Act Two of Monday’s DC melodrama took the form of a soliloquy by Sen. Al Franken that vacillated more than Hamlet’s “To be or not to be,” except that Al couldn’t decide if he did or did not grope women’s bottoms (“To squeeze or not to squeeze, that is the question.”) You think I’m kidding? Here are some actual quotes:

“I can't say that it hasn't happened. In crowded chaotic situations, I can't say that I have not done that. I am very sorry if these women experienced that…If you had told me two weeks ago that women were going to come forward and say I disrespected them, I would have said no.”

The upshot is that while he doesn’t remember grabbing any women’s bottoms, purposefully or (somehow) inadvertently due to having to hold on to something in the chaotic crowds, he is still deeply ashamed, and he intends to learn from these incidents that he doesn’t remember as he returns to his important work of championing women’s rights in the Senate.

I don’t think it was good enough or smart enough, and doggone it, I didn’t like it. But you can watch it for yourself at the link and see what you think. You can also ponder why it’s okay for an admitted Democratic serial sexual harasser to stay in the Senate while it would be an unacceptable affront to that august institution to admit an alleged Republican harasser who adamantly dies all the accusations.

I just remembered way back long before I was saved. I was in a bar in Wyoming. This nice looking girl walked by me and grabbed my butt! As she walked by she said "Nice".....Maybe because I'm a guy, I liked it, never saw her again though. I did hear about how many guys she'd been with and that disgusted me.

    Dear Mike,
About your "squeeze or not to squeeze" alteration from Hamlet, may I add one with my own twist? If you give a person enough "grope", they will eventually hang themselves. And that is not fake "noose" but merely a statement of fact.

Well is Al's apology sincere to right a wrong or is it political to keep his senate seat
It's going to be interesting how his actions are in the future, with senate business.

I'm going to rob some banks. I need the money real bad. If I get caught I'm going to tell the cops "I can't remember doing that." It works for the Democrats why wouldn't it work for me?

I've been crowded, even crushed in crowds, even if I'm fearful of falling due to the crush, I might reach for arms or hands, I never even thought of pinching the buttocks of a nearby person. I never will.

You make a great point--as always--and I appreciated all the "a's" in the second part of the last sentence. Whether it contains homespun phrases, solid wisdom, courageous stands, keen insight, a chuckle, and/or penetrating analysis, your column is always a joy to read. And I always learn something.

Please keep writing! Please keep appearing on Fox! Your voice is valuable!

God bless you as he continues to use you mightily!

This man is an actor/politician (aka professional liar). These happened years ago. But there never was an outreach to "be ashamed" before it became known. Surely I'm not the only one who sees the obviousness that these "sympathetic, guilt-ridden" speeches are only because he got caught. How come Pelosi didn't mention the republicans facing same accusations?

I think he is guilty as well as badly treating all who work under him or for him. He is a bully and should be gone. Treat everyone equally and well or you should not be in a position of power of any kind.

It amazes me that Dems can *only* see wrongdoing when it comes from a Rep & will demand that Rep step down or recuse himself even when there is no visible proof.

Yet, when Dems are accused of wrongdoing, & let's be honest, there is a photo showing Franken with his hands above his accuser's breasts, Dems will *not* utter the words or *demand* that he step down from his position.

Pelosi says Conyers' accusers are *anonymous*, but that is not true. One young lady *did* come forward.
Another woman was fired & paid off using money that is allocated to pay the staffer's salaries & admin costs for lawmakers, which, seems to me should warrant Conyers being charge with *misappropriation of funds* since that money was *not* his to use to pay off his accuser.

After all, the Office of Compliance, OOC, uses *taxpayer money* to pay off those that are accused of sexual assaults, harassments, discrimination, & other such improprieties.

WHY should taxpayers pay for these things? We didn't do anything wrong. And since taxpayers pay for their *bad deeds*, they will learn *nothing* & probably continue doing them because *they* aren't really held accountable nor paying for their actions!

    1. They should pay their own *pay-offs* out of their own salaries & all costs involved. If guilty, they should resign or be fired.
    2. No more *taxpayer slush funds* to pay for wrongdoing. They know what's *right & wrong* & if they don't, they shouldn't be in office!
    3. Dems should follow the same rules, regulations, & consequences for wrongdoing as Reps; that is *not* the case right now.
    4. Those that refuse to work with another party, i.e., do their jobs, should be fired. Govt works FOR the people not for themselves.

Businesses pretty much everywhere will tell you if you don't like or don't want to work with someone you need to work with, to find a way to get past your differences, work together, or you can be fired.

Govt should be no different. You are hired to do a job; you do it or find employment elsewhere. When President Trump won the election Dems began acting like children by refusing to go to his Inauguration. FACT: No one will like *every* person that wins the Presidential election.

Never has there been such a disrespect to the office of the President as this year, due primarily because the Democrats did not win. Even with a system *rigged* to get Hillary Clinton elected, Democrats lost & they refuse to get over it.

In an interview with Dana Bash, sometime in January, Chuck Schumer said: "The only way we're going to work with him is if he moves completely in our direction and abandons his Republican colleagues,".

When you publicly state conditions under which you will work with a President, then you are already doing wrong & you should be fired. Dems have basically said President Trump must do what *they* want or they will not work with him.
That is not how government works or how it *should* work.

Dems have refused to work with President Trump in a bipartisan manner & have blocked or attempted to block him every step of the way & that began on day one.

I believe is is lying. The issue that I would like investigated is the money that has been paid out of the congressional slush fund for misdeeds. I clearly resent that taxpayer money has been used. Every dollar should be paid back and their names should be said loud and clear. Thank you for letting me speak!

Thanks mike, I do so appreciate your email every day & your humor!
My comment is - DRAIN THE SWAMP - get these jerk politicians gone.
None choose to depart their cash cow job. I want term limits & age limits.
I want these power hungary little men to retire from their kingdoms.
Think that’s enough for today. Love Sarah ! Stay happy & healthy !

Gov. Huck;, thank you for such a fine column. I prayed for Pres. Trump to be surrounded by Godly men and women of wisdom and discernment and you and Jeffries fill the bill. I also enjoy your tv show. My prayer is that Pres. Trump will continue to let himself be led by the Holy Spirit. To me, it was a miracle when he won the election. That, to me, shows that God is not through with America as it would have been should Clinton have won. Tell Sarah she is doing a fine job as well. She knows how to put those progressive reporters in their place and she has one of the hardest jobs in DC. Thank you for an honest column I can trust.

Al Franken is a man with little integrity and a character in question, not to say his abuse of women (that we know of so far). It is time for him to go. We don't need men like Al Franken in congress.

Hi Gov. Huck. I like to read your comments very much. It is refreshing to get the truth. You are an answer to one of my prayers that Pres. Trump will be surrounded by Godly men and women full of wisdom and discernment. This man needs and I feel wants our prayers as do all of our leaders. I also enjoy Sarah very much and her take on things. In all of my 77 years I have never seen a pres. so mistreated. He like PM Netanyahu have been put in their places of service by God for these times and I pray they will both allow themselves to be led by the Holy Spirit. I truly believe Pres. Trumps election was a miracle and the will of God. I pray that those who are maligning him will have a revelation and come to see it as Gods will. Thank you again for a fine column.

If it walks like a duck, quack like a duck it must be a pigeon. After all, he is a Democrat, no harm will come. Maybe he will keep his sanctimonious moth shut and the women of Minnesota will call him on it

These middle-aged molesters have the maturity of a 15 year old school boy.

Franken, which of these women do you regret milestone or was the feeling of groping any of these women so unmemirable that you can’t remember?
