"Al Green is a gift from God,” said Trey Gowdy to Ed Henry on Thursday’s THE STORY, “and we should buy him time during the Super Bowl so he just keeps talking.”

Rep. Green filed an impeachment resolution against President Trump two years ago, long before the special counsel investigation was completed and the tepid Mueller report was released. But that didn't matter. As Trey Gowdy pointed out, 60 Democrats in Congress actually joined with him. Evidence, shmevidence, who needs that? And all these months later, they still have no evidence and still push for impeachment.

But one thing about someone with as big a mouth as Al Green’s: he can be counted on to occasionally and unwittingly spew a little truth, as when he said the President had to be impeached or he'd get re-elected. (He also said a President could be impeached more than once.) Thank you, Rep. Green, for unthinkingly admitting what Democrats are really up to with this impeachment business. They’ve been working on this nonstop ever since Trump was inaugurated --- even before he was. They know they can’t get this Senate to convict Trump --- especially with ZERO evidence and a ridiculous case based on hearsay and “presumption” --- but they can try to use the issue as a wedge to defeat some Senate Republicans.

With gratitude,

Mike Huckabee

FEATURED STORY

Final thoughts on 2019

Posted 12/31/2019

By Mike Huckabee

On this last day of the year (and the decade!), many people are looking back at 2019. I would hope that a lot of them, particularly on the left, would reflect on how unbelievably well-off America is – unemployment at all-time lows, wages rising, stock markets booming, gas cheap, trade deals being renegotiated in our favor at long last, violent crime down, terrorists on the run, no new wars (and soldiers finally coming home from seemingly endless ones), food healthier and plentiful, and even the environment much cleaner than a few decades ago (unless you live in a Democrat-run city and have to dodge poop and typhus) – and ask themselves one question:

“Why exactly am I constantly complaining about how horrible everything is?

In fact, can you imagine what a Golden Age 2019 would have felt like if we hadn’t had to endure the constant whining, sniping, screaming, cursing, crying, protesting and “resisting”? What are they even resisting? Happiness?

As we stand at the crossroads, assessing the recent past and reflecting on the future, I thought I’d share a few of the more interesting commentaries, the ones you aren’t likely to see in the mainstream media.

I’ll start with one that I’m sure pains the talking heads at CNN, MSNBC, etc., to report: Gallup reports that there’s a tie for the title of Most Admired Man of 2019 between Barack Obama and Donald Trump.

I wanted to make sure you also read these comments:

Say, remember that fiercely urgent impeachment that had to be passed before Christmas, only to have Nancy Pelosi let it sit on the shelf like an elf until after New Year’s?  If that was designed to damage Trump’s reelection prospects, it’s not working according to plan.  Since Democrats seem to want to impeach Trump for something different every day, he might want to encourage them to go ahead and do just that.  He’ll be the first President to turn impeachment into a major profit center.

The most criminally-overlooked story of 2019 that suddenly became news in the last month: the rising tide of anti-Semitic attacks in the deep blue New York City area that had already been going on throughout the year:

Considering the disregard for enforcing laws or showing respect to police that have marked the unnecessary decline of the Big Apple under Mayor Bill DeBlasio, the rising crime and violence are hardly surprising.  But never underestimate the ability of the left to take a terrible situation of their creation and make it far worse with the application of some grand, sweeping, radical, idiotic idea. Don’t believe it?  How about their latest brainstorm: “Abolish the police!”  Yes, that will finally make places like Chicago, Baltimore and Seattle safe: removing the police entirely.

Seriously, did these people grow up eating lead paint chips?

Welcome to the New Year, Mike. Concerning the senate impeachment hearing...don't you know that Trump's own DOJ, FBI, and the State Department are still holding up FOIA requests from over 2 years ago. No criminal charges have even been filed on Strzok from a recommendation made over 18 months ago. What makes you think that a trial will be fair to Trump? The deep state are still protecting all these characters who were involved in this coup. Tom Fitton has it right...the senate needs to call a preliminary trial, with Adam Schiff as a witness that will expose the players in this coup, and show that Trump had a solid basis for questioning aid to Ukraine. All roads lead to George Soros and Hillary in this crime of the century.

"What are they even resisting? Happiness?" It would seem there are those who derive their happiness by doing their darndest to make US citizens unhappy.

I would hope that the majority of the people understand that the impeachment has been a set-up from the beginning--how can you impeach a President who hasn't even been inaugurated? Or a candidate who had not yet won the election (thank God he did!!!) Of course, it seems there are democrats who are supposed to be smart enough to be in Congress who don't understand that little rule of thumb. Probably the same yahoos who celebrated obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize--before he had accomplished anything.

I notice that democrats are ticked off that President Trump reacted to the attack on an American embassy. I guess they much prefered obama/hil actions (non-actions) with loss of American lives? And, there's something wrong with an Iranian military leader (terrorist) being taken out? Maybe they should notice the Iraquis who certainly are glad a major terrorist has been removed. Of course, the snowflake democrats don't LIVE there and I'm certain they think they know better than the Iraqui citizens!!! Omar is having a cow for sure. Why, it's just so TERRIBLE that a terrorist threat has been removed permanently.

I am having trouble with the end of 2019 being the end of yhe decade. They did this with 2000; 1999 years do not make 2000. Y2K problems came early.
Thank you for your program on TBN. It is something my hubby and I watch together. bev

In some ways the police have already been gotten rid of. I am a police officer in a small city in Western Nebraska. I recently was in Denver and stopped at a gas station. In the parking lot a man was smoking marijuana, I realize that is legal in Colorado but I believe that it is not allowed to smoke in public. I went inside the station and there was a uniformed officer in there. The officer was getting cash out of an ATM. The officer then went to the Colorado lottery vending machine and began buying scratch tickets and playing them. The got more money from the ATM and bought more tickets. I the community I serve neither one of these would be allowed. People smoking marijuana in public or drinking alcoholic beverages in public would very quickly be cited and have thier substances confiscated. Officers are not allowed to gamble on duty or in uniform, lottery included. In my decades on the force no one has ever dared to do this and are a minimum would be facing as suspension without pay and possibly dismissal. In Denver and the surrounding area there are "Enforcement free zones" where people can openly consume all manner controlled substances and police officers are forbidden from stopping them. What could possibly go wrong with this? The once Beautiful City of Denver is rapidly deteriorating into another Seattle or San Francisco. It is sad to see.

    Mike
No matter how many times (and for a few months) I've added your newsletter to my Hotmail safe senders list, it's still marked as junk. This is so frustrating as it's obvious their bias is in play here. I know you have encountered this and wanted to add to the list of people having this issue.
Well I am glad we have you to let us know about all the things the left is trying to do. Keep it up and and I will always be in your corner.
