NOTE:  We will have MUCH MORE about the IG Report on Comey very soon.

--------------------------

In breaking news, it appears that President Trump has had enough and is taking matters into his own hands when it comes to declassification.

John Solomon has been told by his so-far impeccable sources that in the name of transparency, Trump is “putting the finishing touches” on a White House initiative to finally declassify certain documents that have been held from public view for a ridiculously long time. These will focus on the failed “Trump/Russia” investigation, but Solomon says there three sets of other Obama-era documents he expects to see declassified, and they are big deals, important enough to “fundamentally change the public’s understanding of history (yes) and identify ways to improve governance.”

Here they are. Read it and weep…

Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands were thankfully spared the worst from Hurricane Dorian, but the fact that it’s remained over the ocean so long means it will likely make landfall in the US with even more strength, possibly a Category 3.  It could be the strongest hurricane to hit Central Florida in 30 years.  More information and a map with projected timeline are here:

https://www.foxnews.com/us/florida-braces-for-impact-as-hurricane-dorian-nears

If you’re in Florida or anywhere along the Eastern Seaboard, since the storm’s trajectory still isn’t certain, please keep a close eye on the weather and prepare now to ride it out or evacuate, depending on local orders.  And wherever you are, please join me in praying for the storm to weaken and for the safety of those in its path.

I should also mention that the “don’t let any crisis go to waste” crowd used the earlier threat to Puerto Rico to criticize President Trump for diverting some emergency funds to deal with overcrowding at illegal immigrant detention centers. Just a few points on that:

1. If we were facing a serious emergency, Congress has the power to allocate more funds to deal with it.

2. If Trump didn’t do anything about dealing with the overcrowding at the detention centers, the same critics would call him a heartless, racist monster who doesn’t care about the people in them.

3.  If Trump’s critics had helped him shore up border security instead of doing everything in their power to impede him, and if they’d changed our crazy laws to stop making it so easy and attractive to enter the US illegally, then the detention centers wouldn’t be overcrowded in the first place.

If there is a bad storm, I feel certain that the Trump Administration will deal with the aftermath.  Just as it is trying, against all odds and opposition, to deal with the perfect storm of illegal immigration crises created by the people criticizing him for how he’s dealing with it.

Hat’s off to MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell.  It takes a lot for someone to come up with a Trump/Russia conspiracy story so far-out and poorly sourced that even Rachel Maddow does a double-take when she hears it, but he managed it.

On Tuesday, O’Donnell told Maddow that “I may have some information” that “I stress ‘if true,’ because this is a single source who has told me that Deutsche Bank obtained tax returns…this single source close to Deutsche Bank has told me that Donald Trump’s loan documents there show that he has co-signers. That’s how he was able to obtain those loans and that the co-signers are Russian oligarchs." And “that would explain every kind word Donald Trump has ever said about Russia and Vladimir Putin.”  (Although if it’s true that taking money from Russians explains why you’re nice to them, then he’s also making the case that Hillary signed off on selling 20% of our uranium to Russia because of all the dough the Clintons got from Russians – but I don’t expect to hear that story on MSNBC.  I digress.)

It quickly was revealed that the alleged unnamed source hadn’t seen the Deutsche Bank records.  White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said, “This is one of the reasons that a majority of Americans have lost trust in the media. Instead of applying ethics and standards to their reporting, journalists and left-wing outlets have weaponized the media, using it to attack and harass people with little to no regard for the truth.” But what really scared some integrity into O’Donnell was when Trump’s lawyers sent MSNBC a letter flatly refuting the story, calling it “false and defamatory” and demanding a retraction or else.

O’Donnell went back on the air with one of those classic mealy-mouthed, non-apology “apologies,” saying he was wrong to repeat what he heard from his source without going “through the rigorous verification and standards process here at MSNBC.” He added that “attorneys for the President sent us a letter asserting the story is false. They also demanded a retraction. Tonight, we are retracting the story. We don't know whether the information is inaccurate. The fact is we do know it wasn't ready for broadcast and for that I apologize."

Wow, that’s a lot of weasel words.  “Asserting” the story is false.  It “wasn’t ready” for broadcast. And my favorite, “We don’t know whether the information is inaccurate.”

Well, I guess I’ll forgive him.  After all, I heard from an unnamed source, who might or might not have any actual information on the subject, that O’Donnell took a big hit of LSD just before going on the air and saying that.  If true, it would explain his actions.  I emphasize “if true.” The fact is, we don’t know whether the unsourced, unverified story I just made up that he uses LSD on the air is inaccurate. I’m sure he would assert that it’s false. But I think we can all agree that it was not ready to be broadcast, and for that I apologize.  (Do you think I could use this double-talk as an audition for MSNBC?)

Know what else is not ready for broadcast TV?  Lawrence O’Donnell.

CBP banning Dems from facilities: Hows this:
Have staffers stay a month or 2 to "sample" refugee issues, & report.
    Or Go Home.
Then C Dems resign from seeing CBP facilities,
    Or nothing changes.
    Ask Dems is this OK
