The Biden approval slide

It’s become a fascinating academic exercise to keep up with President Biden’s poll numbers. I’ve been in politics for years, and it’s a rare thing to see approval numbers this bad for anyone who isn't embroiled in a major scandal (that the media will actually cover.)

The latest ABC/Ipsos poll finds Biden now breaking into the 20%-to-70% approval-disapproval range on some issues. Monkeypox has better approval numbers than that.

On his handling of inflation, he’s at 28% approval, 71% disapproval. On gas prices, he’s at 27% approval, 72% disapproval. Question: Who approves of current gas prices? Did they poll OPEC sheiks and bicycle salesmen?

Another ominous sign for Democrats: a staggering 80% of voters agreed that inflation will be the deciding factor over which party they vote for. So at least the Democrats will have the votes of people who like paying more for things.

Hopeful signs

Here are a couple more hopeful signs that the tyranny of the Rainbow Mafia may finally be coming to an end as people stand up and say, “Enough.” First, the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team held a “Pride Month” weekend celebration of the LGBTQ community, and several players refused to wear the rainbow logo on their uniforms because it violated their Christian religious beliefs. Before they’re falsely accused of “hatred,” relief pitcher Jason Adam said, “It’s just what we believe the lifestyle he’s (Jesus) encouraged us to live for our good, not to withhold. But we love these men and women, we care about them and we want them to feel safe and welcome here.”

And 70 churches in Georgia have officially split from the United Methodist Church, largely because of church leaders prioritizing LGBTQ activism over the Bible. Like the quote above, they don’t see how loving the sinner requires them to approve of and celebrate the sin.

I keep hearing about how church attendance is falling in America, and it’s usually spun as being people rejecting God or the Bible. But from the comments on that second story from people who claim to have attended Methodist churches in recent years, there seems to be near unanimous agreement that it’s the church that left them. There are many complaints that their churches became more like social centers or coffee houses, and ministers were more focused on pushing current social issues than preaching the Bible. One commenter said until he switched to a Baptist-based church, he’d never ever heard much about the New Testament or anything about redemption through Christ.

People are still looking for God and the message of Jesus Christ. If they aren’t finding that in a particular church, then there are plenty of others where it’s readily available for free.

1000% Tax

Congratulations to Virginia Rep. Donald Beyer for finding a way to combine the Democrats’ two favorite policies into one proposal: taking away your AR-15s by putting a 1,000% tax on them.

This would add $5,000 to $20,000 to the cost of buying an AR-15 rifle. The response from gun rights advocates was swift, with some, such as the Latino Rifle Association, making the interesting point that the Democrats’ response is always to make it harder for poor and marginalized communities to buy guns while wealthy people can still easily afford them. I would add that it’s those very people – poor minorities – who most need guns to protect their families since they tend to live in blue cities where Democrats have cut police while refusing to jail criminals.

Chinese tariff change under consideration

To help counter the inflation their policies have created, the Biden Administration is considering reversing yet another successful Trump policy: tariffs on Chinese goods. That might help bring down the prices of some things. Of course, it will also empower and enrich the Chinese government. But maybe this White House sees that as a win-win.

One Picture Worth 1,000 Words, Most of Them Unprintable

Further pushing the takeover of women’s sports by biological males who claim to “identify” as women, not only did a “trans” cyclist win one of Great Britain’s top female bicycle races, but another one won second place. The highest a biological woman (if such a thing still exists) placed was third.

Critics pointed out that the victory photos showed the top two placers celebrating while the woman who came in third was tending to her child. They called it a perfect metaphor for current gender ideology: “Men first, women and children’s needs last.”

Incidentally, the first place finisher, “Emily” Bridges, was racing and winning in men’s competitions as recently as February and is registered in the British National Omnium as a man. One commenter on Twitter wrote, “If injustice doesn’t inspire fury, you’re morally defunct.”

The sad part of this is that it’s the criticism of it that inspires fury on the left, where “trans rights” now completely trample women’s rights to the point that many women are afraid even to speak up about this obvious outrage. One who isn’t is Post Millennial writer Libby Emmons, who tweeted, “Women don’t matter to anyone. No one in power cares if women are marginalized, commodified, colonized or erased. Feminists fought for equality, then gave it all back as soon as men demanded it.”

Let’s hope that after November, there will be people back in power who do care about this.

Up and running again

The Abbott Nutrition baby formula plant that was shut down by the FDA (for reasons that turned out to be pointless) is finally up and running again. But it will take until June 20th before the first bottles begin appearing in stores, so expect shortages to continue for the foreseeable future.

Regarding the Methodist Church - my local church is trying to make a decision about this. One problem we have is that the conference owns our beautiful building which houses not only the church but a kindergarten. But don't know how we can live with ourselves if we stay. The church cannot condone sin.

too have biden forget about D Day is not hard to understand he left Americans stranded in Afhanistan he allowed 13 soldiers to be murdered he has left the Military underfunded and has indoctrination of our military personal to CRT I am not amazed with this misfitted person as the Commander in Theft not Commander in Chief, biden is miserable at all he does. This country has so many assets in ALL of its Human Beings and biden holds them from being at the Best we can be misusing the power of the Oval Office. I have never been so disgusted with this nitwitted Imbecile affecting the cost for products i want to purchase as a Senior I want to enjoy my gifts my God has allowed me to have even the aches and pains I have to endure after a lifetime of Blue Collar work Lets go Brandon to you joe biden I hope I don't get much bad time in the here after for what I consider an attack on my lifestyle i worked so hard for.

Having biden as president with the power of the Oval Office is so degrading it contains so much ignorance that is just maddening, this country produces over 6000 products that are petroleum based are those producers exempt from the cost of oil I don’t think so. The cost of gasoline is horrific by itself does biden have plans to replace petroleum in the production of everyday products? no is the answer just like the combustible engine our grid is not capable of allowing electric vehicles to operate at a scale needed besides how many senior are going to spend $75000 on an electric vehicle they won’t be able to use on road trips the time for seniors is going to be spent waiting for a battery to recharge these are just a few reasons biden is unfit to be able to be president he is just plain stupid and that is his best trait

Gov Huckabee! Thank you so much for your daily newsletters! I love the way they're written and the selection of stories! My husband & I also enjoy your TBN show - I wish there were more shows like that!
Isn't our country going downhill fast? I would never have believed that this travesty could happen in such a short period of time! But, I think that this is part of God's plan and hastens the 2nd coming! I expect it to get worse fast - time to prepare as much as possible and time to study the Bible more than ever....
    Thanks Gov Huckabee!

"Let’s hope that after November, there will be people back in power who do care about this."

Don't matter WHAT happens in November. If the jackasses win, things will continue to get worse, If the "red wave" shows up and the rinos win, things will continue to get worse because you rinos don't have the balls to go up against the jackasses. Look what happened during Trumps first 2 years when the rinos had the congress ( btw a bunch of baboons is called a congress) AND the senate and all they did was fight against everything Trump wanted to do.
Can you imagine what would have been accomplished if the rinos had worked WITH Trump??? AND I still have not heard ONE THING about what the rinos platform will be and about how they intend to turn this around!!!!

As a traditional Methodist, I am offended that this movement is going forward with only a few members and the minister supporting the new direction and not willing to bring it forward to the congregation as a whole. And then, the traditional members are forced to find a traditional Methodist church or transfer to another denomination that aligns with my beliefs.

Mr. Huckabee. How can we stop this insane liberalism. This business with the clown parading around the dressing room. Also the two guys being one and two in bike race. The Oak Park fiasco. It just does on and on.
