News That Might Get Me Banned

By Mike Huckabee

Things that might get me banned for reporting: A study in Israel found that out of 7,700 new cases of COVID in the latest wave, 72 (less than 1%) were people who had the disease and got reinfected. About 3,000, or 40%, were people who had been vaccinated (it’s not clear which vaccine they got.)

https://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/309762

When you factor in that 835,792 Israelis have had COVID and recovered and nearly 5.1 million have been vaccinated, that means that vaccinated people were 6.72 times more likely to get infected than people with natural immunity.

Of course, this still means that only a little over three thousand out of nearly 6 million people who were either vaccinated or previously infected got it, so that’s still awfully low. But it doesn’t sound like a very solid argument for forcing people who’ve already had it to get vaccinated.

Secession

By Mike Huckabee

A new poll by Bright Line Watch and You Gov found that a shockingly large number of Americans would be okay with their state seceding from the United States to form a union with more like-minded states.

https://www.westernjournal.com/shock-poll-staggering-number-americans-want-say-ok-secession/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=empowerconservatives

It’s interesting how easily people flip-flop on the idea of secession. For instance, liberals want to tear down statues of Confederate soldiers because they were treasonous traitors for trying to secede. Then, when Trump was elected, some liberals seriously argued that California should secede. But when some conservative counties wanted to secede from California, secession became unthinkable again.

Of course, as the story notes, this wasn’t a carefully thought-out response (they didn’t phrase it as, “Would you like to have a civil war?”), but the answers are still disturbing for what they tell us about the fractious times in which we live.

Sadly, the left has done a very good job of attacking patriotism and undermining national unity, miseducating young people about America’s history and ideals, abusing government power and turning Americans against each other to advance their political goals. Social media has also had a cancerous effect on national unity and identity, allowing people to live inside bubbles of group-think where they never engage civilly with anyone who disagrees with them and hide behind the anonymity of screen names to threaten and demonize others.

This is why, more than ever, parents need to take back control of schools, so that young generations can again learn why America is such a great nation, and why truly oppressed people risk their lives to come here and wave American flags when they demonstrate for freedom.

That history should also include lessons about the most trying times, like Pearl Harbor and 9/11, when Americans put aside all their bickering and stood together because an attack on any of us is an attack on all of us. Teach them that when the Twin Towers fell in New York City, Texans stood in line to donate blood, and nobody gave a thought to whether their red state blood might be saving a blue state resident. We were all Americans then. We still are. We just need to be reminded more often, without having to suffer a national tragedy to have it brought home to us.

Least Surprising Poll of the Day

By Mike Huckabee

Gallup reports that Americans’ trust in the media has plummeted to new lows.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/gallup-american-trust-in-media-plummets-only-congress-less-trusted-among-major-us-institutions/ar-AAMbOr0?ocid=st

TV news leads the race to the basement, with trust in it dropping from 18% in 2019 and 2020 to 16%. The only major US institution with less public trust is Congress. Trust in Congress was at 11% in 2019, it inched up to 13% during the pandemic, and has since dropped to 12%. This is why used car salesmen seldom run for Congress: they don't want to lower the public's trust in them.

So remember, when you hear Congressional Democrats claim to have a mandate to transform America, that they won control of 50% of an institution trusted by 12% of Americans.

9/11 Families Speak Out

By Mike Huckabee

If you thought you were enraged by the Democrats and the media’s (same difference) claims that the January 6th Capitol violence was worse than 9/11, then you should hear what the families of the 9/11 victims have to say about that.

VP Harris Insults Rural America

By Mike Huckabee

For reasons that make no sense, Democrats are dead set against requiring a person to have a photo ID in order to vote. The “idea” of an “ID” is simple enough—you should vote, but your vote should be protected by making sure you are the person doing the voting. If someone votes your ballot, they are stealing it from you.

I’m fairly well known and most places I go, I’m recognized and called by my name before I even sign in at the front desk. This happens at the airport, at a doctor’s or dentist’s office, and at a bank when I wish to withdraw funds. Even so, without a photo ID, I couldn’t see a doctor, fly on a plane, or pay for groceries with a check. I couldn’t take out a loan, check into a hotel or rent a car, or pick up baseball tickets at the will-call window. In most cities I couldn’t even enter a large office building. So why the heartburn about having a photo ID to vote?

The argument that it’s racist to require the ID for voting is not just laughable—it’s insulting to people of color to assume they are somehow less capable than white people to function in our current world. Black or brown people are as smart as I am, and I know they too go to doctors, hospitals, hotels, office buildings, and fly on planes. To suggest that obtaining or using a photo is just too complicated for a black or brown person is outrageous and denigrating. Do Democrats really think so little of minorities? It’s not racist to ask ALL people, whatever color they are, to have a photo ID when they vote. It is 100% racist to insinuate that a minority person is too dumb or lacks the basic life skills to obtain or use a photo ID.

Vice President Kamala Harris insulted people in rural America this week by saying that a photo ID would be too much to ask of people in rural parts of the country, because if we had to make a photo copy (or as she said if we had to Xerox our ID or go to Kinkos), we wouldn’t have the ability to do that.

She needs to visit rural America more. She might be surprised to find out we have electricity, running water, paved roads, cable tv indoor plumbing, and yes, even connections to the INTERWEB! We even wear shoes and store-bought britches. Heck, a bunch of us have even been to an airport and flown on those big jet planes. And we even have toilet paper. If we run out, we have the NY Times, since the Sears catalog no longer gets printed. I’ll bet she doesn’t even know that we quit using horse drawn carriages years ago and drive big ol’ fancy cars like the folks in California. Now I admit, we ain’t all as fancy as the folks in CA where she comes from. We still sometimes use plastic straws, eat real ribeye steaks instead of tofu, and believe that church is more essential than a casino or topless bar. And if the VP wants to come down for a visit, we can show her that all our folk no matter what color—know how to get and use photo ID. And we also know how to get and use a cast iron skillet and this might really mess her up—we know how to get and use a rifle, shotgun, or pistol. Most of us would never think of using those things on people unless they are dumb enough to try and invade our homes or threaten our families. And then it’s not us that will need a photo ID. It’s the dumb son of a gun who tried to break into our house. He’ll need a photo ID so the authorities can notify the next of kin.

Private Security

By Mike Huckabee

New campaign finance filings show that during a three-month period when she was pushing to defund the police, far-left Missouri Democrat Rep. Cori Bush spent nearly $70,000 on private security.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/squad-cori-bush-defund-police-advocate-private-security

I’m waiting for her to dodge the charge of hypocrisy by calling for the government to print enough money to give every American $70,000 to hire private security.

Mask-Wearing Returns To California

By Mike Huckabee

If you’re even wondering why so many Californians are fed up with their leaders, check out this chart illustrating the huge spike in COVID cases that led Los Angeles County officials to reinstate the mask mandate.

https://pjmedia.com/instapundit/462128/

Question: If mask mandates work, why were there two far larger spikes prior to this when mask mandates and all the other draconian measures were fully in effect?

The Woke NFL

By Mike Huckabee

Americans who like to watch sports as a way to escape from politics might want to see if they’re still showing professional bowling on TV.

Big fan, Mike, especially of your ability to disagree without being disagreeable. As a physician, I have a different take on your implied interpretation of Israel infection data. Out of 7,700 new cases of COVID, less than 1% were re-infected; about 40%, had been vaccinated. Firstly, vaccination doesn't prevent infection, it gives an immune head-start so that infection isn't likely to cause hospitalization and death, so best data would be death rates amongst recovered, vaccinated, and non-vaccinated (non-immune). Secondly, there is a testing bias: if a patient is recovered, he is less likely to test for immune response symptoms like fever/chills/aches. If only vaccinated, people are more likely to seek testing, creating results like these that don't mean what they seem to mean at first blush. I'm currently in a Delta hotspot where vaxed & un-vaxed are both testing positive, but ~99% of those in ICU are un-vaxed, highly suggestive of vaccine efficacy.

With all the CRT carry on, I am just wondering if the colour of the person giving blood (like they did after 9/11) makes any difference to the Liberals that might need it? Would they care if it was a "White Supremacist", or "White Privilege", or a "Victim" that had donated blood?

    Hi Mike,
Below your newsletter, there are links to click to see the 20 most beautiful women in the world, the 30 epic fails, or whatever. One that caught my attention relates to some topics you have been addressing lately. The link was titled “Questionable Foods that Prove that Baby Boomers Have No Taste” by Michelle Ranken at the web address https://definition.org/questionable-foods-prove-baby-boomers-no-taste/?xsmr=1 . At first I thought she must be joking, but I’ve decided she probably is not. Having been born in 1963, I guess I fit the category of Boomer, and have to admit that there are some of those foods that I do like and miss because I haven’t had them for a while. Tuna casserole was one example. I’m sure if you took the time to click through them, you would have a few moments of nostalgia as well. However, the page in which she really shocked me was regarding canned vegetables. I was amazed at her ignorance. She had written (beneath a picture of canned goods), “Why purchase a perfectly good, fresh, nutrient-dense carrot at the supermarket when you could buy a can of gross, soggy, bland carrots that are likely soaked in something highly questionable (probably chemicals)? We don’t have an answer for that but Boomers apparently do. Please, we need to understand what’s going on in your heads, Boomers. What are we missing here?” There are so many directions I could go with this, but I have run into some of this in classes I teach – i.e. kids not knowing where their food comes from, nor how blessed they are to be able to find most fruits and vegetables in the produce section any day of the year. They don’t seem to realize that the availability of fresh produce year-round is a relatively recent phenomenon, and that it is a tribute to our extremely efficient agricultural production (which so many people complain about) and transportation/distribution system.
I keep reminding myself that I need to lay in a stock of these canned foods, mainly because it looks like we are only one or two more bad decisions away from this, thanks to the idiocy of whoever is pulling Biden’s strings. But we could easily be in our Covid/toilet paper shortage situation, but with food availability, in a very short time because the decisions that are being made could affect that agricultural efficiency in so many ways.

So now one is an "enemy of the state" if fleeing a Communist country. The governor of Florida needs to "man up" and declare Florida a sanctuary state for all in this spot. Then take all the illegal aliens and fly them back to central America! The other governor's need to also. Depopulate the left's illegal voting lists.
Secession us very likely at this point. Like the Korean War. The south Koreans wanted freedom while Ho Chi Minh was out to create his Communist kingdom!
    Now it's 1984 2.0!
You have a lot of interesting people but it is starting to look like a boardroom meeting. All are talking about the problems but no plan of action overall.
Like to see people like Charlie Kirk and Victor Maxx on it. They see the myriad problems and doing something about
Charlie is actively teaching churches the Biblical mandate for believers to get involved Victor heads a group at the border and worldwide rescuing and rehabilitating people being trafficked as sex slaves. He is teaching Christians how to be real men. The religious leaders have either sold out for their 30 pieces of silver or teaching pietism! Losers either way

    Greetings Governor Huckabee; July/18/2021--1531hours.

My husband & I enjoy your show very much, it brings back pleasant memories of yester years.

Now, In regards to the question by one of your viewers wondering why the media gets away with what they do is because of this law.

In 1986, Congress wanted to be able to reach out to more voters. So they went to the media and and other companies to ask for help.
The response from the media and other companies, was an over whelming yes. But they told Congress that they could not because they would be sued for false statements & Anti-American subjects.

So Congress came up the 230 law, which excepts them from sued. So they can say whatever they want to and get away with the statement, without worrying about being held accountable for their actions.

    I hope this helps.

On the other hand we should make the public aware of this special law for the media and protest or vote to get the 230 law removed, then the media & big tech companies will be held accountable for their actions.

    God Bless you & yours,
    Eunice LaSpisa
P.S. you can get confirmation on this from the Dick Morris Reports. Maybe you can have him on your show to elaborate.

As I recall, Israel used the Pfizer vaccine. Other articles on vaccine effectiveness against the latest "delta" or out of India strain stated Pfizer's vaccine didn't do as well as the other vaccines against this particular strain. This might be affecting the numbers in Israel, too. I'd guess the data isn't in & fully analyzed.
