HILARIOUS BECAUSE IT IS TRUE
Someone is selling stickers for your window that make it appear as if New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is peeking through your window to make sure you don’t have too many Thanksgiving guests:
At the link, Jim Treacher of PJ Media delivers an epic, no-holds-barred evisceration of the Emmy Award-winning coronavirus tyrant, pointing out that he (and I might add, other out-of-control leftwing Governors, including Gavin Newsom and Gretchen Whitmer) is acting like the exact type of autocratic, “my word is law,” tin-pot, Third World dictator that they’ve spent four years falsely accusing Trump of being.
Quotable quote: “If you’re a New Yorker and you choose to defy Duce Cuomo, what’s he gonna do? Kill your grandparents again?”
SOME GOOD HOLIDAY NEWS
Thanks to the efforts of Christian legal organizations like the Thomas Moore Society in defending First Amendment rights, a majority of state capitals (31 out of 50) will have Nativity scenes as part of their Christmas decorations on public property this year (or if you’re CNN, they’ll have “holiday” Nativity scenes.)
At the link, you can read some background on the successful legal fights against groundless assaults on public expression of religious beliefs, and see which states will have Nativity scenes this year. The founder of the Thomas Moore Society warns that if Biden gets into office, he expects a return of the Obama-era hostility to people of faith. But he believes momentum and the law are on our side, and he predicts that the day is coming soon when all states will include Nativity scenes in their official decorations for Christmas (yes, Christmas, not “Generic Winter Holiday.”)
DEJA VU ALL OVER AGAIN
This is a thought-provoking piece by Bruce Bawer at American Greatness, pointing out the similarities between the 2020 election and the 1964 contest between Lyndon Johnson and Barry Goldwater. It was an election in which a ruthless, arrogant, big government liberal was painted as a folky man of the people, and a patriotic conservative who turned out to be right on all the issues was brutally smeared by Democrats and the media as a crazy, warmongering extremist.
The Democrat won dirty (remember the commercial tying Goldwater to blowing up a little girl with an atom bomb?), but it didn’t take long for reality to set in and the public to get buyer’s remorse. LBJ, with his massive expansion of government and an escalting foreign war, was soon so unpopular, he didn’t even run for reelection and was replaced by a Republican.
So far, history seems to be repeating itself. The big question is, if Biden gets in, will it keep on repeating itself?
Friday, at least eight people were wounded by a shooter at the Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. At last report, all were alive, but the extent of their injuries wasn’t clear. Police were looking for a suspect described as a white male in his 20s or 30s.
This is a developing story. Please keep the victims and their families in your prayers.
After this roller coaster news week, take a break to relax with a new episode of “Huckabee” tonight on TBN. I’ll talk with Representative-elect Nicole Mallitakis, who just flipped a seat for the GOP in New York, about her mother’s experience living under socialism (in Cuba, not New York!) Pastor/activist/musician Sean Feucht will tell us about his new book (I loved it so much, I wrote the foreword.) One of the NBA’s favorite halftime acts, Christian Stoinev and Scooby, will amaze you. We’ll also visit with Kathie Lee Gifford, and the legendary Ray Stevens will perform a classic hit and a new song, addressing quarantines as only he can.
It kicks off tonight at 8 and 11 EST, 7 and 10 CST, and Sunday at 9 EST/8 CST, on TBN. To find out where you can watch TBN, from local cable and broadcast channels to streaming, visit https://www.huckabee.tv and click on “Channel Finder” on the top menu.
