Trump vs. Pelosi: score one for Trump

January 29, 2019

President Trump has caught a lot of grief from some on the conservative side by making a move to negotiate with House Democrats on border security. But Edward Morrissey at THE WEEK has an interesting take on his negotiating strategy.

What looks like concession may just be what it takes to put Nancy Pelosi behind the 8-ball. It’s making her look bad to some in her own party. As Morrissey tells it, other Democrats are finally starting to see the cracks in her complete refusal to negotiate. Here’s the theory, in his own words…

Speaking of Nancy Pelosi, it must be dawning on her that she is starting to look like a fool even to some Democrats, as she has now re-invited President Trump to give the State Of The Union Address in House chambers. As cover, she’s got Trump’s decision to temporarily end the partial shut-down that she had said was the reason for her dis-invitation. (That reasoning had made no more sense than her citing of non-existent security concerns for the event.)

Trump has formally accepted her invitation. “It is my great honor to accept,” he wrote. “We have a great story to tell and yet, great goals to achieve!”

His address is scheduled for February 5.

How in the world can a Congress person tell the President of the United State of America, 'you can't give the State of the Union address from the House floor'? How can that be possible in a non-communist country? I guess any thing is not a surprise from the Liberal, Progressives, Democrats in this country now. What if the Republicans who controlled Congress when obummer was the leader, did that, told him no he couldn't give the address? We all know what that outcome would be.

My son and his wife, in their 30's, are NOT FOOLED by the Liberals, by their own observations. Also, my grandson who is 17 right now, he was actually born 2 days before 9/11/2001, also isn't fooled by the non-Conservatives. (Non-Conservative. I am using that term to sum up all those other names of the groups who act un-American and are President Trump-haters.) Anyway, my son and his wife are true Conservatives, but are not radical right people, neither am I. We don't like abortion, but if someone chooses it, make them pay for it themselves, and not with our federal and state tax dollars. We are Christians, but are not intolerant of other faiths, as long as it is a good belief, and not one that kills others just because they are of a different belief. We are for immigrants, as long as they do it legally into this country, and we are for guns, for protection and to prevent what happened when Hitler took over Germany, but the ones we own, we have licenses for them and they are locked up and away from any children. We are also very happy President Trump won, as we all voted for him, as we do vote in all elections. Anyway, we are not biased against any group of people, as long as they are not criminals. There are actually so many more people just like us, but we don't have time to go and protest as we work for a living, more than one job too. And take care of our families. We say, Go President Trump and we will vote for him again in 2020. Doing the right thing is NOT always the popular thing. We are for substance and not symbolism. We know how awful non-Conservative beliefs are as we live in New York State, and beside the fact that our votes never count, thanks to New York City and awful Cuomo and his cronies, we can see what would happen if all of America was ruled in the same way, it would be catastrophic and America would not be America. Thank God for President Trump, literally. He is saving America and doing what is right, even though it isn't popular, it is NECESSARY. We keep President Trump and his family, and our country, in our prayers, daily.

Yes, POTUS has a few stories to tell, and yet a few goals to meet. I can hardly wait. I always look forward to all of POTUS' "stories". I will be watching Nancy too.

I believe President Trump knows what he is doing. One of the reasons he is now President is that he is not a politician (career or otherwise) who is going to play the political game as we have known it to date. He has accomplished much through the "art of the deal" so to speak, and knows how to get deals done. It's funny (well, sad, really) that people are apoplectic about his tweeting, the way he says things, yet so many seem to not have a problem with people like good ol' maxine and other democrats going on camera with their outlandish statement, especially ones that encourage threatening the President and his administration and their families. And, the msm who find NO problem with their smearing and going after the President's family, including a 10 year old child.

Our President Donald J Trump is a master at outwitting his opponents! And I bet his I.Q. is far above Pelosi's. Let's wait and see how this all turns out.
