Evening Edition - March 29

March 29, 2019

On Wednesday, President Trump called House Intelligence Committee chair Rep. Adam Schiff a leaking, lying criminal who should be forced to resign.  The usual suspects in the media chalked that up to Trump being a hothead and saying outrageous things.  Wonder what their reaction will be to this story?

While Democrats keep insisting that the Mueller report (which they haven’t yet read) does NOT exonerate President Trump and his campaign (as the people who have read it says it does), there’s a prominent Trump critic in the news who’s giving us a prime example of a real false claim of exoneration.  That might soon get even harder to sell.

The real reason why Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) don’t want to give up the “Russian collusion” delusion:  Rasmussen’s tracking poll shows President Trump’s approval rating is now up to 50%.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/trump_administration/prez_track_mar28

This is based on a three-day rolling average of polling, which means it takes into account the news that Mueller found no evidence of “collusion,” but many in the media were turning on Mueller; accusing Attorney General Barr of being part of the conspiracy; demanding the release of the full report as if there would be something incriminating in it that Mueller, Barr and deputy AG Rosenstein somehow missed; insisting there was, too, evidence of Russian collusion (why, they saw it in a secret government room, next to the crashed flying saucer from Roswell!); and in general, beating that broken collusion drum harder than a Native American activist drumming in a Catholic schoolboy's face to drown out the devastating truth. I wonder what the public will think once it really sinks in just how badly they've been duped since 2016.

I’ve often wondered what Trump’s approval rating would have been over the past year if he hadn’t had to deal with a hostile media blaring out 93% negative, often fake news about him, then citing his low approval rating as if it were evidence of anything other than the power of the media to generate self-fulfilling prophecies.

I’m also curious to see what happens to his approval rating once the entire report is released and the partisan termites who launched this witch hunt get put under the microscope. Will some of the platoon of Democrats rushing to challenge Trump in 2020 go back to their day jobs (if they have one, or have ever had one) once voters realize that these are their choices:

1.  A bunch of arm-waving radicals pushing proven failed socialist policies and disastrous lunacies like the “Green New Deal,” or…

2.  A President who’s presided over the rout of ISIS, advantageous new trade deals, the return of free speech rights on campus, and historic levels of job creation and low unemployment, and fought against tremendous opposition to increase border security, but who has an unfortunate weakness for saying non-PC things on Twitter?

Speaking of Twitter, they’re considering putting a label on President Trump’s tweets that violate their policies (policies that seem suspiciously easy for conservatives to “violate” and virtually impossible for leftists to violate.)  Maybe it’s time to put a label on Twitter: “Public utility.”

A reminder that today, the movie “Unplanned” opens nationwide.  It’s the true story of Abby Johnson, a Planned Parenthood clinic manager who pushed the company line to women to perform as many abortions as possible, all while assuring them it was just a lump of cells that didn’t feel pain.  Then one day when the clinic was short-staffed, she was asked to assist.  She saw what abortion really was, and the shock and heartbreak opened her eyes and changed her life.  She became an outspoken pro-life advocate – but as someone who knew too much about Planned Parenthood from the inside, she also became a target of one of the most powerful organizations in America.

This is a must-see film, which is why so many people in the pro-abortion arena are bent on keeping you from seeing it (they prosper by keeping people in the dark about what “reproductive choice” really means.)  The MPAA did its bit by slapping an R rating on the film for “Some disturbing/bloody images.”  Never mind that many actual bloody horror films get PG-13 ratings, and this film is discrete enough to recreate the abortion that shocked Abby only through an ultrasound camera. That rating is designed to keep the teenage market that Planned Parenthood targets from seeing the truth about what they’re selling.

But as the producers pointed out, that rating only confirms their point about abortion: the film has no sex, drugs, nudity or violence.  So with that rating, the MPAA officially certified that abortion itself is a disturbing act of bloody violence.

You can learn more about “Unplanned,” including finding show times near you and purchasing tickets online, at this link.

Don’t let Planned Parenthood and the Hollywood left bamboozle you out of seeing an important and moving film that dares to tell the disturbing truth about abortion.

Last night, President Trump was in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to lead his first major rally since the release of the Mueller findings.  It was an historic speech, not least because it probably marked the first nationally-televised Presidential address that included the full term for the abbreviation “B.S.”

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-in-first-rally-since-mueller-vindication-draws-huge-crowds-on-streets-of-grand-rapids

If anyone has earned the right to use that term to describe what he’s had to deal with from his opponents for over two years, it’s Trump.  Still, I wish he’d watch his language with kids listening.  If Presidents have to use foul language, I’d prefer they restrict it, as LBJ did, to the dignified sanctum of White House Cabinet meetings, which he conducted from the toilet in the adjacent bathroom.

That PG-13 moment aside, it was one of Trump’s most rip-roaring speeches, as he tore into his opponents and the media for the damage they had done not just to his Administration and the innocent people caught up in the investigation, but to America and its international interests, with their baseless conspiracy mongering and undermining of trust in America’s institutions.

Trump said the economy "is roaring, the ISIS caliphate is defeated 100 percent, and after three years of lies and smears and slander, the Russia hoax is finally dead. The collusion delusion is over...The single greatest political hoax in the history of our country. And guess what? We won."

Trump also thanked the media figures who had supported him, such as Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson and Jeanine Pirro.  Uhhh, I think he forgot someone.  But that’s okay: I want it to be clear that my skepticism about the Trump-Russia collusion narrative was never based on “supporting” Trump or party loyalty.  I’m a Republican and I do support Trump, but if I ever thought there was any truth to that claim, I would have said so and dropped my support.  I defended him based on the absurdity of the charges, the obvious bias of the accusers, and the unreliable and unbelievable “evidence.”  I didn’t dismiss the “Russian collusion delusion” because I had a MAGA cap on my head but because I had a brain inside of it.

As always, there were some hilarious moments mixed in (watch for Trump's depiction of his confused reaction the first time someone asked if he was in cahoots with Russia).  And the speech also provided a preview of the 2020 campaign, as he ridiculed out-of-touch Democrats promoting socialism and the “Green New Deal.”

You can read excerpts at the link, or watch the entire speech.  It’s over an hour and twenty minutes, but there are few movies or TV shows that are this entertaining.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-in-first-rally-since-mueller-vindication-draws-huge-crowds-on-streets-of-grand-rapids

 ---------------------------------------------

In his speech, Trump laid into Hillary Clinton as the source of the “Russian collusion” hoax, generated first to harm his campaign, and when the media refused to touch the suspect "Russian dossier" before the election (he actually gave the media thanks for once), it became an excuse for her losing and a tool to undermine his ability to lead.

I recently interviewed Dick Morris for my TBN TV show on his new book, “Fifty Shades of Politics.”  In it, he has a chapter arguing that all scandals related to Bill Clinton lead to Hillary, either as the source or because her kneejerk response is to lie and deflect blame, which turns a minor problem into a major disaster (for instance, did you know that Paula Jones was willing to settle her lawsuit for nothing but an apology and retraction, but Hillary refused, which led to big monetary damages and Bill’s impeachment?)

At the link, Morris explains how the Russian collusion hoax that may go down as the biggest political scandal in history leads straight to Hillary’s doorstep.  So even if she didn’t win the Presidency, it could be said that she did reach the pinnacle of her particular field.

President Trump declared the Jussie Smollett case to be “an embarrassment to the nation” and said the FBI and Department of Justice will look into it. Even if they don’t find anything actionable in the prosecutors’ shocking decision to drop 16 felony charges and let him walk, there is still the possibility of federal charges if he is linked to a hoax death threat to himself that was sent through the US Postal Service.

https://www.westernjournal.com/trump-says-fbi-justice-department-will-review-outrageous-jussie-smollett-case/

For a brief moment, this was something that united a fractured America, liberal and conservative alike: outrage over Smollett skating.  Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel called it a “whitewash of justice” and threatened to send Smollett a huge bill for the cost of the police investigation of his claim.

https://www.westernjournal.com/ct/pay-chicago-mayor-send-massive-bill-jussie-smollett-manpower-wasted-hoax/

And Chicago’s police union requested that the feds get involved to investigate, as Trump promised.

https://www.westernjournal.com/chicago-fraternal-order-police-supports-federal-investigation-jussie-smollett/

But as soon as Trump announced that the feds would investigate, Emanuel had to distance himself by saying that Trump should just “sit this one out” and go to a ball game or something.

When Rahm Emanuel turns against his own police force to slam Trump for doing exactly what the cops asked him to do, it can mean only one thing: he’s planning to run for President as a Democrat, too.

In other Jussie Smollett case developments, his attorney who suggested that he might sue the city for defamation decided that wasn’t ridiculous enough and floated this:

https://www.westernjournal.com/smolletts-attorney-suggests-nigerian-brother-wore-whiteface-attack/

The Cook County prosecutor has a new explanation for letting him go: they were only class 4 felonies.  Yep, and only 16 of them…

https://www.westernjournal.com/hermancain/kim-foxx-let-smollett-go-just-class-4-felonies/

Meanwhile, the National Review has a rundown of the behind-the-scenes favor-granting and string-pulling and the big money and powerful connections involved in getting Smollett sprung. You won't be surprised when some familiar names pop up.

You and your daughter are breathes of fresh air in the pollution of politics. Our president is not a spiritual leader, but he has not trumped all over Christianity and promoted Islam like our previous dangerous president did. If the Dems would work with him, I believe he could do great things. By working against him, they are encouraging rogue countries to not cooperate in the hope they can run all over the U.S. again as they have in many previous years. We needed a businessman, not a politician in office. Thank you for all your work.

    Hi Mike!
Came across this today. Have you seen it? It's really something!
I don't know when he wrote this. He passed last June (2018). He was a very remarkable man to say the least.

This essay makes me very angry. I hope that Trump manages to put Barry and a myriad of others in prison where they belong. Actually, this is awful, but I would like to see Barry and George Soros in shackles daily on the WH lawn for viewing for a year or so.

    Krauthammer

I do not understand how living in a country with its democracy established over 200 years ago, and now, for the first time in history, suddenly we have one of our former presidents set up a group called "Organizing for Action" (OFA).
OFA is 30,000+ strong and working to disrupt everything that our current president’s administration is trying to do. This organization goes against our Democracy, and it is an operation that will destroy our way of governing. It goes against our Constitution, our laws, and the processes established over 200 years ago. If it is allowed to proceed then we will be living in chaos very much like third world countries are run. What good is it to have an established government if it is not going to be respected and allowed to follow our laws?

If you had an army some 30,000 strong and a court system stacked over the decades with judges who would allow you to break the laws, how much damage could you do to a country? We are about to find out in America!

Our ex-president said he was going to stay involved through community organizing and speak out on the issues and that appears to be one post-administration promise he intends to keep. He has moved many of his administration's top dogs over to Organizing for Action.

OFA is behind the strategic and tactical implementation of the resistance to the Trump Administration that we are seeing across America, and politically active courts are providing the leverage for this revolution.

OFA is dedicated to organizing communities for "progressive" change. Its issues are gun control, socialist healthcare, abortion, sexual equality, climate change, and of course, immigration reform.

OFA members were propped up by the ex-president's message from the shadows: "Organizing is the building block of everything great we have accomplished Organizers around the country are fighting for change in their communities and OFA is one of the groups on the front lines. Commit to this work in 2017 and beyond."

OFA's website says it obtained its "digital" assets from the ex-president's re-election effort and that he inspired the movement. In short, it is the shadow government organization aimed at resisting and tearing down the Constitutional Republic we know as AMERICA.

Paul Sperry, writing for the New York Post, says, “The OFA will fight President Donald Trump at every turn of his presidency and the ex-president will command them from a bunker less than two miles from the White House."

Sperry writes that, “The ex-president is setting up a shadow government to sabotage the Trump administration through a network of non-profits led by OFA, which is growing its war chest (more than $40 million) and has some 250 offices nationwide. The OFA IRS filings, according to Sperry, indicate that the OFA has 32,525 (and growing) volunteers nationwide. The ex-president and his wife will oversee the operation from their home/ office in Washington DC.

Think about how this works.. For example: Trump issues an immigration executive order; the OFA signals for protests and statements from pro-immigrant groups; the ACLU lawyers file lawsuits in jurisdictions where activist judges obstruct the laws; volunteers are called to protest at airports and Congressional town hall meetings; the leftist media springs to action in support of these activities; the twitter sphere lights up with social media; and violence follows. All of this happens from the ex-president's signal that he is heartened by the protests.

If Barack Obama did not do enough to destroy this country in the 8 years he was in office, it appears his future plans are to destroy the foundation on which this country has operated on for the last 241 years.

If this does not scare you, then we are in worse trouble than you know.

So, do your part. You have read it, so at least pass this on so others will know what we are up against. We are losing our country and we are so compliant. We are becoming a "PERFECT TARGET" for our enemy!
    Charles Krauthammer

    And here is Rush:
The people of this country were told their president was a traitor. They were assured their president had colluded and stolen the election. None of it happened.

Funny how secrets stay at the tip of your mind and slip out, it seems that Hillary brought up the russia collusion at the debate before any of the "17 agencies" heard about it.
I cant really hate susan rice, lynch, etc because they had to cover for her, and in doing so, ruined their own reputations.
As for her calling trump a racisist, isnt there a young man whose african-american mother told him that he was bill Clinton's son ? Yet he cant get Bill to do a dna test give him answers, and would Hillary accept a half-black stepson?
at least Hillary will finally be #1--in future history books she will be at the top of the list with Cleopatra, Marie Antoinette, Mata Hari as the person who almost brought a country down.
And Biden's telling slip in a speech a few months ago: "we will TAKE BACK the WORLD"...

It was so hard to be able to watch people in their mid life act like a child. I watched Adam Schiff carry on like a spoiled little child an enactment of one Alfie from the little Rascals only Schiff was a bit shorter Alfie was spoiled, a coward, and always looked down on the other children Alfie came from a family with wealth. he always was trying to get the others in trouble and did so. However the kids always turned the table on Alfie and he ended up being the LOSER. I believed Adam Schiff watched those old movies and patterned his life after Alfie's TV life. Adam you have grown into a trouble making liar a short little guy coward, you are ashamed because you are little, not very appealing to women your the guy who tries to make other look bad so you might look better forget it Adam live a honest caregiving life nobody will care what you look like just try being a man yes it will feel uneasy for you and being a man is scary and hard you have time and you will need quite a bit of time to turn yourself into a real man. To be a Gentleman you first have to be a man Adam, you have neither of those qualities trade your little Alfie personalty for a more John Wayne type, I know your response to that is who needs to be a man when you have lots of money? Your answer Adam, A mirror; do it for yourself you need change Adam Schiff or you need to break all your mirrors you will be haunted just like Alfie a miserable little guy. Don.t let Shumer and Pelosi create you be a MAN!!!!!!! Try it you might like it.

The release of Mr. Smollet or however he spells his name stinks of rotten eggs. Seeing his appearance on T.V. after his dismissal of all charges, I viewed it as someone who is smug trying to put out feelers that he can do no wrong. Disgusting.

I watched most of the speech on Channel 8 in Michigan and on a couple of Fox sites and did hear the remark you referred to. I watched the audience laugh and did so myself (I'm a senior citizen). There are some words that offend me and that was not one of them. I do understand your view point as to children listening as I worked in schools most of my working life so language was important, My religion classes taught me that blasphemy was a mortal sin and a nun said that books would not be condemned for 'bad language' because you would not expect a man to say, " Heavens to Betsy," I found that a very interesting comment. Last evening while working in my yard, I heard a college graduate man using some strong language over his leaf blower to a 6 year old child thinking no one heard. I have heard lots of 'locker talk' by other neighbors in describing the life styles of other neighbors and thought to myself, it was none of their business. I'm guessing I have heard it all from family members, relatives, friends, etc. so I assume I haven't led a sheltered life but still marvel at the limited vocabulary of both men and women.

Someone needs to write a song "Rooshin Collusion Delusion". Of course I get part of the writers fees. Of course I do not claim the complete phrase. You can have "collusion delusion". However Rooshin is my idea and writing the song is my idea! Haha??!
I would gladly donate 12.5 % of my share to your PAC, and 12.5% to President Trumps campaign! Donations are after taxes of course, but thanks, again to President Trump, taxes are lower and we all get to keep more of the money!

Each and every one of the perpetrators of the Russian collusion nonsense needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law up to and including the Obamas. The obamas, the Clintons and countless aids and associates need to be held accountable. One of the biggest miscarriages of justice was Comey giving himself the authority to let Hillary waltz off laughing all the way. This is behavior that will continue to get worse unless something is done.

I read today that the Democrats were meeting with Brennen to talk about national security concerns--didn't he lose his security clearance? If they reveal classified information to him--is that illegal-- even treasonous? Why aren't they discussing national security concerns with the present head of the CIA--you know the guy that has the latest most current information? Sounds like the puppet masters have called Charlie McCarthy home.

Thank you Mr. Huckabee for your Evening Edition News Reports and comments!
I agree with you about 100% of the time, but I have to add one thing that has been said so many times before, about abortion and a woman being in control of her own body. If a woman or girl doesn’t want to be a mother, THEN USE BIRTH CONTROL or BETTER YET, ABSTAIN FROM HAVING SEX IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!! Many years ago I read that most abortions are performed on women who have had previous abortions and it appears that this is their preferred method of birth control. Taking a pill once a day for 21 or so days each month is not difficult and then no babies would be killed!
WOMEN, we are not asking you to become a mother of you do not want children or trying to control your bodies, but please use readily available birth control methods to prevent unwanted pregnancy instead of killing your unborn babies!
    Thank you,
    Anita

I agree with you about the President's language. I thought it was a wonderful rally/speech, but I was not raised in a home where these words were spoken and neither were my children. As much as I appreciate our President I wish he would consider his audience.
