On Wednesday, President Trump called House Intelligence Committee chair Rep. Adam Schiff a leaking, lying criminal who should be forced to resign. The usual suspects in the media chalked that up to Trump being a hothead and saying outrageous things. Wonder what their reaction will be to this story?
While Democrats keep insisting that the Mueller report (which they haven’t yet read) does NOT exonerate President Trump and his campaign (as the people who have read it says it does), there’s a prominent Trump critic in the news who’s giving us a prime example of a real false claim of exoneration. That might soon get even harder to sell.
The real reason why Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) don’t want to give up the “Russian collusion” delusion: Rasmussen’s tracking poll shows President Trump’s approval rating is now up to 50%.
This is based on a three-day rolling average of polling, which means it takes into account the news that Mueller found no evidence of “collusion,” but many in the media were turning on Mueller; accusing Attorney General Barr of being part of the conspiracy; demanding the release of the full report as if there would be something incriminating in it that Mueller, Barr and deputy AG Rosenstein somehow missed; insisting there was, too, evidence of Russian collusion (why, they saw it in a secret government room, next to the crashed flying saucer from Roswell!); and in general, beating that broken collusion drum harder than a Native American activist drumming in a Catholic schoolboy's face to drown out the devastating truth. I wonder what the public will think once it really sinks in just how badly they've been duped since 2016.
I’ve often wondered what Trump’s approval rating would have been over the past year if he hadn’t had to deal with a hostile media blaring out 93% negative, often fake news about him, then citing his low approval rating as if it were evidence of anything other than the power of the media to generate self-fulfilling prophecies.
I’m also curious to see what happens to his approval rating once the entire report is released and the partisan termites who launched this witch hunt get put under the microscope. Will some of the platoon of Democrats rushing to challenge Trump in 2020 go back to their day jobs (if they have one, or have ever had one) once voters realize that these are their choices:
1. A bunch of arm-waving radicals pushing proven failed socialist policies and disastrous lunacies like the “Green New Deal,” or…
2. A President who’s presided over the rout of ISIS, advantageous new trade deals, the return of free speech rights on campus, and historic levels of job creation and low unemployment, and fought against tremendous opposition to increase border security, but who has an unfortunate weakness for saying non-PC things on Twitter?
Speaking of Twitter, they’re considering putting a label on President Trump’s tweets that violate their policies (policies that seem suspiciously easy for conservatives to “violate” and virtually impossible for leftists to violate.) Maybe it’s time to put a label on Twitter: “Public utility.”
A reminder that today, the movie “Unplanned” opens nationwide. It’s the true story of Abby Johnson, a Planned Parenthood clinic manager who pushed the company line to women to perform as many abortions as possible, all while assuring them it was just a lump of cells that didn’t feel pain. Then one day when the clinic was short-staffed, she was asked to assist. She saw what abortion really was, and the shock and heartbreak opened her eyes and changed her life. She became an outspoken pro-life advocate – but as someone who knew too much about Planned Parenthood from the inside, she also became a target of one of the most powerful organizations in America.
This is a must-see film, which is why so many people in the pro-abortion arena are bent on keeping you from seeing it (they prosper by keeping people in the dark about what “reproductive choice” really means.) The MPAA did its bit by slapping an R rating on the film for “Some disturbing/bloody images.” Never mind that many actual bloody horror films get PG-13 ratings, and this film is discrete enough to recreate the abortion that shocked Abby only through an ultrasound camera. That rating is designed to keep the teenage market that Planned Parenthood targets from seeing the truth about what they’re selling.
But as the producers pointed out, that rating only confirms their point about abortion: the film has no sex, drugs, nudity or violence. So with that rating, the MPAA officially certified that abortion itself is a disturbing act of bloody violence.

Don’t let Planned Parenthood and the Hollywood left bamboozle you out of seeing an important and moving film that dares to tell the disturbing truth about abortion.
Last night, President Trump was in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to lead his first major rally since the release of the Mueller findings. It was an historic speech, not least because it probably marked the first nationally-televised Presidential address that included the full term for the abbreviation “B.S.”
If anyone has earned the right to use that term to describe what he’s had to deal with from his opponents for over two years, it’s Trump. Still, I wish he’d watch his language with kids listening. If Presidents have to use foul language, I’d prefer they restrict it, as LBJ did, to the dignified sanctum of White House Cabinet meetings, which he conducted from the toilet in the adjacent bathroom.
That PG-13 moment aside, it was one of Trump’s most rip-roaring speeches, as he tore into his opponents and the media for the damage they had done not just to his Administration and the innocent people caught up in the investigation, but to America and its international interests, with their baseless conspiracy mongering and undermining of trust in America’s institutions.
Trump said the economy "is roaring, the ISIS caliphate is defeated 100 percent, and after three years of lies and smears and slander, the Russia hoax is finally dead. The collusion delusion is over...The single greatest political hoax in the history of our country. And guess what? We won."
Trump also thanked the media figures who had supported him, such as Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson and Jeanine Pirro. Uhhh, I think he forgot someone. But that’s okay: I want it to be clear that my skepticism about the Trump-Russia collusion narrative was never based on “supporting” Trump or party loyalty. I’m a Republican and I do support Trump, but if I ever thought there was any truth to that claim, I would have said so and dropped my support. I defended him based on the absurdity of the charges, the obvious bias of the accusers, and the unreliable and unbelievable “evidence.” I didn’t dismiss the “Russian collusion delusion” because I had a MAGA cap on my head but because I had a brain inside of it.
As always, there were some hilarious moments mixed in (watch for Trump's depiction of his confused reaction the first time someone asked if he was in cahoots with Russia). And the speech also provided a preview of the 2020 campaign, as he ridiculed out-of-touch Democrats promoting socialism and the “Green New Deal.”
You can read excerpts at the link, or watch the entire speech. It’s over an hour and twenty minutes, but there are few movies or TV shows that are this entertaining.
In his speech, Trump laid into Hillary Clinton as the source of the “Russian collusion” hoax, generated first to harm his campaign, and when the media refused to touch the suspect "Russian dossier" before the election (he actually gave the media thanks for once), it became an excuse for her losing and a tool to undermine his ability to lead.
I recently interviewed Dick Morris for my TBN TV show on his new book, “Fifty Shades of Politics.” In it, he has a chapter arguing that all scandals related to Bill Clinton lead to Hillary, either as the source or because her kneejerk response is to lie and deflect blame, which turns a minor problem into a major disaster (for instance, did you know that Paula Jones was willing to settle her lawsuit for nothing but an apology and retraction, but Hillary refused, which led to big monetary damages and Bill’s impeachment?)
At the link, Morris explains how the Russian collusion hoax that may go down as the biggest political scandal in history leads straight to Hillary’s doorstep. So even if she didn’t win the Presidency, it could be said that she did reach the pinnacle of her particular field.
President Trump declared the Jussie Smollett case to be “an embarrassment to the nation” and said the FBI and Department of Justice will look into it. Even if they don’t find anything actionable in the prosecutors’ shocking decision to drop 16 felony charges and let him walk, there is still the possibility of federal charges if he is linked to a hoax death threat to himself that was sent through the US Postal Service.
For a brief moment, this was something that united a fractured America, liberal and conservative alike: outrage over Smollett skating. Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel called it a “whitewash of justice” and threatened to send Smollett a huge bill for the cost of the police investigation of his claim.
And Chicago’s police union requested that the feds get involved to investigate, as Trump promised.
But as soon as Trump announced that the feds would investigate, Emanuel had to distance himself by saying that Trump should just “sit this one out” and go to a ball game or something.
When Rahm Emanuel turns against his own police force to slam Trump for doing exactly what the cops asked him to do, it can mean only one thing: he’s planning to run for President as a Democrat, too.
In other Jussie Smollett case developments, his attorney who suggested that he might sue the city for defamation decided that wasn’t ridiculous enough and floated this:
The Cook County prosecutor has a new explanation for letting him go: they were only class 4 felonies. Yep, and only 16 of them…
Meanwhile, the National Review has a rundown of the behind-the-scenes favor-granting and string-pulling and the big money and powerful connections involved in getting Smollett sprung. You won't be surprised when some familiar names pop up.
