The media outdid themselves this week

April 26, 2020 |

Friday, much of the media outdid themselves in their hair-on-fire anti-Trump hysterics, giving us a double dose of Trump Derangement Syndrome idiocy. First, by claiming that President Trump told people to inject Lysol to kill the virus. No, he did not.

They went so bat-poop crazy over that one that some of them were even calling it “Lysolgate.” Here's a great primer in how not to write a headline.

But wait: what about “Labradoodle-gate?” I assume that’s the name they’ll give to the non-scandal arising from Thursday another false claim that Brian Harrison, whom Trump appointed as chief of staff at the Department of Health and Human Services, is heading up HHS’s coronavirus response and he's just a “labradoodle breeder” from Dallas. No, he’s not handling HHS' virus response. Dog breeding is his family business, but as the Dallas Morning News, hardly a Trump-supporting paper, reports, he’s a serious public servant who’s “served three Administrations in high level posts at HHS, the White House and the Pentagon.”

The media’s idiotic overreactions to everything Trump says and does, and their apparent inability to do even the most basic research before reporting a story, have become so wearying that they’re no longer even worth correcting, scolding or even talking about. Adults are dealing with real problems now. Were it in my power, I would send the entire lot of these hyperactive brats to their rooms without supper until they learned how to behave themselves.

In the meantime, I got to thinking what the history books might be like if we’d had this same type of media with the same level of frenzied partisan hatred and immature stupidity covering previous Presidents…

FDR: “We have nothing to fear but fear itself!”

MSNBC: “FDR now claims that we should actually fear ‘fear’ itself! Is he attempting to gin up fear purely for political advantage? Or has he become so disconnected from reality, he believes that an abstract concept is personally threatening him? We’ll have a panel of psychiatrists who’ve never met him but hate him nonetheless explain why we might have to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove him from office over his latest insane comment.”

Teddy Roosevelt: “Speak softly and carry a big stick.”

CNN: “Roosevelt has just openly endorsed clubbing other world leaders with a big stick! We’ll have a panel of experts explain why this demonstrates that he is a childish, unhinged, crazy, war-like authoritarian who needs to be removed from office immediately.”

Abraham Lincoln: “Four-score and seven years ago…”

Harrisburg Patriot & Union newspaper: “We pass over the silly remarks of the President. For the credit of the nation, we are willing that the veil of oblivion shall be dropped over them and that they shall be no more repeated or thought of.”

Actually, that last quote was what a reporter actually wrote about Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, now considered one of the greatest speeches in US history. In his time, Lincoln was also called dishonest, an “unshapely man,” a yahoo, a barbarian, a gorilla and an idiot.

At least the Harrisburg newspaper finally retracted its pan of the Gettysburg Address on its 150th anniversary. Wonder how long it will take the media to admit that, in fact, Trump was not an idiot, but quite a few of the people covering him were.

I'm a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer. I watched the President and he never said inject yourself with Lysol. People assume a disinfectant is a name brand bleaching product. The definition of disinfect means to clean it using a substance that kills germs. (We Americans are guilty of using the commercial name of a product in place of the product (Example: we call tissues Kleenex). Second I'm in contact with a friend who is a Navy Corpsman. He recommended if anyone is willing to do the research, Google NAVMED P5010. It tells the Navy how to sanitize their water supply ashore and afloat. This includes the 400 gallon metal water buffalos used for potable (Drinkable) water during land operations (You know the kind like when the Seabees build stuff and the Navy and Marines get involved in operations. The last thing the President actully said during that conversation: Check with a doctor!

If the media was any good at digging up a real story, they might do an expose on why the majority of Americans find them untrustworthy and irrelevant.

Praying for common sense and wisdom for the American people to see how the media has become like two year olds having temper tantrums vying for attention and no one believes anything they are saying.

Mike, could you clarify on the disinfectant comment. I have listened to the video clip several times. It appears that he did say that the disinfectant knocks it out, perhapsWe could inject it. His tone was not sarcastic. Maybe there’s something in the context that I’m not getting. Thank you!

Bullies, that's what they are. Overgrown adolescents who shun respect and decency. They have given up on what journalism can and should be. They have traded what might once have been the highest goals of communication for the worship of their own egos. They make themselves small minded and mean while competing with one another for who can make the most outrageous headline. Their shameful behavior belies the uselessness of their very existence

It is sad that the majority of Democratic voters and apparently school age children, do not know the meaning of Socialism and what the end result will be. The major news network definitely have an agenda. When the stories they tell so adamantly are being pushed, what exactly is the news they are letting slip by unaware to most? Why are they trying to divide the county? Why are they pitting people against people?
There is a saying, "You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink". The wake up call has started, people do not have to drink the contaminated water.
Think for yourself. Do your own research. The truth shall set you free.

I have listened to the pertinent clips from the President's briefing, concerning "disinfectants" as possible Covid-19 Treatment. He was clearly talking about the researchers possibly looking into certain things - not saying these treatments were here now, and not saying to try these on your own - clearly saying that these things could be looked into. Well - the things he was mentioning are real, not science fiction or delusions. Real. Regarding "disinfectants," if you go to the U.S. government website for clinical trials you can search as I did and find that there is an actual clinical trial for chlorine, a registered trial for use of chlorine - to be taken internally according to a protocol, to see if this will be a treatment for corona virus. It's not a U.S. trial, it's in Bogota, Colombia, but it is a real trial; not drinking Clorox, but a very precise dose of chlorine in a form they think is likely to help and not harm. So, we'll see on that, but it's being done at hospitals and medical centers, and is under supervision of MD's and researchers - so it's not something the President made up. In addition, I found a couple articles using UV light as an internal "disinfectant," something else that the President mentioned. After it had been said that corona virus is killed in a matter of seconds by UV light, the President mentioned something about looking into this also, could this go into the lungs? The answer is yes. Cedars-Sinai has developed a device that has an LED light that emits UVA but filters out the harmful UVB and UVC. The little light is attached to something similar to bronchoscope, and it is designed to go into the lungs. It is called the Healight. Cedars-Sinai is now in discussion with the FDA regarding possibly obtaining expedited regulatory approval. If the lamestream media had actually done their job, I would know how much prior research if any has already been done - has this been tried on human patients already? How many? I just know the device exists, and that it will safely emit just the good germ-killing UVA and filter out the harmful UV spectrum - and that Cedars-Sinai and FDA are talking. About possibly expediting. The headline here mentions using UV light to "disinfect" the lungs. https://townhall.com/tipsheet/bronsonstocking/2020/04/24/potential-wuhan-coronavirus-treatment-uses-uv-light-to-disinfect-lungs-n2567591?utm_source=thdailypm&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=nl_pm&newsletterad&bcid=d462b7e9373d4bd5a3ca328ff20101d7&recip=18001886&fbclid=IwAR12ODqQ6eudcrcrMK414S59KN4BLgq0lTf5BJWRy-t9rjxA7icL-93s9V0 But, the lamestream media automatically disbelieve everything the President says and were too busy mocking and criticizing to research the real stories. There was actual "news" there that most totally missed. I do think the President is right to call off the briefings which are becoming toxic by actions of the news media, but I wonder if he could do occasional briefings by giving prepared comments on camera and posting videos at a government webpage - to update anyone who wants to know concerning any real news from the White House? Anyone who has his ear might suggest that. Shorter presentations, prepared, and no questions in that presentation. If there is to be some form of Q & A, for contentious situations - as much of a circus as these have become, I wonder about taking questions in writing only. I know Dr. Fauci previously said these press briefings have been very wearying because of all the hostility and hostile questions, and actually it is becoming so for the public - wearying to see the harsh criticism of the President, based on ignorance and laziness, since anyone there in the briefing might have discovered the science behind what the President said - and the AP, to their credit did report on the potential UV treatment, though clearly most news outlets did not report on this.

    Urgent message for President Trump,
In light of the obvious signs of stress being visited upon you, my prayers have become ever more urgent. Because I do believe that you are the right person at the right time for the right reasons, I awoke at 3:00 AM today with the following admonition running through and trough my mind.
I realize this seems to be a harsh rebuke, but is coming at the most critical time as we begin to consider how to move forward in the face of tremendous ongoing risk.
    The message:
Please pray for prudence! Stop becoming engaged in schoolyard one-upmanship wih fools in the press corps who are baiting traps. Your “sarcastic” (?) musings about obviously ludicrous “solutions” to the health crisis and your self-conscious protection of unwarrented pride are compromising character, responsibility and competence as leader of faithful, responsible people. You are at great risk of becoming a frightening figure in the eyes of new generations. I personally am not amused by anyone who exhibits disdain for science upon which we must depend for real solutions and discredits scientists in the same manner as fools discredit the love of God upon whom we must depend to lead us to victory over the unknown.
Please be mindful that “the difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits” (Einstein). If you choose to continue in your current “style”, you risk forfeit of the credentials of your office and risk losing the support of those who fear that you are allowing yourself to be swallowed up in the swamp we elected you to drain. Never give up!
May God Bless you and may God use you to lead America forward along the path of faith charted by our Founding fathers.

The media has taken too much liberty with America's freedom of speech. I thought to deliberately defame and destroy someone's reputation was against the law. Should the FCC or the courts take action against the networks and withdraw their licenses for their blatant lying about the PONTUS?

Fools are too proud to search for truth. Money is their main focus. One day it will come back on them. Fake news will be held accountable for every word they have spoken. It may or may not happen here, but it will come to pass. They will not escape it.

Anyone with a fourth of a brain and an ounce of common Sense should know that the mainstream media in this country cannot and should not be trusted. They work for the Democrats who also should never be trusted. Both want to destroy the Nation that our Founding Fathers worked so hard to establish with our beloved Constitution. The mainstream media and the Democrats need to be called out every week. Republicans, Patriots and American loving, God fearing people and politicians need to stand up and against the MSM and Democrats. We as a Nation are at a major tipping point with the next election. We will either keep President Trump and our Nation or lose it to the power hungry socialist loving MSM and the Democrats. Prepare now for masses to go to the polls in November and vote against every Democrat on the ballot !!!!

Re: The media realizing that Trumpis not an idiotic psychopath, etc:

It will probably be about the same time frame that the Harrisburg newspaper took to retract the panning ng if Lincoln's speech.

Interestingly, one one bothered to record the TWO AND A HALF HOUR long speech given by an accredited professional speaker that proceeded Lincoln's "remarks" as the person introducing the President said. Think about THAT for.....Oh, say...3 minutes.

President Trump is a genius in the way he is playing the fake news media. And the American people can see through their lies and stupidity. These daily briefings are getting high ratings and I am really enjoying them - although they are a poor substitute when compared to a Trump rally. In the meantime, Joe Biden is losing ground with every gaff he utters. The Democrats are in tatters looking forward to the upcoming 2020 elections especially when Nancy Pelosi and other congressional Democrats continue their futile attempts to destroy Trump's MAGA agenda including the American economy. President Trump will win by a landslide in November - assuming that the Democrats don't pull off massive voter fraud.
