Federal Judge blocks Kansas Governor

April 21, 2020 |

Saturday, a federal judge in Kansas blocked Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly’s executive order restricting church services in the name of stopping the coronavirus. As the state attorney general, who opposed Kelly’s order, put it, the government can tell churches that they shouldn’t hold services during this time, but it doesn’t have the power to ban them. This is the latest of several cases across America where judges have had to remind liberal officials that they don’t have the power to rescind the First Amendment.

While it is certainly prudent for churches to protect their members by holding online services or drive-in services (although even those have been targeted for no good reason), the judge in this case pointed out that the Governor’s ban on large public gatherings includes 26 secular exceptions, including bars, libraries and shopping malls. Her order seems to specifically, and unconstitutionally, target religion. For instance, the judge noted that a large group could meet in an office building to conduct a real estate deal, but not to hold a Bible study.

Gov. Kelly vowed to fight the judge’s order, saying, “This is not about religion. This is about a public health crisis.” I’d say it’s about more than that. It’s about a public health crisis and about how some public officials will use a crisis to advance a political agenda. We all want to stamp out the coronavirus, but let’s make sure that in the process, we don’t succumb to an even worse virus that kills off our Constitutional rights.

This is not even about the virus. It has been proven by several recent studies, including Stanford, that Civid-19 is no more deadly than our yearly flu. The virus is just a hoax to have Americans lose their civil liberties in the name of Globalization. This shut down is global and people every where are losing their liberties for a much bigger plan.

What I do not understand is why i this country is it ok to go to Walmart but not Church? I go to a small Church in FL, (DeSantis is good) and we are mtg weekly... only 10 people, 8 people including me are attending, udually we are between 50-75 attending. We wash hands coming an going, sit far away from each other, everything sanitized... no fear for me. Go to Walmart and see what it looks like... out of control and I know not all clean or even hand washing being done. It is just another ploy to get people to stop going to Church. Our Church has a food bank, AA mtgs, etc. We are struggling. Not a mega Church with high tech equipment. People should go to Church and not stay home.

We are in a crucial fight for our constitutional freedoms and power hungry leftists are going to take every advantage to become rulers instead of servants of the people.

I agree with the judge. Our Governor here has shut down our churches. I don't get as much out of a service as I do when I am in a live church service and fellowship.

It’s obvious to most of us what is going on here with our Democratic Governors. I live in Wa state and the same is here . We can have the unions working and other Inslee supporter groups but not the small business owners! These governors seem to want the economy to crash so they can blame you know who! Trump 2020

Governor Laura Kelly should be recalled, fact is, she should never have been elected. She is a dangerous politician and is a detriment to our Kansas way of life. Recall her and get her out of office as soon as possible. I'll sign the petition as well as thousands of others will do so.
