President Trump Accepts the Nomination

August 28, 2020 |

I’m not going to have a detailed write-up of night four of the Republican Convention because I was out late last night. My wife Janet and I were on the White House lawn, watching history be made as President Trump accepted the nomination for reelection. And we got home late for three reasons:

1. Trump spoke for 72 minutes (the Dems considered it a miracle that Biden spoke for 20 minutes, and Trump did something Biden could never do: he ad-libbed.)

2. That magnificent fireworks show that seemed to go on and on. One commentator said that Trump was giving Americans the July 4th fireworks display that the Chinese virus denied them. When the sparks actually spelled out “TRUMP 2020” in the sky over Washington, I swear the booming noise was the sound of liberal heads exploding.

3. We had to wait to get past the mob of threatening protesters who’d shown up (with prop guillotines) to make Trump’s point that they are the violent enemies of free speech and freedom of thought. Rand Paul said he was attacked by a crazed mob of over 100 people and credited the DC Police with saving him.

This was one time when I was glad we had our face masks since Janet and I were able to don ours and leave with the crowd without being recognized. (Yes, Twitter scolds, we had masks, even though it was outside in the wind, the least likely place to transmit a virus.)

Incidentally, it was reported that even the “protesters” shut up for a while and watched the fireworks show. Maybe it came as a surprise to them that you could shoot fireworks into the air rather than just at cops or into occupied buildings.

Steven Kruiser at PJ Media had a great observation on how we know that the Dems realize how good this speech and the convention overall were: by the way they’re running around barking, “Hatch Act!,” like scared Chihuahuas.

The theme of the final night was “Land of Greatness.” Even though Trump loves to use the word “great” bombastically, this night seemed completely sincere in its message that Republicans see America not as an irredeemably racist, imperialist colonizer with a shameful history that must be torn down, but as the greatest nation ever created…one that may never have been perfect, but that has constantly pursued perfection, even at great struggle and cost. Americans aren’t bound by a single race or culture, but by the fact that we are all the descendants of the people in foreign lands who looked around and said, “There’s got to be someplace better than this,” and who had the guts to risk everything to find it.

Whereas the Democrats want to dismantle America and scare everyone into lowering their expectations, Republicans see America as a big nation of big ideas, big dreams and big, seemingly impossible accomplishments. This is the nation that decided not only to put a man on the moon, and to do it within the decade, but accomplished it with five months to spare. I wonder what JFK would think of his Party now, led by a group of tunnel-visioned bunglers who can’t even keep the lights on in California.

was great! I wasn't sure if that was by invitation or open to all as it was at Whitehouse, and evil liberal media had a fit, were furious! Gotta love it! Let's Pray/Stand/Vote Trump/Pence Nov 3rd! Praise the Lord Jesus Christ!

Governor, we love your show and your comments online! Have you thought about having the Hodgetwins on your show? They are terrific black conservative commentators (twin brothers). They are great! Thanks, Mike & Ellen Conners

Thank you for continuing to support Pres. Trump. My husband and I both supported your campaign for president because you are a Christian. I have not voted democrat since Carter. Praise God for all that you and your family are doing to help this country. I truly admire Sarah as well. May God bless her and her family.

I found the RNC Convention to be stunning. Regular people told their stories while the MSM cut away or talked over their speeches. I found the President's speech to be long but necessary as the MSM, CNN, MSNBC had to show it. The President was able to recap his accomplishments over the first four years, offer plans for the next four years, and contrast his platform with Joe Biden's without the spin of the press. This election is truly a choice between freedom and darkness. Freedom became much more possible after the RNC Convention.

It was a very heartwarming and heart filling excellent speech ! The way I wanted it heard by the world!!! The left had a meltdown as they had envy in their hearts for him. They’re hatred for him is ingrown deep inside as satan dictates them to be!!!! God help them.

The Democrats and their apologists in the media were so over-the-line rude and dismissive of the articulate and wonderful black men and women who spoke during the RNC convention that I was offended for them! Only a bunch of privileged, spoiled leftists would dare to lecture black people in that fashion in our nation at this time.

I agree brother. Our president was masterful! However I wish the RNC would have taken the high road and not did so much mocking of Biden! That brought them down in my humble opinion. Other than that it was wonderful! Trump/Pence 2020

The Republican Convention was one of the most hopeful I have ever seen. Sheila Griffin gives a list of what President Trump has done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJS2OKG36IY&t=20s

I just told my husband that Mike Huckabee is my favorite "go to" commenter. Thank you for sharing your experience on the White House lawn, especially about the fireworks that spelled out "Trump 2020." Your observations always ring with truth and your humorous comments drive the point home with no ugly hatred to mar them. God bless you and your beautiful wife, God bless President Trump, and God bless America!

President Trump’s leadership is exactly the thing that can MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. President Trump is the epitome of HOPE, with respect for all.
Compare that with the HOPELESS DISTAIN being offered by the DNC.
Joe Biden epitomizes the Apostle Paul’s point about the person who observed himself in a mirror and immediately forgets what he saw in that reflection. Well, when there is only emptiness, what is there to observe?

Thank God for sensible people like you that tell it how it is. You are a true Patriot. I would love to hear your thoughts on conservative clubs on college campuses. How can we support these brave young people that are made to believe that their conservative ideology is radical, racist and bigoted where it is the furthest from the truth. Our son has been involved with a club and we have had his club members over at our home and to be honest they are the very people that a parent would want for their child to have as friends. They are smart, respectful and very culturally diverse. How these colleges and their professors don’t support these groups is beyond me!

In gross frustration, I wrote the following Poem regarding the Bidens. Feel free to use it.

Poem - Joek (Joke) and Jill
Joek and Jill snuck up Cap Hill to try and steal more money,
Joek fell down, cause he's a clown, and Jill is just real scummy.

The Trump family members were awesome. Our First Lady elegant and beautiful....PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!
President Trump’s speech was from the heart recognizing so many fellow Americans. He spoke of the good that he along with his supporters has been able to achieve. Records broken for employment for ALL. Record stock market numbers. Bringing jobs back to America. Making America Great Again. Standing up for what is right FOR Americans. Negotiating peace with countries normally at odds with each other. Eliminating roadblocks to building so much good for our country. Stopping countries from taking unfair advantage of America. And so much more.
We will recover from Covid 19 without making many Americans dependent on government as the Democrats want to do.
“The Best is yet to come”
God bless President Trump and God bless America.
    Let freedom ring!

Seems we cant win a fight without knowing who our enemy really is - mot the protestors, not the rioters bit the people behind them - they care mot about issues or rationalizing with them or about them- they are paid and thats that!!!

Letting ordinary people from wide variety of backgrounds and life experiences was pure genius of Republican convention. I related to Sandmann, cried when mother and father of humanitarian worker raped and killed by alBaghdadi. Giuliani, Tom Cotton, Melania, Tim Scott, Maximo Alvarez, Alice Johnson—so many good people. President Trump— hope he gets 4 more years as our President.

The politicians, general public, media (although I am confident that the left wing media cannot grasp the concept) need to recognize the so called "protestors" as nothing more than paid domestic terrorists. The federal government must investigate which of the left wing socialist millionaires/billionaires are funding these terrorists. I would bet my bottom dollar that George Soros and his organization are front and center along with others. Soros foundation should be declared a terrorist organization and he should be stripped of his citizenship and deported to whatever country will take him. The domestic terrorists should be treated as such, arrested, tried and put in prison. This anarchy must be stopped and the federal government is the only organization that has the intestinal fortitude, know how, and willingness to take this on.

    Sir,
Thank you for your positive response to the Convention last night. I am so happy that there are real thinkers in positions of influence and power, who just want a peaceful, dynamic, God-fearing country as ours has been until lately. I shudder to think that this crud will go on much longer. I so want my children and grandchildren to have the same opportunities that I have enjoyed in this most special country throughout my life.
Again, thank you for your comments, and may our God continue to bless you always.
    Sincerely,
Elizabeth (Betty) Landen, Proud life-long Republican

In regards to " America First! " The democrats don't like this motto. I was outside of Kohl's Department Store waiting for my wife, when I heard this on the ACLJ show with Jay Sekulow. And it dawned on me. Supposing the President of Kohl's didn't put Kohl's first? He'd be in the unemployment line before the sun set that day. I cannot imagine him saying we're going to help out Target, Walmart, Macy's and any other retailer who wants our help first!
I expect any leader of a country anywhere in the world would want to put his country first and would negotiate for mutual benefits with his country first in mind.
I learned that when I was eight years old trading baseball cards and marbles.

I live in orange county, California. I love it here. I think it’s a great my only big complaint is Newsom. When is he going to lift the ban from us being able to sing in church?
