Rep. Ilhan Omar has once again made comments about the leader of Israel that would be denounced as anti-Semitic, eliminationist hate speech if they came from President Trump or his supporters.  But you might have noticed that they didn’t, and never do.  Stuff like this comes from her an awful lot, though.

With the Democrat candidates for President on video promising on their first day in office to raise taxes, bloat government, confiscate guns, spend umpteen trillions of dollars on things like free health care for illegal immigrants, and shut down the domestic oil and gas industries, I can’t wait to see the campaign ads Trump and the RNC will be running. But those ads don’t have to be all negative.  Trump can point to successes at crushing ISIS, renegotiating trade deals, standing up to China and Iran, and especially the record low unemployment numbers and booming economy.  At the link, Dick Morris spotlights another statistic that I haven’t heard anyone else point out yet:

https://www.westernjournal.com/dick-morris-us-sees-big-jump-personal-income/

Between 2014 and 2018, inflation-adjusted median household income has risen from $55,913 to $63,179.  Despite the brazen lies by Democrats amplified by the media until many Americans actually believed them, the benefits of this economy are not all going to the wealthy and corporations while middle-class Americans are doing worse and paying higher taxes.  In fact, Census figures show that the average American family has $7,266 more in their pockets per year than in 2014.  Since 1999, inflation-adjusted median household income had risen by just 2.7%, but in the past four years, it’s risen by 13%.

Of course, I can already hear the Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) responding, “That’s because Trump inherited the booming Obama economy!”  All right, here are a few of the reasons why household income has jumped:

The 2017 tax cut put more money in consumer’s pockets and gave companies more money to expand and hire…Renegotiated trade deals and tariffs on China reduced imports and goosed American manufacturing…Taking the chains off domestic energy production kept fuel costs low and supplies stable…Increased border security and immigration enforcement discouraged the hiring of cheap illegal labor, boosting job opportunities and pay for American workers.

Okay, pop quiz: Which of those policies are carryovers from the Obama Administration?

Anyone?...Anyone?...Bueller?...

------------------------------------

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez declared that not only should Congress forgive all student loan debt, but at the same time, they should pass a bill making college tuition-free for everyone.

https://pjmedia.com/trending/ocasio-cortez-free-public-college-should-be-passed-at-same-time-as-student-loan-forgiveness/

I can be generous, too, so I’ll grant that she has a kernel of truth buried in her rationale.  She said if you don’t make college free after forgiving all student loan debt, “then you do recreate the problem. Then it's just kind of a one-swoop forgiveness, but then the costs continue to mount for people, so that's why tuition-free public colleges and universities are really important to pass at the same time as student loan forgiveness.”

So she’s correct that if you keep charging tuition, future students will still have to keep paying, and likely borrowing money because college is so unaffordable. But why has tuition risen at a rate over three times that of inflation and nearly 8 times faster than wages?

There are a number of factors, some of which are explained here:

https://www.cnbc.com/2015/06/16/why-college-costs-are-so-high-and-rising.html

Chief among them are higher spending on things that have nothing to do with teaching, such as amenities meant to attract  students; high pay for name professors (regular teachers’ salaries have been reasonably flat); an explosion of administrators who have nothing to do with teaching but handle everything from government paperwork to policing “diversity;” and paying for money-losing sports programs to balance out the popular sports programs as mandated by Title IX (note how many of these things are a result of government meddling in education.) Also, the costs have kept rising for years because of access to more and more government money (costs always expand to fit the available budget.)  But the burden fell more on students after the 2009 meltdown forced state governments to shift funds to cover expensive entitlement programs like Medicaid (which AOC wants to give to EVERYBODY, including illegal immigrants.)

Here’s where I have to let her in on a depressing secret: nothing about college will ever be “free.”  Even if college is “tuition-free,” someone still has to pay for it. Pushing some of the cost onto government only encouraged colleges to make it more expensive, so you can imagine what the bills will look like if government picks up the entire tab.

And where will all that money come from?  From big trees that grow in the shade of all the windmills that will provide 100% of our future energy needs?  No, from taxpayers, and not just “the richest 1%.”  Even if you took 100% of their wealth, it wouldn’t pay for all the Democrats’ spending schemes for more than a few weeks. It will come from all of us.

“Tuition-free college” would cost as much if not more than ever, except even people who don’t go to college would have to give up more of their hard-earned pay in taxes to cover the cost of people who do go.  This is how AOC defines “fairness,” and if you complain about having to pay for other people’s expensive lifestyle decisions, you’re selfish.

So I think student loan forgiveness and “tuition-free college” are unworkable, unaffordable and unfair pie-in-the-sky ideas, but I’m willing to compromise with her.  How about a bill requiring that everyone who got an economics degree from Boston University should get a full tuition refund?

Paying for everything free. There is another part to this equation: More people are applying for Public Assistance every year, which reduces the pile of money. Still others see their friends & relatives getting welfare and decide to join them. I came close to cashing out when my company decided they did not need the over 50 managers and "Downsized". Have an auction, sell the house, hide the money and tell Uncle Sam I want a ticket on the U.S. Gravy Train. But that day is coming for many who worked their whole life and are tired of everything that screws our retirement. We the People might decide to NOT foot the bill anymore... Then what?
However I am one the dying breed. We believe in towing the line, Defending Freedom and Paying our way not to mention a fair share for the others that can't work.
We don't need migrant workers to do "the others won't" we just need a system that gives you Help NOT everything. Oh wait that was the one thing that Clinton did right Work Fair!

I wish Fox News would have you on to present this piece. People just don't get it. Nothing is "free" if our government (we the people) is paying for it. It only gets more expensive. The fact that the citizens of this country don't understand this means our education system and the liberal media have been doing "a number" on us for the past 50 years. We all have to pray for God to correct these issues with our help and show us how to do what is needed to fix our schools from Kindergarten on up so education supports our nation instead of undermining it.

As commented before the best free weapon the GOP is to keep these people on the Left talking and let the hearing be televised watching misfits like Nadler Cummings Maxie Waters Jackson Booker Harris Blumenthal these anti American values haters only validates how they want to ruin the United States. They are like the Terrorists that used our planes to to destroy our buildings and kill our citizens these people are trying to destroy the US while the taxpayer pays them to do so they use a different method but they have one common interest destroy America. Let America see what their bottom line is the destruction of the US I am hopeful they won't succeed. Every agenda they have is against our American values look at what is happening to our once beautiful cities I wound't visit them.

Brother Mike, please follow and report on the Daleiden case. I think Kamala Harris was the one whose illegal search warrant has been questioned, even by those who had to go to Daleiden's home to confiscate the tapes of negotiations for beating hearts and brains at Planned Parenthood. If this is too strong for your younger readers, just read and delete. It is so important to be praying for the lawyer from the Thomas More Society, Peter Breen (sp?) who is like Saint George fighting the dragon. Have you seen the list of companies which donate to Planned Parenthood, according to Family Council? I try to boycott them but there are so many. Blessings and best regards to you and your amazing family. Keep us laughing so we don't cry, Brother Mike.

Not only is student loan forgiveness and "free" college tuition ridiculous, it is also not fair to anyone who already paid off student loan debt, or paid for their kids' college tuition. If going forward, students get to ditch their student loans, then I want a check to compensate me for the $180,000 I paid to send my kids to college! It also means that I, after paying for my kids' college, will get to pay for someone else's kid's tuition.

I wonder if the dozens of Democrats are running for president, knowing they can't win, but are making lots of money....possibly given to them by Soros, the Clintons, or elite Trump haters. Along with the money they are given instructions and speeches to spread their hate messages.
Also, Thank you for giving me a chance to blow off some steam about the insanity going on in our Country. You are a true gentleman and a Patriot and I respect you.

    Alexandria Cortez---
I watched her rise to the Congress--she complained --Loudly-- of the cost to go to Washington--she also complained about the "capitalistic" society we live in - and that it needed to be defeated--I notice that she did NOT complain about the paycheck she finally got from this "capitalistic" society so she could finally get a "decent place" to live in DC--
This same criticism was sent to her Publically funded email--no reply as yet
    What a waste of skin!

omar is hoping for someone who agrees with her that peace in the middle east is to banish Israel forever.

So, the democrat wanna-be's and all they are going to do, seemingly on the first day in office--now, are they just going to be an executive order president? Kind of ignore not only the Constitution, but ignore all of Congress? Just bypass them altogether?

The left is so delusional. Just like crying when comey was fired after they had called for MONTHS for him to be fired, now they are crying about Bolton who they cried about when he was named to the cabinet. It truely is--they will disagree with anything President Trump says or does, even when they agree with him. And, yes, I have read that all the good going on in our country today is just that all of obama's efforts are just coming to fruition. So, why did he say, gosh, guess all those shovel ready jobs aren't really there? Or, good luck, Donald Trump, with getting industries back from overseas, you don't have a magic wand. Well, no, no magic wand, just working and negotiating for the USofA instead of kissing the feet of world leaders, apologizing for America. You remember--all that went wrong during obama's tenure was the fault of GWB--even in the 8th year (which, if that were true, would show what an ineffectual president he was.) So IF (God forbid) one of the leftists became President, once our country would go to hell in hand basket (and you know it would) they would claim that it is all residual effects of President Trump's tenure.

AOC getting a refund would Start a stamped to the admissions Office across the nation! Thinking about that might be a GOOD Idea. Maybe? Just MAYBE they would wake up and start TEACHING again before the Endowment funds dry up. Academia has had a Free Pass only surpassed my the media( Hollyweird included). Now even the ONCE reputable NYTimes has abandoned Journalistic Standards. In My mind I cannot see any way the D's can even retain the House much less win the Presidency BUT; The media's feeling have been hurt and the Steady March to Socialism has been INTERRUPTED but they are already doubling down on doing what ever they can to oust Trump and anyone who Thinks. Now we find out that studies are showing Alphabet ( aka Google) has demonstrated they CAN SWAY up to 80% ( in some cases) of the OPINIONS their users are exposed to. It's Subliminal in ways we have never witnessed or at least studied before. So tampering with the ballot boxes will no longer be necessary Just send everybody to Google Search.

If the government pays for all college then they can control what is taught. If you want free education join the military, oh yeah, a lot of college students don't meet military standards.

    Dear Gov. Huckabee,
I feel like a bit of an odd ball in this day to say that my son graduated from a Big 10 school with a BS in Accounting with $0 student debt. Between his parents and grandparents, we had invested early and had sufficient funding to cover it. My issue is this. We pay taxes in our state and a portion of those go to colleges. Students from this state pay in-state tuition. Students from any other state get tagged with out-of-state tuition. My beef is that since my son went out-of-state, we got tagged. All my tax dollars were for naught. My proposed solution to this is simple. Any out-of-state student will be charged or refunded the difference in the amount between in-state and out-of-state tuition. Every state would reimburse the cost to the attended university of the students home state's in-state cost. The really crazy part is that my niece lives in the state in which my son went to college while she is attending college in our state. Ya gotta love it.

If the top 1% saw a nice growth in income and no one else did, would that not still have the effect of raising the median income? It is perhaps true that middle class households are benefiting, but can't we find data to show that for certain?
