I guess we must live in a golden age of racial harmony if people who need racism to make a living are forced to resort to concocting phony attacks and digging up 48-year-old interviews to find something to get outraged about. The latest "news" is that someone read a Playboy interview with John Wayne that's been readily available to the public since 1971, and in it, Wayne said some things about gays and minorities that are verboten in 2019 Hollywood. Of course, this actually came as news to the Twitter SJW mobs who are desperate to find something to get outraged about every day before breakfast. Wait'll they find out what Bugs Bunny said about the Japanese in 1944!
So...what do they want us to do? Stop John Wayne from making any more movies? I think that's already covered. Never watch "Stagecoach," "The Searchers," "McLintock," "The Quiet Man" or any other classic movie starring the Duke again? No can do (tell you what, when Hollywood starts making new movies that good again, I'll start watching them instead of the old ones.)
Say, here's a great suggestion! If we're going to dig up politically-incorrect statements to attack people who've been dead for over half a century, how about doing it to someone who still has an inexplicable influence on naive young Americans and who richly deserves to have his unjustly-inflated reputation thrown down the hole of history? John Ellis at PJ Media has the perfect candidate: that dreamy, romantic-looking communist murderer and homophobic racist, Che Guevara:
------------------------
As long as we’re digging up outrageous things the late John Wayne said decades ago, turnabout is fair play, so here’s a video from 1985 of the latest Democratic Presidential hopeful (I think he’s the latest, although five more might have jumped in the race since I started typing this sentence), Bernie Sanders. He lauds Cuban communist dictator Fidel Castro and runs PR interference for Daniel Ortega and the Nicaraguan Sandanistas against what he laughably claims was a biased pro-Reagan US media.
Of course, if anything, this will actually help Bernie in today’s Democratic Party. If you really want to hurt him, circulate this interview from 1987 where he admitted that providing Medicare for every American would cost “such an astronomical sum of money that, you know, we would bankrupt the nation." That kind of lucid expression of financial reality would destroy his chances of winning the Democratic nomination.

Last night, the Trump Administration launched a global campaign to end the criminalization of homosexuality in dozens of nations where it’s still illegal to be gay. In some cases, it can be deadly, as in the recent reported execution by hanging of a young gay man in Iran. The campaign will be led by our ambassador to Germany, Richard Grenell, the highest-profile openly gay person in the Trump administration, who is consulting with LGBT activists from across Europe to formulate a strategy.
So between this, the lowest unemployment rates in history for Hispanic and African-Americans, and all the sanctions and aggressive policies against Russia, I guess liberals will now say that not only is Trump a homophobic, bigoted Putin puppet, but he’s also the most incompetent homophobic, bigoted Putin puppet EVER!

The attorney for Nicholas Sandmann means what he says. The Covington Catholic school student was smeared far and wide in a fake news story that accused him of accosting a Native American activist who actually got in Sandmann’s face, and his attorney gave media outlets and celebrities a deadline to remove their tweets and retract their stories or they would face legal consequences. Well, to use a phrase I’m sure liberals are familiar with, “Time’s up!”
Tuesday, Sandmann’s lawyer announced a defamation lawsuit against the Washington Post for $250 million in compensatory and punitive damages. The paper’s lawyers replied that they “plan to mount a vigorous defense,” which I assume will be based on technicalities that block them from facing the consequences of their actions, not on arguing that they didn’t defame an innocent high school kid.
Here’s a compromise solution: since $250 million is exactly the amount that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos paid to buy the Washington Post, why not just give it to Sandmann? If it’s going to keep running fake news that gets it sued, then it’s more trouble to Bezos than it’s worth. And I have no doubt whatsoever that a teenage Catholic school student from Kentucky could do a far better job of running an honest newspaper than the people currently in charge at WaPo. Everybody wins! Well, except people who push fake news to defame people they disagree with politically, and I’m really pretty tired of them winning.

Sen. Bernie Sanders made his entry into the 2020 Democratic Presidential race official yesterday with a pair of interviews that were frankly sad for the way they illustrated how far off the leftward cliff the Democratic Party has leaped.
Just a few years ago, Sanders made many populist points that sounded similar to some of Trump’s points, about both parties being beholden to Wall Street and ignoring the problems of working Americans. He was even realistic enough to admit that “Medicare for All” would be too expensive to implement. You could easily imagine that after Trump’s win, he might have even sought out Trump to work on issues of mutual agreement.
Sadly, Trump’s victory sparked the “Resistance” epidemic and the mental hysteria that’s gripped the party ever since. Democrats were so furious at Trump for beating Hillary Clinton that they absolutely refused to work with him or even acknowledge that he's President. They took their mindless opposition so far that they now reflexively oppose anything he supports, even building a border wall they once voted to fund. In the midterms, they elected politicians so radical, they couldn’t even applaud a child who beat cancer if she was introduced by Trump.
Thanks to that mass attack of partisan delirium, socialist Bernie Sanders actually now finds himself not far enough to the left for today’s Democrats. So in his opening interviews, he introduced Bernie 2.0. This Bernie not only embraces Medicare For All, but also the “Green New Deal” and a $15-an-hour national minimum wage, among other proven disastrous policies. And to appeal to the rage-based base, he has to parrot all the by-now cliched attacks on Trump, which he did, ranting that the President is “a pathological liar, a fraud, a racist, a sexist, a xenophobe and someone who is undermining American democracy as he leads us in an authoritarian direction” (pardon me while I try to control my laughter at a socialist denouncing authoritarian government.)
Unfortunately for Bernie, he’s been left behind not only by people who are so far left that they make a old-style socialist look like Ronald Reagan, but also by the era of identity politics. He implored fellow Democrats, “We have got to look at candidates, you know, not by the color of their skin, not by their sexual orientation or their gender and not by their age. I think we have got to try to move us toward a nondiscriminatory society which looks at people based on their abilities, based on what they stand for.”
Talk about the kiss of death in today’s Democratic Party! Paraphrasing the Rev. Martin Luther King will get you nowhere with this crowd, which is obsessed with the color of people’s skin and to heck with the content of their character. Bernie can try to out-socialist the new socialists, but there’s no way he can overcome the fact that he represents everything the modern Democratic Party leadership and activist branch disdains: he’s old, white, straight, male, wealthy and Jewish.

Incidentally, if you think my implication that the current Democratic leadership is tolerating anti-Semitism is somehow unfair, then read this excellent op-ed making the same point in detail. It’s written by female Muslin immigrant, Dr. Qanta A. Ahmed.

As the alleged hate crime against actor Jussie Smollett has started raising more red flags than a Chinese military parade, some are continuing to defend him on grounds that if this turns out to be a hoax, nobody will believe future claims of attacks by victims of real hate crimes. That’s nonsense: I gave Smollett the benefit of the doubt when he first made his claim, and that was in spite of having lived through these 21 hoax hate crimes that were also blamed on President Trump and/or his supporters.
https://www.westernjournal.com/list-hoax-hate-crimes-trump-era/
And that list doesn’t even include “fake news” hoaxes perpetrated by the media, from all the anti-Trump stories to Rolling Stone’s false rape allegation against a fraternity. Americans don’t assume that everyone lies about being attacked, just because some unscrupulous people do. But let’s hope that by now, unscrupulous people are finally learning that we don’t assume everyone is telling the truth, either.
We will continue to be concerned about hate crimes because they definitely occur, and in some places, they are on the rise. But it’s not the fault of President Trump or his supporters, who are not the ones ginning up animosity toward the minority population that’s being most targeted while the media, politicians and celebrities are focusing all their attention on hoaxes.

From the “Stay Classy, Liberals” File: Seven-year-old Benton Stevens of Austin, Texas, was so inspired by President Trump’s State of the Union speech that he set up a hot chocolate stand to raise money to help build a wall to secure the border. While he got much support, he also had to endure “liberals” who complained to mall managers and got his stand shut down, attacked him on Facebook, called him a bigot, and one who drove by and yelled, “Little Hitler!”
But in a welcome sign that leftist thug tactics are no longer intimidating Americans, the “Little Hitler” slur was so appalling, it offended even some liberals. His father said, "People who were originally very mean have started apologizing for what they said and sticking up for Benton. He is close to $5,000 raised now and is thinking about doing a free hot chocolate stand for people from both sides of the debate, since there are so many from both sides sticking up for him."
I suppose it’s unrealistic to hope that anyone who would call a seven-year-old boy “Hitler” just for having a different opinion on a political issue would ever read the Bible, and Jesus’ words in Matthew 7:5: “Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.” But maybe this quote will resonate more with them, and it applies to Benton, too: “If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.” – Obi Wan Kenobi, “Star Wars”

Some Democrats who embraced Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Ed Markey’s “Green New Deal” before they knew that inside the gift-wrapped Tiffany’s box was a pile of manure have distanced themselves or simply stopped speaking about it. Others are still trying to defend it by accusing Republicans of misrepresenting it (although, seriously, there’s no need: the best way to convince people that it’s naïve insanity is to encourage them to read it word for word.)
But for those who continue to insist that this combination of bloated government power, socialist fantasies, denial of the laws of both economics and physics, and replacing of the burning of fossil fuels with the burning of trillions of dollars is somehow actually feasible, just look at places where people have tried any of it. Examples of the failure of the socialist parts are too many to count, from the disaster of Venezuela to the rising debt and erosion of the work ethic and family unit in countries that tried handing out free money to those “unwilling to work.” The idea of connecting every city by bullet train was scuttled almost immediately by none other than ultra-liberal California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who killed the high-speed rail line between just two cities, L.A. and San Francisco, after wasting years and tens of billions of dollars trying to complete it.
But what about the real crux of the proposal: replacing all fossil and nuclear fuels with renewable “green” sources? Turns out that’s been tried in a lot of places, too, such as Europe, where it resulted in skyrocketing power bills, energy shortages and buying oil from Russia. But nowhere was green energy pushed more strongly than in Australia, where South Australia has already replaced much of its coal-fueled power with wind and solar, and plans are to expand the scheme to the Eastern power grid.
What has that meant for average Australians? They now pay the highest electricity prices in the world and suffer regular mass power cuts, blackouts and surging voltages that are putting such a strain on the electric grid that it’s in danger of catastrophic failure. Australian politicians are patting themselves on the back for turning Australia into the future of green energy. Read the article at the link and ask yourself if you really want this to be our future. If so, vote Democratic. Then, the last American who still has electricity, please turn out the lights.
---------------------------------
Speaking of green energy fantasies, the mayors of 100 American cities have pledged to go 100% green energy by some random future date with absolutely no idea how to accomplish that or to pay for it if they could. In places that have even started trying, electricity bills are rising faster than a detective’s eyebrows while listening to Jussie Smollett. So why pledge to do something that’s at best impractical and unaffordable and at worst, impossible and financially ruinous? Maybe because saying that you plan to do it can bring big “green energy grant” bucks?
Okay, maybe we’ve finally found the “green” that’s really motivating these people.

Meanwhile, back at the border, where there’s absolutely NO need to increase security, this happened…
…And this…
…And of course, this…

From the “Getting Dizzy From Shaking My Head So Often” Desk: No, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, a border wall would not be “like the Berlin Wall.” The Berlin Wall was built to keep citizens IN, not criminals, drugs and illegal entrants OUT. Big difference. (And I hate to break this to you, but the ones who were trying to get over the Berlin Wall were fleeing socialism.)
