Reminder: If you didn’t see Attorney General Bill Barr’s speech last week on the dangers of the anti-Trump Deep State to our Constitutional system and the rule of law, here’s that video again, along with two key paragraphs that every American needs to hear.  If nothing else, you can tell from the squealing over this speech from the left and the media that Barr hit the nail squarely on the head.

After changing the venue and time at the last minute, showing up in a Kunta Kinte T-shirt that implied he was a slave and refusing to sign a waiver signed by all free agents at tryouts – and after getting a late-season individual tryout that most players wouldn’t get, and being allowed to let Nike turn it into a commercial -  Colin Kaepernick once again complained that he’s a victim who’s being treated unfairly by the NFL.  Partly because, fed up with his prima donna routine, only eight of the original 25 team representatives showed up to watch him.

I guess I was taking a nap when Congress passed the law requiring sports teams to hire obnoxious, egomaniacal troublemakers who alienate fans and kill ticket sales.  But if that is indeed in effect, then here’s my suggestion:

The NFL should create a team just for Kaepernick and his supporters.  Call it the Minneapolis Masochists or the Davenport Dilettantes.  They could skip the National Anthem and just spend the first 10 minutes whining about how unfair the people who sign their fat paychecks are.  It would get them away from teams that want to concentrate on teamwork, winning and pleasing the fans, and it wouldn’t be that expensive.  They’d only have to stage one game.  The other team would win decisively, then Kaepernick’s team would spend the rest of the season suing the company that made the scoreboard for discriminating against them.   Everyone could do what they enjoy doing.  Win-win!

Never Forget:  Good for House Republicans for demanding that ABC News explain why it killed the Jeffrey Epstein story.  And could we add to that demand that ABC and CBS explain why they colluded to smear and fire an innocent woman, just because they mistakenly thought she was a “whistleblower” who exposed ABC’s cover-up of Epstein?  Epstein is still victimizing women from beyond the grave with the help of a complicit media who love whistleblowers, but not when the whistle is being blown on them.

Today’s Must-Read Non-Political Story!  Back in 2017, a Missouri woman named Marlene Brooks received a letter written in a shaky hand.  It was from a neighbor she didn’t know named Wanda.  It read:

Mrs ? Would you consider to become my friend? I’m 90 years old - live alone. All my friends have passed away. I’m so lonesome and scared. Please I pray for someone.”

Brooks and her daughter hurried to Wanda’s house, and they said she was “such a sweet lady” and was “over the moon” to have visitors. She had serious health problems that made it hard for her to go out, and her friends and relatives had gradually passed away, leaving her isolated.  She told Brooks, I hope you didn’t think I was stupid for writing you, but I had to do something. Thank you so much for coming over. I’ve lived here for 50 years and don’t know any of my neighbors.”

Brooks writes, “I also made sure that Wanda knew she can call us at any time and that I’ll be back to spend time with her! I’m sure Wanda and I will have some great times.”

Frank Somerville of KTVU-TV reported the story and wrote, “There are so many others out there who are lonely just like Wanda. I would ask that maybe you consider knocking on their door and saying hi. I know it would mean the world to them. And who knows, maybe you’ll make a new friend.”

This story also reminds us that if you see an elderly person in your neighborhood, maybe just sitting on the porch alone, don’t assume they “don’t want to be bothered” by having someone talk to them.  They might be in a similar situation to Wanda.  This can happen at any time of year, but with both winter and the holidays approaching, it’s a particularly hard time to be alone.  For the elderly, making new friends can be a lifesaver.  And for younger people, having a friend who’s lived through so much real history can be a very enlightening experience.

I’ll leave you with a quote from a great song on this subject by John Prine:

“You know that old trees just grow stronger,

And old rivers grow wilder every day.

Old people just grow lonesome

Waiting for someone to say,

‘Hello in there…Hello.’”

The latest example of “Everything Trump Does Is an OUTRAGE!” involves the criticism of his weekend pardons of two Army veterans accused of war crimes.  Their defenders say they were defending themselves on the battlefield (one was charged with war crimes for killing an alleged Taliban bomb maker.)

At the link, Matt Margolis of PJ Media offers some more details, along with a few examples of people who got pardons from Barack Obama that liberals didn’t get OUTRAGED over in the least.

Speaking of Barack Obama, even President “Fundamentally Transform America” is worried that the current pack of Democratic President candidates are so far-left that they’re unelectable.  At a meeting of the Democracy Alliance in DC, Obama said average Americans want to see things improved, they don’t want revolutionaries vowing to tear down the whole system and rebuild it.

Now, I don’t know if Obama really is alarmed by how far off the leftward deep end his party has dived, or if he wishes they’d just move slower or keep their traps shut about their real intentions until they actually get into power.  But one thing that’s undeniable is that he does know how to win a national election.  So, how did the “progressives” in his party receive his wise advice?

If you guessed that they mocked him, claimed he didn’t know what he was talking about, and pressed the gas pedal even harder toward the leftward cliff, then you win a toy unicorn!  They even created a mocking hashtag (the only thing most of them have ever created) of #TooFarLeft, attached to tweets like “I’m #TooFarLeft because I oppose injustice, inequality and violence!”

No, you’re #TooFarLeft because you support using violence to silence anyone who disagrees with your crazy plans to destroy the economy with open borders and unlimited government spending.

Yeah, yeah, I know: I’m #TooFarRight because I read what you actually say and quote you accurately.

President Trump must not be allowed to testify before those sham Democrat hearing committees headed by Shifty Schiff or Hippo Nadler or Pelosi/Schumer or any of those phonies. They’ve no intention of being just, righteous, fair, truthful, understanding or kind. They’d just humiliate him, and call him every evil, unjust, disgusting names in this world. They’re already calling him charlatan, and what-not. They’re accusing him of the very things they’ve done (H.C. and Obama and others) and are doing now and will be doing!! We see no need nor moral obligation for him to appear before them as they’d never give him a fair shake whatsoever! They’ll twist and turn and make something else of his words which won’t be true or just or honest. It’s not worth the trouble or his attention. They’re all frauds and it’s a kangaroo court! They’re the charlatans! They’ve total disregard for God, man, the Constitution, the Law, the Bible and make up new rules and change the goal posts as they go along suit their agenda. They’ve already ignored, circumvented and violated the Constitution and broken every Law and Biblical Principles. Who are they to judge? They’ve no status to be President’s judge and the jury violating the boundaries that indicate “the separation of powers.” Every one of them – including the Clintons and Obamas should be taken to court and indicted for defamation, lying, spreading falsehood, deceiving American people, trying to bring down the duly elected President and the government, which is high treason and they’ve been planning it the minute his electoral victory was announced! They all should be jailed, and the key thrown away!! They’re not doing their jobs they’ve been elected to do and are wasting time and taxpayers’ money! The President is doing an excellent job in-spite of all the odds are against him when he can’t even breathe normally and if he does, he’d be accused of being alive!! They’re not worth the salt! The President won’t gain anything by it and they’ll probably will have an opportunity to tear him apart! Therefore, let him deny them the satisfaction!! Ms. Pelosi is out of her mind to call President Trump out to testify! Praying for him.

that is why there are calls for impeachment of Barr. He called congress out and documented why he called them out. Yeah, congress, especially the house is running scared. He has the goods and SOME of them are going down...HARD. I want everything to come out so we can be done with this fiasco.

No Mike, you are just being accurate and throwing their nonsense back in their face. Left can't have that. Left can't handle facts being thrown back in their face. It's all an illusion. and the hateocrats are going to keep voters away from them because they can't espouse anything but hate and violence. None of which gets anything done for US the voters. Do the hearings come to mind?

I was listening to (another) talk show and heard people debating this question: Why are democrats persisting with an obviously flawed and partisan impeachment "inquiry" and in this constant flow of outraged news stories, if they have no hope of converting the President's supporters? I think the answer is apparent in the two recent gubernatorial elections the Republican candidates lost.

In a divided electorate, they need to browbeat only a few thousand voters, discourage a few thousand voters from going to the ballots or wring/manufacture some votes from fraudulent voter rolls to win. All their recent victories fit that pattern.

Doesn't matter B. O. Your dismantling of America lasted 7 & 1/2 long years. Your wrongs are being righted now, and will continue for the next 20 years, when Pres Eric Trump is elected in 2024, and President Ivanka Trump is elected in 2032. Whining liberals will only have "late night reruns " of colbert to depress them even more. Hallelujah !!! NO MORE NYT, MSNBC, WAPO, THE (GROSSLY DISTORTED) VIEW, yes, talentless tv will be KAPERNICKED !??

Excellent article on all points. I thought Barr's speech was excellent and right on.
I especially liked the story about the neighbor responding to the elderly warmed my heart.

I can't even listen to the democratic candidates...most are so far left, it's scary.
I will be so glad when the impeachment hearings get to the Senate so hopefully enough will vote against least they will show some fairness there to both sides. The congressional hearing seems overly unfair & unjust.

The impeachment show--have you seen Talking Heads "Burning Down the House Video"?--David Byrne (the lead) resembles Schiff and if you read the lyrics it's hard to believe no one has done a parody with a Schiff look alike. We need to see the humor because the attempt to destroy the rule of law is truly frightening.Right now, and for the past 3 years the Democrats have been denying Trump and the people that voted for him, their constitutional rights to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I wish we could all file a class action against the networks that have openly lied about, attacked and insulted the president that we elected.

I was bowled over about the response to Obama--I thought he was the left's golden boy. But,he is right--they ARE too far left, I can't believe there is anyone with 2 brain cells connecting who actually think what the candidates are proposing is good for ANYONE (except the elite.) I'm just praying that, by Nov 2020, everyone will have awakened to the travesty the candidates are wanting for us---and will turn out in even greater numbers than ever to make sure Donald Trump remains President!!

Hopefully the football guy has cooked his own goose enough that even nike will push him back into the woodwork. Maybe he thought, since he had so much say-so with nike that he is the top dog in all of football. I don't watch it, but I'm pretty sure he will never be as good as Terry Bradshaw, Joe Namath and the other great players.

    Dear Governor,
PLEASE do not wish Kaepernick on Minnesota....we have enough problems in this state......especially around the "sanctuary city of Minneapolis" and surrounding small counties. Please note......only 11 out of 52 counties in MN went "blue" in 2016.
And....when will I receive the "toy unicorn" you said I won? ??

I also oppose injustice, inequality (of opportunity), and violence (including among the least among us, babies in utero), and I am a conservative who sees socialism/communism as a historical death knell, killing hundreds of millions in the last century. I don't like the national debt, either, and call out our own for things I don't like. And I don't hate immigrants or people different from myself, or anyone else except the Devil and his schemes.

I liked what you said about visiting are aging neighbors. I've been a home care aide for 13 years. Its can be very demanding and stressful. I have missed holidays and vacations with my family many times. The pay is not good and the benefits are nill. Still I no I have made an impact in the lives of the people who's care was entrusted to me. Sometimes all I can do is prepare a nice meal or make someone laugh but it makes such a difference in the quality of their lives. My family often tell me to get a job with benefits and one thats easier on my back. So far I havent heeded the advice. Caring for the vulnerable is meaningful and necessary. Thank you for drawing attention to it.

I thought of John Prine when reading the tale of Wanda in your evening newsletter. I have been playing "Hello in There" since I was in my late twenties but I appreciate it more now that I am a few days from 69. That song has always reminded me to be generous, respectful, and caring to those who have lived out the greater part of their years.

I have commented Obama is Anti America and very dishonest might as well trow in corrupt. His pardons are so disloyal to law and order only people like Jaun Williams and the young female Tarov that fox news like could find the good in those pardons. Obama traded 5 Taliban Terrorist for one American traitor find the good in that. If uU can U may be Anti American, Dishonest, Fake News and corrupt.

Speaking of violence from the left, I recently made the big mistake of falling for the advice that
"Joker" , the movie is an " art film" and should be seen. What I saw was Antifa getting away with murder and carrying #RESIST signs . It was a bloody, nasty representative of the far left and they are getting away with putting those horrible images in the minds of people that can't see what is really being represented. These nasty films like Joker should be avoided.

I am tired of the despicable behavior of the Left, and amazed by the support they're given by the press, circumventing every part of our constitutional rights, over and over again.
