Elizabeth Warren is now officially out of the Presidential race, after flopping on Super Tuesday. If you’ve been following her campaign, which has largely consisted of angry, hectoring lectures about how bad things are and how unfair, racist, sexist, etc., America is, you won’t be surprised to hear that she and her staunchest followers are blaming her failure to win the nomination on sexism.
But wait: didn’t the Democrats already nominate a woman in the last election? Or maybe Warren was done in by racism, due to her 1/1024th Cherokee blood. (Which, incidentally, she was never asked about in all 10 debates. Can you imagine a white male Republican candidate taking career advantages intended for a minority under false pretenses, and not even being asked about it? I call that “Democrat privilege.”)

At this writing, the death toll from Tuesday morning’s tornado that struck near Nashville has reached 25 people across four counties. It also caused widespread destruction of homes and businesses. President Trump has approved federal and disaster relief aid and is scheduled to visit today to survey the damage. But the people still need your prayers and support. I hope you’ll donate to help those already on the scene from the Red Cross (www.redcross.org) and Samaritan’s Purse:
The link below from USA Today includes some heartbreaking before-and-after aerial photos showing the destructive power of the tornado, including brick and concrete block walls blown away and large trees yanked out of the ground like weeds.
There’s also one inspiring photo that you must see, a much-needed reminder of what our lately disrespected American flag truly stands for. Homes lie scattered in ruins, nothing left but their foundations. Families are picking through the debris for photos and other precious heirlooms, while neighbors work helping neighbors. But someone has taken the time and effort to nail three long boards into a makeshift flagpole so that over it all, Old Glory still proudly flies. Because this is America.

MUST READ BLOG POST! Given Elizabeth Warren’s excuses that sexism prevented her from winning the Democratic nomination, Don Surber has a brilliant, chilling article about a woman who could have won. She believed girls could do anything, and was raised to be ambitious and hard-working. She got scholarships and went to excellent schools. Her age is perfect: 45. Unlike the geezers still standing, she’s youthful enough to attract young voters and energetic enough to handle the job. But unlike the failed freshmen Congress member candidates, she’s mature enough to have the required life experience (she served as a state attorney general, then was a successful Governor.)
So why isn’t this perfect candidate in the race, saving the Party and giving them an actual chance at defeating Trump? Read Surber’s article and find out.
PS – While I agree wholeheartedly with Mr. Surber, I’ll also note that Obama hollowed out the Democratic Party. His attempts to “transform” America by apologizing to our enemies, forcing Obamacare on us, etc., were so unpopular that they cost Democrats over 1,000 elected offices nationwide. Some of those Democrats might have been reaching peak political experience to run for President now, if they hadn’t been tossed out by angry voters, leaving only elderly folks and wet-behind-the-ears children to run.
Last night, President Trump sat down for a Fox News-hosted townhall in Pennsylvania. It was a pretty relaxed setting, and he spoke off-the-cuff on a wide range of subjects, including his Democratic opponents, coronavirus preparations, the wild fluctuations in the stock market and much more. You can read and see some highlights here, or watch multi-part videos of the whole thing:
Watching this makes me wonder what will happen if Joe Biden is the nominee. I’m not the only person to comment that Biden often starts debates reasonably strong, but by the end looks worn out and is spewing word salad. In the last debate, with the fewest candidates yet, Biden only spoke for 12-and-a-half minutes. Trump is routinely able to go out after a long, hard day and give a 90-minute speech with lots of humorous ad-libs in front of 20,000 people, or do a townhall like this and seem as fresh at the end as when he started, like he could stay there all night if he wanted.
Given all that, how will Biden stand up in a two-hour Presidential debate with Trump? I hope they’ll have EMT’s standing by.
Bible Verse of the Day (KJV)
"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
- Philippians 4:6-7
