Prof. Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit likes to say that all the Democrats had to do to regain power was not to act crazy, and they can’t even do that. That may be the understatement of the year.

Democrats regained the majority in the House as of last Thursday, on promises to lower health care costs, rebuild infrastructure and return civility to politics. But in just their first four days, they managed to set a new land speed record for careening from “reasonable impersonation of a rational human being” to “full-on, bat-poop loonies.” By this time next Thursday, I half expect them to be climbing to the top of the Capitol dome while screaming gibberish and waving flaming torches.

“8 biggest lies of 2018"

By Mike Huckabee

We’re in the second week of 2019 (and Congressional Democrats have made that first week feel like a year already), but a few year-end lists for 2018 are still appearing.  One that’s worth a look is Joseph Farah's list of the “8 Biggest Lies of 2018.”  And no, President Trump is not on this, because it doesn’t count every joke, hyperbolic statement, slip of the tongue or difference of opinion as a “LYING LIE!!!”

These are the kind of pernicious lies spread far and wide by the mainstream media and that they are tearing our society apart, or that are repeatedly presented as unassailable truths by allegedly reliable sources.  And judging by the fact that in her big “Sixty Minutes” debut last night, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez adamantly repeated one of the most corrosive and libelous of them (#4), they obviously aren’t going away in 2019.

Rice to China

By Mike Huckabee

For all those liberals who keep claiming that President Trump is a phony who really knows nothing about deals and negotiations: in an attempt to win his favor in upcoming trade talks, China announced Friday that it would allow imports of US rice for the first time in history.

That’s right: Trump just sold rice…to China!

What will it take to convince his critics?  Does he have to sell ice cubes to Iceland?

Woods destroys their shaky tower

By Mike Huckabee

Warning: This post refers to the sort of language that would get most children’s mouths washed out with soap by their mothers, but a certain new Democratic member of Congress not only uses it against the President in front of crowds, but brags about saying it in front of her young son, too.  And the Washington Post tried to defend it.  But James Woods destroyed their entire shaky tower of rationalization with just one deadly tweet.

https://www.westernjournal.com/ct/james-woods-expertly-uses-washington-posts-anti-trump-tweet/

There are a few things not mentioned in the story about the left's attempt to justify this very public profanity aimed at Trump by saying it’s not as bad as him calling some nations “s***hole countries.”  First of all, unlike her profanity in front of children and crowds, that quote from Trump came from a closed-door meeting that I assume was attended exclusively by adults.  Also, it’s never been established that he actually said it: the claim that he did came from a Democrat with a history of quoting controversial remarks from closed meetings that other attendees denied were ever said, and some at that meeting claim they never heard Trump say it.

Finally, it’s worth noting the phony outrage on the left that greeted the quote from Trump.  As this story shows, they hardly have such delicate ears that a profanity will send them to the fainting couches, as long as it comes from someone they support and is aimed at a political opponent.  Further, their outrage allegedly stemmed from how horrified they were that Trump would suggest that the nations illegal immigrants were fleeing were in any way inferior to our own.  In their eyes, America is responsible for all the evils in the world, and all other cultures are not merely equal to Western culture, but superior to our racist, sexist, colonialist, oppressive ways.

And yet, when Trump tries to use border security or deportation to return them to their wonderful nations of origin, the same critics assail him for having no compassion because he wants to send them back to places where they may die from all the violence, crime, drugs, disease, starvation, oppression…

Gee, sounds pretty awful!  What word do you think leftists who wholeheartedly defend profanity would use for a place like that?

Ainsworth: The twisted philosophy of "social justice"

By Laura Ainsworth

Have you been perplexed and frustrated to no end by Social Justice Warriors who profess to be fighting racism and sexism while seeming to be the most racist and sexist of all?  The ones who insist they hear “dog whistles” to which we’re not attuned but who don’t hear the sirens they themselves are emitting?  The ones who point fingers but who simply need to look in the closest mirror to see someone obsessed with race, all the while saying it’s impossible for them to be racist?  Let me tell you, I’m sick of it, too.

SJWs have redefined racism and sexism so that, under their definition, they can’t possibly be accused of it.  This view doesn’t make sense at all, except to someone whose brain has been marinating in a concept called intersectionality, which is all over college campuses now but has apparently been around for decades in sociology and gender studies departments.  The only way SJWs could get well-intentioned people to move towards policies that you or I would call racist or sexist was to redefine the terms.  And if you don’t get it, you’re just proving their point by illustrating how clueless you, as a privileged person, are.

Good for House committee chairmen for not going quietly

By Mike Huckabee

The House Republicans who until now headed committees whose investigations are now shut down will “not go gentle into that good night.”

Democrats made it clear well before Nancy Pelosi clutched the gavel that they would be terminating all non-Trump-related investigations, saying their only purpose was to deflect attention from the Mueller probe.  (Have you noticed that EVERY perfectly legitimate attempt to look into what Democrats have done is called “an attempt to deflect attention from the Mueller probe”?  That phrase must have tested off-the-chart in Democrat focus groups.)  Knowing this would happen, outgoing Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte of Virginia and Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy of South Carolina released a seven-page letter disclosing their findings regarding the “investigation” (ha) into Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified material.

The letter summarizes their findings and calls for a special counsel to look into decisions made in the Clinton investigation and the “Trump/Russia” probe, particularly the “disparate way these two investigations were seemingly conducted.”  (“Seemingly”??  I guess that word is obligatory, like the word “alleged” to describe a deed we know happened but that the jury technically is still deliberating.)  Addressed to acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz, it contains “significant new details,” which, according to FOX News’ Catherine Herridge, do not cast former FBI Director James Comey in a good light.

How refreshing: a no-nonsense approach to border security

By Mike Huckabee

Thanks so much for all the great responses to “Trump’s Wall: So don’t call it Trump’s, and don’t call it a wall.” My readers are obviously just as sick as I am of the semantic games being played by our duplicitous political class. (And, yes, to answer one letter writer, I was very much aware of the alternate meaning of the bureaucratic doublespeak term “impenetrable fabrication”; we hear those every day in DC and will continue to hear many more, especially during the next couple of years.)

Many of you had recommendations for Trump, some of which he has tried, with certain mid-level courts stopping him by repeatedly overstepping their bounds and keeping his constitutional powers in highly unconstitutional check. (It’s amazing how Trump’s opponents manage to find new and creative ways to keep him from simply doing his job as President.) Coming as our President did from a background in real estate and construction, he likely never dreamed it would be so hard to construct a doggone wall. You have a problem, you need a wall, you build it, right? You get it designed, you get the money (a pittance when compared with the staggering federal budget), and you just build it.

I keep referring back to Ephesians 6:12 to today's democrats. They are behaving unlike anything I've never seen before. I can keep talking on this subject of what I see is happening but I think you know where I'm coming from. Sarah is being asked such idiotic questions from the press. When President Trump told that one person of the stupid question she was asking, I wish Sarah would do the same. The media and democrats are just insane. Professionalism of their positions is completely out the window. One example is Maxine Watters. I'm so glad President Trump has that much power to affect people's behavior. Joke statement. Satan's days are numbered and he is freaking out.
