Since many of you reading this likely watch my show, I suppose I need to warn you that according to some recent news articles, you are watching a show hosted by a hateful bigot.  And that was about the nicest things said about me.

I recently spoke at the National Religious Broadcasters meeting in Anaheim, CA and was interviewed by the Christian Post.  They asked me what did I believe was the biggest threat facing our culture.  I replied that it was the abandonment of the Biblical standards of the family.  The view that there is no such thing as maleness or femaleness anymore.  That marriage doesn’t really matter so therefore divorce is no big deal and any form of marriage is equally valid—not just between a male and female.  That fathers aren’t that important to the development of a child.  That gender is fluid and we can just choose a gender based on how we feel rather than how we were created.  And that the Bible is an old book that no longer represents our changing culture and it often fails to be on the “right side of history.”

Laura Ainsworth: "'TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE 'MUELLER'"

By Laura Ainsworth

‘TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE “MUELLER”

‘Twas the Night before “Mueller”

And all through D.C.

They waited to hear from

Bill Barr, the AG

The probe has gone on

For a couple of years

And if it finds nothing

They’ll all be in tears

They won’t believe Barr

Not a word that he says

They’ll trash him and say

He’s protecting the Prez

Notre Dame Update

By Mike Huckabee

It now appears that thanks to brilliant Old World construction, brave firefighters and perhaps miraculous intervention, much less of Notre Dame Cathedral was destroyed than was first feared. The worst damage seems to have been contained to the spire and roof.

Even the 8,000-pipe organ seems to have emerged relatively unscathed, although there might be some water damage.

Over a billion dollars has already been pledged to help rebuild the Cathedral…

The most worrisome question, though, is whether the great Cathedral that has survived revolutions, world wars and a devastating fire can survive its own restoration, if we let politically correct leftists stick their fingers into the job?

Pat Reeder: A Final Curtain Call

By Pat Reeder

It’s time to give a final curtain call to two well-loved stars from very different fields.  First, it was announced that Georgia Engel passed away last Friday in New Jersey at 70 (she was a Christian Scientist who didn’t consult doctors, so no cause of death was given.)

She first came to fame on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” as Ted Baxter’s girlfriend/wife Georgette, a role for which she earned two Emmy nominations.  She later played Robert’s mother-in-law Pat on “Everybody Loves Raymond” (three Emmy nominations) and eventually reteamed with her “MTM Show” co-star Betty White on “Hot In Cleveland.”

Engel was the daughter of a US Coast Guard Admiral, and she grew up constantly moving to different places.  Maybe that contributed to her developing the unique, shy, trying-hard-to-please persona that made her famous.  Her soft voice and timid, innocent manner were the delivery system for some hilariously incongruous lines, such as telling her sanctimonious husband on “Raymond, “Now, you know I love you with all my heart, Hank.  But I think if I didn't have my cigarettes, I would have to FIGHT you!”

Cheering for Bernie

By Mike Huckabee

I notice that the big takeaway for most of the media from the Bernie Sanders townhall on Fox News was the fact that the Pennsylvania crowd erupted in cheers when asked if they supported “Medicare for All.”  This is being spun as surprisingly high support for government takeover of health care.

Of course, that deliberately ignores the fact that the crowd was a self-selected sample of people who would turn out on a work night to listen to Bernie Sanders for an hour.  Of course, they love “Medicare For All.” If I burst into a bar full of alcoholics and yelled, “The drinks are on the house,” I’d get cheers, too. A Bernie crowd would probably cheer the offer of a case of measles if you told them it was free.

I wonder if it might have put a damper on the cheering if the crowd had been told that all the “free” stuff Bernie is promising would cost over $20,000 to every taxpayer in America, on top of what they’re already paying?  That’s the big hangover that comes the morning after all the “free” drinks.

Spinning

By Mike Huckabee

Seth Meyers announced that his late night NBC show will expand to 90 minutes on Thursday to do a “deep dive” into analyzing the Mueller Report and putting it in “context,” and that his guest will be Democratic Presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg. So good news: if you think a late night comedian is qualified to analyze a 400-page legal investigative report in a matter of hours, then you probably also think the mayor of South Bend is qualified to be President, so set your DVRs, this is the show for you!

I think I'd rather stay up late, listening for the distant humming sound of Johnny Carson spinning in his grave.

Candace Owens faces the crowd

By Mike Huckabee

At the link, Turning Point USA’s Candace Owens discusses being accosted by masked, screaming, foul-mouthed “Antifa” protesters who were trying to keep her from speaking at the University of Pennsylvania (the clip includes video of the aggressive protesters whose pathetic antics did not intimidate Ms. Owens.)

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/candace-owens-black-vote-is-up-for-grabs-in-2020

So to recap: a group of idiots expressed their opposition to fascism by putting on masks and staging violent mob tactics to try to scare people of opposing views into silence…and their justification for their fascist anti-fascism was that a young, black conservative represents white supremacy?

I think they should take off those masks and trade them for T-shirts that say, “I’m wasting my parents’ money at UPenn.”

Mike Pence speech controversy

By Mike Huckabee

Indiana’s Taylor University (a Christian college) sparked controversy after an alumnus started an online petition demanding that Vice President Mike Pence’s invitation to speak at commencement be rescinded.  You see, Pence’s Christian views are “un-Christian,” according to much of the faculty, apparently because he actually believes in the Bible.  And there’s all that hateful stuff he said about gay people that a reporter recently tried to dig up, only to discover he never said any of it.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/op-eds/mike-pences-nonexistent-homophobia

There has been a lot of this bigoted anti-Christian propaganda aimed at Pence, who apparently makes a good target since he also believes in turning the other cheek.  But in this piece, he finally responds to some of the unprovoked attacks on him and his religious faith.  The Rev. Franklin Graham also weighs in on his behalf.  And just in case there’s any question that the attacks on Pence really stem purely from leftist politics and its culture of censorship and oppression rather than genuine religious differences, note who a Taylor professor suggests should speak at commencement instead, to send a message of “reconciliation.”

You guessed it: noted theologian Barack Obama.

Hey Governor, a report just came out that scientists have been able to revive cellular activity in the brain of dead pigs. Think they can do the same for democrats currently serving in the House and Senate?
