A week out, one has to ask, what is going on in the Arizona Senate race?

In a contest between former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot and 26-year veteran Martha McSally, who seems to be a stellar Republican candidate, and Democrat Kyrsten Sinema, polls show the two competitors in a tight race.  Unless Sinema’s own description of Arizona as “the meth lab of democracy” is true, it’s hard to account for her competitiveness at this point.  It shouldn’t be close.  But Project Veritas’ new undercover video offers a clue as to why it is.

To lure moderates, she’s pretending to be one.

In the past, Sinema has said and done some controversial things.  She has called Arizona voters “crazy.”  She said her state was a “Lindsay Lohan” sort of way.  After 9/11, she told a radio host that, yes, if he wanted to run off and join the Taliban, that was “fine.  I don’t care if you want to do that, go ahead.”  McSally has taken heat for calling Sinema’s remark treasonous, but I can easily see why she, someone who fought the Taliban, would use that word.

Also, I wonder what Andrew C. McCarthy, who helped prosecute the Blind Sheik after the first World Trade Center bombing, would think about her promotion of an event at Arizona State University that featured radical lawyer Lynne Stewart, who had represented that terrorist and helped him communicate with his terrorist organization while in prison.  Oh, wait, I don’t have to wonder, because he wrote about it back in October.  Everyone registered to vote in Arizona needs to read this, particularly the last paragraph:

Sinema also led anti-war protesters while wearing a bright pink tutu.  (Yes, a fact check shows she actually did this, at a campus event she described as “an expression of creativity and of self” in conjunction with Women’s International Day.)

One would hope that her pink tutu would backfire as spectacularly as Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis’ pink tennis shoes did.  (Wendy who??)  As you might recall, she wore the cute pink tennies on the floor of the Texas legislature while filibustering for 13 hours against a bill to regulate abortion clinics.  I digress.

No one could present a stronger contrast to Sinema than conservative Martha McSally, who served six tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.

But James O’Keefe may have put his finger on the reason for the tightness of this election.  The problem is that middle-of-the-road Arizona voters haven’t been aware of just how far-left Sinema is, because she has been trying to pass for a moderate, to deceive Arizona voters at least until the polls close on election day.  She knows she’s not in touch with the majority of Arizona voters, so she has to fool them.  Project Veritas has gone undercover once again, this time to talk with some of her campaign workers –- not just the underlings, but people at the top –- and they made it clear, almost with pride, that she’s pretending to be something she’s not.

For example, Michelle Davidson, Sinema’s campaign manager, said, “...this is why I think Kyrsten’s approach is so, I think, important.  We can’t be talking about an assault weapons ban...We can’t, right?”  She goes on to mention some of the conversations they CAN have about guns, touching on mental illness, background checks and such, rather than a flat-out ban.  It’s the same with immigration.  They can only chip at the edges of a controversial issue, taking care to avoid mention of what she’d really do if elected.

From Lauren Fromm, campaign field organizer:  “...there’s a lot of very conservative people in Arizona and so she can’t alienate the conservative or moderate conservative voters by being super pro-...she is pro-choice.  She is very liberal, she’s progressive...But she doesn’t in this election want to draw too much attention to being progressive because she’s trying to be more –- that’s why I think she took so much Democratic help, too; otherwise, she wouldn’t have won.”

It occurs to me that she probably got as much “Democratic help” as she did because she IS so far to the left.  But according to Fromm, she can’t appear too progressive because “she has to capture all the moderate voters.”  She goes on:  “Because Arizona is a red state, technically…a very important state for this election...That’s why she goes, ‘I’m good for Arizona’ --- that’s usually what she’s, like, all about.”

Along the same lines, according to another field organizer, Madison Snarr, “She had to play centrist to move up, become powerful.”

As for offering citizenship to those here illegally, Sinema herself, when out of the public eye, offers a candid opinion:  “I believe that we should offer citizenship to every person who’s in this country, who isn’t bad.  You know, if you haven’t committed a bad crime, you know, then you should get a path to citizenship.  That’s what I believe.”  The independent and moderate Arizonans who will swing the election one way or the other and who may disagree probably don’t know this.

When asked about banning guns, Sinema deflects with a joke that if you talk about banning guns in Arizona, “they’ll actually shoot you.”  Way to talk about your constituents, Kyrsten.

She also says on camera that her strategy involves reaching out to independents, moderates, even conservative Republicans.  No wonder she has to hide who she is.

Progressives excuse and even respect this kind of duplicity; in most states, it’s the only way they can win.  In general, polls tend to show that, nationwide, only about a quarter of the population would describe themselves as very liberal.  But politically-active Democrats, the ones who vote in primaries, work on campaigns, donate money and run for office, are increasingly very, very liberal, even socialist.  They know they can’t win without moderates, though, so they talk the moderate talk.

Exhibit A:  major Sinema campaign donor Steve Andrews, who says, “Doing anything that’ll alienate voters at this time --- it’s gotta be all good.  It’s gotta be all ‘Martha McSally is a (c-word)...’”  He notes that Sinema won’t say anything too progressive, probably even after the election, but she’ll be THE VOTE.  This is just the way it has to be, he says, because, after all, being a liberal “is not the way to win in this state.” He goes on to say that “she knows to survive and get elected, she’s gotta walk the walk a little bit.  AND I RESPECT THAT; I’M TIRED OF LOSING.”  (Emphasis mine.)

When asked how Sinema would actually vote, Snarr says simply, “Democratic.”  Then, trying not to crack up with cynical laughter, she says, “She’s going to stand up and protect Arizonans’ values.  Whatever the f--- that means.”

Another field official cautions that she has to be “remembering that she is from Arizona, where if she’s too progressive, she’s not gonna get elected.”

Campaign worker Michael Smyser makes an interesting point:  that with a six-year Senate term, Sinema will be freer to settle in and vote as a progressive.  Having to worry about getting elected every two years really makes it hard to suddenly start swinging left!  It takes a little time to get the public on board.  My thought is that in a blue state, this wouldn’t matter, but in a red state such as Arizona, it definitely would.

So the public Kyrsten Sinema is dutifully practical, moderate and nonpartisan and will tell you so face-to-face:  “During my six years in Congress I’ve been nonpartisan, really just solving people’s problems on a really practical level.”

Arizona, you have a big problem right now, and she is it.  You have someone wanting to be your senator who sees deception as a means to an end.

Your criticism of Arizona Democrat Kyrsten Sinema made it seem that she was calling the people of Arizona "crazy". I watched the source video of her speech to Texas Democrats. Her remarks were directed against the Republican led legislature. Calling the policies of her political opponents "crazy" is different than calling voters "crazy".

Mike: Trent Franks vacated district has been strongly Republican for over 25 years (Back to Bob Stump days). However this same district was barely won at special election by Debbie Lesko (R) by 3% swing. I was surprised, but I wonder how many "snow birds" vote twice (voter fraud) in AZ, and their home state. Also, during the exodus from California people didn't leave behind their communist views.--This was the first year ever for a teacher strike statewide...more signs of communist invasion.

Let's not forget, Deconcini then McCain was able to fool the people of their liberal views. Those of us in the know censured McCain in the state.--What the US really needs is to study the Constitution at every grade level, understand why we have rights (not privileges), and understand the Constitutional role of government.--We really don't want to be like other nations, because we have Rights and those nations are communist!

Arizona isn't the only state that has a Democrat candidate pretending to be a moderate and fooling conservative voters. Sadly, it is happening in many states. In my opinion, no Democrat candidate deserves a vote, no matter how good they sound, no matter what they say, if voted in, it will be found out that they lied and said what sounded good to be elected. They are almost all on the same bandwagon or agenda to regain control, to continue the agenda of their beloved Obama, Pelosi, Hillary and many others. They don't care at all about Americans, veterans, or even America. But they do care about illegals, sanctuary cities, abolishing ICE, changing our Second Amendment, covering up the deep state swamp and the list goes on and on.
I hope and pray that the results of the mid-term election will indeed be a Red (Republican) tsunami to wash out the so called Blue Wave. But it is going to take Republicans, conservatives, evangelicals and patriots to GET OUT AND VOTE. All Republican and conservative votes will be necessary to out do the Democrats efforts and voter fraud efforts and the allowance of illegals to vote in places like California and every other dirty despicable trick they are so good at. The Democrats will stoop to any level. They hate Trump, dislike conservatives, dislike our Second Amendment, could care less about veterans and Americans. Remember that on Tuesday, November 6th no matter what any Democrat says. And I hope that Arizona wakes up and doesn't turn that state blue !!!!!!!!

This Demo-rat is doing round-the-clock TV advertising, attacking her opponent’s voting record and mental “instability.” I do not see money being spent by the Republican Party to rebut any of these charges. People are unwilling to do their own research and rely too heavily on what they see and hear.

This has very little to do with these articles but the more I listen to the news the less I believe anything they say! The recent disgusting slaughter in Pittsburgh is only closely matched by the news media and the Democratic officials trying to blame every disaster on President Trump. When the Mayor of Pittsburgh, who is a Democrat, can't take responsibility for what occurs in Pittsburgh...his own "house"...and then try to shift the blame to President Trump. That assumes that President Trump can know the thoughts and intents of the heart and mind of everyone! I know of only ONE who can do that and HE will deal take care of it.!

Mike, I didn't do your survey about President Trump using an Executive Order to change the Birthright Citizenship because the proposal you mentioned referred to ending it for "non-citizens." There may be many reasons for people to be here legally and not be a full citizen yet. I WOULD support ending it for children born to people here illegally. However, overall I am leery of using Executive Action - I never liked it when President Obama said "I have a pen . . ." when he wanted to do something in lieu of legislation.

Am a native from Arizona and your information about Simena is 100% correct. All the hateful things she has said about those of of in Arizona from calling housewives and mother leeches because they stay home and take care of their family, trying to shut down our Luke AFB, calling us the meth lab and so much more is the true Simena. It is obvious to those who keep up with the news over the years that she has had, not only a physical/clothing makeover but has been retrained how to act like a personable person with the constant smiles and saying she always works across the aisle, NOT,to never arguing when arguing has always been her norm. She is extreme left and will become another sitting up beside Kamala Harris. Two of the same and something the US cannot have. Please vote for Martha McSally for the good of Arizona and the U.S.A

I certainly hope and pray that this message gets to ALL voters in Arizona...unfortunately I don't know anyone who lives there so can't forward it. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. We ALL have to be aware that these deceptions actually ARE part of this election, as are the input of dollars from people outside who want to and are determined to eradicate the US Constitution and the Republic in totality. Please keep up the accurate information for our sake. I cannot contribute because I am basically broke.

Mike you always provide us with current information that is critical to review, especially this close to an election. The first email I click on everyday is Huckabee's newsletter. My concern is how does someone in the Northeast get this to anyone in AZ? A) I only know one person who lives there, and she is neither conservative nor liberal, but has leanings both ways, so not sure sending it to her will help. But other than that I wouldn't have any way to get that to AZ voters. I am not on social media, and it would probably get pulled by those owners who are left liberal diehards. You are truly the voice of real Americans, so hopefully your media connections could help get this information out. Thank you for all you do for the USA, please don't stop informing us of the left's attempts to blunt their real goals. M. Darden

Re:"The Market." Many (many) years ago, Bruce Williams, talk-radio host of years gone by, said--do not micro-manage your investments, it will drive you crazy (paraphrased.) My financial advisor likes me because I don't call him every single time there is a change in the market. I think it was Dave Ramsey also who said to just wait it out--it will re-right itself in time for most investments. The panic and hysteria have gotten worse over time with what I would call irresponsible reporting--the "analysts" on the msm shows who predict gloom and doom--the people who should, if as knowledgeable as they hold themselves out to be, not be telling the viewers that the world is coming to an end because of the stock market (and who seem to ignore, or maybe not be aware of the great increases in the stock market over the last 2 years.) Kind of like the climate doom and gloom people--for goodness sake, look over all the years of weather or climate since records were being kept instead of going crazy over the last year's weather.

I certainly hope that her duplicity is something that is getting to the Arizona voters, whether through political ads, or on tv or radio, in newspapers--everywhere the Arizonians get their news. Or, on fb which is where my 28 y/o son and his friends get their information. Perhaps to also show her voting record to date--making sure they know her leftist stand on issues already voted on. Praying that Arizona remains a red state!!

I don't need to repeat how depraved and immoral the Democrat party has become. But what jumped out at me was how incapable liberals are of speaking without using profanity, and I'm talking REAL profanity. Language my generation didn't hear growing up. Now words like pimp, f-bombs, the c-word are part of every day discourse, even for children. Unfortunately, Sinema could win, and that will make the change we need much harder to bring about. So we need to spread the word. And we need to pray like everything depends upon this election, because it just might.

Right about the deception of appearing to support conservative issues. Claire McCaskill, Senator from Missouri, is at the same game. She has consistently voted with the Chuck Schumer Socialist party, AKA democrats, supported Obama's radically left positions on everything from Obamacare to transgenderism. She recently voted against Justice Kavanaugh's confirmation. Now she is parading around conservative areas of the state pretending to love Trump, supports stopping the Caravan, and you would think she is a conservative. This is a strategy the dims are using in red states or areas. They will LIE, LIE, LIE about any and everything to get back in power to do quite the opposite. (Reminds me of Satan who is the master liar and deceiver.) When elected they will do what they've been promising, implement socialism, impeach Trump, impeach Kavanaugh and kill, kill, kill babies and euthanize anyone who wishes to be with our tax money.

I am counting on the good people of Missouri to be intelligent enough to recognize blatant lies and ignore McCaskill's recently evolved new positions.

Being an Arizona voter, the only thing we hear is just how good Kyrsten is. I just pray Republicans show up. I have already voted, by mail in ballot. But something is very wrong at the election place. Normally when mailing in a ballot we receive a text, ballot received. Not this time. I called & gave my voter ID # to find out if ballot received. The guy on the phone told me, computer issues. This is not good. AZ has the worst reputation of getting election day stuff right. Who can we reach out to, to get official supervision on our election process? This guy running the show here, really screwed up the primaries. Now this huge election is upon us & news reports are, he hasn't hired enough staff to cover it. The dude needs to get fired! We have no confidence in him to get it right.

AZ election people need Supervision & help!! And that's the truth.

The USA Dep't of Energy needs to allow sale of GASOLINE WITHOUT Ethyl ALCOHOL for users of small engines
,like lawnmowers, boat motors, etc that are NOT vehicles. The Alcohol in the gasoline clogs up the carburetors and causes users heavy expense if they are not protected by a special gasoline additive.
