Another Trump policy is reversed

The Biden Department of Education is reversing yet another Trump-era policy, this time the expanded First Amendment protections that Trump granted to religious clubs on college campuses. The Biden appointees can’t see the need for it, since they don’t seem to think that religious clubs are facing any particular discrimination or violations of their First Amendment rights on today’s college campuses. And if they do, they can always use their bottomless sources of funds to hire lawyers and take the schools to court.

https://hotair.com/tree-hugging-sister/2023/02/23/biden-doe-to-end-wider-trump-1st-amend-protections-for-campus-religious-clubs-n532679

That link has more information about this topic and quotes from Biden’s Assistant Secretary for Post Secondary Education, who apparently lives in a big bubble of unreality.

For the List-makers

Last week, Tucker Carlson listed some of the many things that could have been done in America for Americans with the $100 billion President Biden wants to send to Ukraine. The stunning list includes building a border wall four times over, paying for two years of community college for every young American, or paying off half the medical debt in the entire country.

https://www.westernjournal.com/tucker-carlson-buy-america-cash-going-ukraine/

It’s a fascinating list, but there’s one problem: when has the government ever spent money that wisely or that’s done that much good? For instance, they just passed a bill called the “Inflation Reduction Act” that spends $1.7 trillion, and so far, all that I can tell it’s done is increase inflation.

Problems upon problems

Liberal politicians like Joe Biden and Gavin Newsom continue to try to force Americans to drive electric cars, but the more people who buy them, the more we’re hearing about the problems they’re discovering. Things like the range being less than advertised, towing greatly reducing the range, longer than expected charging times and difficulties finding charging stations. Their surprise at these unpleasant discoveries tells me one thing: they don’t read this newsletter, because I’ve been warning about these things for several years now. Along with other issues, like the problems of making enough batteries and disposing of the old ones, exploding batteries, the environmental damage created in EV manufacturing, the exploitation of Third World mine workers and the impossibility of generating enough power to charge them all.

As I’ve previously noted, if you live in an urban area with plenty of charging stations, and you have a short commute and don’t plan to travel long distances, tow anything or use your vehicle for hard labor, an EV might be fine for you. But for the average American who does a lot of driving and needs a powerful, reliable vehicle, it’s like trying to tow a trailer with a bicycle.

Now, here’s a new report about automotive writers who are starting to take notice of these issues and express EV buyers’ remorse:

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2023/02/26/charging-woes-plague-electric-vehicle-owners-biden-admin-seeks-expand-network-stations/

One auto YouTuber tested a Ford Lightning F-150 truck and declared, “If a truck towing 3,500 pounds can’t even go 100 miles — that is ridiculously stupid. This truck can’t do normal truck things. You would be stopping every hour to recharge, which would take about 45 minutes a pop, and that is absolutely not practical.”

But don’t worry: The Biden White House has the solution. They're going to spend billions of our tax dollars covering the nation with 500,000 EV charging stations so that you’ll never be more than 50 miles away from a place where you can spend 45 minutes charging your truck so you can drive it another 100 miles. Who says they’re not practical?

Another welcome sign of a return to sanity

Britain’s Justice Minister announced that starting today, all violent male criminals will be banned from women’s prisons, even if they claim to be “transgender.”

Next victim: James Bond

Penguin Books, parent company of Puffin, is desperately trying to do damage control after getting hit with worldwide criticism for editing and rewriting Roald Dahl’s classic children’s books for “sensitivity readers.”

https://victorygirlsblog.com/penguin-realizes-vandalizing-roald-dahl-books-is-a-bad-idea/

But don’t think you’ve seen the last of the new bowdlerizers. Next victim: James Bond. It seems that Ian Fleming’s 007 novels contain outdated comments about women, minorities, etc. (why, you’d think he was from the 1960s or something!), as well as upsetting use of insensitive language in describing certain acts. Bond has a license to kill, but apparently not a license to offend.

https://www.theblaze.com/news/james-bond-books-edit-rewritten-censorship

I think one of the best commentaries about this cultural vandalism came from Brandon Morse at Redstate.com, who writes about Penguin’s idea of releasing both the censored/rewritten versions and the “classic” versions. He quotes author/editor Spencer Klavan, who said there are no “classic” versions of the books, there are just the original books that the author wrote, “with the words in them that he chose. I don’t know who at Puffin needs to hear this, but there are no other versions. You weren’t offering some helpful alternative; you were committing vandalism.”

https://redstate.com/brandon_morse/2023/02/24/its-not-a-classic-version-of-the-book-just-the-non-vandalized-version-n708170

Before they destroy "Live and Let Die," how about we just live and let live, and allow this horrible idea to die?

 Not Trump

I’ve already explained to you multiple times why attempts by “Transportation Secretary” Pete Buttigieg, the Biden White House and Joy Behar of “The View, among others, to blame the East Palestine, Ohio, train derailment on Donald Trump for changing train safety standards are steaming garbage. But you know I’m a partisan (unlike them?), so why believe me?

Okay, then how about believing Jennifer Homenday, chair of the National Transportation Safety Board, who spoiled the “blame Trump” narrative by telling CNN that the Trump rule change involving brakes had nothing to do with the cause of that derailment and wouldn’t even have applied to that particular train, anyway.

https://www.westernjournal.com/ntsb-chair-fact-checks-buttigieg-biden-admin-use-trump-scapegoat-train-derailment/

Even more devastating to their narrative: unlike “Mayor Pete,” Homenday is a head of a federal agency overseeing transportation who actually knows something about transportation.

Grandpa Biden makes an appearance

Speaking of East Palestine, President Biden told reporters that he still has no plans to visit there. Then, channeling Grandpa Simpson, he went into a baffling ramble, said he’d already done a “whole video,” oh-whatayacallit? on that (a reporter suggested, “Zoom?”), yeah, that’s it, "‘Zoom!’ All I can think of every time I think of Zoom is that song in my generation, ‘Who’s Zooming Who?’"

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-no-plans-visit-east-palestine-points-whole-video-zoom-train-derailment-disaster

For the record, “Who’s Zooming Who” was an Aretha Franklin hit from 1985 when Biden was 43, so it wasn’t even his generation. Someone should order FEMA to rush in and clean up his catastrophic train of thought derailments.

Later, he gave an interview to ABC where he claimed he’d “talked to everyone there is to talk to” about the East Palestine disaster but couldn’t recall whether he’d talked to the mayor. When asked if he was running for reelection, he replied, “Well, apparently, someone interviewed my wife today I heard, and I gotta call her and find out.”

https://redstate.com/nick-arama/2023/02/24/biden-makes-bizarre-comment-about-east-palestine-says-things-he-shouldnt-in-interview-n708308

FYI, in that interview, Jill Biden said that Joe “hasn’t finished what he’s started.” I didn’t think it was possible for any interview to be more terrifying than a Joe Biden interview, but that statement alone does it.

Wars all around us

While President Biden has been spending over a hundred billion of our dollars on a proxy war with Russia in Ukraine that could escalate into a nuclear World War III, and showing weakness that has encouraged China to consider attacking Taiwan whom we’ll supposedly be obliged to help defend, I wonder if he’s noticed that North Korea is now testing cruise missiles and threatening war against us?

https://www.westernjournal.com/biden-absolute-fool-ignore-north-koreas-latest-announcement/

Remember when Democrats claimed we had to vote for them because Trump might get us into a war? Who knew that their real objection was that “a war” meant he might get us into only one of them?

Having hapless Biden as president is like a swimmer racing another swimmer only handicapped by having a buoy attached to its leg America was doing so wonderful nationally and internationally and please don’t forget the Space Force until biden was “elected “ president. Voters put trumps past on top of the voting ballots along with the msm that attacked trump in a horrific personal beat down in exchange for a country that is turmoil in every sector, A comment on the issue of EV the democrats wants the freedom of an gasoline vehicle out of the way so the government will be able to control the travel in this country it can shut down the grids or have them hacked or nature will not let the winds blow or the sun shine traveling will be more of a nightmare than a pleasure to be able to see American landscapes or conservatives run cities visiting small towns and our most beautiful rural areas democracies want to control all aspects of ameolife the democratic voter doesn’t care as it is already riding bues and living in government housing democrats want to lower all good standards of living by issuing a one size fits all society

On EVs, how can people living in cities charge EVs? Extension cords out apartment windows? From row homes across streets and around the block?
