Today's Edition: 7 minute read

I predicted that the Democrats hoped-for Mueller hearing bombshell would be a wet firecracker, and boy, was I right. But I never imagined that even a wet firecracker could somehow blow up in their faces.

The Dems on the Committees hoped that Mueller would help breathe new life into their groundless demands to impeach the President that went on life support after the Mueller Report came out. Instead, Wednesday’s hearings in effect pulled the plug and signed a “Do not resuscitate” order.

In fact, it was so sad, one could almost feel sorry for Mueller, looking at times as lost and bewildered as your grandpa at Comic Con – until you remember what his investigation put this nation through for over two years, and how his failure to declare it over when he knew it was groundless and letting it drag out past the 2018 election helped give us AOC and her ilk. There have been numerous comparisons to “The Wizard of Oz,” where the curtain is finally pulled back and the great and powerful Oz is revealed to be a befuddled old man, frantically pulling levers that generate smoke and illusions.

House Democrats respond

By Mike Huckabee

House Democrats tried to put a good face on the Mueller fiasco with a post-hearing press conference.  But I’m sure they knew how badly it went for them from the fact that Speaker Nancy Pelosi showed up 48 minutes late and rambled some incoherent anti-Trump clichés before forcing Jerry Nadler to take over the microphone.  I suspect she’d rather have been trapped in an elevator with AOC than be there.  I looked closely at my TV screen to see if I could spot her high-heeled shoe print on Nadler’s backside for pushing for this kamikaze mission.

The general consensus among anyone with a brain is that the “impeachment” movement is dead.  I don’t know about that.  People with brains are a minority of the Democratic base these days.  The Hollywood Twitter brigade, the House leftist firebrands and other high-profile Democrats are still insisting that the report that found no evidence of crimes contains solid evidence of multiple crimes, and demanding impeachment hearings.  Pelosi knows that at this point, that would not merely be beating a dead horse but expecting to ride it to victory in the Kentucky Derby.

But does she still have enough power to rein in her hothead caucus?  Or will some of the diehards claim that Mueller’s stunningly bad performance proved he was too old for the job, so we need to appoint another special counsel and start this charade all over?

Maybe it will help that even the Democrats’ strongest cheerleaders in the media, such as Chuck Todd, described Wednesday’s hearings as a disaster, an embarrassment and a victory for Trump.  Even Michael Moore tweeted that “Trump must be gloating in ecstasy” (He was, which made it a doubly-historic day: Michael Moore was actually right about something.)  The Breitbart link above has a good round-up of media figures lamenting how their long-cherished “Russian collusion/obstruction/Mueller will destroy Trump” dream crashed and burned before their eyes on live TV.  As proof of how bad it was, the only media figure who actually thought it was a “remarkable” day and the beginning of the end for Trump was MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow.  Perhaps the best video clip to sum it up would be Dr. McCoy from “Star Trek” saying, “He’s dead, Jim.”

On that subject, I notice that Sean Hannity declared Wednesday to be “The Day Impeachment Died.”  I wonder if Sean listened to “American Spies,” the terrific “American Pie” parody written and recorded by “Huckabee” writer Laura Ainsworth to bring everyone up to speed on the players (Hannity does appear in the video.)  It’s obvious now that Robert Mueller should have listened to it before testifying, and he would have been better prepared.  If you haven’t heard it yet, click here (as requested, this link has all the lyrics for the hearing impaired):

The second-dumbest thing liberals did in Congress this week (so far.)

By Mike Huckabee

Believe it or not, calling Robert Mueller in to testify might have been only the second-dumbest thing liberals did in Congress this week (so far.)

On Tuesday, a group of environmental activists called “Extinction Rebellion” wanted to bring attention to a stalled resolution by Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez declaring that the “climate emergency” demands a “national, social, industrial, and economic mobilization of the resources and labor” of the United States.  So to do that, they superglued their hands to the walls of the tunnel connecting the House office building to the Capitol, to obstruct people who were trying to get to work in the morning.  (Of course, being environmentalists, they didn’t use industrial glue, they used Gorilla Glue.)

The protest, which they captured on video, went from bizarre to hilarious when they started telling people, “If you respect the climate emergency, you will go around.” But most people apparently didn’t see the connection between saving the Earth and having to go outside and walk around the long way, so they just ducked under the protesters’ immobilized arms and shoved past.

Police dissolved the glue and arrested 17 people on various charges.  But Texas Republican Rep. Lance Gooden, who squeezed past the pasted protesters and called it “borderline comical,” said, "In the future, I would have just let them remain self-glued to the walls when everyone goes home for the night. See who has the stamina to stick with it."

This protest seems to have been a bust, so might I make a suggestion?  I think it would get much more attention for their issues if leftists superglued their upper lips to their bottom lips.  Do that, and I guarantee I’ll report on it.

“Mini AOC”  is back!

By Mike Huckabee

In a week like this, Americans could use a laugh.  So here’s good news: “Mini AOC” is back!  Well, not exactly: the eight-year-old girl who did the hilarious parody of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is no longer making new videos because big, brave, social justice “warriors” made death and doxing threats against her and her family for telling jokes they don’t like, so her parents took down the videos.  And the Big AOC (I won’t say “the mature AOC”), who fills the Rio Grande with crocodile tears about her concern for all  children, has yet to say a word that I’m aware of in defense of this child or to scold her own followers for acting like the lowest scum on Earth and threatening a child into giving up her free speech rights.

But her parents may have decided not to give in completely to threats from basement-dwelling keyboard warriors, so they’ve let a couple of new videos of bloopers and outtakes be posted.  Watch and enjoy.  And to all you big, tough, child-bullying AOC fans who can’t take a joke: is it okay if we laugh at the outtakes, or do even blown lines about your idol “trigger” you too much?

If you want proof of just how great life in America is today under President Trump, consider that a number of allegedly professional journalists actually thought that this story was something worth getting all worked up with outrage about.  Imagine if they had real problems to report on!

New twist in the story of Democratic Georgia State Rep. Erica Thomas, who set off a media firestorm by claiming that a white man called her the “b-word” and told her to “go back where you came from” when she got in the 10-item grocery checkout lane in front of him with 15 items.  She claimed he approached her with clenched hands in an irate way that made her fear for her safety, and she accused him of being a white racist Trump supporter exhibiting white privilege.  He denied saying that and said he’s both a Democrat and a Cuban.

Now the latest: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that police came out and interviewed witnesses who say the man didn’t approach Thomas; he tried to leave and she approached and berated him.  Also, they never heard him say, “Go back where you came from,” but they say that Thomas said that to him several times.

I have a feeling we still haven’t the end of this story.  All I know is that any story that starts with someone getting into the 10-item lane with 15 items probably won’t end well, particularly if it involves police witness statements.

Yesterday, Gov. Ricardo A. Rosselló of Puerto Rico announced his resignation.  He had planned to hold out until the next election, but the protests in the streets forced him to reconsider.

Now, I wonder if any of the media outlets and politicians (including Hillary Clinton) will reconsider their attacks on President Trump as being a racist who hates Puerto Ricans because he said that hurricane aid did get to Puerto Rico but their corrupt government kept it from getting to the people.  Turns out he was right.

Here’s more on that story from the American Thinker, and I’m not just linking to this because it quotes my Twitter tweet on the subject.  Although, when you quote me, it proves you really are a deep thinker.

How can we reach Pres. Trump to get rid of the hold overs from the Obama administration in the ICE administration who have been leaking the planned arrests; and did not allow the ICE agents in Portland to defend their station against Antifa when it would have been easy to do so, but let it escalate until they were ordered to leave (evacuate) their building, even when many of them wanted to stay and protect their files, computers, info., and ammunition. An ICE agent said in a WeBuildtheWall panel discussion that they were being hampered in doing their job by those in charge above them.

Governor Mike, I've been thinking about the whole Mueller thing, and I've got a bit of a conspiratorial take on it. My thought is that Mueller was put in position, and was FORCED to "sing from the democrat songbook", as a pawn, and to say and do what he FORCED to. I daresay he made staffing decisions, which were FORCED on him. The conspiracy is that I believe that Obama, and the Clintons had dirt on Mueller, big enough to destroy him, and any legacy he might leave. He always has the look of a very frightened man (have you ever seen him smile?). Give it some thought! Thanks Mike for your wisdom, and mostly your love of God and country.

I really enjoyed your newsletter today. I spent this morning at the dentist and was in pain till I read about the protesters who glued themselves to the hall wall and your closing comment. I started laughing so hard picturing the scene that the pain in my mouth didn't bother me anymore. These environmentalists are getting really creative; they may take you up on your suggestion. LOL

Any sane person knows trying to impeach the President is a dead end road, yet when you let hate be your guide (god) you lose sense of realty. And when I watched the Democrats respond to Mueller testimony the first thing came to my mind (This is Squad #1). Talk about the lack of sense, those protesters use glue to which they would think is harmful to the environment to make. Then on top of that the police used a solvent to remove the glue again in their thinking this would be harmful to the environment to make. This week in congress is more of circus. God bless and keep up the good work.

So very sad to see that the Demos let this man come to talk about his report when he is having some type of health problem. WHY for what purpose they cannot give up. No Russian that would have kept me from voting for madam Hillary . I never liked this woman . What exactly did they do to interfere that kept her from winning. Who with Pres Trump worked with the Russians so far no one was arrested for this ? So what did they the Mueller group prove?

I recieved and email survey and could not respond solely on answers given wothout additional comment - so here it goes
Questions 1: Did Robert Mueller change your mind? * Yes No Undecided
No- Robert Meuller did not change my mind as I saw early on that this investigation was totally compromised, biased and had the one goal fo taking down this president or helping DNC to do so.
The hearing yesterday further deomonstrated how ruthless the DNC is in taking down Trump that they distroyed Meuller in the process. Robert Meuller was a distinguished hero as a marine and his early days as a prosecutor. The DNC pushed for Meuller to be special prosecutor to serve as a front puppet while Weissman and crew worked maliciously behind his back. It was really sad to watch how poorly Meuller responded to the questions. he looked frail, confused, demonstrated difficulty in reading and navigating the report document. He did not have an author's familiarity with the document which lead me to believe that Meuller was notthe true author- it was written by someone else and his signature was placed on it. The bahavior I witnessed yesterday was very similar to that of one experiencing dementia. This make we wonder why Meuller was chosen to begin with. Was it so the dispicable deep state to continue to do their dirty work uncover up and deception under the cover of Meuller? This hearing and this whole Russian Hoax investigation was a sham, a serious embarrassment to the US played out publicly.

QUestion 2: Ninety Democrats have publicly stated that President Trump should be impeached. Do you agree? Yes No Undecided

I do not agree and if anyone should be impeached in my view is is the dispicable DNC members of Congress for failure to fulfill thier oath of office. They do not care idly about America. America's svoereignty as a nation oe the Amercian people. They provide emply lip seervice and look for votes to sustain their powerbase. They colluded with Russia through Fusion GPS, HRC and her Foundation. They target adn destroy people who disagree with thier agenda. Theya r eincapable of keeping the renegade, disrespectful. antiseptic "squad" in check and repremand their hateful, inappropriate rhetoric. They deomstrate so much hypocrisy in passing a resolution about Trumps behavior w/o cleaning up their our party's inappropriate and volgar behaviors and statements.

I fully support President Trump and can look past his tweets given the depravity of the DNC and the DC swamp creatures. It is waypast time to clean out the swamp and President Trump is the man capable of gettingt his done. The sooner the better.

It was actually rather sad to see Mueller fade under questioning. He didn't want to be there in the first place and the Dems were fools to put him on the stand in this desperate attempt to find "something" -- "anything" they could use against Trump. They only keep making themselves look more foolish. I thought that was impossible but they keep proving me wrong. By the way, I absolutely loved every single one of the "Mini-AOC" videos. It's sick, sad, illegal and unAmerican when people threaten a child and her family. Glad to see the bloopers! There have been funny cartoons and videos about people in office for years...why now attack this talented and innocent young lady? For shame!
