1. The Biden document and money trail: a wild coincidence

By Mike Huckabee

This has got to be the greatest coincidence EVER.

Yesterday, we told you that Hunter Biden had filled out a background check to rent a property in California and listed his address as Joe Biden's Delaware house and his current rent as just under $50,000 a month. And, no, that was not a typo.

The exact amount he wrote on the form was $49,910. Come to find out, this is exactly the same amount that was paid as a rental deposit to "House of Sweden," an office complex in Washington DC, on the space the Bidens were planning to share with Chinese company CEFC.

The amount appears in an October 13, 2017, memo from the general manager of the complex, another document found by the NEW YORK POST's Miranda Devine on Hunter's "laptop from hell." Hunter had inquired about terminating the lease after the deal with CEFC was no more, and he was told, "Please note that there is a security deposit paid by you of $49,910 which will be returned to you within 15 days after the termination of the lease (after inspection of normal wear and tear."

It's hard to know what to make of this, except that it's too much of a coincidence to be a coincidence. No wonder the House Oversight Committee is so eager to follow the money.

If Hunter was actually paying his father $49,910 a month in rent --- or, "rent" --- this was not reflected in Joe's tax returns. We also reported yesterday that Joe Biden's tax returns for 2016, 2017, and 2018, covering the period above, had been removed from the website where Biden had posted all his returns. If you went to that site and clicked to see any of those three years, you would be directed to a Democrat fundraising site.

According to the WASHINGTON EXAMINER, those links went down in July 2022 and, as of Tuesday, are back up. A spokesman for the DNC said that "a couple of links to previous tax returns were broken." The writer at CRANKERS makes websites for a living and says this could NOT have been an accident. "The DNC just spoonfed people a tablespoon of horse manure on that one," he said.

As attention is being focused more specifically on the Biden money trail, this 2010 email from Hunter's laptop seems especially pertinent. It's to Hunter from Rosemont Seneca executive Dick Schwerin, recommending that Hunter talk to his dad, who "could use some positive news about his future earnings potential!" Recall that Jonathan Turley has criticized the DOJ's decision to let Biden's own attorneys --- and at least one White House attorney --- comb through documents at the various locations where classified material has been found, explaining that these attorneys are working on behalf of their client's interest, not the public interest. According to a new story in THE WALL STREET JOURNAL, the DOJ did consider having FBI agents supervise the searching.

But, stunningly, the DOJ decided against that, opting to leave the attorneys on their own. They say this was "to avoid complicating the later stages of the investigation" and also because the attorneys have been cooperating. (Hey, it only took them six years.)

Question: If they're not monitoring what is being done, how do they know the attorneys have been cooperating? Again, as Prof. Turley said, they are operating in their client's interest. And none of them, except the White House counsel who is participating, even have security clearances. Turley said that "...use of private counsel without clearances following the first discovery on November 2 could itself be viewed as reckless and gross mishandling."

Turley noted on Sean Hannity's Tuesday show that the Biden attorney who found the first classified document at the Penn Biden Center was interviewed by the FBI, but the usual "302" notes were not taken.

It looks to me as though Biden and his team are getting just the kind of kid-glove treatment that Hillary and her team received. The 'Justice' Department is just taking the word of Biden's attorneys. When Mar-A-Lago was searched --- by FBI agents --- Trump's attorneys weren't even allowed to WATCH.

2. The Left commits to keep fighting for CRT

By Mike Huckabee

James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas released another blockbuster undercover expose video, this time proving what many of us already suspected: the leftists who’ve infiltrated America’s education system won’t give up indoctrinating kids with divisive, racist garbage without a fight. And they’ll do anything necessary to hide what they’re really doing.

https://www.projectveritas.com/news/evil-salesman-admits-plan-to-violate-georgia-state-law-by-secretly/

The video allegedly captures Dr. Quintin Bostic, a Content Manager for Teaching Lab, billed as a “non-profit organization whose mission is to fundamentally shift the paradigm of teacher professional learning for educational equity.” If you suspect all those fuzzy buzzwords are obscuring something sinister, you’re right.

Project Veritas reports that part of Bostic’s job is to sell teaching curriculums to school districts, and he got them into Cobb and Fulton Counties in Georgia. In the video, he admits that it’s illegal for schools to teach Marxist Critical Race Theory in Georgia, but says, “If you don’t say the words ‘Critical Race Theory,’ you can technically teach it.” He says they sneak it into lessons for kids as young as kindergarten by disguising it as “diversity, equity and inclusion,” and the goal is “to get the kids to influence their parents to make the [ideological] shift too.” He adds, “I would say I’m a good salesman, but I’m also an evil salesman.” Well, at least he’s honest about that.

Bostic says the state doesn’t know what he’s doing and calls Gov. Kemp an “idiot,” but admits that he would “get nailed” and maybe lose his business license if Kemp’s wife, who is very involved in education, found out what he’s doing. I assume she knows now.

I’ll have to be sure to forward this to my daughter Sarah, who is making a lot of great changes in her first days as Governor of Arkansas, including banning Critical Race Theory from schools. I want to make sure she’s aware that the purveyors of it will try to keep pushing it under different names, but it’s still the same poison.

3. This is sad, but not surprising

By Mike Huckabee

House Republicans and attorneys are fighting to secure restitution and reinstatement to US military members who were punished for refusing to submit to the Pentagon’s now-rescinded COVID vaccine mandate. But the Daily Caller talked to a number of affected service members and found that even if they were given the chance, they would not stay on in the service.

https://dailycaller.com/2023/01/18/vaccine-mandate-repairs-reenlist-lost-trust/

They say they feel massively betrayed by the chain of command, they were made to feel like criminals at the very least, their religious freedom rights were violated, and they have lost trust in the military’s leadership. Even though these are some of the most patriotic and dedicated service members, the kind we desperately need, they have no interest in subjecting themselves to what passes for the current leadership in the Pentagon, and who can blame them?

There are a lot of departments in DC that will need a thorough cleaning and fumigation when the next Republican President takes office, hopefully in January of 2025. But I hope that the GOP’s residual respect for the military won’t deter them from cleaning out the upper ranks of the Pentagon as well. This story should provide them with assurance that removing the woke desk jockeys that were installed during the Obama years will not be seen by military members as an assault on America’s armed forces, but as a much-needed corrective.

4. Whiners

Some House Democrats are whining that the new Republican Speaker has removed Eric Swalwell, Ilhan Omar and Adam Schiff from their committees and has now given committee assignments to Republicans Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar. Maybe they should have thought about that before they set the precedent for doing this by removing Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar from their committees.

5. Crackpot Totalitarianism

By Mike Huckabee

Here’s an example of the kind of crackpot totalitarianism that’s being bandied about by the extraterrestrial geniuses at the WEF in Davos: a top German climate scientist argued that every person on Earth should be put under an individual carbon emissions limit of 3 tons a year. If you go over, you have to buy carbon credits from someone who emits less. That would be awfully costly, or (more to the point) require a huge scaling back of civilization, since the average person emits 10 tons of CO2 a year.

https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2023/01/15/individual-co2-limits-needed-to-fight-climate-change-says-german-scientist/

And how could the individual CO2 emissions of everyone on Earth possibly be monitored? No problem: last year at the WEF in Davos, the president of Alibaba announced that the company was developing a digital “individual carbon tracker.” Why, yes, Alibaba is a Chinese company. How did you guess?

I’m not sure where you’re supposed to wear your individual emissions tracker, but if anyone ever tries to assign one to me, I will definitely show him where he can put it.

6. Another reason to leave the UN

By Mike Huckabee

Need another reason to get out of the UN? How about the tweet from the U.N.’s special coordinator for Lebanon, Joanna Wronecka, thanking Ammar Moussawi for giving her a “tour d’horizon” of Lebanon issues. Moussawi is the head of international relations for Hezbollah, which is designated even by the UN as an international terrorist group.

https://www.foxnews.com/world/un-envoy-thanks-hezzbollah-terror-rebuke-israeli-officials

Outraged Israeli officials are demanding an explanation for why she was thanking and taking advice from the head of a terrorist group responsible for murdering a UN peacekeeper. To give you an idea of how outrageous this is, one Israeli official bluntly asked Wronecka, "So how does it feel to be indoctrinated by a terrorist? Care to share with us?" And he’s the head of public diplomacy at Israel’s embassy in Berlin.

It gets weirder and weirder. Hopefully, there will be more .Sarahs elected. Mark my words, Sarah may one day be sitting in the Oval Office. For one thing, although she has a backbone, she is likable. That counts a lot. She also was able to put up with a lot of humiliation while press Secretary, the restaurant and the banquet “comedian” come to mind. She responded with grace and dignity.
