You probably heard that Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, gave an interview to ABC News. The idea was to claim he really is qualified for all those cushy jobs, or at least as qualified as the other unqualified people on those boards, so there’s nothing to see here. Except for the moment where he sort of admits he probably got the job in Ukraine because of his dad. The video is at the link, along with proof that not everyone is buying this.
Hold onto your teeth, here’s some jaw-dropping news:
Three of the four members of the House’s far-far-left “Squad” – Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar – have endorsed socialist Bernie Sanders for President!
While this is hardly surprising, it's being touted as big news because those House members reportedly have influence over two big leftwing voter bases that Bernie needs: youth and people with severe brain damage.
Project Veritas has released part two of its undercover video expose of CNN, but it’s not exactly shocking. We learn that CNN president Jeff Zucker is not only an anti-Trump political partisan who shapes news coverage to push his political agenda (we also learned that from the first video, and from watching 10 minutes of CNN at any time), he’s also more interested in ratings than fair coverage of the Democratic race. And as I would’ve predicted, he doesn’t like Tulsi Gabbard. If she’s ever going to make it in big league Democratic politics, she needs to take some advice from the Talking Heads and “Stop making sense.”
To be fair to CNN, they don’t just try to shape the news to help Democrats look good. They also help set up phony, staged moments at town halls to help Democrats look good.
The word “news” in “Cable News Network” is now officially as accurate as the word “reality” in “reality show.”
Good Read: Derek Hunter at Townhall.com lists a few of the latest examples of how “it’s good to be a Democrat.” For instance, you can be blatantly corrupt and transparently hypocritical, lie like a rug, make offensive or self-incriminating statements, or even commit federal crimes and never be held to account by legal authorities. Meanwhile, the media sweep it all under the rug for you. Republicans not only get raked over the coals by the media and jailed for the slightest offense, they’re even threatened with impeachment if they dare to investigate allegations of crimes committed by Democrats.
Yes, it would be much easier to be a Democrat. If I just turned on my fellow conservatives and stabbed them in the back, I could be celebrated by the elites, invited to all the hottest parties, and maybe even offered a Big Three Network TV show. Only problem is, I’d have to sell out my principles and start believing 10 ridiculous things before breakfast every morning. So I guess I’ll just have to keep living the hard, honest way.
PS from “Huckabee” writer and pop culture historian Pat Reeder:
This Derek Hunter column about how good it is to be a Democrat is obviously inspired by Mel Brooks’ portrayal of King Louis XVI in “History of the World, Part 1,” when he would commit some outrageous abuse of power, then turn to the camera and say, “It’s good to be the King!” Of course, the peasants finally got tired of that and put an end to it in a much sharper way than just electing Donald Trump.
Fun trivia: do you know who was the first white artist ever to land a rap single on Billboard’s top 100 R&B chart? It was Mel Brooks with his rap single of “It’s Good to Be the King,” which made it to #69 in 1981. No white rap act would make that chart again until the Beastie Boys five years later. Here’s the video in which Mel raps about how good it is to be a tyrannical potentate (or a 21st century Democrat politician), with an ending that could serve as a warning to them both.
