TOUGH QUESTIONS

The Commission on Presidential Debates announced the moderators of three Trump-Biden debates and one Pence-Harris debate. They’re pretty much what you’d expect: mostly left-leaning, anti-Trump reporters, but the one for the first debate on September 29th was a surprise: Fox News’ Chris Wallace.

Wallace is not a Trump fan, so it’s not as if Trump will have even one debate where the moderator leans toward him. But he has already subjected himself to a tough interview by Wallace, while Biden has been hiding out from him for weeks. At least one debate might actually feature some tough questions for Biden, thanks to Wallace. Biden can run, but he can’t hide forever. Well, that’s not exactly true. I don’t think he can run anymore.

FIGHTING BACK AGAINST THE CENSORS AT TWITTER

Twitter is constantly locking conservatives’ accounts for “violations of service” or “spreading disinformation” or “fomenting violence,” all of which are euphemisms for “saying things leftists disagree with.” The social media company has been playing with fire for a while, considering that it is only protected from lawsuits because it’s supposed to be a neutral platform, not a “publisher” that exercises control over what gets posted. The constant pushing of the envelope of what constitutes a “neutral violation of terms of service” is making that protection look less defensible every day.

Now, Twitter might have finally picked on the wrong guy. L. Lin Wood is the attorney who brought major TV networks and newspapers to heel for defaming Richard Jewell, and who forced CNN and the Washington Post to their knees after they defamed Nick Sandmann. He’s now representing Kyle Rittenhouse. Twitter decided to lock his account for “glorifying violence” by sending a message that Rittenhouse is innocent and acted in self-defense. And in doing that, Twitter may have poked a bear they’ll wish they’d left alone.

As is often the case when they’re caught red-handed, Twitter reinstated Wood’s account within hours, chalking it up to the account being “incorrectly actioned.” That didn’t satisfy Wood. The furious attorney told Fox News, “I’m going to take (Twitter CEO) Jack Dorsey’s **s down. He has been abusing the First Amendment of this country for his own agenda.” Wood says he’s collecting a “mountain of evidence” to sue Twitter for discriminating against users based on political speech. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving company, although there are plenty of others in Silicon Valley if he’d like to expand that lawsuit.

"LET THEM EAT SHAMPOO" SCANDAL

Good round-up of commentary on Nancy Pelosi’s “let them eat shampoo” scandal, including examples of how the media are trying to brush it off as nothing, rather than as the giant kick in the teeth to working people that it is.

https://pjmedia.com/instapundit/398296/

https://pjmedia.com/instapundit/398155/

I especially love the juxtapositioning of the two photos of Nancy. One shows her in the House, as part of her own tweet lecturing, “No one is above the law, Mr. President,” right next to a photo of her flouting the law to get her hair done without wearing a mask. Correction: Nobody who isn’t a powerful Democrat is above the law.

BEST IDEA OF THE WEEK

Remember that idiotic new book about how looting is good? (It’s redistributing wealth! It enables people to get things they need for free! And insurance companies pay for it, so it doesn’t cost anyone anything – except that many policies don’t cover looting, and those that do will have to raise everyone’s rates to cover what the looters stole.) The publisher expects readers to fork over nearly $26 for that drivel.

Well, Spectator columnist Cockburn is certain that neither the author nor the publisher would want to perpetuate the white supremacist concept of capitalism and intellectual property rights, so he’s written to the publishers to ask permission to post an illegal PDF scan of the book online for free download, as a form of “virtual looting.” He hasn’t heard back yet, but I’m sure there would be no objections. After all, how else would people be able to get the book other than stealing it?

I should warn you, though: even if you read it for free, you’ll still demand your wasted time back.

MORE ON "BLOW-DRY GATE"

Here are the latest developments in “Blow-Dry Gate,” in which House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was caught on security video in a San Francisco salon, getting her hair done while not wearing a mask, two things that Democrats like her constantly tell the rest of us that we can’t do. Having been caught dead to rights exhibiting a massive amount of white liberal privilege, the head House hypocrite claimed that she was “set-up” and insisted that the salon owed her an apology.

I don’t see that happening. In fact, it was such a giant bag of hooey that even CNN’s Don Lemon couldn’t swallow it.

But if it makes Pelosi feel better, the salon owner has already announced that she’ll probably have to close the business she’s struggled to build for 12 years because of the draconian shutdown rules of Gov. Gavin Newsom (remember when the shutdown was just “two weeks to flatten the curve,” about four months ago?) Also because leftist policies have already destroyed her once-thriving neighborhood and turned it into an open-air toilet for homeless people. Also, she’s getting vicious attacks on Yelp and death threats from kind, tolerant liberals who want to murder anyone who interferes in any way with their insane mania for power.

Bryan Preston has a good recap of this story, along with some of the many other recent examples of Democrat politicians availing themselves of services that they deny to everyone else. It’s funny how they try to convince us that people who are hauling around prop guillotines are “peaceful protesters,” considering that “let them eat cake” attitude of theirs is precisely what set off the original French Revolution.

Preston thinks this story could be a tipping point, the “blow-dry heard ‘round the world.” I hope so, but I’m not rooting for anyone to get their hair bobbed with a guillotine. Just going to the polls and voting to throw every one of these Democrat would-be French aristocrats out of office would be solution enough.

WHEN LIBERALS ARE CAUGHT RED-HANDED THEY SING A DIFFERENT TUNE

Here’s some reassuring proof that while the forces of far-left anti-Americanism seem to be moving ever forward, they can be sent scurrying back to their holes if enough people are paying attention and stand up to say, “NO!”

I reported yesterday that a committee of boneheads appointed by Washington, DC, Mayor Murial Bowswer had issued a report suggesting that a number of beloved historic monuments, including the Washington Monument and the Jefferson Memorial, be removed, relocated or “differently contextualized” (i.e., put up signs telling visitors how evil those Founders really were) because they don’t reflect the values of current DC residents (those people of high moral standards who think burning a historic church is “peaceful protest.”)

Well, it didn’t take long for most Americans to suggest that these whining leftist ingrates could go sit on the Washington Monument. President Trump also said their removal would never happen on his watch and Bowser ought to be ashamed for even suggesting it.

And within 24 hours, just like magic, the webpage was rewritten to remove the wording around “removing” or “relocating” the monuments, and the media went to work trying to convince us that they never said that at all. Alas for them, the Internet is forever.

THE MEDIA IS RE-WRITING HISTORY

I assume that if you didn’t just arrive on Earth from the planet Wango, you know what’s been happening over the past few months: lawless, far-left, anti-American mobs from groups like Antifa and BLM have been rioting, burning, looting and assaulting police and civilians in cities and states that have been run solely by Democrats for decades. President Trump has repeatedly offered to send help to restore law and order, but the Democrat politicians would rather spurn Trump than keep their own cities from being burned down. The Democrats spent months denying these were anything but “peaceful protests,” then ignored them completely throughout their convention. It was only when they saw their poll standings starting to crater that they pulled Joe Biden from his basement and loaded up his Teleprompter with some vacuous words about rioting and violence being bad.

Well, that didn’t seem to fool anybody, so now they’re trying the full Orwell: using their PR mouthpieces in the media to try to convince us that nothing we’ve seen or heard with our own ears and eyes is true. No, those rioters weren’t leftists: they were undercover right-wing Trump supporters, trying to stir up unrest so that Trump can run as a law-and-order candidate.

I know you think I’m just being a partisan and trying to write a cartoonishly silly misrepresentation of our fine professional journalist class, but no: they’re actually taking a tinkle on our boots and trying to convince us it’s a rainstorm.

At this MUST-READ link, the Bookworm Room blog takes a deep dive into a stunningly dishonest article by former CNN producer and WaPo writer Frida Ghitis that attempts to rewrite all the recent history we’ve just lived through and convince us not to believe our lyin’ eyes.

Sadly, it’s entirely possible that this kind of transparent gaslighting will actually work on some people (I expect to see Ghitis quoted in social media comments any time now.) So it might be a good idea to bookmark this article and share it with all your friends. Think of it as a form of inoculation against the leftist virus of the mind.

The Left has been doing this for a while now, going after one agenda and when it doesn't work pulling a 180 and saying, no you're lying, that is not our position. It's actually almost funny for them to say Right Wing Trumpsters have been carrying on unlawful riots, when all along they've been saying the riots/demonstrations were really peaceful.

Chris Wallace will not be fair to President Trump. Wallace is s liberal Democrat lying Trump hater. I can't stand to listen to him. None of the moderators will be fair to Trump, but will give the questions and answers to Biden ahead of time. The debates will be a fiasco. Trump and the Republicans should have spoken out against the moderators line-up. Will not waste my time watching, but will go IN PERSON on Nov. 3rd and vote for Trump and every Republican, but No to every lying, phony, American hating Democrat on the ballot.

The number of outlets that share its opinions on tv are becoming an endangered outlet for me. With Fox giving time to anti American Left wing nut jobs people with with the lowest of intelligence as to how they view America Fox is giving them the time to Bash America and the Constitution. Not much time for me to listen to repulsive garbage. Lets just face the truth the Lefties are a hollowed out leeches They and partners on the Right are just the same in it for themselves. Trump is doing the best that can be expected dragging all the deadbeats to try and MAGA is time consuming. Run America like a corporation get rid of Congress and give the assets to police and how about lowering our taxes with the extra drain Congress sucking out of the country.

I think obama's legacy will be one of irreparable damage to this nation. His judges don't follow the law nor did his attorney general. Because he ads black, it became PC to elect incompetent blacks to numerous mayoral and attorney generals portions and that has shown up in their failure to govern. The citizens in their jurisdictions are suffering the consequences. I have mixed emotions about that because they were elected by a majority of those citizens, but those that voted otherwise are punished as well. The nation may never recover from his malfeasance and traitorous reign. A failed experiment of electing a black in hopes of showing we are not a racist nation. The experiment failed because we elected a black with a chip on his shoulder . Imagine if we had picked Ben Carson or Tim Scott instead.

Coming from a military family D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser's actions are a direct insult to all those who fought for, served and built this great nation carved out of the wilderness, paid for with blood, guts and raw determination.

The Declaration of Independence and The U.S. Constitution were written with the highest of ideals not obtained by the imperfect nature of man, but, looking ever forward for all of us to always strive for when our nation had barely reached the Appalachian Mountains.

Thank you President Trump and Interior Secretary David Bernhardt for standing for those noble things that really matter.

Just a side note in my opinion: Mayor Bowser's action's are an attempt by the democrats to deliberately try and demonize our History and Founding Fathers in order to promote their plan for a socialistic country. This is just a little glimpse of what we can expect from the tyrannical socialist party ( former democratic party ) in the future.

I just love the way you have of telling it like it IS. And people need to listen up. Hope there is no way Chris Wallace can slip the questions to Joe's keepers so they can rehearse him ahead of time. My husband says no. Hope he is right. I have zero trust in the left-wingers.

The Speaker said that she was told it was legal fir one person at a time to be in the salon. If that is the case then it would seem to me that all of the beauticians with chairs at said salon should be able to schedule clients one at a time. This would not be full time but better than nothing. I understand masks are required but I guess not for the Speaker. My understanding is that salon blow drying is not permitted. I guess it’s okay for the speaker.
I understand that the Speakers all get the use of a private Jet but this Speaker was Inconvenienced because the jet assigned was smaller and required a fuel stop so she got a bigger plane which expends more fuel and thus pollution. But that is a perk of being speaker. I understand the Speaker is a devout Catholic but supports abortion at all stages of pregnancy, much like Joe Biden. Did the Pope give a special dispensation for these beliefs?
How lovely it must be to believe that one is so much superior to the common person that rules do not apply to oneself. I do believe in some perks for those in positions of high responsibility, but not in braking the rules that apply to others, or upgrading other necessary services at taxpayer expense.
The Speaker has said some pretty vile things about the President. He has been rude and said some pretty nasty thinGd also so it is acceptable to be critical, but not vile. The height if rudeness was to tear up the speech. There were heroic people showcased as part of that speech but then they were not the rich and famous elite for whom there are special rules, or lack thereof.
I wonder where they keep the Speakers Crown Jewels at the Capitol.

Just something in passing. I've heard that the liberal's are thinking of changing the motto 'me too' from this so 'room full of deplorables' saying to the far more refined 'I also'. which matches with the 'new' improved - party image.

How Mike please correct me if I am wrong. As a house representative you are "there" to support your district from where you have been elected. So far so good? Of you are the house speaker does this negate your responsibility to your district? Big it does not than speaker of the house should have been fully aware of what the rules and regulations are on force in her own district. Of not it is a blatant lack of responsibilities to her constituents. How is one representing their district of they are clueless on what is going on in their own district?

ARE YOU KIDDING US??? WALLACE WILL ASK BIDEN TOUGH QUESTIONS??? I WOULD BE SURPRISED IF HE EVEN ASKED A SIMPLE QUESTION LIKE DO YOU KNOW YOUR NAME? NO HE WON'T EVEN ASK THAT AS HE (AND ALL OF THEM) IS AFRAID THAT BIDEN WOULD SCREW THAT UP TOO.
I was going to watch the debates but with Wallace and all the rest being Trump Hating Socialists, WHO NEEDS THAT RIDICULOUS AGGRAVATION???? I don't need to watch that BS for me to know that PRESIDENT TRUMP is THE ONLY ANSWER TO WHO WOULD BE THE BEST FOR AMERICA.

With all the comments people have been making about how unfair it is to be shot in the back by police, I'd like to suggest how to avoid that from happening. OBEY the police if you're pulled over or stopped by them. If they tell you to stop, then STOP! If they ask for I.D. give it to them without "Lip." When I was growing up, the police/sheriff employees were looked up to as the guys who are sworn to uphold the laws. So, when you encounter one because of something you might have done 'wrong' ~ follow their commands BECAUSE at that moment THEY'RE in charge. Every man that's been shot was doing the opposite; running away, NOT stopping. Most likely because they had something to hide or a police record already and weren't man enough to 'deal with it.' Rather, running away was their answer with the plausible thought they could outrun the cops. In a foot race maybe but, only Superman was faster than a speeding bullet. I would also say the guys who run from the police; they're poorly educated and have low I.Q. scores.

Chris Wallace despises Trump and he’s going to be very tough on him. I don’t know that he’ll be tough on Biden. He’s always very respectful to Democrats as seen in his interview with Nancy Pelosi, with whom he is friends. There’s not one commentator that’s going to be fair to Trump. I find this whole thing ridiculous. Why wouldn’t the Trump campaign insist on one commentator who would be fair? And ask tough questions of Biden?

    Governor
I am 69 and still have to work 6 days a week to afford to live in the state I was born in ( New Jersey ). I am a registered Democrat since I was 18 (although I do not vote on party lines most of the time). I read your articles every day and have one complaint. They are so well written and when I click on your links to verify your statements it takes me away from trying to make money to pay my Property Taxes which are the highest in the country and all of the other hidden taxes which also are close to the highest in the country. I really enjoy your daily articles but if I keep reading them I will have to get a 2nd job just to stay here in NJ with my family. Please keep up the GREAT work and I continue to think you would have been a better President than Mr. Trump but honestly he is the only one now who can set America in the right direction.

I'm not a fan of Chris Wallace. I'm pretty sure he'll come down hard on the President, but he should give VP Biden extremely tough questions. If Chris goes soft on Joe Biden, Chris will lose more viewers than he's lost already.
It was totally disgusting what Gov. Cuomo said about it's President Trump's fault the virus hit NY. He is so ungrateful what was done for NY. Cuomo should face charges for what he did with the COVID patients in nursing homes. My hats off to Janice Dean calling for an investigation. It's a amazing how they overlook the crimes, deaths, & destruction, & of course no bail for any offenders. I think the President made a mistake by saying he would defund these rioting cities, but Congress holds the purse, so you know where that is going. I do fear the upcoming election! I don't want to believe the polls that are coming out already. What about the Silicone Valley Mafia??? The President has to stay on message, jobs, healthcare, law & order, COVID vaccine, & continued foreign relationships & deals. I know we're dealing with definitely 2 different personalities. The outsider & the swamp. I do wish he would tone down the name calling as you have heard many times before. I can't really say anything nice about Pelosi. She got caught & that's that. Liar, liar, pants on fire, ha, ha! What would DC look like if all these monuments & statues are removed, the naked city! How is Europe, Asia, all the other countries handling their history? I know in the beginning of the death of George Floyd, it ripped around the world.
    Thanks for another great read.
