Evening Edition - June 27

Remember when people used to complain about there being no difference between the Democrats and the Republicans? Is anyone still saying that now? It’s not just like comparing apples and oranges, it’s like the difference between Goofus and Gallant. Or Superman and Bizarro World Superman.

To start with, Minneapolis, like other big, longtime one-party Democrat cities, has suffered widespread riots, arson and looting and destruction of public statues and monuments by people who seem to thank that if you smash historic monuments, you change history (or as I call that, “Taliban logic.”) Their Goofus response: on Friday, the Minneapolis city council (which has not one single Republican) voted unanimously to abolish the police department. Some residents who vowed not to call the police and were immediately inundated with hundreds of homeless people and their various drug dealers and other problems could probably tell you where this is going to lead.

A local business owner whose bookstore was destroyed by arson said there are legitimate problems with the police, “but the way the politicians are going about it is just ridiculous. They are pandering to a certain segment of the public.” He said he won’t reopen his store if city leaders push through a “sufficiently stupid” plan. I feel confident that the one and only way in which the Minneapolis city council will exceed expectations is in the field of stupidity.

Fortunately, the city council doesn’t have the power to abolish the police force unless the citizens vote for it in November. Let’s hope they’re now undergone enough of the traditional process for clearing up one’s thinking (“A conservative is a liberal who got mugged”) to vote to abolish the current city council instead.

On the other side, President Trump’s Gallant response to the unrest was to sign an executive order requiring enforcement of federal laws against vandalizing public monuments and government property, providing assistance for protecting it, and withholding federal support and grants from local authorities who fail to do their jobs and protect it.

Trump has also taken measures to declare the violent radical left group Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization, and his DOJ is reportedly already conducting dozens of investigations of their organizers. Meanwhile, Democratic Rep. Jerrod Nadler (Goofus, NY) stood up in the House and declared Antifa to be “imaginary.” That’s right: the same guy who wasted many months and untold tax dollars to impeach the President over nonexistent crimes, and who has spent years pushing a Russian collusion hoax, believes that it’s Antifa that’s imaginary.

At that link, Republican Rep. Jim Jordan disabuses Rep. Nadler of his delusions, and at this link, so does a former Antifa member, who was quite surprised to learn that all the rocks he threw through windows were actually part of a quilting circle.

Rep. Nadler might also want to check out this video and ask himself, “If Antifa is imaginary, who sprayed that extremist graffiti, shoemaker’s elves?”

Senate Republicans offered up a serious police reform bill similar to but not as radical as the one from House Democrats. It was largely crafted by Sen. Tim Scott, one of the few black Senators and someone who’s had personal experience with racial profiling. Democrats, who claimed to care so much about black people that a bill had to be passed by July 4th, filibustered the Senate bill to kill it so it couldn’t even open up for changes and amendments, then insulted Republicans using racially charged terms such as “token.” Here was Sen. Scott’s response:

He also called Nancy Pelosi’s attempt to blame Republicans for the murder of George Floyd outrageous and sinful.

Meanwhile, back in Goofus Town, Speaker Pelosi claimed that only the Democratic House bill is worthy of “George Kirby’s name.” FYI: George Floyd was killed by a police officer in solidly Democratic Minneapolis. George Kirby was a gifted comedian and impressionist, best known for the 1970s TV show, “The Kopykats,” with fellow mimics Rich Little and Frank Gorshin. He was black, though, so she got that part right.

And while Democrats claim to be displaying their deep concern for black people by tearing down statues of Abraham Lincoln, the Republican who freed the slaves from their Democrat masters, the far-left California legislature just voted to put a measure on the ballot to rescind the state constitutional amendment barring discrimination based on race, gender or national origin. They claim this is good because it will allow them to impose race-based discrimination they approve of, so that the state can openly judge people by the color of their skin, not the content of their character. Since this is California, I won’t call that “Goofus” thinking. Let’s just call it Goofy.

If you’re getting demoralized by all the polls showing Joe Biden winning in a landslide, don’t be. That’s the whole point of them. I’ll remind you that at this point in 2016, Hillary was supposedly ahead by 13 points, and I got plenty of eye rolls when I predicted that Trump would win. But if you wonder whether the majority of your fellow Americans have really gone crazy, then this might cheer you up a little.

Reporter Brian Cates reminds us of a number of important factors that the poll takers fail to take into account, such as state organization, ground game and campaign war chests. But the most important one of all is this:

“The Democratic party has openly turned into a party of stark raving lunatics.”

To be fair, I don’t know if the Party leaders are lunatics, or if they’re just pandering to lunatics, but neither one is a very convincing argument for giving them power over your life, your job, your business, your home and your family.

An interesting observation from liberal law professor Jonathan Turley: Michael Flynn’s judge would obviously love nothing better than to railroad him into prison, but it was a blunder the judge himself made that made it possible for Flynn’s attorneys to finally turn the tables on the prosecutors and get the charges dropped.

You can tell the election is drawing near when, after two years of doing nothing but trying to impeach the President, House Democrats are suddenly passing legislation. It’s legislation like a police reform bill that they know the Senate will never pass, and a doomed DC statehood bill that’s been on their wish list for ages and they also know the Senate will never pass. I guess they figure if you do it fast enough, furious pandering can look like actual progress.

I wonder if the Democrats think Biden is the only one that stands a chance of winning vs Trump (and if he should -God forbid-(as soon as they after the election they will declare him incompetent and replace him with who ever is the vice president.

Say Pray now per the President has a hard time and I could not face all he has had now on his place and the attacks that were lies and made up scenarios to take him down. Now this Virus and the Blacks go crazy and on a rampage and we are changing names , places what will we know later. Get rid of the whole Civil War and all that was part of that time. Get rid of our history and how we got started per Washington as President. But this is my country too and this is my history and family an d they did what they did in fighting for their beliefs and what I try to comprehend if so terrible and nothing can be used to show our hx in any form then why stay here no one is a prisoner here. Pack up easily plane fare is cheap and go. DC is ours all of the US no not a state by itself. Stop on our statues and those who just decide they can take them down when been there forever and no one even noticed and there is this group out to do these things. Now we get even NASCAR which was based on the Southerns and loved the Flag to show this not to ever say anti Blacks and wanting slaves. Twist things to fit what they want. And Gov I say go ahead get them out all no more ever statues also one of Martin Luther King NONE so to make all races happy. There DC the Jefferson has to now come down , Lincoln . Change all the info on the Washington that took forever to rebuild name it something like No More statues. Gov yes must take White off the White House make it the Peoples house or the racist house? Find a new place for the Presidents. Just make this a museum. Find a place near a base for more protection and to live and do business from now on. President has to if he is to stay become strong and stop this now and get in those who can clear out that area of Seattle if the residents and the business peoples say not what they wanted ? If the want this then let this group stray there. Rest will move if majority says okay. Amazing one race at 14% has this power what will the next one decide and want per they are over double. Then the next and the next what is left per we are so many races not just this and to see sports changing, TV, our books, our movies we have lost our minds . Maybe it was this Chinese Virus.

The City Charter of Minneapolis REQUIRES the city council to maintain a police department of size proportionate to the population. The city council is putting a ballot issue to the voters in November to AMEND the City Charter so that they can get rid of the police department. There's always a small chance that the voters won't go for it. https://www.fox9.com/news/city-council-oks-charter-amendment-to-remove-minneapolis-police-department

After Trump is reelected with majorities in both Houses of Congress war should be declared the anarchists who have declared war against the USA and are engaged in overthrowing our constitutional Republic government bit-by-bit and hold them in military prison at Guantanamo without bail pending prosecution in military court; for the anarchists who are also US citizens add treason to the charges. and for the non-US citizens held as enemies of state combatants.

    The Polls worry me.
Biden is feeling his “oats” and putting together his transition team. The polls give him the edge.
Are the people serious? We know Biden cannot endure and his VP will will take his place. Can you imagine Susan Rice, or Kamala Harris as President? God forbid!
What worries me is the RHINOS for Biden? Are they serious?? Knowing how left the Party has gone? The scares me?

Please know that I, and I’m sure many others, do not believe the polls stating that Biden is ahead of President Trump. Just like the last election when the so called polls had Trump behind, I believe there are many conservatives who do not answer polls. However, we do vote and certainly know that this election is critical for our freedom! Thank you for keeping us informed with your news letters!

Goofus Village, Minneapolis council! Then we have Goofus #1 Nadler, Antifa is imaginary & Goofus Leader Pelosi, George Kirby, comedian, instead of George Floyd killed by a police officer. I'm sure there's a host of Goofus' within the democrats. These gaffs must of been from Biden's gaff book.
If I lived & could leave these areas governed by the mob, I would move. Their safety is at risk. I felt so bad for Sen. Scott, it saddened me. He put all his heart & soul in his address on the Senate floor.
It's absolutely insanity what that judge did to Lt. Gen. Flynn. Continued prayers for him & his family.
I think the President should constantly go after these democratic Mayors & Governors to let those people in their states understand what's happening, like almost brainwash them with the truth how their economy, schools, police, debt, etc. are hurting them. But he has to be tactful with his way of words & show compassion. I know he has offered help, but they want money for the whole they dug for themselves.
And then we have Goofus, NY, Mayor DeBozo, who wants to paint BLM in front of Trump Towers. Oh, Goofus, NY, Gov. Cuomo, the complainer, blaming the President for lives lost from the virus.
We may be fighting with COVID-19, but I think there is a new virus "Lunatics At Large!"
Governor Mike, thanks for another great read & your humor. It caught my attention as you can see from my comments (Goofus).

Solution: President Trump calls the National Guard to round up the anarchists in each city/state. Put them in prison 4 to a cell. Give them breakfast and then with armed guards transport them to various 8 hour a day jobs. They return to prison where they get dinner and housing for the night and back to work in the morning. Their paychecks go straight to funding to restore businesses destroyed and the restoration of statues and monuments. This continues for as long as it takes.

Live in rural northern MN....and....I don't see the "abolish the police" move in Minneapolis ending in a good way. And...right now....to use John Lennon's words: "Just imagine" the morale of the police working on the force in Minneapolis right now. And then..."Just Imagine" the outcome of a city-wide (a "sanctuary city") vote where Ilhan Omar is "leading the charge". Then "Just imagine" the voter fraud that will take place all across the state because Minneapolis is the city where ALL MAIL goes FIRST to be "sorted" before it comes back to the respective cities and town post offices for further sorting and processing, Exactly what is the sense in this? There is none! It is past time for "LOCAL MAIL" that STAYS local to be reinstated all across the state!!!!!

Thank you for all the information you send and for the defense of sanity. I can't imagine our country with out a police force. Yes, there are some in the force that misbehave, but look at our politicians. If you have a few that misbehave, do you get rid of Congress?

Since Bush and Obama took the Presidency , it wasn’t long and people started getting on welfare and food stamps and didn’t want a Job anymore . In our neighbor hood no one works, and this was even before the virus , nothings changed much , with the virus going on . Now days if you would tell someone to go out and get a Job and work for a living . They’d say your a racist . Biden is Dumb as a rock and has to be told what to say , to stay in good standing with Nancy and Chuck . Biden could not be a President , without having Nancy Chuck, Obama and Hillary in his back pocket , to give him advice .

Well said! There are other demoralizing factors. The American people have been LIED to by these “ experts “ on this lockdown that has ruined lives! People bowing to failed political hack experts on what could happen while ignoring the damage of chicken little has caused. Four years into this administration and either FBI or DOJ have NOT prosecuted ONE person in the Coup against Trump. If you or I had did this to Obama we would have already been in jail a few years. People are losing faith and feeling we have LOST OUR COUNTRY and Trump needs to see this. He IS the President he CAN push Barr or Durham to get moving whether they or the media or the COWARDLY REPUBLICANS( not all such as Jordan to Howley etc ) like it or not. America’s patience is wearing thin. No justice for us and our President, being constantly insulted by leftist over our skin color or heritage and not towing the line of the Leftist loons. Pray.
