THE EVENING EDITION By Mike Huckabee

Good evening! Here are some stories from me that I think you will want to read.

THE LATEST

1.  SUPREME COURT HEARS ARGUMENTS IN SECOND AMENDMENT CASE: Wednesday, the Supreme Court heard arguments in a major Second Amendment case. It’s a challenge to New York’s restrictive law that requires someone to cite a specific threat they face in order to get a permit to carry a gun. Judging from the Justices’ questions, there’s a good chance they will find that to be a vague and unreasonable burden on citizens' Constitutional rights.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/supreme-court-gun-rights-concealed-carry-permit-new-york-lawrictive-ny-gun-permit-law

I guess “I live in New York” was not considered a specific enough threat.

2. "GARBAGE": President Biden dismissed as “garbage” a report that his Administration is considering offering reparations of up to $450,000 to illegal immigrants whose families were separated at the border. Be that as it may, about 140 House Republicans have signed onto a proposed new law called the Illegal Immigration Payoff Prohibition Act that would ban any such payments.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/house-gop-bill-block-reported-biden-plan-pay-illegal-immigrants-450k

I guess they’ve figured out that just because Biden denies that he plans to do something, that doesn’t mean he won’t eventually do it. Also, just because a policy is garbage, that doesn’t mean he won’t try to do it. Case in point…

3. KIDS MUST SHOW PROOF OF VACCINATION IN THIS CITY:  San Francisco has just become the first city to announce that children ages 5 to 11 will soon be required to show a record proving they’ve been vaccinated for COVID in order to access indoor businesses such as restaurants, movies and gyms. There’s already talk of adopting this model in New York, Seattle and other Democrat-run cities.

https://www.foxnews.com/us/san-francisco-children-proof-of-vaccine

Critics argue that there have been zero deaths of children in this age range in San Francisco, that they are highly unlikely to get it, and if they do, they have a 99.99% chance of surviving it. Many parents worry that despite the FDA approval, potential vaccine reactions may be more dangerous to kids than COVID. And studies show children pose little risk of infection to adults.

A commenter on this story also made a good separate point: the same liberal politicians who think it’s an intolerable burden to make a 40-year-old show an ID to vote think it’s perfectly reasonable to force a five-year-old to carry a vaccination ID and show it to do anything.

4. GREENWALD HIGHLIGHTS WASHINGTON POST'S AGENDA JOURNALISM

These days, you know you’re getting old if you can remember when “journalism” meant ferreting out the facts and reporting them, not manipulating them like a stacked deck of cards to promote a particular narrative.

These days, “news” outlets have become so blatant in their bias, they no longer even bother to try to conceal it. One of the last real journalists out there, Glenn Greenwald, has a great example at his (of course) independent website at Substack.

https://greenwald.substack.com/p/to-protect-fauci-the-washington-post

Greenwald reports that the group White Coat Waste Project was successful for years at fighting cruel and unnecessary animal experiments by remaining bipartisan. They appealed to both liberal animal rights activists and conservative opponents of wasting tax money. And for years, the Washington Post ran positive articles about them. Until…their expose of horrific experiments on beagle puppies funded by the NIH reflected badly on St. Anthony Fauci.

Suddenly, WaPo assigned a team of reporters to try to dig up dirt and prove the group was secretly funded by big “dark money” donations from hidden conservative or pro-Trump groups. No matter how much documentation they provided to show they’ve never taken any money from any conservative group (they’re funded almost entirely by small donations, the average gift in 2020 being $32.17), WaPo kept demanding more.

A spokesman said they even pressed them on whether they will continue not to take money from any dark money group, and asked if they were concerned that their expose on beagle torture might harm Dr. Fauci’s credibility and make it harder for him to manage the COVID crisis. They believe the paper wants to impugn their motives so its liberal readers can dismiss what they have to say.

How desperate must a liberal media outlet be to protect their secular saint, Dr. Anthony Fauci, to be willing to slander people who are trying to stop puppy torture if it helps him keep his job?

5. LATEST DEVELOPMENT IN KYLE RITTENHOUSE'S TRIAL

Prosecutors started out by telling jurors that they would prove Rittenhouse chased down his victims and shot them instead of acting in self-defense. But newly-released FBI surveillance footage appears to show the opposite: that the people he shot were chasing him down.

6. CONGRATS AND THANKS TO VIRGINIA LT. GOV-ELECT WINSOME SEARS

Winsome Sears is a name we’ll be hearing a lot more in the coming days and years, now that she’s won the 2021 race for Lt. Governor in Virginia and shown herself to be the most refreshing spokesperson in America on the issue of race. Leftists, better sit down: she did it by saying we need to think a lot LESS about race. You folks at CNN and MSNBC who talk compulsively in terms of “dog whistles” (which only you hear) and “code” (which only you recognize) will probably not have her as a guest very often, as she will good-naturedly wipe the floor with you every time.

https://waynedupree.com/2021/11/winsome-sears-jemele-hill/

Sears is black and makes it clear she “identifies” as black, having immigrated legally to the U.S. from Jamaica at age 6, in 1963 when the Civil Rights Movement was still raging. But today, she clearly sees the damage caused by the relentless emphasis on race. “We’re framing too many issues in terms of race and it just continues to divide us,” she told FOX NEWS’ Martha MacCallum on Wednesday. “And, unfortunately, politicians are using it as a tool because of the things that have happened to us historically to advance, I would think, their nefarious purposes.”

https://www.foxnews.com/media/winsome-sears-virginia-election-race

“In case you haven’t noticed, I am black,” she said in her speech to introduce Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin early Wednesday. “And I have been black all my life, but that’s not what this is about.” Yes, she's the first black woman to win statewide office in Virginia, but that’s not the way she wants to think of this achievement. “I didn’t run to make history,” she said. “I just wanted to make it better than I found it. And with your help, I’m going to do that.”

Stop looking at race, she says, and start looking at people. “I didn’t do anything special to get here except stay in school and study,” she told MacCallum. She's right; that’s the best advice any young person could get. Success is just being in America and taking advantage of the opportunities here.

One way she did that was to join the U.S. Marine Corps. “When I joined the Marine Corps, I was still a Jamaican,” she said. (She was 19 then and became a U.S. citizen one year later.) “But this country had done so much for me I was willing to die for tis country.”

Later, when she wanted to attend college but had three children under age 5, she was just determined, even putting one of her kids on the back of her bicycle with her to get to class, and she earned a masters degree in organizational leadership from Regent University. Before she got into politics, winning a term from 2002 to 2004 in Virginia’s House of Delegates --- the first black Republican woman and first naturalized citizen to do so, and the first Republican to win a majority-black district since 1865 --- she was the director of a Salvation Army homeless shelter. She also led a men’s prison ministry.

After leaving politics, she became the owner of an appliance and plumbing repair store in Virginia –- having learned electronics in the Marines –- and also served as vice president of the Virginia Board of Education. Her run for lieutenant governor this year marks her return to politics after almost two decades.

“America allowed me to come and do for myself and my family,” she said. “No one can say to me I don’t know what it is to be poor. You’re looking at the American Dream.”

“We’re always going to have problems,” she said. “I understand that. I’m not saying we’re perfect. But you can see those people at the border right now trying to get in. They’re dying to get in because they know if they can put a foot on American soil, the trajectory of their lives will change just as it did for my father.”

She noted that times have changed since her father arrived here with $1.75 in his pocket. “There are some who want to divide us and we must not let that happen,” she said in her speech. “They would like us to believe that we are back in 1963 when my father came.” But we’re not. “I’m living proof,” she said.

On “FOX & Friends” early Wednesday morning, before her win was official, she showed herself to be a good spokesperson for those of faith as well, calling her projected win “a God thing.” She said she had little money, a ragtag staff, and was outspent and “outgunned, if you will.” And yet it happened.

Speaking of guns, we linked yesterday to a picture of Sears looking every bit the Marine, confidently carrying her AR-15 at a target range last April. If you missed it, here it is.

https://twitter.com/CarmineSabia/status/1455717349265494020?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1455717349265494020%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.foxnews.com%2Fpolitics%2Fwinsome-sears-victory-speech-usa-chant-virginia

Gun-control activists in Virginia have been trying since 2019 to put in place new restrictions on “assault” weapons, but the win by this strong 2nd Amendment advocate does not reflect positively on their chances.

During her campaign, she advocated for increasing pay for teachers and law enforcement, cutting taxes and expanding veteran care centers. And even though she de-emphasizes race in our political dialogue, she also said she’d push for the creation of a Black Virginians Advisory Cabinet for the governor and for a “once-in-a generation investment” in historically black colleges and universities.

Here are a few more details about this rising star, from her campaign website.

https://winsomesears.com/about/

One of the best profiles we’ve found of her was written by Eleanor Vaughn for AMAC, the Association of Mature American Citizens, in September, as the campaign was in full swing.

https://amac.us/for-winsome-sears-making-history-is-second-nature/

Here’s another good one, which mentions that Sears actually is dismayed by the dismantling of Confederate statues. “The curious thing,” she said, “is that I have spoken to enough black people, and what they’re telling me is they wanted the statues up, so that they could talk to their children about who this person was, what they did, what they didn’t do.” (See, it’s as Trump said: there ARE “fine people” on both sides of the statues argument.)

Incidentally, the Squad completely ignored the win by THIS black female. Surprised?

At this writing, Sean Hannity’s Wednesday TV interview of Sears had not yet been posted, but I hope you'll check it out. Her words to Democrats not telling her how to vote because she’s black are magnificent.

Sears definitely has a sassy side. Here she is in a tweet spoofing Kamala Harris shortly she and Joe Biden were elected. And yes, “based” is a compliment, and it fits. It means to have some swagger, to not care much what others think.

This one is a hoot as well.

https://www.foxnews.com/media/winsome-sears-trolls-the-lincoln-project-virginia

No, Sears is not a natural-born U.S. citizen, but perhaps someday we’ll be considering the repeal of that one qualification for President. Hey, she wasn’t born here, but she got here as fast as she could. Congratulations, Winsome Sears.

Even though Biden says the reparation monies is garbage do we believe him? The ACLU is saying something different. What do you want to bet that there will be monies paid to these individuals? Just saying... Biden lies about most everything so why should this be any different?

Biden unconstitutional vaccine mandates should be an alarm to parents about the children and vaccines Biden is wrong with every thing he touches and let’s face some facts the CDC and FDA are corrupt agencies and for me have the same rating as today’s congress parents need to be aware of Biden and his mandates he’s is clueless in regards to most issues with the exception of corruption where he is truly a masterpiece

Where is the ACLU these days to contest the vax mandate which is totally against Americans civil liberties. And it is fine to force vaccinations on Americans, but the Democrats don't demand it on the illegals coming in at the southern border. Proof that Biden et al don't care about the sickness that is coming in illegally, they love it! It is so maddening that the 'Biden cartel' gets away with all this garbage. I hate to know what another 3 years of this crap will do!

Lets not overlook Terry McCauliffe's accomplishment in this election. He managed to do something not done since Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign. He managed to shoot himself in the foot while his foot was still in his mouth!

Governor, I have a somewhat sideways look at the idea that Americans are racist and some people are victims. And that is through the 1960's War on Poverty. I grew up in an economically depressed Appalachian county. When the Johnson administration introduced "the poverty line" many, perhaps most, Appalachian folks viewed being "below the poverty line" as a stigma and somethibg to be ashamed of. We were being told we were poor and "disadvantaged". It doesn't do to be petted and pampered and told you should feel sorry for yourself. It is unhealthy emotionally and mentally. It is morally wrong to rob people of dignity and self-respect. Those are things that are uniquely each persons and are precious. The War on Poverty went off the rails because "poverty" was measured only by dollars. God help us if that is the best we can do. We were rich in things that mattered far more and it was in those things that we were impoverished in that "War". And tragically some were defeated in thise things and surrendered.

    Governor:

Why hasn't a single AG in a Republican state filed state 'Wrongful Death' charges against Fauci??? It is clearly provable he has lied to Congress about "gain of function". Seems like this would be a no brainer case to file against him.

Republicans' need to shut up and actually do something besides go on Newsmax and Fox and talk.

In the early days of Covid we heard a lot about "HERD IMMUNITY", Now that we have 70% or so vaccinated, PLUS some unknown % with immunity, whatever happened to that IMMUNITY?
