Democrats Don’t WANT Mueller to Testify

When Attorney General William Barr decided not to testify voluntarily before the House Judiciary Committee after they had changed the rules at the last minute, Democrats made a huge deal out of it. The committee voted to hold him in contempt for not turning over the entire unredacted Mueller report, even though they hadn’t taken advantage of the opportunity to read almost the entire thing, and even though it contained grand jury material that would have been illegal to release. However, when they failed to reach an agreement with special counsel Robert Mueller to testify sometime soon, Democrats simply backed away from the idea. As much as they said they wanted to talk to him, I think they’ve reconsidered and realize that it might not be such a good idea.

That’s because the Republicans get to ask questions, too. And I would be popping the popcorn for that.

Oh, the Democrats on the committee will still PRETEND that they want to talk with him, but it will no longer be that important that he come in. When committee chairman Jerrold Nadler was asked if Mueller would be testifying before Memorial Day recess, which starts next Friday, he simply said, “I would assume not.” Gosh, he didn’t bring up anything at all about subpoenaing Mueller or holding him in contempt.

#2 story: Calm before the storm for intelligence community

By Mike Huckabee

We’re on the verge of some huge revelations about what was really going on within the intelligence community concerning the Steele dossier and the investigation of Trump. For now, have confidence that we’ll be on the facts as they roll out.

For now, recall that one “clue” from just the other day was that U.S. Attorney John Durham, appointed by Attorney General Bill Barr to investigate the beginnings of the FBI “Trump/Russia” probe, needs to look at the emails exchanged between then-FBI Director James Comey and CIA Director John Brennan in December of 2016. These reportedly discussed how the (unverified) information in the dossier might be used during the presidential transition.

Something tells me Durham was already well aware of these emails.

#3 story: Persistence pays in search for REAL story of election interference

By Mike Huckabee

Persistence is paying off for investigative reporters like John Solomon and watchdog groups like Judicial Watch. Events are unfolding across the ocean that shed light on the REAL “foreign election interference.” FOIA lawsuits filed months and even years ago that might have seemed futile now yield treasure troves of documents. It’s easy to become frustrated with the waiting, hoping the full story will emerge soon and justice will be done, but remember how long Tom Fitton has been waiting for some of his efforts to bear fruit. Much of the fruit is suddenly ripe for the picking and is starting to fall from the tree. Harvest time is here.

We’ve just seen the story, courtesy of Judicial Watch, of how Andrew Weissmann, of all people, personally assembled the special counsel team looking into Trump and Russia. That sure explained a lot. Judicial Watch also obtained documentation from December of 2012 that the White House was tracking a FOIA lawsuit that had to do with Hillary’s personal server. Sure makes you wonder what ELSE concerning Hillary (not to mention Trump) the Obama White House might have monitored.

#4 story: Pelosi takes it back

By Mike Huckabee

Did you think that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her fellow Democrats had spent the past year or so claiming that there was no crisis at our southern border?  Well, how wrong you are!  Maybe you thought you heard them say the phrase “manufactured crisis” so many times that they must be getting a royalty every time it’s mentioned, but no: they never called it a crisis.  Who are you gonna believe: Nancy Pelosi or your lyin’ ears?

Granted, she phrased it this way for maximum obfuscation: “We have never not said that there was a crisis.” But using the rule that a double negative adds up to a positive,  I assume that in plain English, that means they’ve always said there was a crisis.  Which they did not, never.

Naturally, she can’t simply admit they were denying it because Trump said there was, and they have to take up a contrary position to Trump on everything until it become untenable.  If he said that water is wet, they’d disagree with him up until the moment before they drowned in the stuff.  But she had to add a caveat that somehow puts the onus back on Trump:

#5 story: Beyond doubt: The FBI had to know FISA spy application was untrue

By Mike Huckabee

Before getting into John Solomon’s latest revelation of what the FBI was doing in the fall of 2016 –- yes, it’s even worse –- it might be good to preface that with the finding in a new poll by THE HILL that a majority of Americans support investigating the FBI’s conduct at the start of the “Russia” investigation. They're finally catching a whiff of the rat we’ve been smelling for close to three years now --- in fact, for many of us, the smell of this rat is enough to knock us over. It’s only the most partisan Democrats who are still wearing giant nose clips.

And another preface: there is a clear contradiction between former Attorney General Loretta Lynch and former FBI Director James Comey concerning his claim that she told him to call the Hilary email investigation a “matter.” (I’d say that from the way they conducted their “investigation,” it really WAS more like a matter, in that they didn’t seriously investigate Hillary at all.) We know about this because of more closed-door congressional testimony released by Rep. Doug Collins of Georgia. According to the Washington Examiner, she also answered “Never” when asked by Jerry Nadler if Obama ever demanded or requested that the FBI or DOJ infiltrate or surveil the Trump campaign for political purposes.

Booker looks for a boost

By Mike Huckabee

Sen. Corey Booker hopes to give his lagging presidential campaign a boost by cashing in on the Alabama pro-life law and announcing that if he’s elected President, he’ll bring abortion right into the White House.  Well, not literally, although I’m sure Planned Parenthood would love to set up a clinic there, and I imagine most of the Democrats running would be delighted to give them space in the East Wing.

Booker says that he will set up a special initiative right in the White House to “advance reproductive rights” which will be called the “White House Office of Reproductive Freedom.”  As the writer at the link notes, that sounds more palatable to voters than the “White House Office of Killing Babies.”  “Reproductive rights” and “reproductive freedom” are the latest fuzzy euphemisms to join “pro-choice” as ways of saying “killing children in the womb” without actually having to say it.

At the link, Booker goes on about all the things he’ll do to make abortion not “safe, legal and rare,” which used to be the mantra of the left, but legal, available from any ill-educated quack or uninspected clinic, and as plentiful as hot dogs at a ballpark.  He even vows that one of his first moves would be to try to repeal the Hyde Amendment, so that our federal taxpayer dollars could be used to pay for more abortions.

I am staunchly pro-life, but after reading this, I look forward to the day, coming soon I hope, when we will be referring to Sen. Booker’s campaign in the past tense as “Corey Booker’s abortive presidential run.”

A Republican at Google

By Mike Huckabee

Twitter’s permanent ban of a couple of leftists had me thinking I might have woken up in Bizarro World this morning.  But then I saw this story about what happened to an engineer who worked for Google and made the fatal mistake of letting his co-workers know he was a Republican.

https://www.westernjournal.com/republican-google-employee-reveals-outrage-mobs-hateful-conservatives-tech-giant/

And then I realized that I was still in the same old Bizarro World we were all living in yesterday.

Twitter banning

By Mike Huckabee

Wow, here’s something you don’t see every day: two politically-oriented Twitter users have been banned from the site permanently for breaching terms of service – and they’re not conservatives!

The banished twits are Brian and Ed Krassenstein, two virulently anti-Trump brothers who had, respectively, 700,000 and 900,000 followers.  A Twitter spokesperson said, “The Twitter Rules apply to everyone.” However, the anti-Trump bros didn’t get the boot merely for tweeting something that someone took offense to, but for "operating multiple fake accounts" and "purchasing account interactions" to inflate their influence.

So while it’s definitely “man bites dog” level news for a tech giant to ban a couple of lefties, we now know just how big an infraction that actually takes.  If you want me to believe both sides are treated equally, then tell me when someone on the left is banned for simply expressing an opinion that offends NRA members.
