By her own definition of refusing to accept legally-certified election results, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is considering committing treason and insurrection.

But then, it would hardly be the first time Pelosi attempted to abuse her powers to overthrow a duly-elected political office holder in a potential coup attempt.

If we really want to protect our democratically-elected government from a serious insurrection threat, maybe we should put razor wire fencing and a few thousand troops between Nancy Pelosi and the Capitol.

Joe Biden and school closures

The $1.9 trillion “COVID-19 relief” bill just signed by President Biden showers money on public schools, but he’s still not ordering teachers’ unions to go back to work. This, despite multiple vaccines and scientific studies showing that schools are an extremely low risk for spreading the coronavirus. Now, there’s even more evidence of the necessity for union teachers to do what grocery clerks have done all along and start acting like essential workers.

A new report examined 130 studies of the effects of school closures and online-only classes on students, and the results are grim. Kids’ learning has been set back so much that achievement gaps may persist until they finish high school, harming their longterm prospects in life and reducing their likely future earnings. The damage has been particularly bad for poor children, minorities and at-risk students whose parents don’t have access to options like tutors or private school. Of course, this is just the academic damage; it doesn’t even get into the psychological, emotional and physical problems caused by forcing kids to stay isolated in the house for a year.

The report concludes that “closing schools should be a last resort and done only after all other community mitigation measures have been deployed. In such cases, there should be extreme urgency to reopen schools as quickly and safely as possible.”

If the politicians who are boasting about the effectiveness of the vaccines and exhorting us to wear masks because they prevent the transmission of the virus really believe what they’re saying, why aren’t they ordering teachers’ unions to give their members shots and masks and tell them to get back to work?

"Run, Herschel, Run"

Former President Trump has been urging his friend, NFL legend Herschel Walker, to "run, Herschel, run" for Senate in his home state of Georgia. The state’s far-left incumbent, Raphael Warnock, just won the runoff election, but it was to fill the unexpired term of Johnny Isakson; so Warnock has to run again in 2022 for a full six-year term. A new Trafalgar Group poll shows him beating several Republicans, but losing to Walker, who has an 81.3% approval rating.

Incidentally, the same poll found that 70% of Georgians said they would vote for Trump in 2024, and 55.5% disapprove of the job Biden is doing. Makes you wonder how Biden could have won Georgia, but you’d better not wonder that out loud.

$27 Million

The city of Minneapolis agreed to pay a record $27 million wrongful death settlement to the family of George Floyd.

As the article at the link points out, paying such a settlement before jury selection has even been completed in the murder trial of former police officer Derek Chauvin makes it appear even less likely that an impartial verdict can be reached in Minneapolis. That was already in doubt, with the city bracing for riots and jurors fearing death threats if they voted to acquit, no matter what the evidence might show. If ever a case screamed “Change of venue,” this is it, but will the same politicization that makes a change of venue imperative for justice also make it impossible to get officials to agree to it?

Shocking NYT Move

As I pointed out yesterday, President Biden’s first primetime address was filled with blatant lies that anyone with a memory longer than a fruit fly would have immediately noticed. At least, I called them blatant lies, for that is what they were. The New York Times would have called them outrageous lies if Trump had said them, but with Biden, the Times just called them “exaggerated” or “misleading” statements.

Still, give the Times credit: I’m astounded that they actually fact-checked Biden. And it must’ve killed them to give Trump any credit for developing the vaccine that Biden is taking bows for. I don’t want to quash this miraculous development by criticizing how gingerly they did it. As Abraham Lincoln reportedly said, when you see a dog walking on two legs, you don’t criticize its posture, you just marvel that the thing was accomplished at all.

    Dear Governor Huckabee, I was wondering if I was the only one who noticed a little omission from President Biden's dark, pessimistic and fact challenged speech to the nation. When he finally finished his coma inducing ramble he walked away from the podium without his mask. How could he leave his Covid security face blanket behind after berating all of us to wear masks till apparently sometime in the 23rd century? Did someone forget to write that instruction on his teleprompter or was it just the fact that Kamala or Jill weren't standing by to remind him; again?

    It is sad to see how many, especially so-called Christians are willing to accep a Communist takeover of this nation once blessed by God.
    I think God is letting us reap the consequences of our sinful ways. Most church leaders have already surrendered. A great falling away is occurring. I live across the river from Portland, Oregon. Never a beautiful but is now a 3rd world ghetto. Cancel culture rules. No church out here teaches a Biblical world view.
    I now tell friends in other nations not to visit ant blue states.
    By the end of the year we will be in a great depression according to the best coonservative economists now that Money Monetization theory is being used! Just like the behavior that destroyed the Weimar Republic and allowed the rise of Adolf Hitler.
    Now the criminals have taken over the 3 branches of the federal government. Attemptin to make criminals of ateat 100 million citizens who own guns and tearing the military apart by criminalizing all who are white.

    I will say it out loud, "How could Biden have won in Georgia!!!" In fact How could Biden have won in America? My husband likes to argue that there was voter fraud, of course, but not enough to turn the election. I maintain that's not true. I'm firmly convinced that voter fraud was clearly calculated to change the results of what the voters put out there. They - paid subversives - watched the numbers, then were prepared to change the results in favor of Biden. I know this and if we don't do something, they'll do even worse next time, changing election results in every state and local election.

    I must take exception to the use of the title "Reverend" when referring to Mr. Graham and Mr. Owens. In scripture that term is only used in reference to God (Ps. 111:9 KJV). It is presumptious and wrong to ever assign a title to any man that puts them on equal footing with God. To assign such titles to men serves no good purpose except to elevate one man over another. In Christian circles, God has never authorized distinctions like this among Christians. Therefore, it is terribly wrong!!

    Rocky Mountain National Park - right now, under FEET of SNOW ... roads closed through the park.
    Come back in July or August - - bring a mask, just in case ... all that outside fresh air ...

    2nd comment of the day because you got me on a roll. Regarding the $27 million settlement to G Floyd"s family. How did they settle on a trivial $27 million? Why not $50, 75 or 100million? As long as we are going ridiculous, why not shoot for a little more ridiculous. I'm sure MN taxpayers wouldn't mind. jack

    Mike I don't want to sound callous but the business going on in Minneapolis with this police trial is entirely their own making They could have dealt with this police officers brutality against whites and blacks. But they didn't and now it's costing them financially and socially I'm sorry, but that's their problem. But this brings back What I have always said we need to get involved in our local governments and our state governments and tell DC to go to hell. I'm afraid they are becoming Moscow on the Potomac And we don't need that . Republicans need to get back to being the populist party of the people and of the law.

    Mike, why is it that when the Speaker of the House in a position of 3rd in line to the presidency commits treason, which she is doing, can not be tried for that crime. You are right that she attempted a coup and for that there are no consequences? What is going on in this country.? She is the domestic version of that oath she took to protect this country from threats foreign or domestic. If she is not an existential threat, I am a monkey's uncle. I am 81 yrs old and a veteran and I wonder now what our young military personnel are fighting to protect when our elected officials can commit treason and sedition with no consequence! What is happening to this country stinks to high heaven. jack

    I believe that the speaker of the house pelosi's whole reason for that phone call was not undermining President Ttump, he was on his way out. But to undermine President Biden, she wants a Calif. President at any cost.

    There has been an increase in the number of children in the Court system due to abuse and neglect. This is likely to increase even more when the kids get back in school under the watchful eyes of teachers who are mandated reporters.

    By being so politically correct, we have managed to set race relations back forty years. The vast majority of white people in the country are not racist, period. I don’t care how people distort it. Some people are racists and that usually extend to anyone different. Non white people can be racist, also. It’s just not true of most. Most white men are decent human beings. Let’s really crack down on those who harass women, particularly in the workplace. Particularly among politicians this behavior has been tolerated far too long. Making new laws all the time are not necessary in most cases. We need to enforce the ones we have. We seem to be concentrating all efforts on sets of few people, such as the LGBTQ community, small numbers of rogue of cops and small numbers of racists. The Dems love to look like they are doing something by making laws and the they don’t enforce them. FYI people, Communist and socialist countries do not have equity. They don’t even have equal opportunity. The governments are corrupt to the core. What makes you thin the US can do it any better?

    News Alert: I am beginning to believe God wants us to see the face of Satan, so he gave us Nancy Pelosi.

    Joe Biden and school closures: The Marxist-Democrats do not want schools open. The students may learn something about how they are destroying the country. Marxism depends on uneducated subjects.

    $27 Million: I lived in St. Paul years ago. Being Southern, it was a real culture shock. I always said Minnesota was the U.S.s concession to Communism. As we can see, Communism (Marxism) degenerates into anarchy. Why would anyone in their right mind payoff the family of a criminal killed in the process of committing another crime?

    Shocking NYT Move: Yeah, the Marxist-Democrats are going to claim all of the good things Trump did. The problem is few people will recognize this. Yes, I am surprised the NYT noticed the exaggerations of Ole Black Joe. My wife had dementia, so I am accustomed to dealing with it.

    I think President Biden's manipulation of statistics was exactly what you'd expect from a lifetime politician. His relishing in the success of a COVID vaccine was laughable, as he inherited a working vaccine that was already being distributed. His theme seemed to be honesty and truth, yet we never hear anything regarding his family's business dealings with a Ukrainian company. If this had been a Trump, there would be six investigations and impeachment proceedings would have already began.

    Why cant local areas tap Idle Unused closed schools for Local needs nationwide: Urban & suburbs
    If teachers WONT teach, shut down schools
