On Tuesday, White House counsel Pat Cipollone sent the letter Trump had promised to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and congressional Democratic committee chairs Adam Schiff (Intelligence), Eliot Engel (Foreign Affairs) and Elijah Cummings (Oversight) informing them that the administration will not cooperate with the illegitimate and constitutionally invalid “impeachment inquiry” going on right now. There will be no compliance, the letter said, unless the House makes it official by holding a full floor vote to approve such an inquiry and unless basic principles of due process and separation of powers are followed. The letter states that “this is “an unauthorized impeachment inquiry that conflicts with all historical precedent...”

“Consistent with the duties of the President of the United States, and in particular his obligation to preserve the rights of future occupants of his office, President Trump cannot permit his Administration to participate in this partisan inquiry under these circumstances.” The White House will be providing no witnesses, no documents, no kidding.

The letter reads in part: “The invalid ‘impeachment inquiry’ plainly seeks to reverse the election of 2016 and to influence the election of 2020.” It calls the impeachment effort “a naked political strategy that began the day he [Trump] was inaugurated, and perhaps even before.”

“Perhaps”?? Here Cipollone is a master of understatement. But his letter is magnificent; you’ll want to read the entire thing, all eight pages...

https://politicaldig.com/read-the-white-house-letter-to-pelosi-rejecting-cooperation-in-impeachment-inquiry/

Note in particular the quotes from none other than Jerrold Nadler (on pages 5-6, also footnote 5 on page 3), who has certainly changed his tune since Trump was elected. Likewise, the House Intelligence Committee as led by Adam Schiff seems to be making up its own rules, breaking with precedent set by history’s other cases of impeachment. Both sides are supposed to have the ability to gather and present evidence, and that’s not happening here. Unbelievably, Trump’s side doesn’t get to put evidence into the record or to call or cross examine witnesses. The so-called “whistleblowers” are being used anonymously and might testify in secret. Democrats conduct hearings behind closed doors so they can cherry-pick what they want to leak.

They also demand communications between Trump and his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, as if attorney-client privilege did not exist.

Ranking House Intelligence Committee member Devin Nunes said it best: “...As someone who has been in all these meetings, I think it was described today as a ‘kangaroo court,’ and that’s probably being nice.”

‘Kangaroo court’ sums it up perfectly. In fact, I have a new name for Adam Schiff: let’s call him ‘Captain Kangaroo.’ I’m pretty confident Democrats will “’roo” the day he convened it.

But for now, they’re thinking they have no choice but to move full-speed-ahead on impeachment or something, as the expression goes, “close enough for government work,” because they’re scared to death of what U.S. Attorney John Durham’s investigation into the origins of the “Trump/Russia” counterintelligence investigation is going to turn up. That’s even more so as of Tuesday, when we learned that Durham’s investigation has been “expanded” in scope.

As reported by FOX News, “Mr. Durham has expanded his investigation and is adding agents and resources, according to multiple senior administration officials.” Whereas it was originally set up to investigate from the beginning of the probe through Election Day, it has now been extended, based on Durham’s findings up to this point, from spring of 2016 through spring of 2017, the time when Robert Mueller was named special counsel by deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein (and that appointment is also undergoing greater scrutiny). That time period would include the January 5 Obama White House meeting with intelligence officials about “Trump/Russia,” Comey’s post-election briefing of the President-elect at Trump Tower on one of the most salacious aspects of the Steele “dossier,” the leaking of that story to The New York Times and the decision to name a special counsel.

Of course, Durham’s investigation has also gone international, with information-gathering that took both Durham and Attorney General William Barr to the U.K. and Italy and put them in contact with Australian authorities. It’s outside the U.S. that our own spies could most easily circumvent laws to spy on Americans. Former CIA Director John Brennan has said he doesn’t understand the “predicate” for this investigation into actions taken by our own intel community, but he is lying. He knows good and well what it is; we can start with the warrant that was fraudulently obtained by the FBI –- and renewed three times –- to spy on associates of Trump’s campaign.

Investigative reporter Catherine Herridge says that, based on her two decades of experience covering intelligence and law enforcement, the expansion of Durham’s probe indicates to her that he has likely found evidence of criminal wrongdoing. “By reputation,” she says, “Durham is not a prosecutor to ask for more help if there is simply no ‘there’ there.”

Her FOX News colleagues Bret Baier and Jake Gibson also reported that, contrary to what Mueller has said, he WAS vying (unsuccessfully) for the FBI director position –- left open by Trump’s firing of Comey just a week earlier –- when he met with Trump in 2017. It’s as we thought: Mueller was appointed to investigate the man who had passed him over for that position. Normally that would not be happening; it’s just too big a conflict of interest. He interviewed for the job of Trump’s FBI director after he had already confirmed with Rod Rosenstein that if he didn’t get the job, he would be appointed special counsel to investigate Trump (!).

Regardless of the mess the House is in, the Senate is in a position to do some cleaning up. Thankfully, Lindsay Graham, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has invited Giuliani to testify before Congress about his work on behalf of his client, investigating Ukraine’s role in our 2016 election. (Note: regarding Ukraine, investigative reporter John Solomon has brand new developments on the investigation into Burisma Holdings, the company that put Hunter Biden on its board of directors and paid his firm perhaps as much as $220,000 a month; we’ll take this up in detail tomorrow.)

Keep in mind, one reason for all the screaming coming from the left in Washington –- and this phony “impeachment” –- is that Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report on FISA abuse is reportedly coming out within the next two weeks. We complain about the delay, but the reason it has taken so long is no doubt that new information just kept turning up. In the meantime, it’s good to know that Trump and his attorneys are pushing back –- hard.

I am thrilled that President Trump and his personal attorney are pushing back "hard". Too bad the majority of the Republicans can't and won't do the same. I truly believe that President Trump has accomplished more in the best interest of our nation, that most previous presidents, particularly Obama who only wanted to destroy our nation and sell us out ! I hope that the AG reports and investigations come out soon and that in the end true justice and accountability is fulfilled with many going to prison.
I can't stand the Democrats, but I am not too thrilled about the Republicans and have lost hope that they can get a spine and start backing the President, instead of being cowards and allowing the Democrats to push their agenda, and say nothing !!! (there are only a few Republicans taking a stand, the rest are way past disappointing and that lack of loyalty to the President and the 63+ million Americans who voted and supported the President, is more than obvious, its shameful !!

We must continue to fight back. Attack Adam Schiff to release his office documents on the whistleblower
    Same with any other committee
    Especially text and emails

While we are at it, we want to see records of payments made to staff members because of inappropriate behavior by congress members
This will rock the boat of congress

Perhaps we need a maturity test as part of the eligibility requirements for anyone running for elected office. It is obvious that today's democrats have never grown out of their sheltered, spoiled brat persona.
This is embarrassing to the Nation as a whole.

While it's a bit of wit to refer to the Representative Schiff as "Capt. Kangaroo", and while the late Capt. Kangaroo was a imperfect as all people on & off tv/stage etc., the good captain on tv promoted peaceable mannerly conduct in children in a kindly manner. The late Captain Kangaroo doesn't deserve to be compared to that Person currently embarrassing his constituants, among others, by carrying on in the U. S. Congress.

What a mess our country is in because of nothing more than TDS. I pray daily for our President and VP. Divine intervention is about the only thing I see that can stop them from destroying our country as we know it.

Let's NOT call him Captain Kangaroo, and bring dishonor to that name. He was a good, honest man who does not deserve to have his legacy linked to this Boeotian and his collection of a**holes.

    Very informative article. Thank you.
The Radical Democrats in the Congress will never put this down, and I am so very disappointed in the majority Republicans in office, that it is difficult to listen to most of them turn tail and run. Why in the world are they not supporting and defending this administration. Yes, I believe these Radical Democrats will no stop at President Trump, his Vice President is also undoubtedly marked by these Radical Democrats ( like Radical Islamic's) , They need Nancy Pelosi as president to continue their hunt to turn the United States of America into a Socialist Dictatorship run by Leftist Radical Democrats, And our US Constitution burned along with the US Flag. So horribly sad and completely maddening.
Our only hope is for President Trump to continue fighting, and the ALL Republicans, Moderate and Conservative, to stand strong together behind him.
    God bless the USA !

Mike, I believe the person behind all of this is none other than George Soros. Shortly after Trump was elected five Catholic lay leaders sent a letter to him asking for an investigation into Soros, Clinton, Podesta, and Obama conspiring to overthrow the conservative Pope Benedict XVI and replace him with a radical Pope Francis. Pope Bendict XVI resigned after suspect events that involve the US government. This is the first papal abdication in 700 years. This information was exposed in the WikiLeaks emails.
It was revealed in a 2011 email in which Soros, Clinton, Podesta with Obama's knowingly discussed a "Catholic Spring" revolution within the church to end the "middle ages dictatorship" of the Roman Catholic Church that still existed in the US.
Soros' organization was highlighted in the "Whistleblower" report referencing the OCCRP Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project. Soros' has been funding people to protest with violence at various events across the country from the shooting of Brown to Trump's campaigns, to anywhere Republicans campaign.
This over bloated billionaire who has been known to cause chaos in enconomies countries like Hungry. He has gotten away with insider trading for many years. Never been charged with any crimes but people like Martha Stewart have been thrown into prison for a lot lesser crimes. No one seems to want to take on this clown of evil. Yet he always seems to be behind this sort of thing. He needs to be investigated.
    Thanks,
    Donba

Thank you Governor for your clear, concise and "to the point" summaries of all that concerns those interested in a sense of "fairplay". The sheer "hatred" of DT by those on the left is a sad commentary on the world in which we live today. I fear the radical Socialist Democrats fully intend for impeachment to be their rallying cry from now until the 2020 election. Absolutely no thought of passing (or proposing) any legislation that speaks to the needs of the American public or their constituents. Ephesians 4:31-32 . If only .........

I wish that Trump would do more for American healthcare. The many folks that I know that are voting for Democrats are doing so because they don't have insurance and they want to keep Obamacare. That was the big reason given for the Democrats winning the house. Wish the Republicans would do something to address healthcare in this country

What bothers me abt al this, besides the wasted time & gobs of tax payer money dems have stolen out of our meager pockets because they have to make waves to cover their evil scams, is these many many many crooked people/politicians will probably walk away w/a slap on the hand & a bit of uncovering & humiliation that only conservative internet sites will cover & maybe a bit on the "new" lying dem friendly false news Fox news. WHY were people like Papadopolous, Flynn, Manafort, Stone, & Page so easily indicted for supposed lying under the guise of going after their families & ruining them financially & their reputations but the real lawless crooks will walk away & still probably serve, get movie & book deals & live their golden yrs too comfortably!!? This is most definitely a spiritual battle just as God said it would be in end days. Lawlessness would rule, Christians wld be hated, brother against brother, chaos wld insue, nothing wld make sense, & in wld be out & dark wld be light, etc. YIKES!!

The liberal press&medias' failures to equally and justly inform the people are absolute disqualification of them from being the "free press" and the "free" anything when they are obvious sub rosa members of the Democratic Party's Impeachment Team. Without any ethics or principles of truth, unity, Nature and Nature's God of the Founders, so-called "free press journalism" is dead and President Trump should shut them down and prohibit their functioning.

Everything about the Democrats is corrupt! Thank God for putting a strong, brash person like Donald Trump into office to fight back. More Republicans need to support him and go on the offense.
