Joe Biden's presidential victory is certified

By Mike Huckabee

Early this morning, Congress certified the Electoral College vote for Joe Biden for President. Afterward, President Trump issued a statement promising an orderly transition of power on January 20th, signaling to his supporters that his challenge to the vote is over.

Some Republicans still challenged the electoral vote certification, such as Rep. Matt Gaetz

But others who had planned to join the challenge, including Sens. Marsha Blackburn and Kelly Loeffler, changed their minds after the day’s tragic violence inside the Capitol building by a small group of “Trump supporters” (there are unconfirmed reports that some might have been false-flag Antifa agitators, but others were reportedly identified as part of far-right fringe movements that did not reflect the views of thousands of peaceful Trump supporters outside.) Nevertheless, after a year of telling us not to condemn all peaceful protesters because of the violent actions of a few, that’s precisely what Democrats and the media are doing.

Some on the right are comparing the people who broke into the Capitol to American Revolutionaries. But the Founders were not a mindless mob who committed violence with no longterm plan. They resorted to revolution only after exhausting every other alternative. They issued a statement of their rights and grievances and pledged their lives, fortunes and sacred honor to defend it. They didn’t harm their own side by mindlessly smashing windows in the British Parliament. A later revolutionary protester, the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., spoke his piece from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial; he didn’t vandalize it.

Let me be clear: I absolutely and unequivocally condemn the actions of the mob who smashed their way into the Capitol, just as I also call for an investigation of Capitol police who shot and killed Ashli Babbitt, a female Air Force veteran of 14 years.

Here’s more background on Babbitt and the shooting.

In Twitter comments, some people expressed sadness and dismay, but others coldly dismissed her as a traitor and a terrorist and good riddance (I’m sure the same people who are outraged over police brutality against leftist protesters.) It’s true that no one should have breached the barricades Antifa-style, shattered a window, entered the building and confronted security officers. It was a terrible thing. But why were they met with gunfire? I remember Democrats reacting with outrage at a Trump suggestion that looters be shot. In a tragic update, the DC Police have said that four people are now dead, although they didn’t release the causes, which are reportedly medical.

I am gratified to see that, at long last, Democrats are finally condemning mob violence. Only a few months ago, Washington, DC, and many other cities were ablaze; there were riots, arson, looting and assaults on federal buildings and monuments; and their response was to defend the mob and prosecute anyone who stood up to them. Nancy Pelosi infamously said she didn’t care about some old buildings. It’s suddenly a very different matter when one of those “old buildings” is the one with her office in it.

I’ll stress that pointing out the other side’s hypocrisy and Johnny-come-lately outrage is not an excuse. There is no excuse for breaking-and-entering and disrupting the constitutionally-mandated joint session of the House and Senate that was to certify (or not) the state electors. This was perhaps the ONE CHANCE before January 20 that Republicans would have to present their evidence of election fraud, unconstitutionality and error that might have shown Trump to be the actual winner in certain contested states. It’s something that needed to happen, calmly, openly, rationally. More investigation will be needed to determine why these people felt oddly compelled to disrupt this process and undermine the cause of thousands of peaceful Trump supporters outside.

And about Trump supporters: again, NOT AN EXCUSE, but let's look at how many of us feel right now. We’ve been treated like second-class citizens going on five years. In some professions, we can’t even hint at our political leanings. The blacklist against conservatives is as pervasive and powerful as the one used against leftists in the McCarthy era. The Ivy League elite have consistently condescended to us. On college campuses, conservatives risk being “canceled,” even dropped from academic programs because of some "problematic" tweet. The media try to gaslight us at every turn, repeatedly and with no evidence telling us that our President cares only for himself and is a traitor, an agent of Russia. We're tired of being told that 2+2=5. All the while, they bury stories about Hillary, the Bidens, and the partisan federal bureaucracy out to get Trump and anyone on his side.

It’s gotten worse since the election. The deep concerns of millions have been dismissed. Even in the face of wild statistical anomalies and numerous unexplained election-night oddities, questioning the results in any way is forbidden. “Why, this election was PERFECT!” we’re told. “It was the most secure election we have ever had in our history!” Good grief, we don’t have to be crazy conspiracy theorists to recognize these grandiose remarks as overstatements at the very least. Shakespeare might say that election officials “doth protest too much.”

We’ve seen blatant misreporting in the mainstream media, who prefer the false narrative that “courts have dismissed every one of the Trump lawsuits because, as we all know, there is no evidence.” In truth, the courts find other reasons, such as the inexplicable “lack of standing,” to keep from HAVING to look at any evidence. When the Supreme Court, the highest court in the land, does this, what is the recourse?

About 70 million Americans suspect that the results of this election are not to be trusted. But these people have been shut down, silenced, and banned from social media or flagged as “misinformation” or “disputed” for daring even to question it. Even the President himself has been treated this way. If we have to sweep this under the rug, as Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) insist we do, we will never trust another election again.

So when media pundits say that challenging these election results is “interfering with democracy,” I say they’re off by 180 degrees. Under current conditions, challenging the election results is SAVING democracy. Stand back, let the Constitution do its work, and let the chips fall where they may.

The violence on Wednesday wasn't just completely unacceptable, it was downright stupid. It was stupid because the worst consequence --- not counting, of course, the loss of four lives --- is that the visuals of the Capitol being stormed will be exploited forever, used as justification to go full pedal-to-the-metal in quashing the rights of conservatives. Take away their civil liberties, leftists will cry; those people shouldn’t have any say! Why, those right-wing racists/sexists/homophobes/traitors don’t deserve a voice, a place in society, or even a way to make a living. Shun them! Cancel them! (And forget all the video of leftists smashing and burning cities from coast-to-coast.)

All of that was coming anyway, incrementally, if they gained power, but this event by a relatively small number of people hastens it.

For all those who are upset at the way the election was handled, and worried about the future of America under Democrat rule, join the club. But we’ve known for two months that any challenges to the November election were the longest of longshots. I defended Trump’s right to make those challenges legally and constitutionally, but it was never likely that Congress would reject electors that the states had certified.

Probably the best that we could hope for was that the challenges might result in what Ted Cruz called for (basically, what I called for just days after the election): an open, bipartisan investigation of alleged voting irregularities, so that if there was anything illegal it would come to light, and if not, Americans could be assured that the vote was trustworthy and Biden wouldn’t govern under a cloud of suspicion.

Now, thanks to the unforgivable actions of hotheads, even that hope has been dashed. Democrats may think they’ve pulled out a hat trick here: they’ve escaped an audit of the vote, Biden’s victory is certified, and Trump and all his supporters are permanently tarnished. But millions of Americans who feel their concerns have been dismissed and their voices silenced will not go away simply because the media try to shame them into it.

Our leaders had one chance to repair the tattered fabric of trust in elections that enables a nation of 320 million people of very different views to accept the results and move on, and they didn’t take it. I hope Joe Biden is sincere in his claim that he wants to be the President of all Americans, but sadly, that job just became far more difficult.

Trump supporters aghast at today's inexcusable violence

By Mike Huckabee

(This commentary was posted late yesterday.)

“I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order --- respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!”

President Trump tweeted this in response to the violence that erupted Wednesday at the Capitol Building, when some “Trump supporters” broke through barricades and stormed the building, breaking windows, getting rough with police in the halls, even entering the House chamber. As this is being written, news has just broken that one of the people who got shot in the melee has died.

Trump is right: we ARE the party of law and order, but I think most of us will agree that he needs to be a lot tougher in his condemnation of this. The same can be said of the video statement he released. Of course, virtually every news outlet who posted his tepid “go home” video had to editorialize, saying that Trump “repeated false claims” of election fraud. Facebook took it down.

So did YouTube.

Trump also tweeted this on Wednesday: “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”

Well, yes, Mr. President, but in the USA, at least those of us on the right, also demand that the Constitution be meticulously followed. Vice President Pence obviously was doing what he thought was right concerning his role in this. We may disagree with him –- numerous constitutional experts do, and Alan Dershowitz isn’t sure –- and you obviously disagree with him, but please, right now, stay out of that process and stop pressuring him.

Trump told his supporters to go home, but no reaction to this violence is complete without a total, vociferous condemnation. We all condemned the truly awful violence coming from the Democrat side this summer when their party and the media (but I repeat myself) failed to do it. In this case, it’s just as wrong, no matter who is behind it.

We are aghast at this.

We really are better than that...

By Mike Huckabee

Mark Steyn, speaking on Wednesday’s TUCKER CARLSON show, had a sharp observation: “It’s always interesting to me that people are surprised when a tactic that’s proved effective for one group of people is then suddenly taken up by other people of whom they don’t approve.”

"There’s been a complete collapse of equality before the law,” Steyn explained. “The more [people on the left] are not subject to any laws, the more onerous the burden that falls upon the law-abiding.” Those on the left can do anything, he said, while those law-abiding souls on the right are “micro-regulated.” (To quote Victor Davis Hanson, “Ideology trumps accountability.”)

"At some point, that has to give,” he said. “And whoever is behind this, to a certain degree, that ‘gave’ today in Washington.”

If that’s what we’re seeing, we conservatives will have to be careful not to become the thing we hate, as so often happens to people. (It’s certainly happened to the left, who used to be pro-free speech.) It may sound cliché to say it at this point, but we really are better than that.

Personally for me, it is a sad day in our country. I do not understand how Biden can be President when there is so much evidence of voter fraud that really did not get a hearing. What about all those papers in the binders of people who testified of the voter fraud that was proven? I do not believe Biden will be a legit President because of the so many answered questions about voter fraud. It was not a fair election and I do not want to think about what this country will go through with the Democrats and their Socialistic policies. I feel very sad for our country.

Thank God for all of the people who commented on this post....glad I am not alone in believing the US is done. So disappointed in Pence, totally disgusted with Marsha Blackburn and the rest who changed their vote, 'just because of the people who entered the building'....looking at a video it definitely appears that the police let them in. So disgusted with MSM (as usual) because NOT ONE WORD HAS BEEN SAID ABOUT THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO WERE IN DC....I feel so sorry for President Trump and his family to have to endure this hate and vitriol...even from the 'republican' party - I despise the traitors. Totally disgusted with the Supreme Court, all but 2 are weak-kneed, don't have the guts to do the right thing. We had better not stand back when the democrats start indicting the Trump family on January 21, which is their plan. A number of people changed their party affiliation yesterday, 1/7, we need a new party - America First....let's get rolling and let them know that 75 million people are not going to go home and cower in our homes. Hopefully, President Trump will start a new news media where we aren't inundated with fake, biased news - including Newsmax...not all of us can get OANN because they are on DirectTV not Dish...

    Where are we headed?
With the election of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris there are some outstanding questions:
    1. Who will be the real President in the interim? Is it really Soros?
    2. How long before Dementia Joe resigns or is removed from office and replaced by President Grins and Giggles?
    3. Will Nancy love to be Vice President?
    4. Will they be able to implement their Radical Far-Left agenda?
    5. As we move to one-party rule and begin to look like California, how long will it take before we begin to look like the New Venezuela?

"Now, thanks to the unforgivable actions of hotheads"...? those "hotheads' were there for that reason to distract and prevent the further investitiagion of a completely fraudulent stolen election - we KNOW it - we 've seen the THOUSANDS OF PIECES OF EVIDENCE AND VIDEO TAPE. And are you really going to blame the President who has suffered inhuman unwarranted vitriol and who prbly knows how fake this entire thing was and for what purpose. Even so do you want to criticize someone who has done nothing to create or incite this and is trying his best to keep it together while child-raping and killing Satanists further malign and slander and falsely accuse him over and over and over again, not to mention stealing his presidency from him - would this be the time to criticize our president and find fault with him?

Before I even finish reading I have to comment - "break into the capitol building" what world do u live in mike you who have lived in this world for decades - NO ONE BREAKES INTO THE CAPITOL BUILDING, rotunda - there are layers upon layers of security, metal detectors, they would have been shot instantly, there are now "millions" of photos over internet unequivocally identifying the stormers as antifa participants from previous rallies and crisis actors like Jake Angeli, and that security at capitol let them in - pics of pence speaking w/ dc police before hand - dc police got rid of proud boys which deal with antifa and then they let in antifa for a staged event about "trump supporters". There is a pic of two cameras "at the ready" in front of the protestors who posed - who has cameras ready in the midst of fighting off in the moment a gang of violent insurrection? - COMPLETELY STAGED EVENT THEATER.

While I agree with you that the problems yesterday present a bad view of the protests, I cannot totally agree with you on now saying that we should all just go home and be nice law abiding citizens. You can say that we will have an opportunity 2 years from now to correct the problems, but that might be too late. What laws will be changed to propagate the election irregularities that we have seen? We can't rely on the courts to look into anything. We can't rely on ANYONE in Washington to look into this. Any attempts by the minority to stop the undermining of our freedoms will simply be ignored. What are we to do?

It occurs to me that the founding fathers also tried to peacefully settle the problems with the English king with the same results. They were ignored. At what point is the systematic destruction of the constitution a point too far for the masses to accept? What are the options? At this point it doesn't seem as if there are too many. Nobody wants violence. BUT, I also think that nobody wants serfdom. There will be a time when there are enough people willing to take the law into their own hands to correct the INSANE things that are going on.

Yell at me if I'm wrong, but with the Russia hoax, the impeachment, the Hunter Biden story, the Hilary Clinton story, the FBI, CIA, and all the other corrupt institutions which will all be swept under the rug now, where are the remedies? Tell me that and I will be glad to try them.

Yeah we are better than that. In fact we are so much better and so docile and peaceful that we will sit by and allow our country, our vote and everything many of us have went to war to fight for taken away by theft and all we will do is march around peacefully and hold up our peaceful signs. Nice and peaceful. Exactly why they left knew they could get away with it. In the end there will be no force, only a kind and gentle "please don't steal from us again. If you do I swear to god we will peacefully protest the shit out of you. You have been warned!" Nice and docile as our right to self governance is removed. It must be awesome to be on the left. You can do whatever you want and the other side is too cowardly and docile to fight back. Maybe the piece of paper and ink we are constantly citing will sprout arms and legs, pick up a rifle and fight for us because we wont do it for ourselves. (were better than that.) Thank god people that think like this weren't around during the revolution because there would have been no revolution, only gentle pleas for freedom. A simple risk assessment was made and it was determined that if the state legislators or the supreme court took our side and did what was right and took a win from those who didn't earn it, those on the left would quickly fight back. They would show up at their homes, threaten their life's and burn their cities. If they side with the left and refuse to give back to the right what was stolen from them, all the right would do is bitch about it and peacefully protest a little. It was a simple decision for them. It seems people willing to burn down and destroy everything to take power don't respond to the docile pleas of those they intend to control. Imagine that. Oh well, I guess it was a good 200 year run but its over now. Oh I know, we will just show up in 2022 and 2024 and "fight" from the ballot box again. I'm sure it will work next time.

    FOOD FOR THOUGHT:

Come 20 January 2021 as you traitor Republicans are sitting down for your Champagne
Drinks and cheering the victory of removal of Donald Trump on Joe Biden's Inaugration night look to the east to Iran and watch will happen in the Straits of Hormuz as the Iranians possibility close and mine it trapping the US Naval Fleet and other world oil tankers causing a panic on the on the World oil market due to 20 per cent of the worlds oil comes from
that region will be cut off.

At the same time , the Chinese Army and Navy will possibility invading Taiwan.

North Korea will possibility launch their new ICBMS off an Chinese island in the Spraley Sea hitting our bases all over the Pacific or decide to invade South Korea knowing that with the departure of Trump, they now have no fear of reprisal action them now..

So get ready, when and if that does happens and DO not expect the Trump followers to help you, just call your 84 Million Democrats and RINOS for help, , you are own your own in this crisis.

I see no difference between the thugs in Portland and other city's were they took over several blocks and destroyed private property and what went on in the seat of our government they all neto be found out and charged with treason at least. The ring leaders of both groups should be treated as terriost and put away for ever. Like that idiot setting in pelosy office and getting his picture made a lift time tripe to super max is a!most to good. To storm our seat of government is to much no matter who is in power.

Ot is sad to see what transpired. I am not surprised though. I have a Biblical world view and do real research. Months ago I sensed this was coming.
It is now an open spiritual war that goes back to the Garden of Eden.
The Right and the Church never put a name to the enemy and so never approached this from God's
The left is really Marxist. They took over the Democratic Party in the 1960's
The Church has been betrayed by its own leaders.
I ask myself where are the shepherds preaching truth. Where are the David's, Joshua's and other men of God who can really lead
Too many are now sounding like the Pope's spokes men.
This time has shown how broken the American church is
Yesterday's tragedy was a pure set up. If people were wise it would have been different
My friends overseas now know the USA has fallen and their countries will also
There will be no return to the past.
The Republican Party has been exposed as being as corrupt as the left
Many will no longer vote. The Marxists will put their own people and you have to vote for those people. Like all Communist nations do! They control the Dominion voting machines and control all 3 branches of government now.
We need to roll up our sleeves and really need to do the hard work in all areas. There is a need for real men of God to lead. Like many ministers did in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars.
God has blessed this nation but now showing us how empty it is by revealing the real enemy. Many apostates in charge now.
The self appointed spokesmen appear to be advocating the level of pacifism that allowed Hitler and Stalin and Mao to take to control.
God taught Israel to fight by letting a whole generation die in the wilderness. Will that have to happen again?
We are definitely in the last of the last days as the Jewish prophets foretold.
Only God can save us from ourselves. Many false gods are now accepted even in major church groups.
Only He can open our eyes to the deception that has blinded us.
As the song goes, " Rise Up Oh Men of God"
    It us now that time.

Does anyone else not see the writing on the wall, so to speak. This has the left agenda written all over it. Think about the last 4 years. Then ask yourself, would our President REALLY ask for such upheaval? Its regretful, that some lean into such desperate measures to get their way at the expense of innocents. Violence is not acceptable. The "We the People" are not being heard or justified by the injustice of thieves and liars. This was not the fault of our President. He has worked hard for the American people - think about who and what was going to gain from this atrocity? It certainly did not aid our President. In the end, I believe that justice will be served and all will be accountable - just might not be here on terra firma.

    Dear Mike:
I was there yesterday-I am the 71 year old who drove from California to D.C. especially to see President Trump. I was there the day before as well. Those people -were not Trump's supporters. They were intent on creating chaos and they did-and once again, the idiots on the left can't figure this out. I am sick at heart-but this is not over. Both days-the rallies were positive, upbeat and everyone helped each other-you could talk to people from all over and they were just plain folks-Americans who still can't believe that the Dems are getting away with this. I want a new party. These guys (not all) both sides, are corrupt. I am on my way home and sick to death.

Mitch McConnell's 'Sit down and be quiet Trumpers' speech on the Senate floor was inexcusable. Telling us we need to be respectful to the next administration and show them we are better than what they've done for 4 years. That was the moment, I believe, that the pressure canner could no longer keep the lid on. I totally understand why the younger, passionate, less experienced members of the March erupted yesterday. The Supreme Court owns this one!!! They told Trumpets to go away too. Shameful, ALL of it.

Thank you for your steadfast support of conservative Christians and for your editorial. There are millions of great Patriots and we need to thank them for never letting our country down and for continuing to keep the faith and strive for a better government. President Trump revealed the deep state and the true intent of MSM, big tech, Sorors et al. We have lost our country to them including the military deep state and former leaders who should stay out of our business. It is sad to see decades of power and corporate greed take away what Americans so dearly value and fought for. We are tired of the CCP and the deep state and can only pray for time to heal and find a better way to run this country for future generations. Clearly Dems and Rinos are not fit to be in office. The term public servant is gone and has been replaced with elite oligarchs. It is past time to fix this country.

It sickens me that Fox News' and Fox Business News' Wednesday night coverage of the noble efforts of patriotic Americans to protest the fraudulent results of the 2020 election continuously condemned the violence of the few and, but for an occasional mention, virtually ignored the valiant and legal efforts of the law-abiding majority who sought justice for a grievous wrong perpetrated on them by powerful conspirators. After watching hour after hour of violent video footage and listening to every host and every guest speak almost exclusively of the miscreant marauders and their mindless attack on our capitol, I was at my boiling point. I listened as Mitch McConnell and other Republican leaders addressed the chamber with contempt not just for the violent few but for all who'd gathered to protest the miscarriage of justice on election day, their disdainful, dismissive words cutting deep. I heard of congressmen who, having stood for fairness and justice earlier in the day, had withdrawn their support for the efforts of legislators to right a grievous wrong against people they'd rallied and stood with just hours before. Was the people's cause any less just because a misguided few became violent? People who'd previously spoken of the efforts for justice as noble and righteous now turned and, like rats fleeing a sinking ship, abandoned those who remained; they offered no consolation to those who regrettably were left to face the realization that the ship was, indeed, sinking and their hopes for justice with it. But the most demoralizing blow to all the patriots who've stood by President Trump as we sought to restore fairness and justice to the election process is his concession that the fight is over. I have never felt such despair and I hope never to feel it again, though I fear, with Democrats controlling our executive and legislative branches, despair will become a constant companion to all freedom-loving American patriots.

I wish Ashli Babbitt had not entered the Capitol, but I find no possible excuse for the shot. I saw no weapons among the protesters (not a gun, knife or club). The gunman could have hit anyone or several, but appeared to be aiming directly at Ms Babbitt. I want to see an investigation into the shooting and all security arrangements.
Whatever happened to firing a warning shot into the ceiling if your trigger finger is so itchy. I saw no police presence amassing to keep the protesters contained and disperse them. I would have thought that you exhaust every non lethal measure before escalating. I also thought that lethal measures would be taken only if there was a life-threatening situation.
A tragedy that should have never happened.

Here is the picture I am seeing. Yesterday afternoon, soon after congressmen object to electoral votes and present evidence of fraud, the crowd of Trump supporters outside rush the Capitol building forcing a suspension of the electoral vote review. After order is restored, the review continues during the night and in the morning we are told that Biden is elected. The rush inside the building is not accompanied by attacks on personnel or destruction of property except possibly by a few members of Antifa who were dressed as Trump supporters.
Sydney Powell has posted a resolution by a Democratic Congresswoman condemning this “domestic terrorist attack” to justify the silencing of any Congressman claiming the election was fraudulent. It was dated one day before the assault on the Capitol building. I have seen videos showing that the police broke their cordon in front of the building and allowed the crowd to enter. These are the same police who allowed Antifa to attack Trump supporters after another protest at the Capitol.
So here is what it looks like to me: Democratic operatives deliberately enticed the crowd to enter the Capitol building to 1) change the news story from electoral fraud to violence by Trump supporters 2) to move deliberations to the night time when they would have less attention and 3) to intimidate Congressmen claiming the election was fraudulent.

Mike Pence, by refusing to send electoral votes back to the states who had requested them for recertification, and saying he didn't want to be put in the position of choosing who our next president would be, DID choose our next president. Et tu, Brutus?
