When I featured Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn’s suggestion that Senate Democrat candidates for President recuse themselves from the impeachment trial, I didn’t know how strongly the story would resonate. But the logic is impeccable. It seems only fair, given that Trump faces impeachment over the mere “presumption” (with no evidence) that he was trying to influence the 2020 election for his own personal gain. Blackburn makes a great point point: for anyone running for President, anything that damages the incumbent provides a huge personal benefit. How can they possibly be impartial in an impeachment trial that could conceivably remove the incumbent President from office (and from running for re-election)? Or, if not remove him, at least hurt his chances to remain in office for another term.

Sen. Blackburn appeared Thursday on FOX News’ HANNITY show. “...They took an oath that they’re going to give impartial justice,” she said, “and if you’re spending those millions of dollars and hundreds of hours...how in the world can you do that? And if these guys are out there in Iowa campaigning this weekend, they need to think long and hard about coming back and sitting and saying they are going to be an impartial juror in this trial.”

It wasn't mentioned, but I would add that they might have hard feelings against the accused, considering his trial is taking them off the campaign trail for as long as it goes on.

FEATURED STORY

FISA special

By Mike Huckabee

If you get OAN (One America News) on your cable or satellite TV system, tune in or set your DVRs for 7 pm EST (6 p.m. Central time) tonight.  Journalist John Spiropoulos has done what the mainstream media studiously avoided doing when the IG Horowitz report came out: he’s examined it thoroughly, page by page, connecting all the dots to the events behind the actions in it.  Much of the media simply declared, “Well, that’s it!  There was no political influence at all!  The FBI agents weren’t partisan, Trump and his supporters are just crazy conspiracy theorists!”

In a word: “No.” There was much damning information in that report you might not know at all, unless you read something like…well, this newsletter.  Horowitz himself even had to clarify what he really said and didn’t say.  And in his deep dive, Spiropoulos has found some stunning things that were somehow “overlooked.” I won’t go into more detail; just check out the special tonight on OAN.  It’s called “FISA Spying on Team Trump.”  Here’s a preview:

I wanted to make sure you also read this comment:

Yesterday, I wrote about Rachel Maddow’s interview on MSNBC with Lev Parnas, a character connected to Rudy Giuliani.  The only thing I wrote about was his admission that some of the “evidence” he’d produced that allegedly proved President Trump and Giuliani were pushing Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden was actually just notes of phone messages from a weird associate who was constantly drunk and raving nonsense that Parnas brushed off and ignored.  I mentioned only that because I thought it was the only new and interesting information in the interview, the rest of which (like most of Maddow’s crackpot conspiracy ravings of the past few years) can also be safely brushed off and ignored.

But afterwards (surprise, surprise!), I discovered that much of the media was having one of their daily “bombshell news/this is it for Trump/the walls are closing in” hair-on-fire meltdowns over it. This had “moved the story forward” by having a real insider blow the whistle on Trump; someone who had real documentary evidence of wrongdoing, and who could disprove Trump’s claims of not knowing him by producing a video of him at some event with Trump.

And on the same day, the talking heads had a second hair-on-fire meltdown (some of them will have to buy flame-proof toupees) over the news that the “nonpartisan” GAO (Government Accountability Office) had declared that Trump broke the law by withholding funds allocated to Ukraine.

If anyone thinks it was coincidental that these two stories broke on the same day as that March of the Penguins processional of House liberals bearing Articles of Impeachment to the Senate, and while Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) were pressuring Senate Republicans to allow new “evidence” to make the case they failed to make in the House, then I have some oceanfront property in Little Rock I’d like to sell you.  And I’m not the only one…

My writing/research staffers grumbled that if they had to spend any more time chasing down yet another shady source peddling transparent hearsay about Trump, they would resign and go into the food service industry, but they agreed to tough it out one more time.  So here are a few things you should know before you fall for anything you heard on Rachel Maddow’s show:

First, much of the “"evidence”” Parnas offers is his own handwritten notes on hotel stationery. I put double quotation marks around “”evidence”” because one set didn’t seem to distance it enough from the concept of actual evidence.  This is like saying you have evidence of Bigfoot, and it’s a drawing you made on an Etch-a-Sketch.

As for the video, here it is at the link below.  It shows Parnas standing next to Trump as he talks to several people in a crowd, never once glancing Parnas’ way.  It reminds me of the woman who claimed Trump sexually assaulted her, and the video that surfaced showed him walking through a crowd, greeting everyone in passing and spending about five seconds talking to her.  Parnas doesn’t even get that much attention.

https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2020/01/16/lev-parnas-president-trump-video-tsr-sot-vpx.cnn/video/playlists/this-week-in-politics/

By genuine coincidence, just a few days ago I defended Bill Clinton by pointing out that photos of him with a couple of women associated with Jeffrey Epstein were not evidence of wrongdoing.  Celebrities pose for thousands of photos with strangers. It is entirely plausible that Trump and his family might have posed for a photo at some time with Parnas and still not recognized his name or face.  It would be especially ironic (by which I mean “staggeringly hypocritical”) for Sen. Elizabeth Warren to vote to impeach Trump based in any way on that “”evidence”” when she just bragged about posing for 100,000 selfies with strangers on the campaign trail.

Finally, here are a few quick links that should tell you much of what you need to know about Lev Parnas:

Parnas is currently out on bail on alleged campaign finance crimes. Prosecutors wanted his bail revoked because they claim he lied to try to disguise a $1 million payment from Russia as a loan to his wife.  He’s “cooperating” with the Congressional impeachment effort, which gives him a huge motive to make up accusations against Trump and Giuliani…

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-giuliani-parnas/giuliani-associate-denies-hiding-russian-payment-asks-to-stay-free-on-bail-idUSKBN1YK1ST

Here are two articles pointing out that Parnas is a questionable source with clear motive to lie and whose claims contradict other people’s sworn testimony and known facts (for instance, Maddow conveniently failed to ask about his claim that Rep. Devin Nunes met with a Ukrainian prosecutor in Vienna during a time when Nunes was in Libya on a Congressional trip. I don’t know whether she skipped that tidbit because it undermined Parnas’ credibility or because Nunes is suing CNN for defamation for repeating it as truth.)

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattvespa/2020/01/15/democrats-produce-another-piece-of-trump-impeachment-evidence-and-it-looks-like-a-n2559521

Parnas is already contradicting his own previous tale…

https://therightscoop.com/lev-parnas-now-denies-speaking-with-trump-despite-cnn-reporting-otherwise/

And undermining his own case…

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/01/16/pollak-parnas-undermines-democrats-case-against-trump-on-cnn/

But here’s the real usefulness of all this: Former CIA Director and "alleged" perjurer John Brennan went on MSNBC and claimed that one of the incriminating quotes from Parnas was made by President Trump. He later “corrected” his mistake on Twitter.  I would ask how many more people saw the fake news on MSNBC than will ever see a Twitter tweet correcting it, but with MSNBC’s ratings, that’s a toss-up.  But just wait and see if we don’t start hearing it repeated that Trump actually said that, just like he said that all Mexicans are rapists and there are “very fine people” among neo-Nazis.

RE: Your comment on Fox New regarding anti-semitism:
    While I am in general a supporter of you;
As a Christian and Conservative I'm perplexed by the never ending stories on anti-semitism. Christians are being slaughtered every week around the world for their faith, and nary a word from our "Christian" politicians, or even most churches.

The Israeli Government and groups like Irgun have been terrorizing and driving the Palestinians into the sea for over 70 years. Throwing children into prisons, bulldozing their homes and delivering phosphorus bombs into their cities and UN sanctioned schools via the F-15's we supply.

AIPAC has more control over our Government than do the American people.

"Praying for the Jewish people" means praying for their salvation. C.I. Scofield's "Kingdom Postponed" Dispensationalism is a lie of the devil.

    Kindest regards. . . ..

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."

Being a 'Christian,' I am flummoxed at how to exercise that "fruit" with those soulless, moral-less, sedition working, anti-American types that permeate our once-great 'Republic?' The 'claim' made by all that "Americans are not stupid" is only slightly true. One unequivocal fact is that our esteemed (not) 'American Electorate' is beyond 'STUPID!' Ole Forrest says, "Stupid is as stupid does," and America's electorate has 'acted' stupidly for far too many decades!

Does Pelosi's circus act with the gold pens on a silver platter not bring to mind Mark 6:21-29, the story of Salome presenting the head of John the Baptist to King Herod on a silver platter?

These people need some talking to by Judge Judy. As she says over and over "if you tell the truth the first time, you don't have to remember what lies you told." BTW--that's something my Momma often said over the 67 years I knew her! Surely these bozos would not make it to any witness list--when their lies are already out there to be seen. and when it looks like more people with 2nd or 3rd hand "information."

I finally saw a clip of the--as you called it--March of the Penguins where I could see nadler and shiff behind the Carrier of the Articles and some guy. Still did not see pelosi--I'm sure she would not forego being in the march, I'm surprised she wasn't dancing ahead of the band or even demanding to be the one to carry her "masterpiece!"

I'm guessing "super-reporter" acosta didn't learn anything. Ask the question, LISTEN to the answer. Just because you don't LIKE the answer does not mean you can keep asking the same question over and over and over. smh. I'm not as polite as the President. My inclination would be to say, "I've answered your question, now SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP!!! It's somebody else's turn." I sometimes see clips of msm interviews--only about 3 seconds worth--with the interviewer with a concerned, furrowed brow look as they ask questions they know are based on lies. But, don't let FACTS get in the way of "reporting."
