Unsurprising Story

September 22, 2020 |

In a shocking but somehow unsurprising story, a professor at Marshall University in West Virginia is on suspension pending an investigation after allegedly telling students during an online class that she hoped all of Trump’s supporters would get the coronavirus and die before the election. I thought universities were supposed to create “safe spaces” for students. How safe would a Trump-supporting student feel in her class?

I say it’s unsurprising because this is the kind of nasty, dehumanizing, violent, radical left rhetoric that’s become all too common among university faculty who fancy themselves smarter and better than the rest of us. At least this one is still clinging to enough shards of self-awareness to say she’s sorry she’s “become the type of person” who wishes death on people who disagree with her politically.

That prompted this interesting blog post on how apparently intelligent and well-educated people who live in a bubble where only one view is ever expressed can let a steady diet of political hatred turn them into soulless tyrants with no regard for human life.

What is missing from these people’s lives that has left such a huge hole in their souls that they would prioritize ideology over human life? I think I know what it is, but she works in a university so I assume I wouldn’t be allowed to give her a Bible.

My grandmother, my Mother, myself, my daughters, and granddaughter all attended Marshall University- my husband and most of my relatives that attended college went there. Needless to say, all financial support will be stopped! We are all very disappointed in the behaviors of professors that is being allowed there. It is really heartbreaking and disappointing. Obviously, most of my family is from Southern West Virginia. We only have 2 people who went to the school up north,WVU. I was one of them.I had to go there to get my graduate degree. So sad about this. Obviously, I am older and expect better behavior from the professors!!!

I am shocked to see such terrible things coming from places like our Universities!!! We trust the people there to teach our children, and now things like this leave me shaken. I live within an hour of Marshall and two of my children attended college there. One received her Masters degree from that school. I now have a grand daughter who is in her second year at Marshall. That being said one must realize that I know many students at Marshall University. What exactly are you supposed to do when you hear something like this. I just pray that this sick individual is fired and not allowed to teach our children. If she does not like Trump that is fine, but she has absolutely no right forcing her opinions on the students.
