In my recent commentary involving Victoria Toensing’s observation that her client, Uranium One whistleblower Doug Campbell, hadn’t yet been interviewed by either U.S. Attorney John Huber or special counsel Robert Mueller, I promised to come back with more details on the Uranium One scandal. Toensing is right: it’s simply not possible to investigate collusion with Russia (Mueller) or Clinton financial impropriety (Huber) without questioning Campbell. It could be said he was at the intersection of both.

First, let’s set the scene. In case you didn’t know who was in charge when the FBI started looking into the Russian uranium deal, it happens to have been (drum roll, please) then-FBI Director Robert Mueller. A new FBI Director took over later, in 2013, coming back into government after working at a private investment company, but the FBI was even at that time accumulating damaging evidence of Russian bribery. His name was James Comey. The U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland was supervising the bribery prosecutions. His name was Rod Rosenstein. The Chief of the Fraud Section in the Criminal Division at the Justice Department signed the plea agreement along with Rosenstein. His name was Andrew Weissmann.

Mueller, Comey, Rosenstein, Weissmann –- do these names sound familiar to you? These officials, all of whom were deeply knowledgeable about Uranium One and the prosecutions in the Russian uranium scandal, had to know all about Hillary’s role in the scheme, but they kept the whole thing very quiet. They failed to advise Congress or key officials in the executive branch –- or us, the American public –- of the incriminating facts they had unearthed. FOX News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett, in his new #1 bestselling book “THE RUSSIA HOAX: The Illicit Scheme to Clear Hillary Clinton and Frame Donald Trump,” offers a superlative summation:

“It would seem that these...government officials saw no danger in Clinton’s allowing Russia to control more of the world’s nuclear power supply, yet they later became people most alarmed by allegations that the Trump campaign conspired with the Russians to influence the 2016 presidential election. Mueller, Comey, Rosenstein and Weissman ignored potential crimes involving Clinton and Russia, but were more than eager to conjure some evidence that Trump “colluded” with Russia.”

Now let’s examine Hillary’s time in the Senate and State Department...

About all of this "free" health care talk

By Mike Huckabee

I saw a poll recently claiming that Republicans are doomed in November because Obamacare is now actually more popular than the GOP tax cut. Which seems odd to me, since unlike Obamacare, the tax cut put money IN people’s pockets. Also, it actually worked. Obamacare’s costs and mandates kept businesses from hiring for years, while the tax cut supercharged the economy and has given us record-low unemployment in only one year. So only one of two things could explain this poll: either the media has the ability to bamboozle voters into not believing what they experienced for themselves, or else it’s another garbage poll.

Democrats Want the Government to Take Over your Healthcare

By Mike Huckabee

The nightmare of government-controlled healthcare will be closer to reality for the American people if the Democrats win in November.

Imagine having to wait endless hours to see someone at an emergency room at a dirty, understaffed hospital that is as much a risk to your health as the problem that brought you there. Imagine waiting weeks, if not months, for an appointment with a specialist. Imagine not being able to get the drugs or treatment you need because the bureaucrats — not doctors — who decide your medical fate have decreed that they are too expensive.

This is the horrific reality of government-controlled healthcare.

Bernie Sanders’ “Medicare for all” is becoming more popular with the Democrat Party, despite the fact that government-run healthcare is a proven deadly disaster. The horrors of the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) and the failures of Obamacare — not to mention countless health service horror stories from countries like the United Kingdom and Canada — are a testament to this grim fact.

Adapting to tantrums

By Mike Huckabee

Like the overgrown spoiled children who “weren’t raised right” that they are, a lot of protesters are trying to disrupt Congress these days by yelling, crying and acting out. It’s been interesting to see how quickly the Republican Congress members have adapted to these tantrums.

For instance, a Senator will ask Judge Brett Kavanaugh a serious question about Constitutional issues, and Kavanaugh will get about two sentences into a thoughtful answer, and then a lot of idiotic yelling will break out.  Instead of letting it detail their conversation, the adults simply stop talking for a moment while security drags the nuisance from the room and off to the big playpen with iron bars for a well-deserved “time-out.” Watching the hearings now reminds me of watching two parents who’ve learned to patiently time their conversations so that their words fall into the brief pauses between the screams of their terrible two-year-old’s tantrums.

That’s almost amusing, but this was downright hilarious.  Before going into politics, Missouri Republican Rep. Billy Long had a real job as an award-winning auctioneer.  When a protester started yelling during the hearings into social media bias (this was a rightwing protester, sadly adopting the left’s childish tactics), Long responded by drowning her out with his triple-time auctioneer’s spiel.  Talk about fighting fire with fire…or in this case, gibberish with gibberish! That protester should have known that nobody wins a battle of baffling blather with a man who spent 30 years as an auctioneer and the last seven years in Congress.

Google search?

By Mike Huckabee

During Wednesday’s Senate Intelligence Committee probe into alleged bias against conservatives by Silicon Valley Internet giants, top officers of such companies as Facebook, Twitter and Yahoo showed up to be questioned. But Google’s leaders were conspicuous by their absence, which Senate Republicans emphasized by placing an empty chair where Google’s representative should have been.

I have to ask: Did anyone suggest launching a Google search?

Who would trust an abject coward?

By Mike Huckabee

The best observation on the New York Times anonymous Trump termite op-ed that I’ve heard came from Roger L. Simon at PJ Media. He asked who would trust an abject coward and pathetic tattletale who won’t give his name because he’s too afraid of losing a government job? His answer:

“Oh, yes, I bet somebody did -- Bob Woodward. We should ask him who it is.”

I'm more disturbed by the horrid behavior of the Senators than that of the insolent gallery "guests"during the confirmation hearings of the Honorable Judge Kavanaugh. We all are painfully aware they're ALREADY preparing for their 2020 bids for the Presidential election, so apparently they don't want to miss an opportunity for free advertisement, but to bully, harass, harangue, rudely interrupt and outright LIE should simply not be permitted. Senators Coons, Blumenthal, Hirono, Whitehouse, Harris, and Booker should immediate face censure. SOMEONE must have the courage to take a stand against all this lunacy. The time is now.

Why are these people, who don't have a say in whether or not Brett is confirmed allowed in these hearings?
