The Democrats quietly released their FEC financial report for October in the middle of last night’s debate, when any Democrats who were still conscious would likely be watching the debate (not that that means they were conscious.) So why the obvious attempts to sneak it under the radar? The numbers offer some clues:
In October, the DNC raised $9 million dollars. The RNC raised $25.3 million, nearly three times more. Year to date, the DNC has raised $75.5 million, the RNC $194 million. The DNC has $8.7 million cash on hand, the RNC $61.4 million. And the DNC has $7 million in debt, the RNC has zero debt.
No wonder the Democrats are so desperate to get jobs that give them the power to print money.
Speaking of Democrats and how they need to be in power to get and stay rich (Bernie Sanders is a millionaire with three houses, thanks to socialism!), the latest filing by the Clinton Foundation show that it’s turning into a bigger money pit than a fixer-upper in Baltimore.
In 2015, the Clinton Foundation had revenues of $116 million. Starting in 2016 (mysteriously), revenues begin dropping significantly. The documents show that in 2018, it posted a $16.8 million loss against revenues of only $30.7 million. It’s posted about $16 million in losses every year since 2015. That’s taking the term “non-profit” too far.
A spokesman denied that the Clinton Foundation is struggling. But critics pointed out that several years ago, an analysis ordered by Chelsea Clinton found questionable financial decisions (like charging lavish travel and accommodations as expenses) and concerns that donors, like all those foreign governments, expected (stop me if you’ve heard this before) a “quid pro quo” for their money.
I know we keep hearing that the Clinton Foundation is a respected international charity that does many great things and not a money-laundering apparatus for influence peddling. I’d truly like to believe that. But as Peter Schweitzer of the Government Accountability Institute asks, why then did the revenues dry up the instant there was no more influence to peddle?
In the meantime, if you have some money you’d like to give to a non-profit, I suggest this one. And their financial accountability information is right there on the website:
An Arkansas woman claims that Hunter Biden is the father of her one-year-old child. Biden has denied fathering the baby, which would have happened when he was in a relationship with his late brother Beau’s widow, and asked that her paternity suit be dismissed. But her attorneys say a new DNA test proves her claim that he’s the father with 99.9% certainty.
The story made waves on political sites, with some wondering if MSNBC would ask Joe Biden about it at the debate (answer: of course not). The White House sent a tongue-in-cheek congratulatory tweet to Joe Biden. And there were a lot of derisive jokes on the Internet. But I’m not going to join in.
I believe that every baby is a miracle and a gift from God. A child should never face ridicule, punishment, rejection or, God forbid, abortion, because of the circumstances of its birth. So I’ll just say this to Hunter Biden, and pardon my archaic gender role stereotyping:
Man up and accept your responsibilities to that innocent child. And please don’t try to tell us that you can’t afford it.
Sanctuary City Update: ICE officers in Seattle are furious at Washington County officials who ignored a detainer order for an illegal alien and let him be released on bail after he allegedly crashed into a car while street-racing, leaving an 81-year-old woman dead and her husband severely injured. Upon being let out of jail, the 20-year-old suspect is believed to have fled back to Mexico.
There are more details at the link, including the justifiably outraged reactions of local citizens to their officials’ prioritizing of protecting illegal immigrant criminals over protecting Americans’ lives. There’s also a quote from the husband that will break your heart before it makes you even more furious at the people who allowed this to happen and continue allowing things like it to happen over and over and over in the name of leftist politics.
The correct legal term for what these officials is doing is “accessory,” as in this case, “accessory to manslaughter.”
Things that aren’t news to anyone who reads my newsletter: Even the Washington Post fact-checker isn’t buying Adam Schiff’s ridiculous claim that his so-called “whistleblower” has a statutory right to remain anonymous and it’s against federal law to say his or her (but it’s his) name.
That’s actually just a rule that applies to only one person in Washington. If nobody in the hearing chamber is the Inspector General who handled the case, then nobody there is under any obligation to keep the “whistleblower’s” name a secret. So call him to the witness stand already, and let’s find out how this expensive, divisive farce really got started!
The editor of the Atlanta Journal Constitution is complaining that Clint Eastwood’s upcoming movie “Richard Jewell,” about the man falsely accused of being the Atlanta Olympics bomber, contains inaccuracies about the paper that are offensive and harm its reputation.
Wow, that's just unconscionable! Can you imagine how painful it must be for that poor newspaper to have a powerful media voice make false allegations that harm its reputation? I’ll be sure to bear that in mind as I’m watching the movie...“RICHARD JEWELL.”
Today’s much-needed break from politics: A heartwarming story for all of us who are tired of reading about the disrespect being shown to police officers.
