In recent commentaries, I’ve made flip remarks about Andrew McCabe leaving the FBI to collect his pension, just as Lois Lerner of the IRS is collecting hers. Well, Lerner gets to keep hers, but it turns out that McCabe’s pension is very much in play.

He’s still technically employed at the FBI for a few more days --- four, to be exact, as of this writing –- but after 21 years of service could still be fired during that time and lose his benefits, valued at $1.8 million if he lives to be 83. Either way, if Inspector General Michael Horowitz has anything more to ask him before completing his report, it will have to be sooner rather than later, as he has no power to talk with anyone who is no longer working at the FBI.

The FBI’s Office Of Professional Responsibility (yes, surprisingly, the FBI has one of those) is recommending termination. He stepped down from his post as deputy director earlier this year but timed his official retirement so that he would receive full benefits. Clever, huh? Now, if he can just manage to stay employed till Sunday, the magic day, he’ll retire with full pension. If he’s fired before then, he’ll have to finish out his life as a Walmart greeter.

Just kidding --- he’s only 49, and he’ll no doubt get a huge book contract from a giant liberal publishing house and be paid the big bucks to spin the massive screw-ups of partisan hacks like Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, who never thought their crass political motivations would see the light of day.

Even so, President Trump would surely love to see him given his walking papers. The Washington Post reports that as far back as December, Trump said McCabe was “racing the clock to retire with full benefits.” Of course, he knew better than to fire McCabe himself; even though he has every right and reason to do it, he’d face the same media hysteria that came when he fired FBI Director James Comey, even though McCabe isn’t even working now. Never mind that McCabe deserves to be fired, just as Comey richly deserved it --- Trump’s hands are tied in the current situation. It’s up to Attorney General Jeff Sessions to fire him.

If he’s fired, you can bet it’s been in the works for a while. According to a statement from the Justice Department, termination can happen only after a “prescribed process” which includes “recommendations from career employees and no termination decision is final until the conclusion of that process.” In other words, it’s not just a case of Sessions walking up and saying, “You’re fired!”

The recommendation to fire McCabe comes at least partially from information the IG uncovered and will presumably include in his report: that McCabe allowed high-ranking FBI officials to sit down with reporters from the Wall Street Journal and later misled the IG’s team about this. (McCabe denies making misleading statements.) The two officials –- one was his legal assistant and infamous pro-Hillary texter Lisa Page –- discussed an investigation into the Clinton Foundation, and talk of an ongoing investigation with the media would have been inappropriate. McCabe stepped away from his post as deputy director after his’s boss, FBI Director Chris Wray, was told of the IG’s findings.

So, is it vindictive to fire Andrew McCabe, perhaps just a few hours ahead of his retirement with full pension benefits? Would that just make the President look petty, or is making an example of McCabe a needed step in “draining the swamp” when it’s so rare to see anyone in government actually get the boot? Keep in mind that according to the Strzok and Page texts, it was in “Andy’s office” that they were talking about an “insurance policy” against Trump being President, and also that he avoided recusing himself in the Hillary case even though his wife had received a mind-blowing $700,000 for her race for the state legislature from Virginia governor and Clinton “bagman” Terry McAuliffe. With a conflict of interest like that, he should never have been anywhere near any investigation of Hillary. That’s just one more reason why he should have been tossed out long ago.

Dear Mr. Huckabee, Thank you for bringing truth to light and helping people like me understand what is really going on in Washington. In all of my 81 years I have never witnessed such lies and back stabbing among the people who are suppose to be our trusted leaders. It really breaks my heart for the young people in this country who are being brainwashed by the left-wing liberals.I daily pray for President Trump, Vice President Pence, and all of the leaders and advisers. God really is the only real hope we have. God bless you Sir.

It's time to charge, try, prosecute and punish those who have broken our laws. Once that is done, we will no longer distrust our government. We will come together as a nation, once again, knowing that justice is blind and all are treated equally under the law.The sooner, the better!

time to play hardball with people like McCabe and Lois Lerner, she is NoT immune from prosecution and should be and stripped of her pension. That is a reward, so far, for bad behavior and in her case criminal. We've been entirely too nice to our criminals. ergo the screaming and hollering about the CIA director elect. The left needs to be slapped down and in the most vicious terms imaginable. and criminals need to be dealt with like the criminals they are. Time to dump "PC in the garbage" as I believe you so aptly put it.

    Honorable Gov. Huckabee,
I'm a 24 year Retired USAR/FLARNG VETERAN who met goulash year when you visited my church, FBC downtown Jacksonville.
I reread the Constitution dealing with "Treason" this morning and, after some repraying alongside my rereading clearly see that an FBI Executive responsible for strict ENFORCEMENT of most other FBI agents in their equal and just ENFORCEMENT of our Laws under "Our Constitution" THAT LEVEL OF WILLFULL BREACH IN PUBLIC TRUST ALONE IS CLEARLY "LEVYING WAR AGAINST THE U.S. AND GIVING AID AND COMFORT TO ITS ENEMIES (ALL OF THEM) SO, YES, Andy McCabe should be fired and should lose his U.S.Government Pension today and forever and should go to jail for a long time to set "A proper Example" of Respect for "We the People" bound by that sacred Constitution which was most certainly BREACHED by an Enemy of "We, the People" who voted Donald Trump into office as our President And then was "Attacked from within by an Enemy within our own FBI". Pull/End this Enemy's Pension forever!
    P.S. My Dad was a USMC CPT. WWII and Korea;
My Brother, buried in Arlington Cemetery, was a 34 year USN CPT./Diver(Ordie).
And Yes. I'm mad at the time justice has taken to support the many other priorities of our Commander in Chief at such critical times in U.S. history. We have every reason!

I knew D.C. was corrupt but I had no idea the depths to which the liberals would go in criminal activities, greed for power, control, and money being their objective . It's pretty obvious to me why they (liberal progressives) were so upset when Donald Trump won the Oval Office. Had Hillary won, the American people would never have known how far reaching the tentacles of their criminal activities truly are. It would have been business as usual. Hopefully the wheels of justice will finally turn and they will reap the consequences of their actions and learn that no one, (not even a liberal progressive), is above the law. Thank you Mike Huckabee for shedding a bright light on all of it. I love your reporting and hope you will keep up the good work for years to come. God bless you!

Toss him out now, like he is one of us common folk. Or should he be rewarded with our hard earned dollars? How long will we cower to the evil threats of the "deep state"? We need more like President Donald Trump so we can have a whole team of courageous Davids fighting Goliath for us. Then again, God's anointing and the courage of one faithful man will suffice. Let us, in the name of Jesus, put on the full armor of YHWH God and trust in Him for our victories!

I have written whitehouse.gov numerous times over the last year to get rid of Sessions. He has been a total disappointment and it's too powerful job for him.

Justice has always turned a blind eye when it involves the well connected. Losing his pension is a slap on the hand for the fbi puppet.I'm positive it won't destroy him, like the thousands of victims these corrupted souls have killed or destroyed. They unleash their agenda upon the people like they are paper machete. The price he has to pay is pennies to the dollar, but something is better than nothing. P.S. Sara is awesome and i love your commentary when on fox. I knew little of you before process of nomination so my instinct was to write you off as corrupt politician, but now I believe my instinct to be wrong. 60 years of distrust for govt. does that to a man. Sad That' s why i instantly jumped on the " trump train" . So glad your not one of " them" or part of " they". George Karlin had a good spiel about " they"( Illuminati, nwo, billionaire boys club ) Your the man, mike. Have a nice day!!!!

i love your comments but you are dreaming if you think swamp sessions or rat wray will fire him. the only way he could be fired is if trump fires wray, sessions and rosenstein on the same day and replaces them immed which we all know cannot and will not happen.

Perhaps he could collect his pension only if he tells the entire true story of what happened with Clinton and what they did to President Trump
