Evening Edition - March 6

March 6, 2020

Friday morning’s Labor Department report shows that a whopping 273,000 jobs were created in February, blowing away the 175,000 number economists predicted (this was before fears of the coronavirus spooked markets.) The unemployment rate ticked back down to 3.5%, tying a half-century low. Average hourly earnings also rose by 9 cents over the past year to $28.52.

And now, the same news reported by Democrat Presidential candidates: “The hellish Trump economy continued in February, proving that Trump’s policies only benefit the rich and just aren’t working for the working classes…”

I already pointed out that Michael Bloomberg’s bonfire of an estimated 500 to 700 million campaign dollars (environmentalists are blaming him for global warming) should put a definitive end to all the liberals whining about billionaires being able to buy elections, along with their attempts to pass “campaign finance reform laws” that curtail constitutionally-protected political speech.

At the link, Mollie Hemingway of the Federalist makes another excellent point: if $600 million worth of “Mike Can Get It Done” ads blanketing every flat surface in America couldn’t win Bloomberg anything other than the primary in American Samoa, how in the heck did $200,000 worth of Facebook ads most people never saw tilt the 2016 national election to Trump?

https://thefederalist.com/2020/03/05/hemingway-if-bloomberg-couldnt-buy-2020-how-could-russia-buy-2016/

Bloomberg’s faceplant should finally put a stop to the three years of whining from the left about the 2016 election being “stolen” for Trump by Russia. It should, but since their political beliefs are impervious to evidence, it won’t.

Democrats Behaving Badly: There seems to be an unwritten rule in Washington that if a Republican commits the slightest infraction, there are major investigations and federal charges; but when Democrats do something genuinely outrageous or even criminal, the media response is to attack Republicans for responding so negatively to it. It’s called the “Republicans pounce” narrative.

This week, the Democratic water carriers in the media are reporting that the Republicans pounced on Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, just for standing outside the Supreme Court and threatening Justices Kavanaugh and Gorsuch by name if they didn’t rule the way Schumer wants on a landmark abortion case. Schumer has already gone through the two stages of contrition for a Democrat:

1. Send out a flunky to deny he said what we all heard him say and blame it on Republicans.

2. If that doesn’t make it go away, admit you made a poor choice of words, but don’t actually apologize because you’re still right in principle, it was just that those horrible Republicans made you so understandably passionate that you got carried away (it’s their fault, really.)

https://www.westernjournal.com/schumer-admits-not-used-words-used-yesterday-blames-republicans/

It’s possible, however, that in this case, Schumer’s infraction was too far beyond-the-pale. Even Chief Justice Roberts, liberal law professors, the American Bar Association, Judge Andre Napolitano, and TDS sufferer George Conway “pounced” and joined in the criticism – although, naturally, Conway blamed Trump for Schumer’s rant. Schumer was even condemned by his own words from three weeks ago.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/scher-last-month-condemned-trump-for-attacking-federal-judge

I doubt this will lead to Schumer being forced to resign his office, as it would for a Republican, or to face a federal investigation and possible charges, as it would for any regular American. But maybe Senate Republicans will stiffen their spines enough at least to censure him for it. I doubt that if Schumer weren’t afraid that’s a possibility that he ever would have progressed to step two above.

Meanwhile, in a minor-league version of the Schumer imbroglio, former DNC Chairwoman Donna Brazile is still refusing to apologize for telling Republican Party Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel to “go to Hell” live on Fox News, after McDaniel suggested that the DNC was attempting to stop Bernie Sanders from winning the nomination. Brazile also accused McDaniel of repeating “Russian talking points.”

When later given a chance to retract after cooling off, Ms. Brazile still refused to apologize for “speaking truth to power” but said she was “a forgiving person.” An odd claim, considering she’s the one who told McDaniel to go to Hell.

https://www.westernjournal.com/2-fox-stars-gave-donna-brazile-lesson-manners-outrageous-go-comment/

The true spirit of forgiveness was shown by McDaniel, who shrugged it off by saying, “Politics is a contact sport.” But she got in a subtle dig by saying she understands, if she were a Democrat, she’d be in a bad mood, too. And she finished with a very polite mic drop by pointing out that the claim that the DNC works secretly to deny the nomination to Bernie isn’t a Russian talking point. It came out of the book Donna Brazile wrote about the 2016 election.

The Daily Mail has some exclusive quotes from the new Hillary Clinton “documentary” on Hulu, and if there’s an Emmy Award for Self-Deceiving Obliviousness, I think we’ve already got this year’s winner.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8079693/Im-investigated-innocent-person-America-Hillary-Clinton-snaps-documentary.html

For the record: No, Hillary, you are not “the most investigated innocent person in America.” You’re more like the least-seriously investigated obviously guilty person in America. After enduring two years of a $30+ million investigation run by his worst enemies who still couldn’t find any evidence of “Russian Collusion” – an investigation based on garbage oppo research paid for by Hillary Clinton’s campaign – I’d say that Donald Trump deserves the title of “Most Investigated Innocent Person in America.”

Also, for the record: YES, there certainly IS a rule about not using an unsecured private email server when you’re Secretary of State. Maybe if she’d shown up for the mandatory orientation or the required regular refresher briefings, she would have known that. But I have a feeling it still wouldn’t have made her care.

Orientation at the IRS (and probably every other Federal agency instructs, employees NEVER to use e-mail outside the Agency to outside sources. That was a strict rule with the threat of dismissal for non compliance. Had a friend who called up her own sick mother's account to help her when she could not find her information; for that she lost her job. Seems that a regular employee was held to a higher standard than the Secretary of State. But, that was Hillary, we shouldn't be surprised.

Am I mistaken, or have the health experts stated that the corona virus death rate is .8 to 1%? Haven't past death rates for the common flu been at 1.5 to 2%? If this is the case, why is this new strain being given any more press and ginned up notice than the common flu? Hasen't the death rate of the common flu over the past year been double than that of this corona virus? Did not the Democrats and the media do this same thing with recession worries a year ago trying to bring down the economy? Given the nefarious, deceteful, underhanded nature of the Democratic party towards our President and our country, is there any justifiable reason for a clear thinking and reasonable person to think that this media and Democratic virus tyraid is anything more than another Russia hoax, another fake impeachment or another round of false accusations against our President's stellar Supreme Court nominees?
    WAKE UP!

MS Brazile is just another member the angry leftist. As a whole they take no responsibility for their nasty childlike behavior. Mike, I am with you, this is an opportunity for the conservative politicians to step up and develop a backbone.
I continue to pray for wisdom and discernment, not only for our president but for all the Believers around him.

I, too, am tired of a few things, such as: whining about how bad things are when, in reality, they are better than they've been since I can't remember when (I'm 87); the murder of the English language (i.e.: poor spelling, incorrect/no punctuation, faulty context, run-on sentences); lack of proofreading skills; accusations thrown around without any thought of how it makes the other person feel; lack of knowledge of the history of our country; and disrespect for our flag and our Constitution. If all these things touch a nerve with any person reading this, perhaps you should look at yourself in the mirror and make some adjustments in your attitude. The unvarnished truth is: we live in a wonderful country that is in the midst of a type of civil war. It was created by a Manchurian Candidate (BHO) who is rubbing his hands together in glee and laughing out loud in his livingroom because he can see how successful he's been. Our universities have danced to his tune and graduated millions of easily led young people who now have no idea of how much sacrifice has been made in order to create our society. They accept disrespect for our flag and our national anthem as if it didn't make any difference. They don't even know the name of our president in some instances. Just today I read a post on FB that implied that if my friend kept his opinion on a certain subject, he might lose all his friends...and that comment was made by a 'supposedly' friend of his. We have Freedom of Speech here, in case, anyone has forgotten. That means I have a right to have a different opinion than the next guy; it does not mean he can harm me in some way because of it. If these comments offend anyone, too bad. I've been offended by ALL of the above for years and years...and no one seems to care about how many tears I've shed because of it.

I think the best thing the Left has done is to take the light off some racism toward the Black community and others and put the the dislike of Democrats under the light. Look at the misfits the Left puts in front of the cameras and microphones each day Schiff Pelosi Schumer Cuomo Brazile Nadler Farrachan Sanders Biden Warren Maxine Watters Omar Talib AOC CNN MSNBC NYT you get the picture normal people cannot embrace these lunatics How does one allow murder of new born babies how does one allow criminals that rape kill steal out of bondage the people that allow this need to be put in straight jackets and hauled away for the publics protection complete insanity; these people are criminal themselves. Strip as much funding from these communities as possible people elect these morons let them live with it. I will take as much money the feds take back to lower my Federal tax I will find a decent way to use it.

I'm very concerned for Gorsuch and Kavanaugh's safety. With Schumer's threat, I fear it will give some lunatic leftist the idea of taking a pot shot at them...or much worse. They are SO angry and vindictive that this is a very real possibility. Schumer should face a VERY STIFF penalty...like firing him from the Senate!...or prison!!
