Some things are eternal: the seasons change, the tide goes in and out, and the Clintons will forever be under some sort of ethics investigation. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Grassley confirmed to Fox News that the State Department has launched a formal inquiry into Hillary Clinton’s email practices while his own committee is looking into allegations that as Secretary of State, she interfered in a Bangladeshi corruption investigation on behalf of a big Clinton Foundation donor.
A Clinton spokesman replied, “Nothing’s been more thoroughly dissected. It’s over. Case closed. Literally.” But while the case may have been shoved into the closet by the previous Administration, it wasn't closed. A spokesman for the watchdog group Judicial Watch pointed to the legal consequences others have faced for far less serious infractions, saying, “This flagrant double standard for the gang that exposed top secret code-word material to the Russians, Chinese and others is both offensive and deeply corrosive to the intelligence community. There is no better evidence that when it comes to Hillary Clinton and her coterie, laws are for the little people.” I’d add that with the ongoing investigation of the current Administration for alleged collusion and obstruction, for which there’s still no evidence whatsoever, laws apply double for billionaires --- but only if they’re Republican office holders.
This story also notes that the State Department investigation could result in Hillary “losing the security clearance that gives her access to important government information.” To which I think we would all respond: “Hillary Clinton still has a SECURITY CLEARANCE?!!!”
