President Trump in Europe

July 14, 2018

President Trump is continuing his European visit in Great Britain.  So far, he’s outraged the Europeans by telling them that NATO nations need to live up to their obligation to pay more for their own security, that Britain’s exit from the EU is taking too long and being handled badly, that a selectively-edited interview with him was “fake news,” and that open borders and unfettered immigration are causing terrible problems for Europe.  European leaders responded by crying that he’s wrong, without specifying about what.

And some Londoners (but far fewer than predicted), who live in a city whose leadership has responded to rising crime by banning guns for the law-abiding and then knives and then suggesting that maybe knives should be made less sharp (none of them are the sharpest knives in the drawer), took to the streets for a protest that embarrassed them more than it did Trump. Even their Bizarro World Macy’s Parade Anti-Trump Balloon was an embarrassment.  Maybe they should spend less time whining about Trump and more time looking for jobs so they wouldn’t have time to waste clogging the streets during daylight hours.

Meanwhile, if Europeans would like a much-needed demonstration of how to behave with grace, elegance, charm and dignity, don’t look to politicians, and Heaven knows, don’t look to the childish protesters.  Look to America’s First Lady, who quietly and tactfully schooled them all.

I would also like to add, on a personal note, how proud I was to see the White House Press Secretary accompanying the POTUS and FLOTUS to tea with Queen Elizabeth II.  I wish her grandparents could have been alive to see that.  For them, being invited to a catfish fry at City Hall in Hope, Arkansas, would have been hard to imagine.

    Mike
Am a big supporter of yours and of the #POTUS. Very proud of your daughter,as I know she's a blessing to you well as our country. I don't alway agree with the way POTUS says it but I support him in saying it. We are much better for him.

Please tell your daughter that she is doing a fantastic job. I don’t know how she puts up with those childish reporters every day. God bless!

Governor, I am not a tweeter, but subscribe only to stay informed. However, I feel you might be the right person to tweet to, given the state of the country and how distasteful the political and social climate have become. I am a supporter of President Trump’s agenda and very satisfied with his accomplishments, thus far. However, I am feeling increasingly helpless and even hopeless, sometimes, with what I hear and read with regard to the disrespect and the outright disregard of the US Presidency! I am down-right fearful of speaking out or of even showing my support. This country and the world, in general, have changed significantly of late and NOT for the better. I find it frustrating that even thought I voted for the WINNER, I am made to feel that I am the LOSER...because of the fear I have of showing my support.
I love what the President has been able to accomplish, but I must say that he might be better received if he toned down his rhetoric a few notches, as I think fueling the fires of the left is doing more harm than good for this country and for our place in the world. If you have any “pull or influence” with the President, please ask him to pay closer attention to “how” he says what he is thinking....before he says things!!! Thanks for letting me vent...keep up your tweeting...you sometimes seem like the only sane voice out there!!

Super proud of you Mr. Huckabee. Love that you add whit and humor to the issues of the day while not baking down from a challenge. Your a great ambassador for the state of Arkansas, the Christian faith, and conservatism.

    Governor,
Thank you for your spirited, tell it like it is (with humor), opinions. You are a God loving, positive proud person. Please continue to counteract the false press with honesty and spirituality. The analogy of the catfish fry and tea with the Queen almost made me lose my coffee this morning. Sarah is an American treasure and role model for famlies. God Bless you.

I was struck by your comment about the grandparents. We are so blessed in our country by the freedoms we enjoy that make tea with the Queen possible for even those with humbler beginnings. I loved your comment

Thank you Mike, very well written...........
I am a naturalized American who was born in India and made US my home when I was 22.
Having spent most of my adult life here and also having traveled extensively, I believe that we are the most blessed nation on this earth.
God has blessed us with both hands, and our exceptionalism is the cause of envy for the whole world. That someone from Hope, AR can have a cup of Tea with a royalty is a case in point. Sarah herself is a Royalty being the daughter of the Most High !
Believers of this nation repented and God delivered them from downward spiral in 2016. Let us Never forget that.
DJT has been appoited by God, no doubt about that ! NONE of the 16 or 17 contenders would be able to take the heat & vitriol that he is taking in a stride and continuing do good before His Face.
Yet we don't put our faith in any man............... God Bless :)
