Sen. Kamala Harris, the current Democratic presidential favorite among people who would like a lot of expensive stuff for free, branded the idea of a wall to protect the US border as “medieval.” Ironically, what's genuinely medieval is that back in her home state of California, the uncontrolled homeless problem in Los Angeles has led to widespread filth, feces and fleas and brought back the spread of typhus, a potentially deadly medieval disease.
Official estimates are that there are up to 60,000 homeless people in L.A., living in at least 222 encampments, including one right by City Hall. Skid Row is now known as the “Typhus Zone.” One city worker who contracted the painful disease said, “Who gets typhus? It’s a medieval disease that’s caused by trash.”
(Incidentally, the conditions in even-more-liberal San Francisco make L.A. look like it’s been “sanitized for your protection.”)
It’s worth mentioning that one good reason for strong border security and immigration laws is to keep people from coming into the US who are carrying diseases that we didn’t have or had nearly eradicated in the US. But why worry about that when “progressive” government policies result in the kind of unsanitary conditions that can breed medieval bacteria right here at home? Well, at least they’ll insure that there’s still something being made in America.
I admit, I was wrong about “progressives.” I thought they only wanted to turn back the clock to enact failed economic policies from 50 to 100 years ago. Turns out their policies also bring back the hygiene standards and medical problems of the 14th century.
No wonder Sen. Harris wants to make sure everyone has Medicare. If she turns the entire US into California, we’re all going to need it!
