Today's Edition: 6 minute read

Democrats may not know much about history (except if they can blame America), and don't know much biology (HOW many genders??), but when it comes to Donald Trump, they know their “three R’s”: Russia, racism, and recession.

They tried to take him down with their made-up “Russia” narrative, going so far as to accuse candidate Trump, President-elect Trump, and finally President Trump of being a Russian agent, Vladimir Putin’s puppet, a traitor to his country who should be swinging from the highest tree. After faking the reason to investigate him and turning his campaign and later his administration inside out for over three years, they found that nothing was going to come of this incredible accusation, and impeachment started looking like a shattered dream. Now we know that THEY, obviously, were the ones who “colluded” and “meddled” in the 2016 election.

Holding government accountable when it becomes partisan

By Mike Huckabee

A former investigative analyst with the law enforcement arm of the IRS pleaded guilty this week to leaking confidential IRS information on former Trump attorney Michael Cohen to sleazy porn lawyer Michael Avenatti.

https://nypost.com/2019/08/15/irs-staffer-pleads-guilty-to-giving-michael-cohens-confidential-info-to-avenatti/

I know it’s tempting to think, “Who cares if one sleazy, unethical lawyer gets dirt on another sleazy, unethical lawyer?”  It’s like the old joke, “What do you call a thousand lawyers on the bottom of the ocean?  ‘A good start.’”  But don’t let cynicism or weariness with the left's endless “get dirt on Trump at any cost” crusade obscure the important point here.  This is a dead-serious abuse of power that undermines trust in the entire IRS system.

John C. Fry of the law enforcement arm of the IRS twice went into IRS computers, removed confidential taxpayer information on a US citizen, and illegally leaked it to a person of bad repute with a political vendetta against the President, who released it on Twitter.  That’s not a veiled accusation from some partisan conspiracy website: the agent pleaded guilty after being identified in an investigation by the Treasury Department Inspector General.

The US Attorney for the Northern District of California said in a statement, “Fry was given access to sensitive and powerful government databases including people’s most private financial information and he was given that access to do his job as an investigative analyst.  He decided his politics were more important than his obligation to follow the law. In that, he was mistaken.”

(I would add that in that, he was hardly alone.)

Fry is facing a maximum of five years behind bars and up to $250,000 in fines.  It’s a hopeful sign that an IG investigation has finally resulted in identifying and holding accountable a political partisan in the government who committed an egregious breach of the public trust.  May it be only the first of many, which it needs to be if the government is ever going to restore the public’s faith that their private data on file in Washington is safe, federal agencies are impartial and law-abiding, and guilty people are held to account, no matter how well-connected they may be in Washington.

AOC's winning strategy

By Mike Huckabee

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has hit on the winning strategy for Democrats in 2020: not only constantly brand President Trump as a racist, but also make it clear that his core supporters (i.e., both Republican and swing voters) are also racists, although they might not realize they’re racists because racism isn’t being taught to American citizens.  As she put it:

"We need to talk about racism. Its contours. Its histories, where it manifests. How it's used because like all winning, political phenomenon, whether they're good or bad in your opinion, they rely on coalition building.  Trump relied on a coalition and a core part of that coalition were racists building a coalition with all sorts of other people that could be susceptible to racist views if they were blanketed and layered and made people feel good about it not being a racist thing."

https://freebeacon.com/politics/ocasio-cortez-core-part-of-trump-coalition-racists/

So maybe you thought you voted for Trump because you were fed up with the corrupt, elitist status quo, or you were tired of working three part-time jobs because your old job was sent to China and illegal immigrants were undercutting your wages, or maybe just because anyone would be better than Hillary.  But oh, how wrong you were!  Actually, it was because you’re a racist who hadn't yet been enlightened by AOC that you were a racist because you had no conscious racist beliefs or were possibly a minority member yourself, so it never occurred to you what a racist you are.

Luckily, there’s a solution, you racists.  Just vote for the Democrats, and once you put them back in power, they will work tirelessly to help you by teaching you all the ways that you’re a racist.  Now, doesn’t that sound like a better deal than enforcing the laws and bringing back manufacturing jobs?

Listen to her, Democrats.  I think she’s really on to something here!

Where not to live...

By Mike Huckabee

The website 24/7WallStreet has compiled a list of the 30 worst Congressional districts for black residents to live, based on the gap between white and black residents in such areas as median-household income, homeownership, unemployment, poverty, and educational achievement.  Here are the results:

https://247wallst.com/special-report/2019/08/14/worst-congressional-districts-for-black-americans/

The biggest news to come out of the survey is that the #1 worst district for black residents is Minnesota’s 5th Congressional district that encompasses Minneapolis and some suburbs.  Its Representative is…(drum roll)…Ilhan Omar!

https://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2019/08/15/minnesotas-5th-congressional-district-listed-as-worst-di-struct-for-black-americans-to-live/

Of course, that link reminds us that Omar is only a freshman Representative who could hardly be expected to have helped turn around decades of problems already.  Fair enough.  But considering her District is the worst in America for people of color, so change seems rather urgent, perhaps she could tell us what she’s done in the months she has been in office to start to address this crisis for her constituents back home.  I’m sure she’s been focused like a laser on helping the people of her district, right?  So…what has she been doing since taking office?

Anyone?  Anyone?  Bueller?...

Powerful & personal story by a woman who exposes a REAL hate group in America, the so-called "Southern Poverty Law Center," which she documents is a total scam to make $$ for the leaders, not ppl in poverty.  Maybe the DOJ will investigate SPLC for fraud.

I was sad to learn of the death of my dear friend, Gov. Kathleen Blanco of Louisiana. We were from different parties, but she and her husband (everyone just called him "Coach") were classy, lovely ppl and we worked together on projects that helped both our states. I will miss her!

I was just wondering if you were concerned that a recent Fox news poll had Donald Trump down when run against 4-5 leading Democrat contenders. I mean, normally, I just shrug my shoulders and say, "Well of course, you can't trust the liberal media polls." But hey, this is a poll taken by FOX News! I don't get it!

    Hey Mike -
Would you notify President Trump to hold rallies in these 30 districts?
Most seemed to have DNC Representatives in Congress.
His 2016 slogan "What have you got to lose?" should resonate here.
The RNC-GOP ad campaigns should target these, to replace the DNC incumbents.
