The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation announced that this year’s Profile in Courage Award will go to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.  Her alleged achievements include:  “In 2010, amid a public climate of deepening polarization, Pelosi tirelessly spearheaded the passage of the Affordable Care Act” and for her “persistence and determination” in the 2016 election in promoting diversity and rebuilding “the Democratic Party in the image of America.”

I can’t help imaging what John F. Kennedy would say about that if he were alive today. Of course, if he were alive now, there’d probably be no place for him in today’s “diverse” Democratic Party.  JFK was a white male; a veteran and military hawk; a Catholic; he cut taxes because he knew that “paradoxically,” too-high rates decrease revenues (or as Democrats later sneeringly called that, “Reaganomics”); and he famously said, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country.”  The motto of the current Democrats is “Demand that the government do everything for everyone from cradle to grave, including people who couldn’t even be bothered to respect our laws in coming here.”

I well remember how then-Speaker Pelosi combated “polarization” by forcing through Obamacare via closed-door meetings and a party-line vote, giddily waving her gavel in the faces of masses of protesters while saying we would learn what was in it after it passed.  I think the word for that isn’t “courage” but “contempt.”

The JFK Library Foundation also gushed, “With Democrats back in the majority, Pelosi elevated a new generation of leaders to leadership positions and skillfully united her party, focusing on shared values, policy priorities, and a commitment to governing for the greater good.”

Okay, let’s play on their turf: Pelosi and her Party have been in charge of the House since January.  In the past three months, what have they done to focus on “shared values” and improve America “for the greater good”?

Well, let’s see: they did manage to pass a bill protecting and expanding public lands that had heavy bipartisan support in both Houses and was signed into law by President Trump.  And surprise, they passed a big omnibus spending bill.  And…well, that’s it for legislation.

They did pass a resolution to try to block President Trump from declaring an emergency at the Southern border (which even the New York Times now admits is true), but he vetoed it.  They also proposed the “We The People Act” (in reality, the “Make Sure Only Democrats Ever Get Elected Again” Act), the “Green New Deal” (spend $93 trillion to destroy the economy, enact socialism and feed Gas-X to cows under the guise of reducing CO2 emissions) and “The SAFE Banking Act” (which protects banks that do business with marijuana sellers – notice a recurring disconnect between what these bills are titled and what they actually do?)  None of those things have passed, thank goodness, and one hopes they would all be DOA in the Senate.

Oh, and let’s not forget the blizzard of subpoenas in an attempt to abuse their powers to harass citizens with endless fishing expeditions to try to criminalize political disagreements and overturn the 2016 election, their refusal to accept the findings of the special counsel they insisted on, and their demand that the Mueller report be released immediately in total disregard for the Constitutional rights of the innocent people in the report whose private information needs to be redacted or the protection of any classified information.

And of course, there was the promotion of that dynamic new generation of “Progressives” into leadership roles that's helped give the Democratic Party a reputation for being friendly to socialism, anti-Semitism, open borders, 90% tax rates and various other idiotic and disastrous policies they once tried to distance themselves from.  I’ll bet privately, even Nancy Pelosi is cursing that turn of events.

Maybe we should just look at this award as one more liberal-approved Participation Trophy.  That’s the only way it makes sense.

If America ever comes to it's senses again Obama's , Nancy's, and Al Gore's contribution to America will forever be a reminder that we had better learn the truth, and obey it , or we will fall this low again. These three people are in a mess mentally because of being so wicked, and ignorant. They aren't the only ones, but they are leaders of a multitude of ignorant, and blind folks . How about the ones who hand out these awards. We can't help but pity them

My first reaction is this is an April Fool joke, right? Nancy has done nothing except sow discord in the House of Representatives, in the Senate and in the Administration. She is a fool, a joke. She can't string enough words together to complete a sentence. I agree with you. This is merely a "participation trophy". Just as the Noble Peace Prize and the Pulitzer Prize have become insignificant this "prize" is not insignificant. "Full of sound and fury and signifying nothing" is an apt description of the failure this woman is.

JFK was the last Democrat President who cared about the country. All after him are/were trash of the first water. JFK would be a Republican today.

Mike when I read the first line of this story, I immediately thought what you wrote about "What would JFK think if he was still alive!" I often wonder what would they would think if certain Presidents like Lincoln, Truman, FDR and JFK were to come along today. (Even Nixon)

John F. is turning over in his grave right now for she does not deserve any awards unless it is the HATE award for that is what she is spreading and she is backing the Muslim's in our gov. offices, but claims to be a Christian of the Catholic Church. this Church do not request the reading of the Bible only prayer book by the Church. I know many are devout Catholic's but never read the Bible

I'd imagine one of two things occurred for this to happen.
    1. A relative of hers is on the selection committee in a high ranking position.
    2. The JFK Library Foundation is in need of more funding from the DNC/Pelosi group.
oops - make that 3 things:
    3. Everybody on the selection committee was trying out the new medicinal marijuana in their area.

Nobody with half a brain could honestly choose "that woman" for an award based on those criteria.

oops again! - make it 4 things:
    4. The JFK Library Foundation has been taken over by the Nobel committee!

I am shocked that Nancy Pelosi received any kind of award. I do not know anything that she has done to benefit the American people. She is a power-hungry Democrat. I pray for people not against people. I will pray that she has a change of attitude but I think the Lord will become very displeased with Miz Pelosi and her followers. I will pray for his will to be done. I have found that this prayer gets Christian ideals out front and pushing forward in most cases.
Thank you for your messages, Mr. Huckabee. May you always walk in the light of the Lord.

    Re: Pelosi Wins An Award.
Nancy Pelosi winning an award for her "achievements" in 2010 pertaining to passing the ACA is laughable.
I recall Obama and his minions working on this bill 'in the dark' and presenting it for passage in the same.
Recall Pelosi's infamous remark; "Well, we had to pass it to see what was in it."

I'd like to ask her one question; Ms Pelosi, when you go shopping for groceries or any other goods, do you simply put all the items you want in a cart and go to the check out, pay for them and THEN go home and see what they cost? I bet if it's YOUR money, you don't !!

Mike, I remember watching the nightly news some years ago and there was a short video of Nancy Pelosi arguing with some other member (a Republican) of the house. In their exchange, this member said; "Ms Pelosi, check your facts! You never check your facts!" That remark got under her skin, she came down out of her seat, walked across the house chamber (breaking protocol) and while waving her finger at this gentlemen, uttered; "You're insignificant,
    You are insignificant!"
That spoke VOLUMES to me - and anyone else who could see Pelosi clearly thinks she's ABOVE all those she is SUPPOSED to be serving, regardless of party allegiance. To borrow a line from Hillary..."she's deplorable".
