This is why some Republicans who have long griped about Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell have recently been shocked to find themselves liking him more and more:

Yesterday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi pulled one of her typically melodramatic photo ops, calling a press conference with a big graphic behind her showing various Democratic legislative agenda items (“The Paycheck Fairness Act,” “The Equality Act,” “The For-the-People Act,” “Gun Violence Prevention,” etc., most of them government-bloating, freedom-killing leftist power grabs with misleadingly positive names) written on tombstones.  She called it “McConnell’s Graveyard,” and solemnly intoned that McConnell “takes great pride in calling himself ‘the Grim Reaper’” and he “wants to bury” all these vital initiatives.

Here is McConnell’s reply:

"She's got it absolutely right. For the first time in my memory, I agree with Nancy Pelosi.  I am indeed the 'Grim Reaper' when it comes to the socialist agenda that they have been ginning up over at the House with overwhelming Democratic support and sending it over to America. Things that would turn us into a country we have never been…None of those things are going to pass the Senate. They won't even be voted on. So think of me as the Grim Reaper.”

This is why the media are in such a tizzy over how Republicans are acting in the Trump era.  We’re supposed to quietly absorb ridiculous accusations and attacks by Democrats, look contrite and apologize for defending America.  We’re not supposed to throw their garbage back in their faces and say, “You’re darn right I oppose your dangerous socialist policies.”  Why, it just isn’t cricket!

There used to be a legal defense in Texas called the “He needed killin’” defense.  I think Mitch is not only the Grim Reaper, after that response to the Democrats’ toxic agenda, he’s now an honorary Texan.

A reminder for all the media members and Democratic Presidential hopefuls clutching their pearls and calling for impeachment over President Trump saying he might hypothetically look at negative info on an opponent offered by someone from a foreign country like Norway:

Not only did Hillary Clinton and the DNC actually spend millions of dollars on Russian oppo dirt on Trump in 2016, but in 2017, her campaign spokesman went on record defending it.  Here’s the money quote: “I probably would have volunteered to go to Europe myself to try and verify if it would have helped get more of this out there before the election.”

To be fair, that’s also hypothetical.  Clinton’s campaign operatives didn’t have to go to Europe to get foreign dirt on their opponent into the media quickly.  They had campaign operatives like James Comey to leak it to the media for them.

Attention, parents of teenage girls, particularly if you’re pro-life: If you let them read Teen Vogue magazine, you should know that publication is advising them that it’s okay to get abortions without even telling their parents because, hey, “accidents happen,” and “access to abortion should be your right, regardless of your parents’ beliefs.”  Besides, pro-life parents are probably hypocrites who would approve of abortions for their own daughters anyway.

If you think that’s just a one-time punk opinion piece from an advice columnist, a study found that in 2017, Teen Vogue had printed 63 pro-abortion articles by the end of February (you know: the SECOND month of the year.)  Amazingly, the magazine also finds room to cover other issues aside from promoting abortion, like pushing leftwing politics and instructing young readers on how to perform various kinky sex acts and how to “safely” send nude selfies to their romantic partners.

If you wouldn’t feed garbage into your children’s mouths, why would you let someone feed garbage into their brains?  What should be in vogue right now among responsible parents is canceling subscriptions to Teen Vogue.

After taking flak for running an anti-Semitic cartoon about Benjamin Netanyahu, the New York Times announced that it will no longer run any political cartoons.  This seems like a clear overreaction.  The solution should be obvious: just don’t run any more anti-Semitic political cartoons.  But judging from recent history, it appears the Times editors are incapable of recognizing their own anti-Semitism, so they’re going to kill a fly with a sledge hammer and ban all editorial cartoons.

This is a worrisome development because so many other papers take their cues from the Times, and this could spark a general crackdown on editorial cartoons, for fear that they might offend someone (and these days, America is filled with people who claim to be “offended” by virtually everything.)  That would be a major loss since a good editorial cartoon can often make a point better than a thousand-word editorial – particularly one by the gaseous editors of the New York Times.

The Times is already one of the few newspapers that doesn’t include a comics section.  If it does away with political cartoons as well, Times readers will have nothing to satisfy their urge for something cartoonish other than the paper’s “news” coverage of President Trump.

Happy Flag Day, everyone!  Flag Day is celebrated every year on June 14th, the anniversary of the date in 1777 when the first, Betsy Ross version of Old Glory, featuring 13 stripes and a circle of 13 stars to represent the first 13 states, was officially adopted as the United States flag.  Flag Day is not only a celebration of the flag itself, but of all that it represents, and of all the men and women across more than two centuries who have given their lives to protect those rights and freedoms.

There are varying accounts of where the first Flag Day observances began, but we can thank the Elks Club for bringing it to national awareness.  The Elks designated June 14th as Flag Day in 1907.  President Woodrow Wilson recognized the Elks' observance in 1916; and President Harry Truman, himself an Elk, made it an official national holiday in 1949.

The Elks also made it mandatory for each lodge to hold an annual Flag Day ceremony, to help teach members, guests and especially young people the history and importance of the flag and how it is to be honored (believe it or not, you don’t honor the flag by taking a knee when you see it, or leaving the room in a huff when the Pledge of Allegiance to it is recited.  Acting like a disrespectful jerk toward the flag is something we have the freedom to do because of all the people who sacrificed so much to secure it – which is why Americans should not exercise their right to act like disrespectful jerks toward the flag.)

Some lodges have already held this year’s events, but others are going on today.  I hope you’ll search the Internet to see if your local Elks club is holding a Flag Day ceremony today and take your kids.  It’s never too early for them to learn the history of this great nation, what the flag (actually, flags) that have flown over it stand for, and why they should show respect for the Stars and Stripes.

On a personal note, thanks to the Fort Worth, Texas, Elks Club for staging a wonderful patriotic ceremony last Sunday attended by “Huckabee” writers Pat Reeder and Laura Ainsworth, as well as a number of veterans and active duty military and ROTC members.  Laura was invited to sing the National Anthem and performed a stunning acapella version.  Pictured are Laura and Elks Chaplain Charles Lew, the writer of the program and, like Laura, also a singer of standards.

At the link, this year’s proclamation from President Trump, denoting today as Flag Day and this week as National Flag Week.

Kudos the Senator Mitch McConnell. It is about time. There are a few others who speak out against the Democrats constant verbal assault on our President, the strong agenda of the Dems for socialism, open borders, etc. But sadly, the Republicans have played too nice for too long and the Dems took advantage of them and have pressured too many to be too silent and of course, some traitorous Republicans are mixed in among the Democrats. There needs to be many more Republicans fighting against what the Democrats want to do this nation. It seems almost too late, yet it isn't, as the 2020 election is approaching quickly. Maybe if more of them speak up and speak out against the Democrats and their disastrous agenda for our nation and the American people, they might just gain some respect and hope that their political party isn't going to just going to remain silent and say and do nothing. Wake up Republican Senators as America needs to hear from you, so we don't continue getting more and more discouraged when all we see if the sickening behavior of the Democrats and the ever present Deep State Swamp !!!

This comment isjust an observation that I have, which I heard from a black lady, don't remember her name, but it has struck a chord with me...
There are states that are right now practicing socialism. California comes to the forefront... look at the conditions of that state with its socialistic practices and what it looks like! This should be the poster child of socialism currently being practiced in the good old USA! Thanks for listening to my opinion.

I kneel for the Cross, stand for the Flag, and show respect for our Police, Firefighters and first responders. This Nation was and is the greatest Nation in the world and it will remain so only if we put God back on the Throne. I stand with Israel because they are God's chosen people. I continue to hold our President and this country's leadership up in Prayer and hope that God will see fit to bless us with His wisdom.
    God bless America!

American Legion, DVA, and VFW posts also hold flag raising ceremonies and they explain what the Stars and Stripes and the colors of the flag. Also, how to dispose of the flag when it is torn or dirty.

I have commented many times about letting the leaders from the Left continue to talk first they are senseless and I used to think they were serious the last 3 months I finally got wise and now believe Sat. Nite Live writes for the Left they are not to be taken serious they are for me comedy. Pelosi's little skit with the tombstones was very funny and calling Mitch the Grim Reaper, wanting to see our President in Prison and Nanci cheering on the little munchen Nadler and her other friend the hunched over Mr. Grinch Chuckie The Cry Baby I think thats the end of her friends unless that little rodent Schiff is still around not a lot talent there however they make for some funny skits. Keep em coming your ratings are at about 19 now another month they will be 9. See ya at the bottom losers!!!!!!!!! MAGA

I think President Trump is driving the MSM batty because he won’t “play” by the rules that they set up. He fights back and exposes them for the biased media they are. I for one am very happy he does. On another note your daughter never backed down either. I thank her for that, she is the best press secretary I have ever seen.

You are to be congratulated for the wonderful daughter you raised. Although I'm sure your other children are as full of integrity, she surpasses every other person I've been around to see, and I'm 70. Bless her as she considers her next role and enjoys her family. I've never seen such "grace under fire" as she served the President.
Thank you for your emails, they help give some perspective to the news.

I have been impressed of late with Sens. McConnell and Graham. The problem, as I see it, is that they and most all other Republicans for way too long have quietly sat back and let the Democrats run all over them....which brings us to where we are today. Where were their voices, their votes when Republicans held both the House and the Senate? Still letting Lucy (the Democrats) promise all kinds of "compromise"--you give in on this, and we'll give in later on another issue. And, still letting Lucy (the Democrats) pull the football away when it was time for the Republicans to step up to the tee. Hopefully, it's not too late. While I sometimes cringe at President Trump's tweets--at least he is speaking up and putting the Democrats in their places on many issues. I'm not sure I'd want a handful of Republicans to be in the camera every chance like Maxine, Pelosi, Warren, to name a few, have been over the last several years, but it wouldn't have hurt for them to have made a few pointed speeches.

You are dead on about somebody being offended by everything. I understand there is a seminar run by the Al Sharpton institute, called "How to be offended by anything, everything and nothing!" Its mandatory for all DNC staff members.

Thank you for all that you do. Please, also, relay to your daughter that we, my wife and I, and multitudes of other patriots, have appreciated her service at the White House and are distressed she is leaving her position. We understand the need to make changes suddenly appears. God Bless you all and a great future of joy in all that you do. Peloski's tombstone gravesite should be called America's Graveyard! Those bills would be the end of America's freedom!
