I don’t agree often with Bill Maher, but every so often, he takes the right stand, and he’s usually the only person in Hollywood brave enough to do it. So hats off to him for using his TV show Friday to attack the BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement against Israel as a “bull-BLEEP purity test by people who want to appear ‘woke’ but actually slept through history class,” and who refuse to acknowledge any responsibility on the part of the Palestinians or that the founder of the BDS movement denied Israel’s right to exist. He also quoted a few of BDS fan Rep. Ilhan Omar’s anti-Semitic remarks.

For daring to speak the truth, Maher was the target of a call for a boycott of his show by Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who accused him of attacking free speech (I know, the irony is strong with this one) and compared the BDS movement with the fight against South African apartheid.

The reaction from the World Jewish Congress was swift, on-point and well-deserved, as you can see at this link:

If Democrats really expect us to believe that it is Donald Trump who’s somehow encouraging a rise in neo-Nazism by not condemning it strongly enough, it might behoove Nancy Pelosi to demonstrate that she’s still strong enough to rein in her freshmen who are openly joining with anti-Semites to try to destroy Israel, and now trying to silence anyone who criticizes them. There are ominous echoes of the 1930s in this story, and they are not coming from the Trump camp.

Rep. Ilhan Omar reacted to the Israeli government banning her and Rep. Rashida Tlaib from visiting Israel for the purpose to inciting unrest and promoting the anti-Semitic BDS movement by using her trademark tactic of claiming to be a victim of anti-Muslim prejudice. She accused Israel of implementing President Trump’s “Muslim ban” policy to keep her out. Prime Minister Netanyahu responded forcefully, as you can see at this link.

You may be surprised, but I find myself forced to agree with Rep. Omar here. You see, Trump’s so-called “Muslim ban” was actually nothing of the sort. It applied to some non-Muslim majority nations and didn’t apply to most majority-Muslim nations. It wasn’t aimed at “Muslims,” it was aimed at keeping out undesirables of any type who only wanted to come to America to attack it from within.

By that seldom-acknowledged but accurate definition, what Israel did is exactly what Trump’s policy aimed to do: keep out a couple of foreigners who were only coming to make trouble. So for possibly the first and last time, I have to concede that Rep. Omar was right about something: Netanyahu was following Trump’s policy. And it worked great.

Over the weekend, massive protests against China continued in Hong Kong, with crowd estimates ranging from hundreds of thousands of people to as many as 1.7 million. Describing the situation as “tense” would be an extreme understatement. Hong Kong could be on the verge of something historic and not necessarily in a good way.

For a quick understanding of what’s going on and how we got here, check out this primer by the BBC.

What’s the most reliable formula on Earth? E=MC squared? The Nestle’s Tollhouse cookie recipe? Nope, it’s this: Maximum liberalism X maximum government power X maximum time in power = Maximum disaster.

You can see the results of that formula in cities such as Detroit, Baltimore and Chicago, which last had Republican mayors in 1962, 1967 and 1931, respectively. You can even watch the formula in action before your very eyes in New York, where Republican Mayor Rudy Giuliani performed a miraculous turnaround of a city that was so far gone, many people were saying, “Saw it off and let it float out to sea”…and in the space of slightly more than one term, Bill DeBlasio has brought back the high taxes, garbage, homeless people, disrespect for police and other aspects of the old Rotten Big Apple that New Yorkers must’ve thought would never return because…uh…I guess cities run themselves, so it's safe to elect leftists? As Dr. Phil would say, "How's that workin' out for ya?"

California has already followed the liberal formula in cities such as San Francisco and Los Angeles, and the results have been staggering, as in, “I’m staggering around with typhus.”

Now, California voters have taken that formula statewide with a legislature under ultra-leftist Gov. Gavin Newsom that’s sparked the biggest exodus since…well, Exodus.

Newsom is seemingly doing his darnedest to turn California into the Golden State for illegal aliens, criminals and homeless drug addicts and a nightmare for anyone who’s just trying to run a business or make an honest living without being assaulted or taxed to death or infected with a medieval disease. One small business owner (or former business owner) in Sacramento has gone viral (in the Internet sense, not in the “infected with typhus” sense) with an open letter to Newsom about how his policies are destroying the state and have forced her to close her business after 15 years.

Judging from all the “Amens” and “You tell him’s” that she’s getting, her frustration must be pretty widespread. But will there be enough Californians who are fed up with crime, high taxes, filth, homelessness, feces, drug needles, garbage, rats, power outages, water shortages, unaffordable housing and violent illegal immigrants who will turn out in the next election and end the reign of bleeding heart incompetence? Will there even be any law-abiding, tax-paying business owners at all left in the state by the time the next election rolls around?

If there are, you Californians should know that you don’t have to keep putting up with this. It’s not a false choice between “progressivism” and “racist, sexist, white supremacist Nazis.” That’s what people call their opponents when they can’t give you one single positive reason to vote for their side.

You don’t have to keep following the same formula year after year until California is one big Baltimore. Remember that the formula for insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Can you check on the 1619 Project of the New York Times? I believe they are saying that America was really founded in 1619 when slavery was introduced and that America is entirely built on slave labor.
Thank you - from a big fan of yours.

Governor, thanks again for your sanity, when we continue seeing more and more INSANITY. I have an idea concerning California, which the states which are neighbors of them might like. BUILD A WALL AROUND CALIFORNIA, and only allow law abiding citizens to exit. They are about ready to sink into the Pacific anyway!

I cannot believe Californians are so "blind" to what is going on in their cities! What is the matter with these people?
On another note...Why is Nancy Pelosi bad mouthing our president to foreign countries? What is her problem? We stick together and solve our problems internally - not air out our dissatisfaction with what's going on to other countries. She should be ashamed of herself!!! I am ashamed of her!

Mike, I wonder if there aren’t a large segment of CA residents who are feeling hopeless who would be able to take a stand to reverse the disintegration of humanity out there if it were not for the pervasive Hollywood stars living in their own Utopia bubble (and those who hang onto their every un-researched word, thought and twitter) perhaps Californians would have a chance to live their lives peacefully without all the hateful chaos and grow some humanity?

Well Illinois is heading the down the same destructive path as California. They now have a tax loving Liberal Democratic Governor. You have to hear this story, so the new Governor where he lives bought a mansion next to him so he would not have any close neighbors. In order to avoid paying taxes on the place he removed all of the toilets and sinks to have the house condemned. You have to just love these crooks and the people who elect them to office.

I am sort of thinking that maybe California is in so much trouble, it would be difficult for even a Republican to turn it around. Is there a Republican out there who is brave enough to run in California, knowing of the immense job of cleaning up the state? It will be interesting to see if a
Republican will run, and also if it is possible for a Republican to ever win again in California.

I don't blame people from leaving the blue states (so blue they appear to be choking to death) but, it cannot be stressed hard enough or often enough that those alighting in red states better get their heads screwed on straight and don't turn those states into the messes they escaped from.

I must admit that tlaib learned the ways of democrats in short order. Like when President Trump was going to give them more than they asked for about DACA--well! Now that he does what they want, they don't want it any more!
She says she wants to go see grandma, so it is okay'd. Well, now that she gets what she wants, she doesn't want it any more. Perhaps she was expecting to be denied so she could get up in front of as many as cameras as she could find so she could cry about it.

Bless you for keeping everyone so informed. Israel has every right to block people that are going to cause problems. Wasn't Tlaib told she could enter the country as long as she agreed to not do any protests but she declined?

Hillary is laughing her derriere off , and that's a massive effort, because Her Mentor is proving Progressivism can be achieved if the Rules for Radicals are followed. I am at heart a peaceful person but if I see someone coming at me in black hoodie, with a mask on face and a club in hand, I WILL BE THE ONE TO WALK AWAY. I'm too fat to fight, too old to run, and too wise to be the victim and my state has Castle Law and the Right for Self Protection. You know the same thing our Founders believed when they added the 2nd Amendment to our Constitution. When the Government FAILS you YOUR God Given RIGHTS kick in for self preservation. My uber liberal Sister in law once asked me why I carried a gun and my snarky reply set her off--Because every cop on our Police Dept. is too HEAVY to carry! It's a TRUE statement and I refuse to be a victim and NEVER a SUBJECT.

The exodus from California is Californicating Colorado. Those idiots bail out of the state they screwed up royally, then come here and proceed to vote the same way. As far as I am concerned they can "go back where they came from"....

(And they do it where ever they go. I guess Montana is also sick and tired of them showing up there.)

JERKS do not receive a VISAS just because they blame President Trump for not allowing an invitation from Israel.)
