December 23, 2020

Good morning!

Here is a round-up of today's major and just interesting news. Since tomorrow is Christmas Eve, my staff and I are taking a break from the news and instead will bring you more wonderful Christmas stories submitted by readers like you. Please feel free to share your own Christmas memories in the comments. Rest assured, if anything major breaks in the news over the next few days, we'll tear ourselves away from the wrapping and the egg nog to cover it. But for your own peace of mind and your stomach's sake, I urge you to turn off the news, listen to some Christmas carols, and reflect on the joy of the season and the true meaning of Christmas. I'm sure politics can wait for Boxing Day.

Blessings on you and your family, and from all the Huckabee staff, have a safe and merry Christmas!

Today's newsletter includes:

  • Stay-at-home Christmas tip
  • Chickens home roosting
  • Obvious lie pushed by mainstream media
  • New data about masks out of Florida
  • "Festivus Report"
  • President Trump threatens to veto spending bill

Sincerely,

Mike Huckabee

Stay-at-home Christmas tip

By Mike Huckabee

If you’re having a nuclear-family-only, stay-at-home Christmas this year and need something to entertain both kids and adults, here’s a handy list of the Top 15 Family-Friendly Christmas Movies.

I was a little surprised that “A Christmas Story” was only at #9, but then I remembered it was about a little boy who wanted a BB-gun for Christmas, so I guess we’re lucky we’re still allowed to see it at all.

Chickens home roosting

By Mike Huckabee

The Seattle city council member who spearheaded the move to defund the police and dismiss most misdemeanor crimes under an array of conditions called the police when someone threw a rock through her window.

I hope that instead of dispatching police, the 911 operator gave her a lecture about how privileged she was to have windows at all when homeless people don’t.

Incidentally, when called on her hypocrisy, she insisted she never backed legalizing crime but just giving the accused a chance to tell their “story” so that judges and juries might make a decision “based on the values of our city.”

If she represents the values of the city, then why did she call the cops instead of running out and asking the rock thrower, “What’s your story?”

Obvious lie pushed by mainstream media

By Mike Huckabee

When does a completely unsourced false allegation/conspiracy theory get trumpeted and repeated by the media without any of their house “fact-checkers” pointing out that it’s an obvious lie? When the target is the Republican Governor of Florida, whose handling of the coronavirus has been far better than that of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who won an Emmy for playing a Governor on TV.

New data about masks out of Florida

By Mike Huckabee

I’m not telling people not to wear masks. Indeed, I follow the mask protocols myself. So I’m certainly not advocating that anyone do anything that might risk increasing the spread of COVID-19. And studies show that over 90% of Americans are complying with mask mandates. However, it doesn’t spread disease simply to ask questions and look at scientific evidence. And at least thus far, the evidence that masks are working to prevent the spread is not exactly encouraging.

"Festivus Report"

By Mike Huckabee

In a related story, Sen. Rand Paul’s annual “Festivus Report,” in which he airs his grievances with wasteful spending, this year lists $54 billion in tax money that was completely wasted (frankly, that number sounds low to me.) Paul was one of six Senators to vote against the omnibus spending bill, calling it a “spending monstrosity.”

Among the wastes he cites from the past year’s spending: $37.5 million to help the Philippines deal with truancy, $7 million in cancer research funds used to develop a “smart toilet,” $1.7 million to study lizards walking on treadmills, and over $2 million for a study to see if hot tubs help lower stress. I’ll bet whoever wrote that last grant proposal couldn’t believe the government actually fell for it.

President Trump threatens to veto spending bill

By Mike Huckabee

President Trump threatened to veto the massive $2.3 trillion omnibus spending bill unless aid to Americans harmed by the COVID-19 (Chinese) virus shutdown was increased from $600 to $2000. I wrote yesterday about some of the outrageous allocations for pork projects, other nations and illegal immigrants, and that was just the tip of the iceberg. Trump said, “Congress found plenty of money for foreign countries, lobbyists, and special interests while sending the bare minimum to the American people who need it. It wasn’t their fault. It was China’s fault.”

That is indisputable, although Twitter will probably put a fact-checker challenge on his claim that the Chinese virus came from China.

Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer almost immediately agreed to the $2,000 figure, saying that Democrats would vote for it by unanimous consent. Well, of course they will: it’s a motion to spend a lot more money with no regard for where it’s coming from. How about a bill to provide that aid to Americans that’s separate from all other spending, and then we can pay for it by slicing into all the pork in the omnibus bill for everything from regulating performance-enhancing drugs in racehorses to funding “gender programs” in Pakistan (let the Pakistanis figure out what gender they are by themselves.)

Naturally, even in finally agreeing with Trump on something, Pelosi and Schumer tried to blame him, claiming Republicans blocked their previous efforts to help Americans more. Reality check: Trump and Republicans wanted to give Americans $1200 months ago. Pelosi blocked it in the House and Democrats filibustered to keep it from coming to a vote in the Senate. Pelosi later admitted she was waiting for a “new President” before acting.

The same woman who once derided the $1000 bonuses workers got under Trump’s jobs boom as “crumbs,” and who played politics with people’s lives by blocking $1200 stimulus checks while Americans struggled, was fine with signing off on a massive spending bill that gave them precisely half that. It took Trump threatening a veto to get the aid to Americans raised.

So please don’t insult our intelligence by claiming the Democrats are the ones who’ve really been trying to help Americans who are struggling under mostly Democrat-forced business shutdowns. I’ve seen enough of my tax money spent on Democrat efforts to rewrite history.

BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY

God bless you Mike hope you had blessed Christmas, thank you for keeping it shorter and for the info - 37 million for Philippine truancy and all the other stuff u mentioned, why aren't these reps forcibly pulled from their offices Nancy being the first, it's unthinkable they would play w/ our money and our lives in the way they do - why aren't they outrages and outbursts all over the country, how is this allowed?? Nancy is pure satanic you know what - straight from the dark side, no problem signing off on a bill that is farcical lunacy and a travesty to American people.

I love the comment about Cuomo winning the emmy for portraying a governor onTV.
Why isn't submitting Snowden's name for a pardon for any past or future acts. He alerted the entire American population to the spying that was going on illegally. As a result he had to forfeit living in America, a country he loved and continues to love. Please, in the name of God , help Snowden.

Listened, for about 2 minutes, to a news outlet regarding the pardons that Trump is handing out and they actually stated "wonder if he is going to pardon himself and his children?". Pray tell...what would he need to be pardoned for?

    Excerpt:
In our systematic review, we identified 10 RCTs that reported estimates of the effectiveness of face masks in reducing laboratory-confirmed influenza virus infections in the community from literature published during 1946–July 27, 2018. In pooled analysis, we found no significant reduction in influenza transmission with the use of face masks (RR 0.78, 95% CI 0.51–1.20; I2 = 30%, p = 0.25) (Figure 2).

Thank you. Merry Christmas. I heard on video by reputable sources that Sydney Powell was selected as President Trumps lead counsel but the former lead counsel refuses to give in to her. And hasn’t let the President have communication with her or his regular contacts.

Can someone PLEASE tell Pres. Trump to NOT sign that bill with all that other 'stuff' in it, All the democrats want to do is to bankrupt our country - & blame Pres. Trump for it.
If they can not create a bill to help American Citizens - without sending millions overseas and to other charitites and lobbyists and those in congress with pay raises.

We do NOT want that check IF if it is going to hurt our Country.

This has been THE year for anything to come out of nowhere! But even with so much anxiety and sadness, good things are happening. I've listed a few below.

    1. Nation wide, people have taken exceptional notice of their elected representatives. This has sparked outrage and the people are demanding accountability like never before. They voted according to that outrage in the 2020 election. But that is another story.

    2. Americans are taking more notice of our Constitution. At least two generations have missed Schoolhouse Rock and public schools have removed curriculums, almost without being noticed until recently. People need to know what they believe, why they believe it, and where to find record of the reason for that belief. Otherwise, many lose patriotism for their country.

    3. Americans have become aware of the manipulation of MSM. Evil needs a comparison with Good before it can be seen clearly. Our President calling out the media, and other nefarious individuals, was the turning point for Americans. People just don't believe what MSM has to say any longer. This has prompted many to actually seek truth. And they are finding it!

QUICK QUESTION: Can you educate your audience about how the Speaker of the House is elected, what the duties are, what the restrictions are, AND wasn't there anyone else from the bottom of the Swamp, other than Crazy Nancy, that they could have as Speaker?! And how can she be demoted?

Thank you for your time and have a wonderful holiday.

Is it true that the dems put something in the stimulus bill to limit our President in use of the Insurrection Act ?

The new Covid-19 stimulus package with 95 percent of the "pork spending" is a rip off to the American people. I don't care if $2000 is sent to every American because a Covid-19 relief package has no room for American tax dollars supporting foreign countries. So much for Make America Great Again and I am not blaming President Trump. I am blaming the shameful and dispicable Democrats and every worthless Republican (minus only six!) Anyone with even a few brain cells should see that this type of out of control spending is more about the forthcoming Socialist-Communist agenda. If you can financially ruin this country to make Americans dependent on a Communist Gov't under frauds Biden-, Harris, then the agenda and goal of the evil Democrats will become reality. UNLESS true Patriot Americans, like at least 74+ million who voted for Trump, FIGHT!!! Fight as if we could lose our country because we are about to if illigimate Biden-Harris take office. And on the subject of masks-another Socialist agenda. The masks are not about controlling a virus, but about controlling people and sadly submissive sheeple are going along with the Democrats and phony so called health experts and so-called scientist. WAKE-UP AMERICANS before it's too late and all of our freedoms and liberties are gone!!!!

Have a very Merry Christmas, Governor!
We should all thank Peter Navarro for "The Immaculate Deception" Report which was on your Dec 23, 2020 Evening Edition. I've put ted off and read all 36 pages. Thankyou for including it in your evening edition since I had not even heard about his report in any detail, even on Newsmax. Sure wish he could be a guest on your Saturday night Huckabee show asap! It would help to educate the masses.
Here's to a very happy holiday and may we all survive the new year if our presidential choice of the most awesome president in our lifetime is scuroulessly denied his rightful, just win!

I saw that there is going to be a rally to support President Trump on Jan 5 in DC. All across the country are people who truly believe the election was stolen. I would like to suggest that everyone go to their own state capital that day at noon to show their support. It would be wonderful for him (and the judges!) to see such support.

Nancy Pelosi & Chuck Schumer wrongly thought Trump would not call them out their no good, scheming, just before Christmas Omnibus spending Bill with some CRUMBS for the American people. Turns out they have forgot that Trump will be TRUMP and he IS still POTUS. And my money is on it that he will make their miserable no count scum bucket lives not that much fun for a long time to come. Maybe for another 8 years! Pop the popcorn!

We just wrote to the email address because we have not been seeing the Newsletters or Bible verse since the 15th. I found this by going to Goggle. Not sure what is happening, but we certainly would like to continue getting news and inspiration from Mike via email as before. There is so much misleading news out there and we feel that Mike can be trusted--especially since he usually gives backup sources. Thanks!

We the People will stand behind President Trump if he vetos this Stimulus package.
We all know what they are trying to do and it isn’t to help the people or our country .
Can you even imagine that much hatred in people that they would go to such great lengths? We know President Trump has our best interest at stake and I could bet money that all of the millions of Trump supporters who had their Constitutional Rights stolen would stand with me. Yes everyone needs help but not the rules they play by! They are doing everything they can to turn us against the only true President who has worked with and for the people and the USA
    Go ahead President Trump,
    VETO THIS PACKAGE

President Trump should veto the bill unless the left-sided socialists take ALL the pork out of it. Most thinking Americans are tired of our money going to stupid causes in other countries while our people here are struggling.

What are we thinking? Yes, a country as wealthy as we are should provide needed help to poor countries for the important things like food, clean water, health care, shelter. But for heavens sake, gender studies, etc. I guess this assuages the guilt of the wealthy like Nancy And makes them feel good. It would help if the Democrat media would tell people what is in the bill. In times of crisis we don’t need to be spending money we don’t have to mess with other people cultures. We need to stick to the basics.

On another subject: we are human beings and thus we are all flawed. Our earlier leaders had flaws but were exceptional in the things they did well. Let’s try to understand the culture in which they existed. I wonder if today’s leaders will be cancelled when future people see some of things they have done, like killing babies, giving sex changing hormones to children cancelling other peoples opinions, allowing rioting and destruction, falsely accusing others, threats against others, cheating on everything, etc. God gave us a few simple rules to live by, only ten of them. We are breaking them all. I live in a University town. At least two of the major University buildings are named after the Byrds, as in Senator and wife. Early in his life he was grand poopbah or whatever of the WV Clan, you know the people in white sheets. Haven’t heard anything about changing the building names. Funny thing, he was a Dem.

Mask mandates, I have often wondered and have not seen or heard anything that if the wearing of mask is so great in stopping this Chinese virus and a large majority of Americans are using one then there should be a Sharp fall off of the common cold and flu. You would think that those who hit us day in and day out about how great the wearing of mask is would talk about the flu.

I wish you and your family and staff a very joyful Christmas and a wonderous New Year as I thank you for your seemingly tireless efforts to help us wade through all of the insanity that has become our national politics.

I have VERY mixed feelings about President Trump's threat to veto the bill unless it includes $2000/American. Let me explain...

First, I think the Congress needs to utterly and completely stop the flow of largesse by adopting a strict policy of 1 bill-1 issue. That means every department of the government gets a separate funding bill. Every major expenditure, like COVID relief for Americans, gets a separate bill. Every penny sent to a foreign government or project has to stand on it's own merits or fail. Being a realist though, I know that will never happen so long as the swamp exists for the simple reason that every single one of the members of Congress has put through spending for his or her pet projects/people by tacking it onto other bills and they will literally NEVER give up the ability to hide their corruption by stuffing it into corners of totally unrelated bills.

Second, since Congress will not restrain themselves for the good of their true constituency (i.e. those who voted them into office), POTUS needs to stand up and say he will never sign bill that includes hundreds of issues. Rather, he needs to stand up to Congress and tell them to send him a bill that provides ONLY COVID relief for the American people who are paying for the bill.

Third, I think it's safe to say that well over 90% of the Omnibus bill is actually unconstitutional spending.

Fourth, COVID relief, although very popular and desperately needed as a result of the totally unconstitutional lockdowns, is more unconstitutional spending. Yes, I know saying that is not going to win me any popularity points but until someone points out where in the Constitution this kind of aid is allowed, I will maintain that it is unconstitutional, just like Social Security, another unconstitutional "sacred cow" dining at the government trough of largesse. And before anyone slams me because they've "worked" for their Social Security (or otherwise "deserve" it), let me point out that I too am retired and paid into Social Security for nearly 50 years. The difference between us is that I know how it started and know that the money that was taken from my paychecks through the years was NOT put into "savings" for me. I actually know what was done with it and I would encourage all of the screechers to research that "little" fact for themselves.

URGENT: I have a Word from the Lord that Trump (Cyrus) will initiate and pledge resources to the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem. Jared Kushner is, of course involved. The foundation of this Temple will be laid during the tenure of this Cyrus-type (ref. Ezra 3:1-13), work will be hindered per the conspiracies of the devil (Ezra 4) but will be restarted and be finished later (Haggai) due to honoring the legal pledge of our Cyrus (Ezra 5-6). Call Trump and tell him to include aid to Israel for this purpose in the proposed spending bill...the Dems will agree because they want this bill so desperately. This is a preview of what God is doing in the Church in our day. It's all connected.

I guess, like most people, I am tired of hearing all the "crap" done by the democrats to our beloved United States. Unfortunately, if Biden (or any other democrat) becomes president, we are in for 4 years of destruction to our country & population. It grieves me greatly. Unfortunately, it really does put a damper on the Christmas holidays. I am an elderly person, with not a lot of chance of surviving the next 4 years, & I was hoping (& still am I suppose) for a miracle for President Trump. I am selfish in saying I wanted another 4 good years under our current president, Donald Trump. He has been the best president during my 78 years, even ahead of Ronald Reagan. President Trump has brought Glory back to our Flag & Country. He is to be praised for all he has done, & we should PRAISE GOD FOR USING PRESIDENT TRUMP TO BRING A LITTLE GREATNESS & GLORY BACK TO US. It's really too bad that the democrats are out to destroy all the good President Trump has done, & in doing so, will dishonor all the good God stands for.

I must praise Trump on his move on the COVID-19 package,
Nancy and Chuck and the rest of incompetent Congressional
leaders into a position that you never realized. He now
has them into a position that will cause total financial
panic in the Blue States and the states that voted for
JOE Biden. Where is money going to come from and who is
buying those Stimulus Bonds and what are those blue states
going to do when comes Januarey 2021 those governors and
mayors have to commence handing out "PINK SLIPS AND THEIR
UNION BUDDIES LOOK AT A EMPTY PENSION FUND AND MUST TELL
THEIR PENSIONERS YOU MAY NOT BE GET PAID DUE WE DO NOT
HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY YOU."
