Evening Edition - December 11

Feel-Good/Huck's Hero Story of the Day (and we could really use one): Actor Gary Sinise and his Foundation, in partnership with American Airlines, just sent Gold Star Family children and their surviving parents on his annual “Snowball Express” flights to Disney World for a five-day, all-expenses-paid vacation.  The Gary Sinise Foundation says that "the holidays can be especially challenging for grieving families," so they provide "a therapeutic retreat with a blend of fun and inspiring programs."

And they’ve provided it to a staggering number of military families: 1,000 children and 750 parents this year alone -- and it’s their 14th year! Sinise was inspired to start the program when he read of a letter written by a soldier to his wife, saying he wanted to take the family to Disney World when he got home – but he was killed in action and never made it home.

This is a reminder that there are still some patriotic good guys left in Hollywood.  If you’d like to help Gary’s many efforts to entertain the troops and to help active duty military members, veterans, first responders and their families, visit https://www.garysinisefoundation.org/

And if you’d like to learn more about why Gary is such a tireless supporter of our military (he’s been called “the Bob Hope of our generation”) and why he’s so grateful to be an American, you can hear it in his own words in this terrific interview he gave us on “Huckabee” on TBN.

Tuesday should have been a monumental, historic news day: the House of Representatives announcing that it would proceed with Articles of Impeachment against the President of the United States!  And how was this earth-shattering news greeted by the public?  With a giant, collective yaaaaawn.

To give you an example of how seriously most people take this transparent charade: the stock market reacts to just about every bit of bad news.  Even rumors of bad news can send it plummeting.  So what happened on Wall Street after the Democrats launched their impeachment missile?  Well, the Dow did close down…by 29 points.

That’s because this was the most predictable, least consequential “impeachment” in US history.  Ever since the minute Trump won the election in 2016, the disgruntled left has been throwing a public tantrum, and hopping from one foot to another like a three-year-old who needs to go potty, screaming for the bad orange man to be impeached. They've been telling us what they were going to do until our ears were bleeding from having to listen to it. And on Tuesday, the inevitable happened: they soiled themselves.  It was probably as much of a relief to those of us who've had to listen to their incessant whining as it was to them to finally let it go.

They’ve gone through one excuse after another, all of which fell apart on examination.  Just in the past few months, they’ve skipped from “Russian collusion” to “obstruction of justice” to “quid pro quo” to “bribery” (tested better in focus groups) to “extortion,” back to “quid pro quo” again, until the Spinning Wheel of Impeachment Rationales finally clicked to a stop on the thin, vague and ridiculous “Abuse of Power” and “Obstruction of Congress.”

As Joel B. Pollack explains in detail at Breitbart.com (and seriously: share this link with everyone you know:  https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/12/10/pollak-line-by-line-debunking-democrats-articles-of-impeachment-against-trump/ ), both “grounds” are laughable.  The first is based on hearsay, zero evidence and ignoring denials from the only people with any firsthand knowledge of what happened, along with criminalizing conduct that is actually the sworn duty of the President.  Under the new Democrat standards, you could have impeached any President in history for “abuse of power” simply for exercising his executive powers.

And the second charge was pulled out of their hat instead of a rabbit. Trump didn’t “obstruct Congress,” which isn't an impeachable offense under the Constitution anyway.  He denied their requests to participate in their farcical hearings and told them to send a subpoena and we’d let the courts decide. That's the proper way to handle it.  It was the Democrats who were in such a rush to impeach that they refused to follow the Constitution. As law Prof. Jonathan Turley pointed out, the House Democrats are the ones who have actually abused their powers by refusing to recognize the rights and powers of the other two branches.

(And don’t even get me started on their claim that they have to impeach him to prevent him from doing impeachable things in the future.  They actually produced a majority report that has the same plot as the Tom Cruise movie, “Minority Report.”)

So it’s no surprise that nobody other than rabid Democratic partisans and the media (but I repeat myself) take this bad “SNL” sketch seriously.  A new poll found that even 61% of Democrats don’t believe Trump will be removed.

A new Quinnipiac survey finds that opposition to impeachment has reached 51% overall, the highest since September.  The more people saw of the Democrats’ “case,” the less convinced they were.

Even the House Democrats pushing this diaper load signaled that they don’t really believe their own balloon juice.  As their Lying Czar Adam Schiff was solemnly intoning about how sad and reluctant they were to be forced to take this drastic step because the President is such an imminent danger to America, they knew they were about to announce an agreement with him to pass the USMCA North American trade deal, negotiated by that same dangerous President who doesn’t care about helping anyone but himself, a deal that will create thousands of jobs for Americans.

(At his rally last night, Trump said the impeachment actually forced Nancy Pelosi to finally take action on the trade deal because “it plays down the impeachment, because they're embarrassed by impeachment, and our poll numbers have gone through the roof because of her stupid impeachment."

It should be noted, though, that the Democrats won a number of concessions in that trade deal that Republicans are not happy about.)

The next step in this long slog is the actual vote, when we’ll find out how many Democrats actually want to go down in history (and their swing district reelections) by voting “Aye” on this abomination. Some are reportedly meeting in desperate hopes of exchanging this rancid Christmas fruitcake for a censure vote instead.

We’ll also see how many make pious speeches about how sorrowful they are to be forced to vote to impeach the President but the grounds are so serious they simply must, when they've already voted at least three times to impeach him for petty things I don’t remember and refuse to waste time even looking up.  And the rest are talking about impeaching him again countless times if he wins reelection.

And they expect anyone to take this seriously? The only questions remaining are, “Will they really be suicidal enough to pass this joke?” and “Will the Senate throw it out right away or force them to put up a trial?”  I’m sympathetic to those who just want it to be over, but I’m also sick of seeing these spoiled children get their way with no consequences, and I’d really love to see them (especially Schiff) get the spanking they deserve by being forced to testify under oath, to expose their chicanery and finally set the record straight for all the Americans who get their “news” from the DNC’s propaganda media outlets and still believe Trump must’ve actually done something impeachable.

Hint: If everyone who’s sick of this votes in 2020 to take the House away from these incontinent children, then they can go back to voting to impeach Trump for everything he does with no consequences, and we adults can go back to ignoring them, and everyone can be happy and concentrate on making America great again.

Former FBI lawyer Lisa Page is suing the FBI and DOJ for releasing her salacious text messages with Peter Strzok, the agent with whom she was reportedly having an affair.  She claims it was a breach of the Federal Privacy Act, and she suffered numerous damages, such as being exposed to mockery and harassment, diminished earnings capacity and the cost of therapy to deal with it.

The lawsuit faces an uphill climb for a number of reasons, including the limitations on lawsuits against the federal government and her stunning claim that there was no public interest justification in releasing their text messages (as much of an eye-roller as the claim that their political bias didn’t affect the way they did their jobs).  Also, doesn’t everyone know that if you send personal messages on your employer’s cell phone, they aren’t private?  Wouldn’t you at least be expected to know that if you're a lawyer who works for the FBI?

I have some personal sympathy for Ms Page.  I’m sure it must be difficult to have your actual sins exposed for all the world to see.  But pardon me if I have more sympathy for people who’ve lost their jobs, homes, life savings and reputations because some partisan hacks in Washington abused their powers and tried to frame them as Russian agents.

I have the greatest respect for people who rescue animals.  Therefore, I think we should allow them to devote their time to serious cases of abuse and stop making them spend it removing little cowboy hats from pigeons in Las Vegas.

That’s right, you heard me.  Whoever is behind this, get a real job and stop gluing tiny cowboy hats on pigeons! Unless, of course, the pigeons are stars in their own show on the Strip: "Cowboy Pigeons on Ice."

Hi, thank you for all you do to keep us informed about true events.
I am not sure if I should mention this or if it was a true source. Question: After I read where the Democrats had
passed the US Mexico Canada trade agreement I read where it had been altered and now was not completely Trumps, but had been altered and was more of a Global treaty and not good for America. Could you check and report back on this on this iQuestion??
    Thanks so much.
    God Bless America

If we were to find out who is IN those "focus groups" and beat them senseless, Adam and nancy would be less inclined to come up with more charges of zero. I encourage a trial...an extended one where ALL libs are up there under oath, and answering the hard questions. I want to see them get caught int heir own lies. Oh yes, there is criminal behavior...on the other side. I agree, it's time for voter ID. Hey If India and Mexico can do it, so can we. Everyone can get an ID, hey I'll help in Texas if they can't get to where the ID is being issued. That would take care of the 2020 vote issue. The vote is illegit if Trump wins and the libs cheat? I don't think so!

As for Lisa, I have zero sympathy for her. She created this mess and now she will have t live with it. She thinks her hatred for DT and her use of fraud and the law to try and prevent an election will go unpunished? Really? She isn't much of an adult. More like the three -year -old you described. She got caught and... I am sure the NSA has all and it's been forwarded to Durham and Barr. A trial would be embarrassing for all dems, especially in the house. Yep crimes were committed and they all know. We need many more shrinks because Projection is so rampant in the media it's disgusting

Gary Sinise an American icon the media never knew,, he is great for America thats why the media ignores him. Another day of waste, of taxpayers money this Impeachment Farce continues with dishonest corrupt and low life congress people lying about unlawful acts they have committed 3 years ago. Tragic, is the most civil and accurate expression to explain what is happening here. Taxation of my Social Security is paying for this abuse of Federal funds. Yes take a victory lap Democrats Liberals Socialist or Communist or what ever hat you are wearing today I am deeply disgusted with your actions today and every day. As illegals drugs and people pour thru our borders Human Trafficking continues sit on those chairs we bought on Capitol Hill and attempt to destroy America, your time is closing in on you, Americans see you as lying cheating stealing dishonest windbags, your time for criminal activity is coming to an end; honestly I wish your citizenship would end also. Deport a Democrat today make American Honest today! MAGA KAG

How is it possible for the House Democrats to go day after day without doing the work they are supposed to do, then take off for days on end and continue to get paid salaries they certainly don't deserve? It makes me sick to my stomach. Most of them have probably never worked a day in their lives. Unfortunately, I know that Republicans are part of the problem too.
Thank you for keeping us up to date on what is happening.

Gee Dems announce impeachment then do USMCA is this a 1 time shot? or can Dems do more on other issues ahead needed?
Hate Dems since they showboat too much.
Nothing gets done, read online of voters ripping into local Congressperson for impeachment voting alone.
The battle states are fighting back with Dems in House on issue

I'm really beginning to believe that San Fran Nan wants to be President. She wants it VERY soon. Of course, she needs to rid herself of Mike Pence as well as our President Trump to accomplish it. But one of her daughters very recently said: “She'll cut your head off and you won't even know you're bleeding.” Nan has on occasion mentioned "jokingly" that she is 3rd in line for the Presidency being the current Speaker. I'm being serious here, really. Sick lady.

Governor, thank you for pointing out all the good that Gary Sinise and his Foundation have done and are doing for our Veterans. My wife Ellen and I are including his Foundation in our Christmas giving. That’s saying a lot, since I am the Founding President of the Border Patrol Foundation, which helps the families of Border Patrol Agents killed and wounded in the line of duty. God Bless you and family at Christmas and throughout the New Year.

As tired of this joke as I am, I want a full blown trial in the Senate. There all the back handed deals, the corruption that has taken place, and out right lies will be shown under a spotlight even the coastal 6 can't stand. I'll be the TV ratings will be higher than last weeks.

I was somewhat disappointed that your recent interview with the woman Democrat presidential candidate dd not include some of the tough questions about her stand on abortion, same-sex marriage, etc. Maybe there was not time or courtesy prevailed, but these are questions people like me want to ask.

Why are we debating whether there was bias in the FBI and other agencies when there was a coup in progress. Is everyone crazy? There was a carefully orchestrated coup in process and these dumbasses are quibbling over incompetence, etc. I think an actual coup trumps bias. This BS has to stop and people have to go to jail. I don"t actually have any hopes that will happen because the swamp has not been drained. Horawitz turned out to be just what I thought he would be, a total lameass bureaucrat.

I would like to think Congress can get back to the business of legislating, but I'm sure shiff and co. are huddling for their next round of whatever. Hopefully AG Barr and US Att Durham will get down to the business of exposing the real law breakers--and I hope for goodness sake there are real and lasting consequences to be paid--clear up to the top of the pyramid. THAT part I won't hold my breath on. And, for those who are into "reparations" I hope that all who were harmed by these vindictive actions will be given some compensation for at least all the money they had to put out. There is no way to make up for the emotional toll on these people and their families. I'd like to see the actual culprits to have to make monetary reparations from their own personal funds. It would not be fair to pass the tab to tax payers, but I'd not put a big fuss. Lisa Page--maybe she can get in on her boyfriend's go-fund me account--I think he's the one who started one up.

I see where VA legislature is backpedalling--for the moment--on gun confiscation, but so far not on registration. I didn't follow their election, so am not sure what the candidates ran on--but it seems to me the voters (and the blue counties was mentioned several times) surely should have paid attention to what they were saying about control (confiscation) and should not have voted the left into the legislature. And, good that they backed off on confiscation--but not on registration--if they get to keep that, they will segue right back to the confiscation part--because they will have the names of all the people they will go after. Of course, with law enforcement not willing to go along with that, I'm not sure who they will get to do the confiscation.

I had heard about Gary Sinise quite a few years ago but really did not know all he did and then about 8 years ago our Daughter and her husband belonged to Club 33 at Disneyland, so we got free tickets to the Christmas program that they put on every year and Gary was to read the Christmas Story. He was wonderful! After that I learned all he did for the Military! Just a great guy! A couple of years before we saw Gary at Disneyland we also got to see John Voight and Patricia Heaton, they both read the Christmas Story, also. So there are a few good ones left in Hollywood! I wonder why he takes them to Disney World and not Disneyland? We finally made it to World 3 years ago and I hated it, would never go back! I guess I am too Old for that place! But Disney was our home away from home the whole time we lived in Anaheim Hills, 42 years and when our Grand-daughter came along we had our Passports and went all the time. Very different back then as the oldest one will soon be 24 years old. Just so glad we got to see Gary before we packed up for Tennessee!

    Governor Mike

I am willing to bet a bag of Krispy Creme donuts that SNL will not do a parody of the impeachment hearings this week. This National Lampoon version of congress is already a bad lampoon, and for NSL to try and make fun of it would be almost impossible.

Mitch McConnell needs to figure some way to keep the impeachment trial going in congress right up to the elections, so the American public does not forget how ridiculous the democrats behavior is. If he can do that, I predict Tump will exced 54% in the popular vote, and take back both houses.

Went on Chick Fil A website and submitted an email > 'Why did you stop giving philanthropic donations to Salvation Army. They do good work to help people in need. They need your donations. Families look to come to your restaurant knowing that you support the bedrock foundation of the social structure of our society'.....Went on with more.....Awaiting their response.
