OPPOSING VIEWPOINT

If you still lend any credence to John Bolton’s Trump-bashing book, here’s an opposing viewpoint from someone who should know. It’s an excerpt from another forthcoming book by a White House insider who describes Bolton as “a classic case of a senior White House official drunk on power, who had forgotten that nobody elected him to anything. Often Bolton acted like he was the President, pushing an agenda contrary to President Trump’s.”

It also includes a jaw-dropping anecdote to illustrate how arrogant Bolton was toward fellow Trump staffers, even his superiors. And I absolutely trust this source because I’m her father:

AOC PRIMARY DAY

I doubt that I have many readers in New York’s 14th Congressional District (The Bronx), but just in case there are any, I offer this as a public service:

Today is the Democratic primary, where you have the golden opportunity to do both America and yourselves a tremendous favor by voting for Michelle Caruso Cabrera over Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Two years ago, the little-known socialist underdog pulled a fast one on you, using well-organized leftist activists to yank the nomination away from 10-term incumbent Joe Crowley, whom most voters thought was so safe that they didn’t pay attention or bother to show up. That allowed AOC to take the nomination, and thus the solid blue House seat, with just 15,897 votes in a District with a population of over 706,000.

Since that time, she has become, along with her fellow “Squad” members, one of the most notoriously radical and divisive voices in the House, a rigid socialist ideologue who can’t even get along with her own party, much less the Republicans. She wants to abolish immigration enforcement and pass Medicare For All and the “Green New Deal” (her socialist takeover plan thinly disguised as an environmental bill.) She was the only Democrat to vote against the Payroll Protection Plan because it didn’t include enough deficit spending and government expansion. Her occasional pronouncements on economics make one want to abolish the Boston University economics program that gave her a degree. She seems to think capitalism exists solely to screw over the workers, so she celebrated when she helped drive Amazon out of your District, where it had planned to create 25,000 new jobs. Her most recent childish pronouncement was to cheer teenagers for committing fraud to interfere with the election.

The limousine liberal elites love her for her good looks, fashion sense and huge social media following, but she is so obsessed with being a social media star and the celebrity face of socialism to America that she's apparently forgotten she’s supposed to be representing your interests. Why should she, when she has over $6 million to spend on her reelection campaign, much of it donated by rich socialists who don’t even live in your district (that’s another problem with socialism: only the very rich can afford it.)

I doubt that I agree with her challenger on much of anything, but she least seems to be a reasonable moderate Democrat who’s capable of working with others and has the good of the people of her District as her #1 priority, not becoming the Inside-the-Beltway Eva Peron. I understand you might be worried about throwing AOC out of work, since she has no marketable skills and the bar where she used to work was driven out of business by policies she supports. But never fear: I’m sure the producers of “The View” are already poised with phones in hand to make her an offer. All you have to do to get her into a far more suitable career is to show up at the polls this time.

MORE ON TULSA

There’s a lot of jawboning going on about the crowd size at President Trump’s Tulsa rally. Despite reports of over a million ticket requests, the venue was only about two-thirds full. Democrats are crowing over that, but Trump says the media scared people away from bringing their families by spending a whole week pushing scare stories about it being a coronavirus superspreader event, and the potential for violence with all the protesters planning to target it. Indeed, protesters did show up and try to block the entry, and had to be forcibly dispersed. All the conflict outside forced the cancellation of planned outdoor speeches by Trump and Mike Pence.

But the media and Democrats are trying to take credit for the lower-than-expected turnout by claiming that it was the result of a social media prank campaign by teenagers using the Chinese-created app Tik-Tok to register for free tickets with no intention of showing up. Here’s Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez displaying her own level of maturity by using her Twitter account to congratulate and encourage kids to commit fraud to interfere with a US presidential election, which is the same charge that got Nixon dirty trickster Donald Segretti four months in federal prison.

There’s also some discussion at this link about how it could be actionable in court, so you parents might want to confiscate your kids’ cell phones and find out what they’ve been doing with them before the authorities show up at your door.

Fortunately for AOC, she probably won’t have to worry about any repercussions due to the recently established legal precedent that if you’re far enough to the left, no laws apply to you.

Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale dismissed the impact of the Brat Pack, saying that they have methods for weeding out fake ticket requests, and they discarded thousands beforehand. Besides, there are no reserved seats; it’s first come-first served, so any no-shows would normally have their seats filled by someone else. So the campaign blames the media and the mob’s intimidation tactics for scaring people out of attending

Two points worth noting when you’re deciding who to vote for in November:

1. Top Democrats are now endorsing and even celebrating the threat of violence to intimidate people into giving up their First Amendment rights to freedom of speech and assembly. My standard rule of thumb is that if someone has to silence the opposition to win a debate, then he must not have much of an argument in his favor. As one writer put it, AOC admitted that Democrats have to lie to beat Trump.

2. Thanks to those who pulled this dirty trick, and to AOC, we now know that not only would voting by mail or Internet open the floodgates of election fraud, but top Democrats would not only be fine with that, they'd cheer it on.

This is why I would never want to silence the opposition. Every time they open their mouths, they make my case for me.

CANCEL CULTURE UPDATE!

Today’s whitewashing (am I still allowed to use that word?) of history and Western culture is the demand that we change the offensive racist name of…(sticks finger in encyclopedia)… Penny Lane, the street immortalized in the sweetly nostalgic Beatles song! Why? Well, uh...because it’s named after someone linked to the slave trade! Except it’s actually not. But why bother with a lot of pesky historical facts when you can BUUUURN THEM!!!

Bonus: Remember when Popular Mechanics was a treasured part of post-War culture, teaching Americans how to do all sorts of cool do-it-yourself projects? Well, now they’re giving readers tips on how to vandalize and topple public statues. This follows an earlier article on how to spot police surveillance tools so they can't track you at protests (or while looting, I assume.) This rag is no longer popular in my house.

TWO DIVERGENT VIEWS

Two Divergent Views, Both Worth Reading: The ever-blunt Kurt Schlichter details the many, many battlefields upon which the left has declared war against your Constitutional rights.

Meanwhile, John Nolte at Breitbart contrasts the free, tolerant, live-and-let-live attitude that still reigns supreme in rural and small town America, where people of all races and backgrounds get along fine – possibly because, unlike people in big Democrat-run cities, they don’t watch 24-hour “news” channels or listen to people who get their power from sowing division, and they have real jobs to get done. In other words, shows on HGTV like "Home Town" (Laurel, Mississippi) and "Fixer Upper" (Waco, Texas) give a far more accurate view of most of America than anything you'll see on CNN or MSNBC.

I agree with almost everything Nolte says (much of it was in my book, “God, Guns, Grits and Gravy.”) But I have to disagree on one thing, which is the point Kurt Schlichter made. Americans outside of the leftist bubbles can’t just ignore them and go on with their lives because the leftists refuse to ignore us. They’re coming for us whether we want to play or not. More than anything on Earth, the left lusts for power, to impose its agenda on others through government force. When the cities get big enough and blue enough, the minute they dominate the legislatures by even one vote, they quickly begin stripping away the rights that rural people cherish. Just look at Illinois, New York, California, Colorado or Virginia. Aside from secession petitions, rural folks are left with no choice but to flee to saner pastures, leaving the leftist nuts even more firmly in charge.

My advice to them would be to make your stand in the next election. You can overthrow your oppressors if you show up at the polls in 100% turnout numbers. The good news is that if the Democrats pass vote-by-mail and do away with voter ID, all your cows, pigs and chickens will be able to vote, too.

ADVENTURES IN GASLIGHTING

If you dare to say “All lives matter” instead of “Black lives matter,” you may be set upon by the Twitter mob, scorned as a racist and white supremacist, and even lose your job, depending on how far-left or cowardly your employer is. You’d think that believing that “all lives matter” was some kind of crazy fringe belief. Well, here’s a refreshing swig of reality.

In a Rasmussen survey of 1,000 voters, Americans preferred the slogan “All lives matter” over “Black lives matter” by 2-1. “All lives matter” was also preferred by 61% of minorities who were neither black nor white. Even black people preferred “All lives matter,” by 47-44%, and Democrats were about evenly split, 48-46% (ALM-BLM.) The only groups that strongly preferred “Black lives matter” were self-described liberals, Trump haters and wealthy people. So that would explain why people in Silicon Valley and the mainstream media think that everyone prefers “Black lives matter.”

We can't allow mail-in voting. Even if the liberals refrained from voter fraud (of course there would be fraud), the USPS is not reliable enough.

In my small community, ballots were supposed to be mailed to us for a local election. When they didn't arrive, someone had to call the post office, and finally the ballots came. They often leave mail at the wrong address, and ignore the facts that people die or move to new addresses.
People need to realize that the Chinese virus is not that big a threat anymore (we know how to deal with it), and go out to vote!

With his years in the House adding up- and the democrats counting their mailed in absentee ballots to take over in 2018 - Joe Crowley was supposed to be Speaker of the House - not Nancy Pelosi. Who are AOC rich donors ? Bet you Nancy has the list.

Does any scientist really think the earth rumblings are from oil - water - drilling. And has nothing to do with all the underground nuclear tests conducted by North Korea ? It seems to me NK was putting a lot more force on the earth's core than the local oil pump.

A couple of weeks ago, my stepson, a police officer, said this to me: "I've been thinking that maybe it would be better just to give the protesters what they want. I mean, it'd be better than living in fear for ourselves and our families." I was stunned. All I could say to him was "Never take a knee to the mob. Never, never, never. Because that just empowers them and makes them want to humiliate and hurt you more."

I don't know if he believes what I told him. He's a father. He wants to walk his daughter down the aisle. He wants to see and enjoy his grandchildren. He doesn't want to die at the hands of a mob of angry protesters.

I understand his feelings, but I also understand what you wrote here: "Americans outside of the leftist bubbles can’t just ignore them and go on with their lives because the leftists refuse to ignore us. They’re coming for us whether we want to play or not."

I've been a Trump supporter from the start, but my support is waning. When he said that a "Republican friend" told him to let the mobs burn the cities and terrorize citizens so everyone would truly see what the liberals are about, I was without words. First, I can't believe that any person who is in a leadership role would say such a thing, which makes me think that Trump just said it because he doesn't know what to do and that was his way of blaming someone else for his inaction.

But let's just say that is truly his logic (and maybe even someone told him to think that way). It doesn't make that statement any less appalling. Tucker Carlson expressed it beautifully when he called Trump out for saying this. He reminded Trump that he's the president--like it or not--of ALL American citizens, even the ones he doesn't like -- that HE'S responsible for the safety of ALL Americans--even those he doesn't agree with.

I agree with Tucker on another count --- that the Republicans are not stepping up to the plate and fighting against what the Dems are doing. They're letting them get by with murder and in some cases, helping them by handing them the ammo.

I don't know when any of them, including Trump, will grow spines and put a stop to the chaos, but I suspect that it's gone too far now. Any remnant of respect or fear the mob--and that includes the elected member of the mob--had for our country, other elected officials, Joe Blow in the street, etc. is gone. They feel like they can do anything they want now, can humiliate and harm others in any way they want. Why? Because nobody is stopping them. When the chips are down, as they are now, one would think that those who have the power would step up to the plate and take charge -- instead, our "brave" leaders are spewing bombastic words (if they say anything at all) and going to election rallies to bask in the adulation of their supporters, all while the nation burns. Sound familiar?

" When the cities get big enough and blue enough, the minute they dominate the legislatures by even one vote, they quickly begin stripping away the rights that rural people cherish. "
You may want to add Washington State to this list. We have been "plagued" by the Leftist control machine for a very long time. A noticeable voting event a few years back when Dino Rossi (R) ran against Christine Gregoire (D) for the governorship. Dino won, at least on the first counting of votes. He won on the second counting of votes, by a smaller margin of course. At each counting, more ballots were "discovered" by the Gregoire camp. She persisted with the aid of the liberal press support. At the third (might have been even fourth recount) , she won by a margin of a few hundred votes. Oddly enough, that was the end of the recounts. Also as odd was the little questioned result that votes for Rossi were not discovered in this multiple recount charade. By the way, Rossi won the first count by several thousands, many, many more than the final tally that inched Gregoire into the seat. And now we have Inslee and his lapdog AG, Ferguson, committed Socialist Leftists bent on proving that the oligarchy established by liberals is benign to the Constitution while systematically destroying it. Inslee is very much concerned with passing highly restrictive gun control, ammunition control ( as in registering ammunition purchases with the subsequent taxation on said ammunition), and the list continues. He is not a friend to America which he readily acknowledges, while using the Leftist phrasing 'America as it now exists". The guy is a Stalin wannabe and I'll wager he knows little about Stalin.

We "little" people MUST fight back with all we can muster. Starting with voting RED across the board while hoping that there are not too many "RINO's" in the weeds. I flip between buying another gun for protection or not, daily it seems. Today I am in the not lane because of finances. Tomorrow, who knows.

Cancel Culture Update reminds me of a man.
One of the most vile, disgusting wretched men to ever walk the face of the earth ( by his own admission ). A drunk, a bar room brawler, and just an awful despicable human being. Got a job on a slave ship as a deck hand. Went on to become a captain of a slave ship and then become a slave trader himself.
Then one day by the grace of God he became a Christian, then a Clergyman, and staunch supporter of the abolition of slavery, preaching against the evils of slavery in Great Britain. And by the grace of God he saw the abolition of slavery in Great Britain just months before his death.
You know him as John Newton who wrote " Amazing Grace ".

I have no local moderate newspaper available to me--I am forced to go with the New Haven Register, a far-left publication. I recently submitted a letter to the editor, which so far, they have not published (and probably won't). I bemoaned the fact that BLM no longer supports its original cause, but has started ignoring black conservatives and black law enforcement. I argued that BLM should now be called OSBLM--OnlySomeBlackLivesMatter.

Slaves weren't always treated badly in the homes of rich owners and many lived better than many of my ancestors who were farmers. My grandma on mom's side had a 3 seater outside her house, outdoor pump for water, hand washing clothes, 10 pregnancies, and the person on the other end of a cross cut saw when grandpa needed help. He died at 52 leaving her with 5 children, the youngest was 6 and no government help. My mother was the oldest living and left home at 18 to work for a family for $2 a week and board and room. She sent money home from her earnings. I think that was slavery but the best thing that ever happened to my ambitious mother who remained a lifelong friend of the one remaining daughter for 60 years until they both were unable to correspond due to health issues. I come from a long line of strong women and value hard work, faith, love of family, and pray for those who disagree with my values like your daughter.

    Dear Mike:
I sent you a message recently about DACA, I mentioned a case of a young man that is a clear success story of good people earning the right to an opportunity to stay here.
I know our President is eager to be fair and just and understand that He is trying to protect our citizens, but should be room for decent people that were brought as children and are really Americans now.
Please talk to our President about this, I can provide more details for this success case, which I think is good enough to be published and part of a TV show.
    Thanks.

Sir - thanks for your newsletter. One question - although I know it isn't your poll, everything in that Rasmussen poll on "All Lives Matter" made sense except for "Black Lives Matter" being preferred by wealthy people. That was a true, "wait - what??" moment. Would you care to speculate on what THAT is all about? I guess I just don't know much about being wealthy.
