DAILY BIBLE VERSE

2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

John 14:2-3

BREAKING: Fifth Circuit reverses judge; Engelbrecht and Phillips released

Last Monday, True The Vote founder Catherine Engelbrecht and cyber investigator Gregg Phillips were taken into custody on a contempt of court charge for refusing to divulge their source of information that election software company Konnech was allegedly storing American election-worker data on servers in China.

Ironically, Engelbrecht and Phillips had to spend last week behind bars while Konnech CEO Eugene Yu, after being indicted on the basis of the information the two provided to the court, has been out on a $500,000 bond and will remain at home, under house arrest, until his next hearing, set for November 17. Does anyone see something wrong with this picture?

In breaking news, Engelbrecht and Phillips were released from jail Sunday. Catherine released a statement:

“Those who thought that imprisoning Gregg and I would weaken our resolve have gravely miscalculated. It is stronger than ever.

“The right to free and fair elections without interference is more important than our own discomforts and even this detention, now reversed by a higher court.

“We are profoundly grateful for that. We will continue to protect and defend those who do the vital work of election integrity, and we will make sure that their findings become a matter of public record.”

According to a comment on FREE REPUBLIC, President Trump had called for their release during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday. But it was the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in Southern Texas (True The Vote is Houston-based) that reversed Judge Kenneth Hoyt and let them out after six days.

True The Vote had appealed Judge Hoyt’s decision last Wednesday. Konnech vehemently opposed their release in a 25-page brief filed Saturday evening. The tactic seemed pretty rotten, especially when they said outlandish things like, “...Petitioners brazenly seek to strip the District Court of its contempt power.”

No, Petitioners didn’t. Petitioners were saying that it had been applied inappropriately in this case, and a higher court has since agreed. According to some reports, this might be the first time in U.S. history that Americans have been jailed in a federal civil defamation suit.

If you’d like to do a deep dive into the technical minutiae of the appeal, here are details of their attorney’s argument that their hesitancy to blow the covers of their sources was not contemptuous of the court...

During their imprisonment last week, True The Vote released a statement that appears on their website. Here’s what they said:

Catherine also released an update from jail last week. She apparently had to spend some time in solitary confinement, in an 8 x 10’ unlighted cinderblock cell. Catherine asked for prayers as she awaited the result of her appeal. She also noted that a patriot friend had set up a website to sell merchandise, the proceeds of which would will go towards their legal defense.

………….
In related news, Republicans in Congress have released a new report called “FBI Whistleblowers: What Their Disclosures Indicate About the Politicization of the FBI and Justice Department.” REDSTATE’s quick summary of the 1,000-plus pages might help explain why so-called “election deniers” Catherine and Gregg were imprisoned while Eugene Yu walked free. Our ‘justice’ system is playing hardball with anyone who dares to challenge elections, treating them as criminals. They refuse to acknowledge that True The Vote is trying to save Americans’ faith in our system, not pose a threat to it.

https://redstate.com/streiff/2022/11/04/1000-page-report-by-gop-judiciary-committee-staff-documents-the-cultural-rot-and-political-activism-in-the-fbi-n654685

Utah Sen. Mike Lee, in an appearance with Maria Bartiromo on FOX NEWS’ SUNDAY MORNING FUTURES, spoke about plans the GOP has –- if (when!) they take Congress –- to get politics out of the FBI. Whistleblowers have been bringing to their attention a long list of issues. “The very first thing we need to do,” he said, “is hold a series of hearings and actually demand answers. We’ve got questions that have remained unanswered for years, from the abuse of Section 702, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, to unanswered questions on the raid on Mar-A-Lago, to...why the attorney general of the United States saw fit to issue a letter, a memorandum, essentially accusing moms and dads concerned about what their kids are being taught in public schools of being domestic terrorists of some sort.”

I know what you’re thinking. UGH, MORE HEARINGS. But they’re a necessary step for getting questions answered on the record, after which they move to the next phase, which Sen. Lee said “perhaps ought to involve some sort of restructuring.” (Perhaps??) Most of the agents are not politically motivated, he said, but “at headquarters, we’ve got problems...” I wish, though, that he'd had a more definitive answer about the quality of leadership the next Senate could count on from Sen. Mitch McConnell. Perhaps that was just because they ran out of time...

Quote of the Day!

From President Biden: “No really. This ain’t your father’s Republican Party. This is a different breed of cat. I mean it. Look, they’re all about the wealthier getting wealthy. And the wealthier stay wealthy. The middle class gets stiffed. The poor get poorer under their policy.”

Change just one word - “Republican” to “Democrat” - and we finally have a Biden quote that’s 100% accurate!

NBC throws a lifeline to sinking Democrats

Early voting is done, and tomorrow is your last chance to make your voice heard about the direction this nation has been going under the Democrats since January of 2021. They keep saying if people vote the wrong way, it could spell the end of America. I agree, but I define “the wrong way” as “reelecting them,” and I’m hardly alone.

Still, NBC threw a lifeline to the Democrats over the weekend, bringing out their final poll that claims voter enthusiasm has shifted and Democrats once again lead the generic ballot survey by one point.

https://redstate.com/bonchie/2022/11/06/fresh-gop-dooming-emerges-just-prior-to-the-election-democrat-actions-tell-a-different-story-n655379

As Bonchie at Redstate.com points out, that’s just one poll, and NBC doesn’t have a very good record. And national generic Congressional polls are pretty worthless. Still, desperate Democrats leaped on this junk food like a starving man on the last Twinkie, and are proclaiming that the tide has turned and they will keep the House and Senate. And I’m okay with them thinking that.

First, it will make the wailing and rending of garments of the media talking heads on Election Night even more satisfying. And second, I’ve urged Republicans throughout this campaign season to ignore the polls and vote as if the GOP were down 10 points and America’s future depended on massive Republican turnout (the latter is true.)

This is a crawl-over-broken-glass-in-shorts-if-need-be election. If you have not yet voted, do it tomorrow. Take your Republican family members, friends and neighbors with you if they need a ride. Go early and allow plenty of time so there will be no complaints of “The line was too long, I had to leave without voting.”

This especially goes for the millions of Christians who traditionally don’t vote. There is a war on you, your morals and your religious freedom, and this is how you peacefully fight back. Of course, I know the objections: the candidate isn’t perfect or doesn’t fully abide by Biblical teachings. I addressed that in my TBN monologue this weekend, and you can see that here.

https://youtu.be/z635lNu1pn0

Bottom line: we aren’t choosing a Savior. We have a Savior already, and not being Democrats, we don’t mistake politicians for Messiahs. We have an urgent job that needs to be done, and two choices of people we can hire to do it. Only one of those applicants might be able to fix it while the other actively promises to make the problems worse. If you were hiring a plumber and had a choice like that, which would you make?

If you don’t want things to get even worse, turn out tomorrow and vote as if your country – and your plumbing – depended on it.

Democrats spent $19 million to boost MAGA candidates

According to the Washington Post, the Democrats spent a staggering $19 million of their campaign funds on advertising boosting allegedly “far-right, Trump-endorsed MAGA extremist, election deniers” in GOP primaries. They thought if those candidates beat moderate establishment candidates for the nominations, it would be easier to demonize and beat them in the general elections. Now, most of those candidates look poised to win their races, and some, like J.D. Vance and Kari Lake, have emerged as political superstars who will likely have major influence in the future. I’ll continue with this story after the link and after we both stop laughing.

https://www.westernjournal.com/dems-spent-19-million-promoting-gop-candidates-biden-now-says-threat-democracy/

This tells us three things:

1. The Dems wasted a lot of George Soros’ money, which is always a good thing. If they hadn’t piddled it away on this, it might’ve gone to something evil that was more successful.

2. They live in such a bubble of arrogance that they severely underestimated their opponents, overestimated the appeal of their own candidates, and didn’t understand the voters at all.

3. All this “MAGA Republicans will destroy our democracy” hysteria is just a lot of cynical political goulash. If they really cared about “our democracy” (I know, we’re not a democracy, just go with it), and seriously believed all the garbage they were spewing about these people being an existential threat to America, they never would have tried so hard to help them win their nominations. Wouldn’t it be better to risk losing to a “safe” moderate Republican than to help move a “MAGA extremist” one step closer to power and ushering in Armageddon?

The fact that they were meddling in the other party’s primaries to help certain candidates win while telling voters that those very same people would destroy America if they got into power tells us they don’t really believe their own fear mongering at all. They were just two-faced liars playing a cynical, unethical political game to try to make it easier for them to stay in power. They thought they were super-geniuses, and boy, were they wrong.

That they wasted millions of dollars on a “brilliant scheme” that blew up in their faces is my idea of true “social justice,” and the funniest backfire of its kind since Wile E. Coyote.

Great Story

Former comedian Kathy Griffin has been permanently banned from Twitter for impersonating owner Elon Musk. Griffin changed her name on her account to “Elon Musk” and the photo to Musk’s face (at least it wasn’t a fake, bloody severed head, so she is getting a little classier.) Her account was promptly suspended because impersonating others without clearly stating it’s a parody account is a violation of Twitter rules.

https://www.dailywire.com/news/twitter-permanently-bans-kathy-griffin-after-she-impersonated-elon-musk-she-fd-around-and-found-out

Ironically, the same leftists screaming about this are also pressuring advertisers to boycott Twitter because it will allegedly allow “misinformation” by giving conservatives free speech. Meanwhile, they complain that Griffin’s free speech is being infringed (it’s not: she violated the rules, and identity theft is not free speech) and are defending her for deliberately spreading misinformation.

But the best part was Musk’s response to all this. He tweeted, “Actually, she was suspended for impersonating a comedian…But if she really wants her account back, she can have it…For $8.”

https://mediarightnews.com/elon-musk-clarifies-kathy-griffins-twitter-ban-she-was-suspended-for-impersonating-a-comedian/

I suspect her real problem with Elon Musk is that she knows he’s about a million times funnier than she is. Come to think of it, that might have also been her real beef with Trump.

Musk threatens advertisers boycotting Twitter

Activist groups like the NAACP and the ADL are pressuring advertisers to boycott Twitter for allowing conservatives to have free speech (and too many of them are complying, causing a big drop in revenue to Twitter.) Elon Musk warned that if it doesn’t stop, he will do a “thermonuclear name-and-shame” so that conservatives will know which companies are hostile to their rights and launch counter-boycotts.

https://bestmediainfo.com/2022/11/elon-musk-threatens-advertisers-boycotting-twitter

By the way, he also noted that he had to lay off half the employees because Twitter was losing $4 million a day (maybe it was the free wine-on-tap in the office?), and those staffers who are crying about how mean and unfair he is are getting three months’ severance pay, or 50% more than contractually required.

Of course, some companies have already made it well known that they prioritize leftist virtue-signaling over shareholder profits, and learned the “get woke, go broke” rule the hard way. I could name some of the anti-free speech companies that halted their Twitter ads now, but I don’t like calling for boycotts that mostly hurt innocent employees. So I’ll give them a day or two to rethink their bad business decisions and get used to the idea of all Americans having the right to make their voices heard. With any luck, tomorrow’s election results might slap some reality into them.

If some of the so-called Christian churches who won't vote because the candidates don't allegedly live according to biblical standards actually lived according to biblical standards themselves and demanded that the men in their pulpits have guts and preach biblically our country wouldn't be in this mess.
