Monday at 1 p.m., Massachusetts lawmakers will hold a public hearing on a bill for the state to join New York and Vermont in allowing abortions of viable babies right up until the moment of birth for any reason.  Pro-life activists are urging those who oppose this radical bill to show up for their one chance to make their voices heard before it comes up for a vote.  As Bernadette Lyons, wife of state Rep. Jim Lyons said, “We are not going to let this proud cradle of liberty become the shameful cradle of death.”

I pray for their success, but it won’t be easy to melt the hearts of stone of those who defend abortion up to (and in some cases beyond) birth.  Some honestly seem to believe that they not only hold the moral high ground, but that their viewpoint is the only valid, acceptable view, case closed.

A Message from Lumpy Hicks

By Mike Huckabee

Sarah has received wonderful messages from so many of you, here is one from Lumpy Hicks.

Lumpy Hicks

06/14/2019 12:42 PM

Governor, you have so much to be proud of in Sarah. She is a truly gifted communicator with a unique ability to work (process and answer questions) under pressure. And clearly her mind and heart are in the right place. She speaks with authority because her values are rooted in something infinitely greater than self-preservation, personal gain, or partisan politics. She knows that her highest loyalty is owed to God. She has strength of character. I am sorry to see her step down as White House Press Secretary, but I know she is doing the right thing because she has her priorities in order.

You likened the White House Press Corps to a room-full of angry, unruly toddlers who daily throw tantrums because their candidate lost. So true! Similarly, I would say each press conference is like one round of a boxing match. I feared the corps would brutalize Sarah. To the contrary, she handled the corps, as you described, with grace and dignity. In fact, her strength, cool head, and wit changed the dynamic of the match entirely. They couldn't land those trusty low-blows or "Left" hooks anymore. Sarah floats like a butterfly, stings like Huckabee. Her ability to focus on the issues and dodge the jabs (rumors, lies, and personal attacks) while landing truth-blow after truth-blow kept the press corps on the ropes. The decision is unanimous. Sarah Huckabee Sanders won the fight, never even lost a round.

Laura Ainsworth: a follow-up to skeptics on Michelle Obama theory

By Mike Huckabee

ust one day after sharing my longtime prediction that Michelle Obama will be the Democrat presidential nominee, I learned something else that lends additional credibility to that theory.

Here’s a question: WHY, at this particular time, would longtime Obama confidant Valerie Jarrett be giving an exclusive interview not just promoting her book (which debuted back on April 2 and is a New York Times bestseller) but also discussing her cherished time in the White House and how WONDERFUL the Obama White House was compared to the way things are now? The book is entitled “FINDING MY VOICE: My Journey to the West Wing and the Path Forward,” and the very first sentence from the promotional blurb sets the tone:

“When Valerie Jarrett interviewed a promising young lawyer named Michelle Robinson in July 1991 for a job in Chicago city government, neither knew it was the first step on a path that would end in the White House.”

Sarah stepping down as White House Press Secretary

By Mike Huckabee

As I can tell from the outpouring of kind messages (much appreciated!), I’m sure you’ve already heard the news that my daughter, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, will be stepping down as White House Press Secretary at the end of June.  I know that many people are disappointed that she’s leaving, but remember: she’s not only held one of the highest-pressure jobs in Washington for two years while raising a family, but prior to that, she was the Deputy Press Secretary, worked on the Trump campaign, and helped run my 2016 campaign.  That’s a long time to spend on the political treadmill without a break.

I agree with you that she’s been the best person ever to hold that job, and she’s held it under some of the most trying conditions in history.  I once thought that her lifetime of growing up and working in politics made her uniquely qualified for the job.  I didn’t realize that her experience as a mother of three in dealing with unruly toddlers would turn out to be her most valuable asset, as she daily had to face a White House Press Corps that had devolved from professional adult journalists into a pack of angry children throwing a never-ending tantrum because their preferred candidate lost.

Other news you might have missed...

Thanks to Roger Kimball at the Spectator for this terrific salute to Sarah Huckabee Sanders.  Well worth reading not just for the praise for my daughter but for his spot-on vivisecting of the behavior, tactics and motivations of her "small, ungracious, and craven" critics in the media.

 -------------------------------------

This is why some Republicans who have long griped about Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell have recently been shocked to find themselves liking him more and more:

Yesterday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi pulled one of her typically melodramatic photo ops, calling a press conference with a big graphic behind her showing various Democratic legislative agenda items (“The Paycheck Fairness Act,” “The Equality Act,” “The For-the-People Act,” “Gun Violence Prevention,” etc., most of them government-bloating, freedom-killing leftist power grabs with misleadingly positive names) written on tombstones.  She called it “McConnell’s Graveyard,” and solemnly intoned that McConnell “takes great pride in calling himself ‘the Grim Reaper’” and he “wants to bury” all these vital initiatives.

Here is McConnell’s reply:

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/mitch-mcconnell-for-the-first-time-in-my-memory-i-agree-with-nancy-pelosi

"She's got it absolutely right. For the first time in my memory, I agree with Nancy Pelosi.  I am indeed the 'Grim Reaper' when it comes to the socialist agenda that they have been ginning up over at the House with overwhelming Democratic support and sending it over to America. Things that would turn us into a country we have never been…None of those things are going to pass the Senate. They won't even be voted on. So think of me as the Grim Reaper.”

This is why the media are in such a tizzy over how Republicans are acting in the Trump era.  We’re supposed to quietly absorb ridiculous accusations and attacks by Democrats, look contrite and apologize for defending America.  We’re not supposed to throw their garbage back in their faces and say, “You’re darn right I oppose your dangerous socialist policies.”  Why, it just isn’t cricket!

There used to be a legal defense in Texas called the “He needed killin’” defense.  I think Mitch is not only the Grim Reaper, after that response to the Democrats’ toxic agenda, he’s now an honorary Texan.

 ----------------------------------

A reminder for all the media members and Democratic Presidential hopefuls clutching their pearls and calling for impeachment over President Trump saying he might hypothetically look at negative info on an opponent offered by someone from a foreign country like Norway:

Not only did Hillary Clinton and the DNC actually spend millions of dollars on Russian oppo dirt on Trump in 2016, but in 2017, her campaign spokesman went on record defending it.  Here’s the money quote: “I probably would have volunteered to go to Europe myself to try and verify if it would have helped get more of this out there before the election.”

https://www.westernjournal.com/unearthed-ex-clinton-aide-quote-undermines-latest-dem-narrative-opposition-research-happens/

To be fair, that’s also hypothetical.  Clinton’s campaign operatives didn’t have to go to Europe to get foreign dirt on their opponent into the media quickly.  They had campaign operatives like James Comey to leak it to the media for them.

--------------------------------------

Attention, parents of teenage girls, particularly if you’re pro-life: If you let them read Teen Vogue magazine, you should know that publication is advising them that it’s okay to get abortions without even telling their parents because, hey, “accidents happen,” and “access to abortion should be your right, regardless of your parents’ beliefs.”  Besides, pro-life parents are probably hypocrites who would approve of abortions for their own daughters anyway.

https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/teen-vogue-tells-16-year-old-how-to-get-abortion-against-pro-life-parents-wishes-state-laws

If you think that’s just a one-time punk opinion piece from an advice columnist, a study found that in 2017, Teen Vogue had printed 63 pro-abortion articles by the end of February (you know: the SECOND month of the year.)  Amazingly, the magazine also finds room to cover other issues aside from promoting abortion, like pushing leftwing politics and instructing young readers on how to perform various kinky sex acts and how to “safely” send nude selfies to their romantic partners.

If you wouldn’t feed garbage into your children’s mouths, why would you let someone feed garbage into their brains?  What should be in vogue right now among responsible parents is canceling subscriptions to Teen Vogue.
