I completely concur with Senator Graham. Shutting down wet non-refrigerated "meat markets" should have occurred several decades ago. However, are we sure that the wet markets was where this latest problem started? Senator Cotton from Arkansas was floating the contention that it actually originated in a biological weapon facility outside Wuhan. It seemed like he was shut down pretty early in the process. Was that the leadership in the Senate telling him to keep his mouth closed?

With respect to Senator Graham, the idea that US standards of food safety can be dictated to the rest of the world without major disruption of their available food supply is both simplistic and unrealistic. As a US farmer who has traveled to SE Asia, it has become obvious that America is spoiled and removed from the reality of where food comes from and what the poor of other countries have as choices in their everyday food supply. Much of the world does not have the option of shopping in clean, lighted grocery stores with refrigerated cases filled with neatly packaged meat. The suggestion and incentivized encouragement of incremental steps to remove the more dangerous exotic animals from markets may be helpful, but to "demand" an immediate ban on "wet markets" and "open air markets" shows an arrogant misunderstanding of the difference in food supply and safety advances (that we in the USA take for granted) to what people in much of the rest of the world must do to survive.

We have many indoor sports stadiums and indoor sports practice centers all over the nation. In Michigan UofM has indoor practice building for football. Yet building field hospitals. These are all tax payer paid, Why are not those huge centers used for hospitals?
