Only in Washington...

August 10, 2017

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is taking some flak for condescendingly suggesting that President Trump didn't understand “the reality of the complexity of legislating” and had “excessive expectations about how quickly things get done in the democratic process.” Chief among those hurling the flak was Trump himself, who tweeted back that Republicans have been promising to “repeal and replace” Obamacare for seven years, so why is it not done yet? Only in Washington would taking over seven years to get a bill passed be considered a rush job.

I can understand how a simple real estate developer might not understand that passing a bill is a complicated endeavor, nothing like the simple, overnight process of erecting a 50-story hotel. But when you take so long that the hotel could have been built and open to the public for six years already while the bill you’ve been promising the voters who elected you still isn’t written, that’s not the “democratic process.” That’s the thwarting of the democratic process.

You are right on the money. I never in my life saw a party so dead set against a President that they will put the lives of Americans in danger to satisfy their own egos. We all John McCain is doing his vote no out of spite, due to What President Trump said about him. Now Republicans do what you PROMISED! you would REPEAL & REPLACE OBAMACARE NOW!!! How much the dems pay you to go against your party???

The Republican Party had seven years to develop a health care plan , and the best they could do is offer a tax cut plan for the wealthiest 2% of AMERICANS disguised as a " health care plan," where 23 million AMERICANS WOULD EVENTUALLY LOSE THEIR HEALTH CARE COVERAGE!!!!!!!

You are absolutely right on, as usual. There is no excuse for the Republicans not being prepared to offer a good bill on health care insurance on the first day of this administration. They did have over 7 years to plan and work together and work out the kinks. Either they did not bother, or they dislike President Trump so much that they refuse to cooperate with him despite the mandate from We The People!

Long past time for the "Good Old Boys" to wake up and realize they have to work now - it has become "What have you done for me today" reality in the DC of President Trump like it has been in corporate America for the last 30 years = Produce or Perish. MAGA
