CNN recommits to "independence" ha ha ha

June 19, 2017

Laugh of the Day: Maybe the Time Warner stockholders weren’t laughing, but in response to a charge at their shareholders’ meeting of obvious political bias at CNN, CEO Jeff Bewkes told them that CNN is “trying to keep it balanced and fair” and recommitted to an attempt “to be independent.”

Apparently, he said this with a straight face.

The shareholders’ meeting happened to take place one day after Republicans were targeted at baseball practice by a rifle-wielding leftist. Have you noticed a change in the tone at CNN since Bewkes made that commitment to his investors? I realize it hasn’t been long, but they seem to be going full-tilt, as usual, against the Trump administration by gleefully passing along unconfirmed leaks that first appeared in the New York Times, another bastion of accuracy and objectivity. Any change is bound to be pathetically short-lived, the journalistic equivalent of a “moment of silence.”

Major news organizations operate under the assumption that if they tell us something, even with no evidence to back it up, we are to take it seriously. At this point, we know that’s just one more thing they’re wrong about. And when CNN defends itself as trying to be “balanced and fair,” we can take that for what it is –- a joke.

I don't know about this special council and the road that lead it there. 1st Trump fires Comey on DAG. recommendation. 2nd Comey comes up with a memo. 3rd Muller becomes special council. who in return brings on a bunch of Hillary boot lickers, and all the while Sessions is sitting back away from the battle. At this point Trump has nothing to lose maybe he should fire Muller and while he's at it fire Sessions and the DAG. And start from scratch.

The democrats are such dirty players that I wonder what will happen if they regain control. Will we ever recuperate and restore the USA that is about freedom , liberty and the bill of rights. Thank you Mike for keeping on them. I pray the Republicans can succeed

I share your laughter. I cannot stomach what is being spewed by Communist News Network. Recently, I was walking from my plane at Nashville Airport, and I saw, on a large TV, a CNN pundit openly talking TRASH about our president! There is no telling what damage she did to our country, with all sorts of foreign visitors passing by and hearing her nonsense.

With assertion from Comey at the hearing the other day and other confirmation, one would think it is time to stop the reporting of such egregiously erroneous information as we have seen in the past months since Trump became president. It is time to legislate these acts as a crime and go after the false media. Am I wrong, but weren't there laws that did just that years ago. I can remember when newspapers, etc. were very careful to assure their reports were factual. So what happened? Frankly, I am sick of the way dems are obstructing the legislature to prevent repubs from accomplishing their goals. It's time for repubs to go after dems for their terrible acts. Like digging into the source of the Russia-collusion story. I heard they are the ones who gave the FBI that info to begin with. For all we know, the dems concocted the whole story to thwart the repubs and Trump. Sounds silly to you? Well there are more facts to back that up than apparently for the collusion fantasy. I mean, "Where's the beef?" There's more meat on a deserted island than that drama. I could go on. For every yarn the dems spin, I could spin one on them with more bite. More facts then they can reveal.
